“Daniel and family were so accommodating. They made Marlowe feel very welcome and took him on some great walks. We were sent some photos while Marlowe was away that clearly showed how relaxed Marlowe was in their company. Marlowe will be back! Thank you.”

“The best sitters we’ve used. It’s clear Jenna and her lovely daughter took the best care of Ted. Super friendly, lovely communication and it looks like he had a great time. Would happily recommend but don’t want them to be so popular they can’t look after Ted again!”

“Dear Neda, we never worried a minute while We were away from home because you had all in your control. Neda has been an absolute blessing! I loved how Neda pays attention to details,She wanted to make sure that she knew my little guy.she is prompt, reliable, trustworthy and will update me when I'm out of town which is always comforting. Friendly, kind, and amazing personality, which my dog loves her very much, and when Prince come-back home, it seems clean and well looked after . I highly recommend it and we don't know what we would do without her !Thanks again for looking after our boy .”

“Sarah was wonderful with Max and is clearly very experienced in looking after dogs. She has a big box of toys which he loved and he settled in straightaway. I would be really happy for Max to stay with Sarah again.”

“Amanda was fantastic - she treated Buddy as if he was her own and provided regular updates throughout his stay. He’ll definitely be coming back! Would highly recommend.”

“Natalie and Marco were so lovely and made me feel really comfortable leaving Bruno with them. We received lots of pictures and updates so could relax on our holiday knowing he was happy and being well looked after. Thanks again to you both!”

“Laura and Jonny took such wonderful care of my elderly dog, Poppy, for 13 nights. Poppy is 14½ and has quite a few medical needs, requiring medication several times a day and a strict diet due to allergies, none of this fazed them in the slightest. They really took the time to get to know Poppy and understand her routine, and they were happy to stick to it even though it was different from what they do with their own dog. I received plenty of photo updates, which was lovely. I felt completely at ease knowing she was in such kind, capable hands. I have absolutely no qualms about recommending them to take care of anyone else’s dogs.”

“Otis had a great time staying with Megan and his new pal Woody 🐶 he stayed overnight whilst I was working away and Megan kept me updated throughout the two days. I felt at ease leaving him and he can’t wait for his next stay with them!”

“Another brilliant time for Amos spent with Ed & his family. Our boy enjoyed his weekend away & came back exhausted & happy! Ed also sent lots of photos to show us what they were up towards”

“Kate and Matt were great I had no concerns or worries about Susi. I was sent photos and anything that needed to be communicated was done so. A lovely friendly and confident dog sitter. So happy to pick up a happy relaxed Susi. Thank you”

“Thank you Michael for looking after our Precious Ruby! You have taken the best care of her and she was truly relaxed and happy on our arrival. You also gave us daily updates on how she was doing, you were considerate and mindful of her fear of fireworks as we were away for bonfire night. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you or use you again if we go away!”

“Sarah was lovely and brilliant with Drake. I was kept updated regularly throughout his stay. When I picked him up he was very excited to see me (which you would hope for) but also seemed very happy and relaxed in his temporary home.”

“This is the 2nd time Mylo has stayed with Nicole, Thank you for taking such great care of Mylo. Mylo was looked after wonderfully, and the photo updates were very much appreciated. Mylo will definitely be back!”

About: I have grown up with dogs all my life, different sizes and breeds. I used to volunteer on a shelter from the age of 16 when I was still living in Spain, and I also helped my brother with his dog business when I was at home. I groom my own dog and I have groomed other dogs too :) I brought my 13 year old Cocker Spaniel to Manchester with me in 2015. He's still by my side, he's getting old and is castrated, he's a very relaxed good boy :) I gave up on my career 2 years ago due to motherhood. Not planning to go back to my office days. Plenty of time in my hands to allow for flexibility and the right care for your pet. :) I'm currently off work as I have been taking on a career break to extend my child's care. She's now attending to nursery. With 3 days notice to get organised, I can be available anytime, on a daily/weekly basis. Hello! I'm Blanca, I am based in Carrington, with beautiful fields and countryside at the door step of my house, which also has a very good sized garden. I gave up on my career to extend my child's care, but now she's going to nursery and she's on 50/50 shared care. I own a 13 years old Cocker Spaniel, and I have owned other breeds in the past when I used to live at home (German shepherd, Jack Russell & Pitbull). I enjoy spending time with dogs and even though I do not hold any professional certification, I would be able to guarantee the best care for your pet. As a Spanish woman living in Manchester for the past 12 years, I know how important it is to find someone reliable and truly caring to look after your best friend, especially when you have no family members to support you with this. I have been on the other side for many years when I was working in the office or when needing to travel back home. Whether you need dog walks, night care or full day care while away, I can be here for you to offer that top-notch support so your pets always feel loved and cared for in a warm and welcoming environment for them. My services include attentive pet sitting tailored to your pet's needs. From fun play sessions to relaxing walks, your dogs will receive the best care possible. With my experience and devotion, you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are in good hands. If you're interested in personalized pet care and want to discuss your needs further, feel free to message me

“Sophie started with Sabrina family for a week. She loved all family and new family dog Bree. Sabrina everyday sent us photos and little videos about our dog how she was doing. I felt that she is in safe hands and looks after very very well. Definitely I will use Sabrina again. Thank you very very much”

“Sparky looked like he had a fabulous time with Francesca while we were away for afew days. Lots of updates which put our mind at ease. Will book again. Thanks so much! 🐶”

“I had Turbo stay with Tiago for 5 days and it was like sending my dog to an all-inclusive holiday! Tiago is more than Turbo's dogsitter he is Turbo's friend! Tiago showed great care for my dog by following all of the instructions, played with him and made him feel safe in a new environment. My dog didn't even cry when I handed him over to Tiago and I instantly felt convinced my dog was in good hands. There's not a single thing I wish Tiago did differently. I am going to book Tiago again for sure!”

Marco and Natalie were absolutely brilliant with Lulu. They sent lots of sweet photos and updates, which was really reassuring, and she clearly had a great time with them. She looked completely relaxed and happy throughout, and came back super chilled. Thank you both so much — I’d happily book with you again.

From the first interactions with Dave and June we knew we had struck it lucky. Ava our miniature Schnoodle was welcomed for an initial visit and it was clear that she felt immediately at home. Dave and June looked after Ava for a week just as if she was part of the family. From welcoming her with Dave’s special chicken treat, accommodating her need to find any and all tennis balls hidden in the house to daily updates with photos and descriptions of the day’s activities. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough and are already planning to rebook in the near future! Thanks again Dave and June x
Another fantastic stay for Otto with Sarah and Kevin and another holiday where we have not had to worry about him one bit! Sarah kindly sent daily updates and I love that we are also told how Otto has been behaving. Sarah and Kevin took such great care of Otto, he was again reluctant to leave. It was great to hear how quickly he settled with them and from the updates we saw, he clearly made himself feel right at home! Thank you, again, Sarah and Kevin!!! Now enjoy not finding dog hair in every inch of your house 🤣

Megan and her husband were amazing with Abloh. We felt very comfortable with the idea of leaving him from our introduction meeting and knew he would be in safe hands. He came home as happy and lively as we had left him and we felt reassured by the regular updates and great communication. I would highly recommend these two as your dog will be loved and their dog Woody was a great little companion for Abloh so we knew he would feel very at ease.

We couldn’t have asked for better dog minders for our two very large puppies than Harry and Ellie, genuine love and care, daily photos and updates, highly recommended and would definitely and will be using their services again, Frank and Ernie are missing them already xx

highly recommend Francesca, she took excellent care of Coco and kept me updated with regular photos and messages, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. Coco was happy, well exercised, and clearly received lots of attention and affection. It is obvious Francesca genuinely cares about animals and treats them like her own. I would not hesitate to book again and would recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and caring dog sitter.

Holly is a great boarder. She asked all the right questions to make sure she fully understood Casper's needs before looking after him. She took him on nice walks and sent pictures of him out and about as well as settled at home. I was able to relax on holiday, confident that he was being well looked after!

Max had a wonderful time with Terri, James, Jack and Archie! He was spoilt and fussed over and really well looked after. They sent pictures and videos of him on his walks and playing in the garden and sleeping - his favourite hobby!! Thanks again for stepping in at the last minute and taking great care of our baby! 😍

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
