“Both Rob and Graeme become family! They really care and look after Luna as their own, and I cannot describe how much we do appreciate what they do for us. They always do the right arrangements to help me and my partner to the drop and collection so it will be easier for us. You guys are amazing. Thank you.”

“Just like to say what a great time cooper had playing with his new friends ralphie and mabel, milly and kayley treated him like their own which was so reassuring for us. We will definitely be going back the next time we go on a trip knowing what kind and compassionate people they are. Thank you so much again. See you soon Rik & Deb”

“This was the first time we have used this family. As soon as I met them I knew Teddy was in safe hands. I received regular contact and some nice photos showing Teddy was being walked and made to feel welcome. 5 stars from me and a huge thank you for looking after Teddy.”

“I booked with Mus when our existing dog sitter cancelled with 2 weeks notice. Mus was more than happy to accommodate this last minute booking on a Bank Holiday weekend, which was a great relief. Mus & her family made us very welcome when we arrived with our dogs. It was clear Mus was a very competent dog boarder & she put my mind at rest within a short time of arriving. She kept me updated within an hour of leaving her house & continually sent messages and photos during their stay. I can highly recommend Mus as a dog sitter.”

“This is the first time I have used Rover I was really pleased with how Rubys visit wirh Jamila went! Jamila was really friendly and Ruby took to her right away! Jamila gave me lots of photo and video updates while we were away which was great I would 100% recommend Jamila and will be asking for Ruby to stay again in the future thank you Jamila x”

“Dan is amazing. His genuine love for dogs really shows: he’s patient, caring, and always puts the dog’s needs first (even if that means playing fetch for the 100th time). Our rescue Belgian Malinois, Apple, stayed with him for two weeks over Christmas and he handled her reactivity and need for a slow introduction perfectly and Apple now runs toward Dan, which says everything. By the time we left for our holiday leaving her behind for the first time, all my worries were gone. We picked her up happy, clean, and with everything neatly packed. Dan is the best, highly recommend.”

“Amanda and John were first class in looking after Luna. They are a very friendly couple and were very welcoming to her. She had a great time with them and they kept us updated on her time with lots of photos. We were very worried about leaving Luna with anyone but they put us completely at ease. We would not hesitate to recommend them.”

“Steve was an amazing dog sitter for Albi! From the start, he made me feel completely at ease, and it’s clear Albi had the best time. I received plenty of fantastic photos, and it was lovely to see Albi enjoying lots of walks and attention. I can tell he was really well looked after, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Steve again. Highly recommend!”

“Karen and her family have been brilliant from start to finish! This was our first time leaving Daisy on her own, as she is still a puppy I was worried she might not settle without us being there. We had full reassurance within an hour after leaving her, we got sent lots of pictures and videos of Daisy having fun with the other doggies! She ate every day and slept through the night. Endless cuddles and playing was just what we wanted to see. Daisy stayed over during valentines, we got sent a picture of Daisy with some balloons saying “I love you” which was a super sweet gesture it really made us smile. We could tell Daisy absolutely loved her stay, she was able to show her full personality and have her own little holiday! Karen was very accommodating with drop off / pick up times and had all of Daisy’s stuff ready for when we collected her. Thanks so much Karen, Daisy will be back 😁X”

“Phil, took care of Frankie for a few days for me at short notice. Phil was very responsive to messages and provided updates throughout the stay. Frankie seemed really happy with her stay. Happy to use Phil again the future.”

“Maryana took really good care of our dog Henry over the weekend. She sent us lots of updates and pictures showing him having a great time including taking him on plenty of walks in the park. We would highly recommend Maryana to anyone looking for dog boarding.”

“Teddy and Oscar started with a meet and greet and I knew immediately Tracy and Dani would take good care of my boys, we than agreed and overnight stay to make sure the boys settled, I needn’t have worried, they settled in perfectly, it was like they’d always been there 😄 Tracy and Dani were so attentive, kind and caring. I got regular updates and pictures throughout the day which was so reassuring. I picked them up this morning and I think they would have quite happily stayed with Tracy and Dani. They are staying next week and I can go away confident and relaxed knowing my boys are in the best place and will be well looked after.. thank you so much Ladies, Highly recommended 🤩”

“Nikki was absolutely amazing!! She sent pics, videos and updated us daily. I have no doubt in recommending Nikki and will definitely use her again. Our cockapoo had the BEST time!!”

“We were nervous about leaving our rescue staffie Ty for two nights as we have only had him for 7 months and he had been in the dogs home for 6 months. Clare was very friendly and it was obvious that Clare loves her own dog Ruby and put us at ease right away. Clare sent us lots of pictures of Ty on walks with her dog and playing in the garden in a paddling pool during the extremely hot weather. I would not hesitate to have Clare look after Ty again.”

“Gemma looked after Betty brilliantly, our dog got on very well with their Westie, we received regular updates and we were very relaxed about leaving our dog with someone trustworthy. Many thanks!! Will definitely use this service again!!”

“Valeria has been more than amazing with my pet, Fifi. Fifi can sometimes react to other dogs, so I really appreciated that Valeria kindly offered a meet and greet to gently introduce Fifi to her dog, Johnny—who is super cute, by the way! After that, we arranged a daycare session and everything went so smoothly. I also had some last-minute changes, and Valeria kindly did her best to accommodate me, which I truly appreciated. She kept me reassured throughout the day by sending regular photo updates of Fifi, which I really loved. Her communication was perfect from start to finish, and I felt completely at ease knowing Fifi was in such good hands. I would highly recommend Valeria to anyone looking for a caring, thoughtful, and reliable pet sitter.”

Joanne was incredible! This was the first time we had left both of our dogs, the eldest being almost 10. Joanne was amazingly reassuring from the start, answering all of our questions and offering to meet before the stay. During the time Morris and Elsie spent with Joanne, we received lots of updates reassuring us that they were very well looked after and settled. We will absolutely book with Joanne again.

Amanda and John were brilliant with Bernie. They clearly love dogs and are so welcoming - he didn’t want to let them out of his sight when we collected him and drove away! Updated throughout, which is always reassuring as we hate leaving him but makes it so much easier when you know he’s having a great time. Thank you, I’m sure Bernie would love to come and see you again!

Our Reggie was well looked after whilst staying with Rebecca. Regular updates showed him having a good time and can see he really enjoyed being with his new friends. I would 100% recommend and I will definitely ask for him to return, I think Reggie is missing them already xx

Alex was amazing from our first meet & greet right the way through Goose’s stay! Goose immediately felt right at home with Alex, loved pottering around the house and being nosey from his first visit :) Alex was fantastic with communication and updates all through the time Goose was there and was also super sweet when he destroyed his fave toy and left the remains all over the carpet 🤦🏼♀️! Thank you so much Alex, Goose would love to stay with you again :) xx

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
