About: I have both had dogs since our childhood, and currently have two friendly cocker spaniels. All my dog experience has been from pups, I even acted as midwife for my next door neighbours bitch giving birth 3 years ago! My location has a large country park at the end of the street, and woodland behind me which I manage as a volunteer warden. I have a dog friendly rear garden and my cockers love drinking from the barrel water feature. I have very tolerant pets and they happily engage with other visiting dogs, and a previous neighbours cat. I have an engaging daily routine for them, so much so I'm convinced my dogs can tell the time, when their next activity is due. I am a stay at home foster-dad, and my wife works, sometimes from home. I volunteer in my local community woodlands, and other institutions throughout the day but I estimate our dogs are not at home for more than 3 hours alone. Apart from a clean and secure rear garden, my home is partitioned in such a way that a scared visitor could have seclusion if required. I do have a crate in the kitchen, and my dogs use it for privacy/ sleep ( door open). If your dog would be anxious at night, then I can keep my dogs upstairs with me or they can remain in the kitchen to keep their visitor company. Whichever works.

About: I've always had a genuine love for animals and understand that every pet has their own personality, routine and needs. I take the time to get to know each pet so they feel safe, comfortable and cared for while you're away. Whether it's a playful puppy, an independent cat, or a senior pet who needs a little extra patience and attention, I provide calm, compassionate care tailored to them. I'm happy to stick to feeding schedules, administer basic medications if needed, provide plenty of exercise and enrichment, and most importantly, give lots of affection and reassurance. I know how important it is to trust someone with a beloved family member, so I'll always treat your pets as if they were my own. I'll also keep you updated with regular messages and photos, so you can relax knowing they're happy and well looked after. I work from home, which means I'm available throughout the day to provide plenty of attention, companionship and care. Whether your pet enjoys regular walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having someone nearby, they'll never be left feeling lonely. My flexible schedule allows me to accommodate most routines and give pets the time and attention they deserve. Your pet's safety, comfort and happiness are my top priorities. My home is clean, tidy and smoke-free indoors, with a secure fenced garden for supervised outdoor time and play. Larger dogs are welcome to enjoy the spacious downstairs living areas and garden, although the upstairs is kept off-limits for them. I'm lucky to live close to plenty of lovely walking routes, green spaces and adventure spots, perfect for keeping dogs active and engaged. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, gentle strolls or simply relaxing at home, I'll tailor their care to suit their needs. I also share my home with one friendly indoor cat (Koby the Bengal), so it's important that visiting pets are comfortable around cats. We are open to separating them for some shorter stays. There are no breed or size preferences, but for the safety and wellbeing of everyone, I can only accept pets that are non-aggressive and well behaved in the home environment. Most importantly, your pet will receive lots of affection, attention and companionship throughout their stay, day or night, cuddles are always included!

About: I have a deep love for dogs of all sizes and recently gave 11 years of wonderful care to my own beloved Rottweiler. I have always had large breeds, my favourite being the Rottweiler I am confident, patient, and very experienced with large breeds, senior dog care, and maintaining daily routines. I promise to treat your pet with the exact same love, respect, and attentive care that I gave my own. I am currently taking a university gap year for the next 13 months, so my daily schedule is completely open and highly flexible. I am available for morning, afternoon, or evening dog walking. Because I don't have rigid work commitments right now, I can easily accommodate your pet's preferred routine and be there for your beloved doggy. Safety is my absolute top priority when walking your dog or visiting your home. Having personally owned a large breed dog for 11 years, I know how crucial it is to stay highly alert to our surroundings. I keep all dogs securely on their leads, avoid unknown dogs, and carefully follow any specific handling instructions you provide. I am also completely respectful of your home, ensuring it is securely locked after every single visit.

About: I adopted my first dog at 14. He's now living the life with my mom abroad, but caring for him for so many years gave me invaluable experience and a deep connection with animals. I've also had the joy of dog sitting for friends and family, always ensuring their pets felt loved, safe, and happy. While I can’t have a pet in my current living space, being a pet sitter allows me to share my love for animals by providing top-quality care for your furry family members. I work full time as a people and wellbeing advisor so I am mainly available in the mornings or afternoons. I am always free on weekends. I work from home 4 days a week so I would be free for check in visits during the day. I am currently unable to dog sit at home due to request from my landlord. Hoping I can relocate soon so that I can look after pets at home too

Richard was an absolutely fantastic dog sitter, and I couldn’t recommend him more highly. From the moment we met him, it was clear how genuine his love for dogs is, and that really showed in the way he cared for mine. He was incredibly attentive, making sure my dog was comfortable, well exercised, and happy at all times. I really appreciated the regular updates and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious that my dog felt relaxed and safe in his care. Richard went above and beyond to stick to my dog’s routine and needs, and his reliability and professionalism made the whole experience stress free. I would not hesitate to use him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter.

About: About 20 years ago, our family got two miniature Schnauzers and I've been a dog lover ever since! Now that I've moved out and now live with my fiancee (Raissa, pictured) we miss having the company of dogs and before we get one of our own would like to trial having them in our lives on a more short term basis. We both work from home, so can have someone at home at all hours of the day. We have no children in the house and a secure garden. We have recent experience of looking after dogs for weeks at a time and know lots of good walks near our home too! Ideally looking for smaller hypoallergenic dogs, but would be open to other breeds. We both work full time for the same company with one office day required per week which we do on Weds and Thursday - so someone is always at home every week day. Generally we'd be able to take the dog out in the morning before work, at lunch, after work and evening if required. We have a back garden which is fenced and leads onto a quiet avenue. Generally keep dogs on lead until I can build up trust that it will come back on command. Will be cautious around other dogs without avoiding them and allowing social time when we've built up confidence. Love cuddles and playing in the house but won't allow dogs on the bed or the sofa without covers.

About: Pets have always been a part of my life - I have owned various different breeds, meaning I have a good understanding of the differences in their temperaments and needs. I am attentive, ensuring that I take the time to understand your pet and make sure they feel comfortable and safe in my home. I ensure I keep to your routines and feeding schedules and do not deviate from this without your consent. I am diligent with photos and communications - so you can rest assured that your pet is well. I welcome any and all communications and video calls for that extra bit of reassurance if needed. I have thorough experience with French Bulldogs, Including their health and fitness, training and their bubbly boisterous natures! My home is Frenchie proof (this applies to other sensitive breeds aswell) - including ramps to prevent jumping, a paddling pool, cooling mats and fans for the warmer weather to prevent heatstroke. We have a large and secure back garden that is clean and hazard free. I am approximately 8 minutes away from vets now in Bury in the event of any emergency, and I drive. I also have a local vet less than 5 minutes away. I make sure your pet comes home happy, healthy, and excited to see you! My boy Biggie is now 6 years old, he has a heart condition that requires daily medication and monitoring. He is fully vaccinated and up to date on worming and flea treatments-he is friendly and loves nothing more than to play with a friend. In terms of health, I am keenly aware of the pets wellbeing and would rather err on the side of caution than take any risk. I can promise a safe, loving stay with lots of updates. I have chosen to only accept smaller dogs for the time being as I have an 11 month old daughter who is very active and curious and also loves doggies! Please feel free to ask any and all questions - I understand that our pets are truly as precious to us as our own children. I stay home all day every day with my daughter and Biggie - we are up for 7 am every day and I fit walks and pet care in and around her schedule. I have an extra secure fenced garden, ramps to our beds and the sofa to prevent jumping, cameras in the garden for extra security, I clean dog bowls every evening and provide fresh water regularly.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Bolton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Bolton on Rover is £25.3 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 2,556 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Bolton. About 87% of Bolton sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Bolton commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
