About: I have had a strong interest in all animals since being young. I regularly cared for family & neighbours pets from being a child. I now own four rabbits, a hamster, a turtle, fish and a 7 month old puppy named Ralph! Happy to deal with any training and care needs as I regularly train my own puppy and administer medication for my rabbits. My partner Lewis and I have opposite shift work so there is always somebody available. Caring for animals is my passion and I will enjoy the company. We can work around your needs to make it work for you. Happy owner, happy pet! I have a fenced garden and a sociable and friendly dog, so your dog always has a play mate. I have a spare bedroom that includes a crate so we can create a safe space for your dog if needed. I have a field close by and if your dog is not great with recall we have long leads available so they can get the exercise they need. With guidance from you, I would be happy to help with training and socialising your dog to keep them in a routine as much as possible.

Scarlett and her partner were absolutely amazing looking after Sasha. They were really flexible with both drop off and pick up and their communication was great throughout, with regular pupdates 🐶 They kept her active, engaged, and really took the time to understand her individual needs. I could tell she was very happy and well looked after! Thank you 🐾

About: I have had pets most of my life and enjoy the time with them. I'm retired so have the time to spoil your pet while you enjoy knowing they are well looked after. Im retired and have quite a bit of spare time on my hands. I love having a chat with a dog while walking, its wonderful. My own cats are indoors only as I prefer the safety of this. I cannot have pets boarding at my home due to my own fur babies x

Teddy had a great time with Matthew and his partner during his daycare session - they were communicative, flexible around our drop off/ pick up needs, and kept us up to date with how Teddy was getting on. Teddy loved all the fuss he got, and the big secure garden to cool off in during the warm weather!

About: Home-from-home dog care in Preston with plenty of company, individual attention and your dog’s normal routine kept familiar. I work from home, so dogs are rarely left alone, with walks, feeding, play and rest all tailored around what they’re used to. I work a rotating shift pattern which gives me plenty of free time and several full days off at a time. I can plan my availability well in advance and fit walks, feeding, drop-in visits and pet sitting around your pet’s normal routine. I’m happy to follow established feeding, walking and medication schedules and will always discuss your pet’s routine with you beforehand. Your pet’s safety and comfort come first. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, keep doors and gates secure, use leads as requested and pay attention to anything that could cause a problem during walks or visits. When caring for a pet in their own home, I treat the property respectfully, keep everything secure and leave it as I found it. I’ll also keep you updated so you know how your pet is getting on.

About: Hello! Unlike some other sitters on Rover, i have a year of dog sitting experience and work experience in a kennels, cattery, riding school and small animal vet clinic. I have been caring for dogs ever since 2012 when i was around seven years old and have also had some experience with rabbits and birds around the age of 4 years old. During my work experience, i have learnt how to analyse basic animal behaviour well and have learnt how to follow a schedule of feeding times, medicine that need to be administered and how to meet the needs of both dogs and cats. I’ve helped with grooming and bathing at the kennels and i am patient at all times, giving space to animals when they need it. I am the type of pet sitter to give some advice to owners if i feel it may benefit the owners and the pet. For example, if i see your dog eats too quickly, i might recommend a slow feeding bowl to reduce chances of things such as GDV happening to your dog. I have helped two owners during my time as a pet sitter as i have noticed medical issues in their dogs such as signs of a urinary infection or epulis. If you do not want advice, please let me know beforehand as i do not tolerate rude behaviour. Im currently available at all times so whatever type of schedule you would like for your pet, i can work around. When a dog is in my own home and is sleeping over, i sleep nearby to make sure that they are comfortable and safe as that is my first priority. I give every dog at least one walk a day (or more if you would like) In my own home, i have an attached house which is kept clean at all times and it has a back garden with tall fences and no grass. Its a relatively big garden with lots of plants and vegetables around. I do have a dog of my own in the house who’s an eight year old Sproodle who is playful but is no threat to other dogs as she loves to greet them no matter the age. She is gentle with puppies and sleeps in her own bed in the kitchen. In my house, i live with two sisters and my mother. No matter the house im caring for your pet in, i will stick to a schedule and your rules however you prefer. I will make sure your pet is entertained and cared for well and will return home happy!

About: - I have my own insurance - I have my own puppy, currently 6 months old. - I care for my parents and neighbours dogs when needed. - Experience working with rescues, volunteering at local rescues since 12. - I worked in a zoo with all kinds of animals, lemurs and cotton top tamarins were my favourite. - Animal welfare is my priority. - I have a big fenced garden if required. - I do not have children, my home is me, my partner and my animals. I currently work nights shifts on a consistent pattern of 3 shifts on, 3 shifts off. My boyfriend is home at night, most of the time there is only 1 hour alone. I walk my dog as soon as I get home and then me and/or my boyfriend walk them again in the afternoon/evening time. On my days off I enjoy exploring and walking for longer periods. I have a set routine with my own animals to ensure their welfare needs are always met. I have worked in a zoo and on equine yards so I have experience checking boundaries are secure. I can follow specific instructions for individual pets as I understand how important routine and consistency can be for some.

About: If you are looking for a place for your dog to feel comfortable and well looked after I am a working from home dog mum to my Italian greyhound Cleo, with my schedule I have plenty of time in the day to take out your dog for lovely long walks and play time. Your dog will be treated as my own- with love, protection and care and will never be left alone. My house is clean , cosy and secure and Cleo would love a little companion in the day. Experienced owning small dog breeds and happy to look after your lively pup or older souls 🐶💜 I only board 1 dog at a time so they will have plenty of my care and attention during their stay with me 🐾 I work from home and have split days so I am available for a few hours every day to take your dog out with us on lovely walks and play dates. I like to take my own dog to open places away from cars and busy roads so she can enjoy a run but happy to also do lead walks if that is better suited to your pup. I am also available on weekends. I have a secured fenced and walled garden for your dog to enjoy ☺️ Your dog is free to sit and snooze on my sofa as they please or to have their own space if preferred.

Aaliyah looked after our miniature dachshund, Chorizo, for day care for the first time in preparation for a longer stay we have booked. She was very communicative beforehand and took on board my concerns (he has had IVDD so needs some extra care). She sent me several updates with pictures throughout the day and I could see how happy and settled Chorizo was in her home. He was happy to see us when we arrived to pick him up - but he didn't want to leave Aaliyah and her partner!! We are feeling very reassured ahead of him staying with her in July as we know he will be happy to go back and will be very well looked after.

Merlin had a fantastic day with Daniel. From the moment we arrived, he was so welcoming and reassuring, and it was clear Merlin was going to be very well looked after. The videos and photos Daniel sent from Merlin’s walk were brilliant and gave us real peace of mind, especially seeing how happy and settled he was. We would 100% recommend and will definitely be booking again. Thank you!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in South Ribble on Rover is £25.3 per day (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 2,360 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in South Ribble. About 88% of South Ribble sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your South Ribble commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
