About: I’ve always loved animals and really enjoy spending time with dogs. We have a dog of our own, a 20-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer, so I’m very used to energetic dogs who need plenty of exercise, attention, and routine. I understand how important it is to feel confident that your dog is being properly looked after while you’re away. I’m happy to help with walks, feeding, playtime, cuddles, and keeping to your dog’s usual routine as much as possible. I’ll treat your dog with the same care and attention I give my own, and I’m always happy to send updates and photos so you know how they’re getting on. Pet care fits really naturally into my routine. I work from home, so I’m around during the day and able to give dogs plenty of company, attention, toilet breaks, and care. We also have our own 20-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer, so daily walks, feeding, playtime, and keeping a good routine are already part of everyday life for us. We especially love weekend walks with the dog, so I’m very used to active dogs who enjoy getting out, having a good run around, and then relaxing afterwards I know it’s a big deal trusting someone with your dog, so I’d always look after them like I do my own. At home, I’d make sure they’re safe, comfortable and kept to their usual routine as much as possible — walks, food, toilet breaks, sleeping arrangements and anything else they’re used to. We have a 20-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer, so I’m used to active dogs and would always make sure introductions are done slowly and carefully. We have a fenced garden and our dog crate trained too
About: For as long as I can remember, there has always been a dog in our house. Years with my beloved fur baby have taught me how to care, play and understand what he needs. I am a great lover of animals and taking care of them is a pleasure. I only work a few hours on Saturdays, so I have a lot of time to take care of another dog. Lots of beautiful areas for walks are a big advantage of the place where I live. A lot of space in the house, a large fenced garden, a friendly dog for walks and games together, make your dog happy and safe.
About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up with my aunt, who worked as a dog sitter in her retirement, I learned early on how to care for dogs of all sizes and personalities. I also spent six months volunteering at a dog training centre, where I helped with both puppies and older dogs — from basic obedience to confidence-building exercises. Over the years, I’ve dog-sat for friends and family, making sure every pet felt safe, loved, and at home while their owners were away. I genuinely love spending time with animals and treat every dog I look after like part of my own family. I currently work part time from home so I have plenty of time to play with your pups during the week! On certain weekends I am out of the house from 9am-5pm however we have a work from home family so there is always someone in the house to keep your pups occupied and give them toilet breaks! When caring for pets, I make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved — whether they’re in my home or their own. At my home, I have a secure fenced garden where dogs can enjoy supervised outdoor time. I also live very close to a fully fenced field, which is perfect for walks, playtime, and exercise. I have a friendly dog who loves meeting new furry friends and is great at keeping them company. I always follow each owner’s routine as closely as possible — including feeding schedules, walk times, and any special care instructions — to make sure every pet feels at home and well cared for.

“Monty has just come back from another few days of doggy day care. As usual, we received plenty of videos of his adventures. They are the most caring people we have ever met when it comes to dogs. We can’t recommend them enough and feel so lucky they are in the same town as us. Always flexible with their times. Monty loves his time there and can’t wait to get in their garden as soon as we approach their street, he knows exactly where he’s going, for a day of fun and a catch up with Ted and Logan! Thank you”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received! Barfi had an amazing time, and I loved getting updates and videos of her playing with other dogs. It was clear she was in great hands and having a blast. The sitter was attentive, caring, and made sure Barfi felt right at home. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and loving dog sitter!”

“Bailey had such a lovely time, and had been looked after in such an accommodating and caring way. She was introduced slowly to the cocker and golden retriever, and we felt she was in safe hands throughout her stay. Thank you so much!”

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
