“Matt and Zoe are the tag team of dreams. They had our show cocker Cassie for the first time this week and she just loved it there. She got some amazing walks, treats and lots of attention and by the time her daycare had come to an end, she sulked because she didn't want to leave! All the signs of a good experience. Zoe and Matt are really lovely, accommodating and were kind enough to let us visit them beforehand so we could see where she would be etc. communication was also top tier. Couldn't recommend them enough! ✨🥰”

About: I grew up with two family dogs who lived to 10 and 12 years old, so caring for dogs has always been a part of my life. Over the years, I helped with feeding, walking, playtime, cleaning, and giving dogs attention and companionship. I’ve also helped care for my uncle’s dogs, and he has shared many useful puppy training tips and experiences with me. Through that, I’ve learned more about routines, patience, positive reinforcement. I genuinely enjoy being around dogs and I’m always willing to learn each owner’s preferences and follow their instructions carefully to make sure their pets feel safe and comfortable. Schedule: My schedule is currently flexible because I’m studying programming from home while job searching. I’m generally more available during the daytime and enjoy spending time caring for pets, including walks, playtime, feeding, and keeping them company. I’m also happy to follow each owner’s preferred routine and care instructions. At the moment, I’m unable to host pets in my home due to rental restrictions, but I’m happy to care for pets in the owner’s home and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owner is away. Safety, trust & environment: I always prioritize a pet’s safety, comfort, and routine while caring for them. I’m patient, attentive, and careful to follow the owner’s instructions, including feeding schedules, walking preferences, and any special care needs. At the moment, I’m unable to host pets in my home due to rental restrictions, but I’m happy to care for pets in the owner’s home and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owner is away.
“Philip was great with Rex who can be a bit anxious with new people. He was very relaxed about letting Rex settle in his own way (storming around the house looking for titbits!) and they were hanging out on the sofa when I went to pick up. Highly recommended!”

About: I grew up with a dog for 15 and a half years, which had a profound impact on me. I decided to pursue dog training after adopting a Boxer, a decision I've never regretted. I've learned a great deal about myself, including my insecurities, strengths, and how dogs and horses perceive me. It's been an invaluable experience that I've refined more and more throughout my life. I can care for dogs of any size and age, though they should be at least one year old. If needed, I can train young dogs and also care for older ones. I can also administer oral medications and give your Sweetie a soft & calming massage. In 2018 and 2021, I adopted two rescued Greyhounds whose calm and balanced nature has helped many other dogs. Even though they sometimes get excited at dog meetups, they always manage to build a stable relationship. This invaluable talent has brought us many friends on our daily walks. My two sweeties have become important members of various dog groups / packs and are, of course, always welcome among people. I am also available to help with nearly any behavioural issues you may encounter with your dog. How to read a dog's body language? How do I train my dog not to pull on the leash all the time? Why does my dog bark even when there's (obviously) no reason to? Would you like to change this unwanted behaviour in your beloved pet? Talk to me. I work from my home office in the mornings. At midday, I take my two Greyhounds for a walk, and they always enjoy sharing this time with new friends. They are both extremely friendly and outgoing, even with small dogs. Then it's garden time, perhaps some training, or playtime with friends like a Giant Schnauzer or a Whippet at my house. So there's always something going on, and after all that romping around, a cool bed on the lawn is just what's needed. I have a fenced garden, live in a quiet area with very friendly neighbours, I offer lounging areas, cooling mats in the summer, and a separate feeding area.
“Thanks Reece for taking care of our little dog Teddy at short notice. Ted seemed entirely at home, and I appreciated that she had company all day, getting to explore the garden, snooze on the beds and even get a little walk - Reece was great at providing updates and photos, and super friendly.”

“Esmeralda was so friendly, my dog was really well loved after, he's had a brilliant day with a few walks and loads of affection. She sent me some lovely photos of their day together. I would definitely recommend Esmeralda and I'll be using her again.”

“Mei is an absolute dream. She was a great communicator when setting up a trial sit. Very knowledgeable and calm re her experience with dogs, in fact as soon as I arrived at her home for the 1st time - my dog was wagging her tail and eager to greet Mei! She is usually very shy and sometimes crouches down with strangers, however not this time! She was really happy, trusting and not shy at all with Mei. Her children are so kind also and very calm, before long her daughter was stroking my pups belly which usually only happens with regular people she knows well! I received many lovely photos, Pupdates and even a video. Walkies went so well. Mei even has a cute dog mat which my pup lay down on. Mei surely has a natural way with dog and both me and my pup look forward to booking her again. Thank you Mei and family xx”

“Poppy has been absolutely amazing with our 3-month-old puppy, Bobby! From the moment we met, it was evident she's fantastic with dogs and is very caring, loving, and patient towards them. This was so important to me. Bobby had such a blast today, it's like we've sent him to a five-star puppy retreat/woodland hotel. He had a fab walk with Poppy and Primrose in the picturesque countryside. I really appreciated photo updates from Poppy and lovely check-ins about Bobby's stay. I highly recommend Poppy to all loving pet parents, she's truly fab with animals! We have already booked another long-term stay with Poppy for our pup :) Thanks so much, Poppy!”

“Another lovely booking with Sarah, this time for daycare. Pictures showed how at home Herbie feels in her home and he was very keen to get in the house this morning! Thank you again for looking after him so well 😊”

“Samantha was a fabulous host for Baloo! She looked after him so well and understood completely the needs of large breed puppies. Baloo had a great time with Samantha, whether a lovey walk or lots of cuddles, and came home very happy and comfortably tired after a day of fun. I would leave Baloo with Samantha again without hesitation and would recommend her to anyone else looking for doggy day care.”

“My first time leaving Fenn with a sitter however I needn’t have worried as Nicola took great care of him. She kept me updated with videos of him happily playing in the house and out enjoying a walk. She is clearly an experienced dog owner and I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Fenn with her again in the future.”

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
