“Hektor & Charlie had a great time!! Amanda and Jon are great. Charlie has stayed before but this was Hektor's first time - as a 46kg German Shepherd, he can be a handful but we felt very much at ease and knew they were in good hands. They both had a great time and we could enjoy our holiday! Thanks again to you both ❤️”

“David looked after our dog Tia for 2 nights whilst we went away. I felt very comfortable leaving Tia with him and knew she was going to get the best care. A very trustworthy dog sitter!”
“From the first meet and greet with Christine And RAY I knew this was the right place for Charlie. They were fabulous they spoilt him like he was their own. We got daily photos videos and updates. I could see he was very happy, this is where Charlie will be going when we go on our next holiday 100%. Thank you both so very much for taking such good care of our little boy”

About: We have a 3 year old cocker spaniel Teddy who we’ve raised since a pup he’s the most loving boy and so so playful just looking for others to join us on walks play dates or playing in the garden! I currently work full time but do 3 days from home! Our boy gets walked 3 times a day and so would yours! We love to go out and enjoy sunrise or sunset walks. I have a fenced garden for the dogs to play in, Teddy will be happy to play and keep them company all day! We allow dogs inside, on furniture and upstairs in our home!

“Bernie has loved his time with Nikki and friends so much that he didn’t want to come home and we’re now getting the cold shoulder! Really friendly and accommodating, has obviously treated Bernie with love and care like one of her own and that’s all you can ask when you leave your little guy with someone else. It was Bernie’s first time staying away from us and we were nervous but there was no need….Plenty of updates, fully reassured that he was having a great time. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Nikki, and Bernie would definitely agree! We’ll be back!”

“Thank you both for taking such care of him. From the videos and pictures you sent we could see how much he had settled in and how much he was enjoying himself. I'm sure he enjoyed his holiday as much as we enjoyed ours. He'll definitely be back”

“We cannot recommend Joanne enough. We had never used a dog sitter before for our pet. Milo is 16 1/2 years old and virtually blind and deaf so we were very worried and anxious about leaving him.. After meeting Joanne our minds were but at ease and Milo seemed happy and comfortable in her home. She is welcoming, caring and understanding to his needs. Joanne kept us informed and sent us pics and updates of our boy. She was so caring and loving to him and I am so thankful to her for looking after him while we celebrated a special family holiday . Thank you again so much Milo had a happy stay. 🐶xx”

“Kayley and Milly were fantastic with Goose. It was obvious from the start that they really care about the dogs they look after, and Goose settled in straight away :) They took great care of him and kept me updated, which was really appreciated. It was also lovely that Goose got to spend time with their dogs, Mabel and Ralph. They’re both such lovely dogs and Goose clearly had a great time playing with them. Goose came home very happy and well looked after. I’d happily book with Kayley and Milly again and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to look after their dog, thanks so much xx”

Please note that your pup may be left for up to 6 hours (weekday only) due to work. They will be left with Neil who is a very well behaved boy and loves other dogs :) I have a camera so that I can keep an eye on them and I only work 10 minutes away. Dogs are allowed free roam of the house. I have a secure back garden which can be used for toilet breaks, however they will be taken for walks to the field nearby or to explore the local country park.
“As usual, Pixie was so happy to stay with Lin! Nothing is ever too much trouble and daily communication is great. Pixie can’t wait for her next stay! Thanks again Lin x”

“I have not enough words to thank Ghada. She was simply amazing. Her love towards pet has surrpised us! If i can bd honest, she looked after our Bruno better than what we do. She kept us updated everyday. Took him to daily walks, cleaned him regularly, played with him. First time I think Bruno felt more love in someone else house. We thank her a lot for giving so much love and care to Bruno”

“Daniel was absolutely great. Eva loved her stay and I would recommend Daniel to anyone. Daniel sent updates with photos which is always reassuring to see. Hope to use again & big thanks from Eva.”

“My 14yr old Dachshund had a weekend stay with Julie following his companion of 12yrs passing away. He was very depressed and not himself at all and I wasnt going to go to my plans initially. I then came across Julie and she seemed so lovely. During the initial visit she was calm and kind and Ziggy seemed right at home. She was sp accommodating when I explained that I had to leave earlier and said it was okay he could go. She sent me regular updates and pictures to reassure me that Ziggy was okay. He looked like he has a smashing time and was cared for very well. He's got a little bit of himself back and I would rebook Julie for future plans 🖤 thankyou”

“Fiona and her family have looked after my Shih Tzu for both day care and overnight stays and I'm hoping they will do so again on many occasions to come. I couldn't be more pleased with the care and attention they show. It's a great relief to know I can leave my dog in such good hands.”

“Beth and Ross made me feel at ease, as soon as I dropped Snoop off. You can tell they are absolute dog lovers, and snoop took to them instantly. I received plenty of updates and pictures whilst I was away, and they seemed upset to see him go. I will 100% use them when I next need a dog sitter.”

“Where do we begin… right from the initial communication Georgina and Stu were fantastic, answering all our questions and putting our minds at rest. It was our first time using a dog sitter, so we were quite apprehensive, but the service we received was amazing. Georgina and Stuart initiated a meet and greet and then a visit again closer to booking which really helped us. Our beautiful girl Nellie loved her time with them and they kept us updated several times a day with videos and photos which were greatly appreciated. They kept to Nellie’s routines, administered her ear drops for us and took really good care of her as if she were their own. We would definitely use them again if they’ll have us and would highly recommend.”

Sam was very well cared for in a particularly hot heatwave. He was walked early in the morning to avoid the heat and I’m grateful for that. I received lots of updates during his stay including on walks and when playing. I will definitely use Jamila for boarding again. Thank you.

Christine and Ray were fantastic with Ivan our schnauzer, you could tell on meeting them they love dogs. They provide a great environment for any dog and plenty of walks and regular updates to let you know your your pet is being well cared for, I would have no problem leaving Ivan in there care again. Ian

Amanda and John were brilliant with Bernie. They clearly love dogs and are so welcoming - he didn’t want to let them out of his sight when we collected him and drove away! Updated throughout, which is always reassuring as we hate leaving him but makes it so much easier when you know he’s having a great time. Thank you, I’m sure Bernie would love to come and see you again!

Alex looked after my dog for 10 days while we were on holiday. It was my first time leaving him with anyone other than family and I’m so glad I found Alex. From our first message everything was so easy and she was kind enough to send us updates while we were away too. I will 100% be using Alex again and would recommend to anyone. Thanks Alex ☺️
Our Reggie was well looked after whilst staying with Rebecca. Regular updates showed him having a good time and can see he really enjoyed being with his new friends. I would 100% recommend and I will definitely ask for him to return, I think Reggie is missing them already xx

Alex was amazing from our first meet & greet right the way through Goose’s stay! Goose immediately felt right at home with Alex, loved pottering around the house and being nosey from his first visit :) Alex was fantastic with communication and updates all through the time Goose was there and was also super sweet when he destroyed his fave toy and left the remains all over the carpet 🤦🏼♀️! Thank you so much Alex, Goose would love to stay with you again :) xx

Joanne is such a lovely person felt at ease from the moment I met her and knew that my dog Ruby would be in safe hands, Joanne has sent lots of pictures and updates whilst I have been away. I appreciate that she has spent a lot of time with her and took her out for nice walks. Ruby, Jack Russell has been well looked after from the outset. Would not hesitate to ask her again.

This was the first time I’ve used a dog sitter and I was blown away by how happy my boy Sergio was while I was away. I received daily photos and videos the whole two weeks. Malgorzata and her husband gave my boy 5 star treatment and he had other dogs to play with. I had peace of mind the whole time and can’t thank them enough. I will definitely be using them next year.

Holly was absolutely excellent, I’d highly recommend! It was our first time leaving Bertie with a sitter but Holly made us feel completely at ease and confident from the first initial intro call to the morning we picked him up. Holly kept us up to date throughout Bertie’s time with her, sending pictures and messages at regular intervals. It was evident when we dropped Bertie off and when we picked him up that he was fully comfortable and had a brilliant time. We will definitely be using Holly the next time we need a sitter!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
