“I was sceptical about this app until I met Bettyna. She had my labrador girl Olivia for 3 days and she was sending me updates and pictures everyday. I am very happy with her services and I'm truly happy I have my peace of mind now when I need to travel. In fact booked her already for the second time💯”

“Freddie stayed for 9 nights. We were sent daily updates with photos and video where we could see that he was being very well cared for. Would definitely recommend x”

“Bruna looked after our puppy Luna for 11 nights. We did an initial meet and greet and straight away knew Luna would be well cared for with Bruna and her family. We received daily updates and photos whilst we were away and felt very reassured. Luna is only a young puppy and high energy but Bruna continued with our routine and training methods whilst we were away. I would definitely use Bruna again to look after our dog and would recommend her to any dog owners. X”

“Sarah was brilliant with my dog who is quite anxious and fussy! My dog had the best adventures and so much attention that I don’t think he missed us. I loved seeing the pictures of what they were getting up to and we were able to relax knowing he was well cared for. Thank you so much Sarah”

“Claire looked after Milo at short notice for a day and an over night stay. This was Milo’s first time away from family so I wasn’t sure what to expect but straight away, Claire put my mind at ease. Milo settled quickly and loved spending time with Claire, Lottie and the other dogs. Claire took Milo out on several walks and played lots of games with him and gave me regular updates. She treated Milo like family and is a very genuine, caring person. Milo loved his time with Claire and we will definitely be coming back soon! Thank you!”

“I couldn’t recommend Olaniyi enough. This was my first time leaving Bailey with him and, naturally, I was a little worried about how he would settle, but Olaniyi was absolutely brilliant with him. He kept me updated throughout our holiday with messages and photos, which really gave me peace of mind. Bailey was initially a little nervous and even fussy with his food, but Olaniyi was so patient with him, took the time to understand him and even found a food he enjoyed. By the end of his stay, Bailey was completely settled, happy and following him everywhere! 😂❤️ It was obvious when we collected Bailey that he had been genuinely cared for and treated like part of the family. I would happily leave Bailey with Olaniyi again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone kind, patient and trustworthy to care for their dog. Thank you again! 🐶❤️”

“Nicola and Rebecca were absolutely great hosts for our little Lenny. He is only a pup so we were very nervous about leaving him for the first time. They kept in constant contact with photos and updates which kept our mind at ease and showed us how much fun Lenny was having but importantly how well looked after he was. Thanks again Nicola and Rebecca, Lenny had a great time.”

“Buzz had a great time with Chrissie! He had regular walks and plenty of cuddles whilst he was there, which are his two favourite things! We were kept updated and sent photos of his stay, which put us at ease as he hadn’t stayed with Chrissie before. Would highly recommend Chrissie to anyone looking for someone to have their dog well loved and looked after whilst they are away. We will definitely use again! Thanks Chrissie!”

“I cannot begin to explain just how happy and grateful I am to this beautiful and caring couple. Its the first time we have left our cat with anyone and was so nervous about doing so but from the very first time we took her to meet them it was clear how professional and caring they are. Also it was such a beautiful touch sending pictures and videos daily of them all playing and it allowed us to enjoy our trip much more knowing our baby is so happy back home. To say I would highly recommend them is such an under statement because booking trips away for us now can be done with no worries at all knowing miso will be happy too.”

“This was Penny's 4th stay with Claudia and already have her booked for a 5th. We wouldn't want anyone else to look after her when we are away. Penny loves her stays and always runs straight into the house when we drop her off. Great communication throughout our holiday. We thoroughly recommend Claudia.”

“Daisy loved being with Joyce and Lilly, she seemed a happy little doggy when I picked her up. We would definitely recommend Joyce and we will be booking Daisy in again ***** 🌟 Kathy.”

“Absolutely incredible, not only does she take incredible care of your dog and treats them as her own, she also offers pick ups and drop offs for an additional charge which is extremely handy. I got sent a tonne of pictures and videos throughout my dogs stay and he looked incredibly happy. Despite max never have been away from me before overnight he settled extremely well. Would highly recommend and thank you again, Max will definitely miss you and his new furry friend 🐾”

“I was terrified of sending my rescue cat for boarding as he had never been away from his home in the 7 years he has been with me. He is an indoors-outdoors cat who has access to his cat flap at any time. Very shy with humans and friendly to other cats. And not used to be kept indoors. Vivian’s cat room is perfect, with a large bay window, shelves for the cat to climb upon, corners to hide if nervous and plenty of space to roam around. Vivian did an amazing job with my cat, being very patient to give him confidence and feel comfortable in the new surroundings and with new people. She gave him plenty of cuddles and reassurance throughout the stay. And monitored his food and drink intake as well as his litter use. Vivian also introduced him to their really sweet and cute kitten to give him a playmate. Vivian kept me updated throughout with pictures, videos and reported on his progress. I could not have dreamt of a better place and better couple to keep my cat safe, happy and comfortable during my absence. I would not hesitate to recommend Vivian’s services for boarding and will happily use again when required in future.”

“Wonderful sitter. The whole family looked after our puppy so well and sent a daily update. Very caring and great with dogs. Would recommend and we will use Karolina again.”

“Emily was beyond amazing with looking after topaz. Topaz was able to settle almost immediately, and I know for a fact that she was well taken care of. I was updated regularly. Would highly recommend her for looking after your fur baby.”

“Hollie took excellent care of our border collie whilst we were on holiday. She was also kind enough to pick up and drop off, which helped us massively. Hollie sent us photos of Misty during her stay and it was obvious she was very comfortable in Hollie’s company. Hollie has a lovely, spacious home and an enclosed garden that Misty enjoyed exploring. Hollie’s communication was excellent throughout. I would definitely recommend Hollie for your dog-minding or walking needs.”

“I regularly book with Wesley, he is a great with my puppy and she loves going. sends regular updates, she gets to go for lovely walks and she always runs in excited to be there!”

Claire is delightful and clearly a dog lover. Pip was immediately happy when she arrived and played with Claire's friendly little cockerpoo. She sent me photographs of pip, and when I collected her she was lively and beautifully bathed and groomed. I cannot fault Claire

Nicole looked after my dog buddy for 2 nights and this was the first time anyone had looked after him. From the get go Nicole made me feel so at ease and filled me with reassurance and confidence with everything she said. While we was away, Nicole would send updates, photos and videos of how he was getting on and what he was Upto. The reassurance and confidence was also shown in all her actions while we was away. I knew he was in very loving hands and I could see he was happy and settled to be there. I would 110% recommend and will definitely be booking with her again. Thankyou so much again Nicole✨🫶🏻

Melissa and her family did an amazing job of looking after Molly while we were away. From our first visit we knew it would be a perfect place for her to stay,be safe, well looked after and loved and we certainly wasn't disappointed. We were sent photos of Molly at least every other day while on holiday and would reply back immediately if we we had any questions. Molly came back to us a very happy and fit dog after plenty of walks too. We will definitely use Melissa's service again. Thank you 😁

Marie was absolutely amazing from start to finish. We had a meet and greet beforehand, which immediately reassured me and made me feel completely comfortable leaving my dogs in her care. Throughout their stay, Marie sent plenty of photo updates, which I really appreciated - it was so lovely to see how happy and relaxed my boys were. It looked like they had such an amazing time with her! Thank you so much, Marie, for taking such wonderful care of my boys. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you.

We’re so grateful for the way you cared for Teddy during the week he spent with you. It was clear he felt safe, happy, and well-loved in your care. You kept us updated regularly, which gave us peace of mind while we were away, and it was lovely to see how relaxed and playful he was. Thank you again for treating Teddy like one of your own. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to others and would happily book with you again in the future!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
