“Abby looked after our dog so well. It was a last minute booking and she stepped up just in time for our trip. She made the effort to come out before the trip at short notice to meet our dog. Lady is energetic and needs lots of walks to tire her out and she came back really tired and content. Will use again”

About: Experienced dog owner and sitter with years of caring for many breeds and ages. Confident with puppies, training, and older dogs. Working from home means I can provide plenty of attention, company and round-the-clock care. I work 8am-4pm, but my partner Gemma works from home, so your dog will have company and care all day. We have plenty of time for walks, play and cuddles throughout the week, and are around all weekend. Boarding from 9am weekdays and weekends. We have a spacious, secure fenced garden with plenty of grass for play and relaxation, plus large playing fields right outside, perfect for dog walks. Our two dog-friendly cats are used to sharing their home with dogs, and there’s plenty of space for everyone. We can only board dogs that are used to cats and are not aggressive toward them.
“Rachel was fantastic with Stevie! Met us beforehand last minute to put us at ease about leaving her, sent regular updates and lots of great photos and we could tell she put time and effort into playing with Stevie and getting to know her and she definitely knows her stuff when it comes to dogs. Stevie also made a new friend in Bowie! We would 100% recommend and leave Stevie with Rachel again. 5 ⭐️”

“Elizabeth was fantastic with our dog Reggie. I can tell he had a great time from the daily updates and pictures. Super attentive, friendly and professional. I'm sure Reggie would love to stay again.”

“Olive loves staying with Nicola and her family and she’s very well looked after. When she went for the second time she was waiting on the doorstep with her tail wagging! Nicola always sends photos and updates and Olive is always happy 🩷”

“My Shih-Tzu Eric loves Alba and so do we! She’s looked after him a few times now and has always been so kind and attentive. We receive photo and video updates and he comes back happy every time. I would absolutely recommend Alba!”
“Jodie and her partner were both lovely. They looked after our greyhound Hugo for 1 night. She sent us updates of how Hugo was getting on, he seemed to have a lovely time with them! Thank you!!”

“Laura took amazing care of my young dog, Monte, for 11 days. Since he is still quite young, the first couple of days were a bit tough for him being away from me, but Laura took care of him just like her own dog. Monte had a blast playing with her dog, Arziel, and they became great friends. Laura took them out for walks twice a day and constantly sent me lovely photo updates from both their walks and around the house, which kept my mind completely at ease. Monte grew to love her so much that he was even cuddling up and sleeping on the couch! He returned home incredibly happy. Thank you so much, Laura, for your time and the wonderful care you gave Monte. I highly recommend Laura to anyone looking for a loving and trustworthy pet sitter!”

“James was fantastic with Dougie, so welcoming as soon we walked through the door. Made us both feel very reassured with updates and pictures. Would definitely recommend James and will be booking again. Thanks!!”

“We really have found our retreat for Bishop when we go away. I was so worried about leaving Bishop with any one, due to his reactivity with other dogs and the size and energy of him but Louie reassured me as he has many years experience with big breeds and reactive behaviours. I took Bishop for a meet and knew within a minute Louie and his family would manage Bishop and that his needs would be met. We got updates and pictures whilst we were away which reassured me even more. Picking up Bishop was actually quite emotional although I could see he had missed me, the connection and love he clearly had for Louie and his family was clear to see, he had been so well looked after and was part of the family. I really couldn’t ask for more, I would not want anyone else to look after Bishop in the future and look forward to booking again. Can’t thank Louie and his family enough”

“Susan and her husband looked after my pretty dog for a day and a half and it was very well. They sent me pictures about my doggy and got me informed about everything. They also helped me about some extra information that I needed for my trip. They are so kind!!! I would repeat with them if I needed this kind of service again. Thank you very much!!!!”

“Buckey had the best time and can’t wait to go back ! Highly recommend, Helen was great and kept us up to date with how Buckey was doing. We would definitely use again. Such a lovely couple 🥰”

About: I’ve had pets over the last 10 years unfortunately I recently lost both my bulldogs over the past year and it’s left a huge hole in my heart they was babies. I miss the company , cuddles & walks . I’d like to give back and help others owners know their pet is in safe & loving hands :) I work from home & have a flexible job so have plenty of time to look after your pet whether it be playing in the garden , snuggles on the couch or daily walks I have a fenced off garden, gated Front , built in big crate (if needed) Spacish downstairs for your pup to walk about , clean & dog friendly (allowed on the couch ofcourse!)
About: I have always loved dogs and understand just how much they mean to a family, because to me they are never “just pets” — they are part of the family. Sadly, my own beloved dog George passed away in February, and I miss him every single day. Looking after him gave me so much joy, love and companionship, and I would now love the opportunity to share that same care and affection with other people’s dogs. Becoming a dog sitter feels like a lovely way to do something meaningful, while also helping owners feel completely reassured that their dog is in safe, loving hands. I know how important it is to leave your dog with someone who will treat them with kindness, patience and genuine affection, and that is exactly the care I would provide. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the sofa or simply having company and a calm routine, I will make sure they feel happy, secure and well looked after while you are away. I can offer a loving, reliable and attentive environment, and I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs. I would always take the time to get to know your dog so I can care for them in the way that suits them best. Most importantly, I want owners to have complete peace of mind, knowing their dog is being cared for as if they were my own. Because I work from home, your dog would have plenty of company, care and attention throughout the day. I am around to provide reassurance, regular toilet breaks, playtime, walks and lots of affection, so they will never feel left alone for long periods. I understand how important it is for owners to know their dog is safe, happy and well looked after while they are away, and being at home means I can give them the time, care and companionship they deserve. I have a secure fenced garden and work from home, which means your dog would have constant care, company and attention throughout the day. They would never be left feeling lonely or unsettled, and I can provide a safe, loving environment where they can relax, play and feel completely at home. Whether they enjoy cuddles, garden time, walks or simply having someone nearby, I will make sure they feel happy, comfortable and well cared for at all times.

About: Love dogs so much I even did a dog grooming city and guild. Which also teaches you how wash &dry dogs properly, health care and awareness. Grew up with dogs and had my own working cocker up until couple of years ago when we sadly lost him . I’m retired so have plenty of time on my hands to give your dogs plenty of loving attention. Don’t have my own dog at the moment so no fear of mixing with other dogs. Would not have more than 1 dog at a time. We live in a small cottage in Woolton village with a fully fenced rear garden. Quite and peaceful environment and Perfectly placed by 4 parks within minutes away.
“Amy and Bea were great and we'd recommend them to anyone looking for a sitter that makes their dog feel at home. Their communication was great and we know our dog was really relaxed with them.”

Bandit only stayed with Natalie for one night, but he had a lovely time. He was happy and settled, and we felt completely comfortable leaving him in her care. We had a very positive experience and would happily recommend Natalie to others. Thank you for looking after Bandit so well! 🐾💕

I have a brilliant experience when I boarded my husky with Jasmin and her beautiful lab! Jasmin responded quickly to my questions and messages and gave me lots of photo updates! She has an excellent home for dog boarding and I could tell my dog was being looked after brilliantly. I would definitely have her look after my dog again!

Milo absolutely loved his week with James and his wife, they looked after him like he was their own. He had an upset stomach for a couple of days while we were away so they swapped his food out for chicken and rice for us and kept us updated. We’ll definitely be booking Milo back in to stay again, he loved them and vice versa.

This was the first time we had used the app, and we really did hit the jackpot. Jackie made us feel so welcome from our first meeting, and when we were away, the daily updates we received showing olive so happy and well looked after meant we were fully able to relax and enjoy our break. Jackie’s garden was fully secure and dog friendly, and it was clear all of her family were true dog lovers. We would have no hesitation in recommending her and will definitely be using her again. Thank you Jackie!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
