“Daniel and family were so accommodating. They made Marlowe feel very welcome and took him on some great walks. We were sent some photos while Marlowe was away that clearly showed how relaxed Marlowe was in their company. Marlowe will be back! Thank you.”

“The best sitters we’ve used. It’s clear Jenna and her lovely daughter took the best care of Ted. Super friendly, lovely communication and it looks like he had a great time. Would happily recommend but don’t want them to be so popular they can’t look after Ted again!”

“Neda was BRILLIANT and my puppy Muriel had an amazing time staying with her and her family. Very well cared for, lots of pictures and feedback during her stay. Can’t recommend her enough! Thanks again Neda! X”

“Amanda was fantastic - she treated Buddy as if he was her own and provided regular updates throughout his stay. He’ll definitely be coming back! Would highly recommend.”

“First time I have used this, was nervous leaving my dog but couldn’t have left him with a nicer couple. Kept us updated on how he was and Ronnie had a great time, thankyou so so much x”

About: I’m a dog lover with two friendly 9-year-old dogs of my own. I have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs through all life stages, from playful puppies to relaxed seniors. Daily walks, outdoor time, and plenty of attention are part of our routine. I understand the importance of exercise, stimulation, and downtime, and I always make sure dogs in my care feel safe, happy, and well looked after. My main availability is at weekends for dog walking and sitting. I can also accommodate weekday bookings for walks or overnight sitting with advance notice, particularly for longer or pre-arranged stays. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my priority. I have a fully enclosed garden for secure outdoor time, and two small, friendly dogs who can provide companionship and help your dog settle in and feel relaxed in a welcoming home environment.
“Another fantastic stay for Otto with Sarah and Kevin and another holiday where we have not had to worry about him one bit! Sarah kindly sent daily updates and I love that we are also told how Otto has been behaving. Sarah and Kevin took such great care of Otto, he was again reluctant to leave. It was great to hear how quickly he settled with them and from the updates we saw, he clearly made himself feel right at home! Thank you, again, Sarah and Kevin!!! Now enjoy not finding dog hair in every inch of your house 🤣”

“Our dog Gloria had a lovely stay with Megan, we often worry because Gloria can be a little bit of a diva and has some separation anxiety. But Megan was great with her and adapted to her needs. She kept us up to date with how she was getting on too which made us feel really at ease. Would definitely like to book her in to stay again and would definitely recommend Megan.”

“This is the 2nd time Mylo has stayed with Nicole, Thank you for taking such great care of Mylo. Mylo was looked after wonderfully, and the photo updates were very much appreciated. Mylo will definitely be back!”

“Edwin and his family are classed as our second home for George and we feel so relaxed knowing George is being looked after. The daily photos and updates are a really nice touch too and can clearly see in the photos George was having a great time! Thank you Edwin and family see you in October 😬”

“Hannah looked after my GSD 'Luna' for two nights. Hannah was amazing in the care she gave to Luna and the wonderful updates and photos she shared with me along the way. Luna came home happy. Thank you :-)”

“Matthew was excellent with my dog, Luca. I immediately got a sense of calm when I went to visit before her stay which is important for her as she can be quite anxious, but I knew from then on that she would have the best time, especially when Matthew asked if she liked long walks. You can tell they are a family of genuine dog lovers and they went out of their way to make sure that Luca’s stay was as enjoyable as possible. I highly recommend Matthew!!”

“Thank you Michael for looking after our Precious Ruby! You have taken the best care of her and she was truly relaxed and happy on our arrival. You also gave us daily updates on how she was doing, you were considerate and mindful of her fear of fireworks as we were away for bonfire night. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you or use you again if we go away!”

“Jayne, Wayne and Tom were fantastic with Ludo. He is a very nervous dog and they were kind and gentle with him. We're very grateful for them having him and will definitely use them again.”

“I had Turbo stay with Tiago for 5 days and it was like sending my dog to an all-inclusive holiday! Tiago is more than Turbo's dogsitter he is Turbo's friend! Tiago showed great care for my dog by following all of the instructions, played with him and made him feel safe in a new environment. My dog didn't even cry when I handed him over to Tiago and I instantly felt convinced my dog was in good hands. There's not a single thing I wish Tiago did differently. I am going to book Tiago again for sure!”

“Sarah was brilliant with our quiet, needy rescue dog, made her feel at home, got her out for a walk (she will refuse if she's not happy!) - we can't recommend her highly enough.”

Amelia and Loui did an amazing job of looking after Ethel. We are really pleased with the level of care given both before the booking and during Ethel’s stay. They included her in there day to day activities which is brilliant… sorry you ended up carrying her ! Ethel Was clearly happy at their house which speaks volumes. Fantastic couple who clearly love dogs and do a great job. Highly recommended . Thanks Ben & Emma

From the very first contact, Melissa and Steve were friendly and welcoming. Replied to any queries quickly and sent loads of photos and updates during our 5 year old Labradors stay so we could be sure he was settled and happy. Wouldn’t hesitate to use again, thank you 😊

Dawn is an amazing carer. My little rescue dog spent 10 nights with Dawn, he has had the best time. Regular updates and photos sent to me whilst away. Roman has been so beautifully looked after and I'm very glad to have found Dawn. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dawn's services. Thank you so much.

Penny had a lovely weeks stay with Sarah and Kevin and was made to feel very welcome in their home, greeted on arrival by a box of toys to choose from and treats on hand😊 She had daily walks and the chance to follow her favourite hobby of squirrel watching! I received daily updates and photos, happy dog, happy owner! Thank you both, hope to see you again next holiday!😊

Marco and Natalie were absolutely brilliant with Lulu. They sent lots of sweet photos and updates, which was really reassuring, and she clearly had a great time with them. She looked completely relaxed and happy throughout, and came back super chilled. Thank you both so much — I’d happily book with you again.

From the first interactions with Dave and June we knew we had struck it lucky. Ava our miniature Schnoodle was welcomed for an initial visit and it was clear that she felt immediately at home. Dave and June looked after Ava for a week just as if she was part of the family. From welcoming her with Dave’s special chicken treat, accommodating her need to find any and all tennis balls hidden in the house to daily updates with photos and descriptions of the day’s activities. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough and are already planning to rebook in the near future! Thanks again Dave and June x
Megan and her husband were amazing with Abloh. We felt very comfortable with the idea of leaving him from our introduction meeting and knew he would be in safe hands. He came home as happy and lively as we had left him and we felt reassured by the regular updates and great communication. I would highly recommend these two as your dog will be loved and their dog Woody was a great little companion for Abloh so we knew he would feel very at ease.

We couldn’t have asked for better dog minders for our two very large puppies than Harry and Ellie, genuine love and care, daily photos and updates, highly recommended and would definitely and will be using their services again, Frank and Ernie are missing them already xx

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
