“Evgeniy took excellent care of my brother's dog over the Christmas holidays. He sent daily pics and offered a pick up and drop off service which was essential. Highly recommended!”

“Dash and Marby enjoyed their stay with Joanne she really put us at ease leaving them. Joanne was patient with Dash who is very weary of people and he looked at home and comfortable when we picked him up. Thanks Joanne we will defo book again.”

“Karen has been a wonderful minder for our Bert the French bulldog on 2 occasions now. On the most recent Boarding he actually pulled on the lead to go back which is very surprising as not the greatest social Frenchie , absolutely no fuss also with Karen she so so relaxed and dogs are made so welcome in her lovely home. I couldn’t have asked me more. Thank you so much.”

“Saoirse was fantastic at looking after Milo for us. We received regular updates and photos, and he seemed like he had the best time staying with her. She took such good care of him and we can tell he was shown so much love and attention. I think he was a little sad his own holiday was over when we picked him up 🥲 Milo became very fond of Saoirse and we will be booking again for our next trip very soon and all future trips. 100% recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Lauren was great at looking after our dog Pippa, she settled in straight away and loved her stay! We received updates everyday and couldn’t have asked for more, thank you Lauren and Matthew!”

“Violeta was amazing with Sasha and she sent us regular updates. Violeta is a friendly and very accommodating person. I highly recommend her to take care of your dogs.”

About: I’ve taken care of different breads of dogs from a young age, growing up with both a high energy Labrador retriever and calmer Cookerpoo. Currently living with my partner and our energetic sprocker spaniel, Pepper. We walk pepper atleast twice a day, often in local woodlands and parks as well as playing fetch in our fenced garden. Available for dog walks, drop ins and overnight stays. I currently work flexibly from home 3 days per week and often finish before 4pm. On weekdays I can offer walks or drop ins to suit you and your dogs needs. I do not work weekends so can offer overnight stays Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights as well as walks and drop ins on these days. I will be available to feed, walk and play with your dog anytime during their stay. Any days when I am not at home I will not include in my schedule. I have a securely fenced garden for your dogs to play in and a dog of my own for yours to play with. Our dog is also crate trained so if your dog needs some time to themselves this can be accommodated for.

About: Had my own dog for over 25 years. Cared for and looked after friends dogs and now want to help families who need their dog looked after to carry out their lives. I currently am a home stay mother so being present with your dog is easy. Love spending time with dogs playing and having fun. Taking time to understand the dogs needs and give lots of attention. I have a fully enclosed fenced garden. I have my existing dog that loves spending time running around the garden with direct access back into the house when they have had enough playing.

“Trisha, Shane & Juliet - thank you so much for looking after Socks this week after i needed to travel away for work. Socks had a fantastic time staying with you & had lots of play with Juliet, snuggles and walks with you both. You did a fantastic job of keeping me up to date on how Socks was & what she had been up doing. Have no hesitation in recommending you to others to look after their furry friends. Socks is already looking forward to visiting you all again in August. Thank you again.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter than Christina. She looked after Peppa for three nights and kept us completely at ease the whole time with regular updates, including plenty of photos and videos. It was so reassuring to see how happy and well cared for Peppa was. Christina was also incredibly thoughtful and responsible—she always checked with us first before giving Peppa anything, which we really appreciated. It showed how much she genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after. Peppa came home happy, relaxed, and completely worn out from all the adventures they had together—which says it all! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Christina to anyone and will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Alba looked after and loved Coco like she was her own baby. We 100% recommend Alba and can’t thank her enough for looking after our puppy for 3 nights, we trust Alba and she will be our first choice in the future”

“Opie had a great stay! From the start, everything felt really professional—they provided a form to fill out and arranged a meet and greet beforehand, which gave me a lot of confidence. During his day and overnight stay, I was kept regularly updated on how Opie was doing and what he was getting up to, which I really appreciated. It made me feel relaxed knowing he was in good hands. Overall, a very positive experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Highly recommend!”

“I don’t often give 5 star reviews but Kelly-Marie was amazing. All the arrangements beforehand were simple and straight forward, the updates and photos while we were away were great - at one stage I thought our dog was having a better holiday than we were! We’ll definitely be back!”

“Amelie was a dream come true! It was the first time leaving our two babies with anybody like this but a change of circumstances left us in a pickle. Amelie was so supportive throughout the process and made us feel immediately at ease. It was lovely to receive daily updates on our trip and it was obvious she had already made a loving connection with Teddy & Sonny from the first day. The real review is from the pups though, they were so happy there, we could see that from the pictures but also from the way they acted at her home. If they could talk I'm sure they would say "we had a lovely holiday, we were well looked after and well cared for". Amelie will be our first choice in future. Thank you Amelie, you made what was a worrying time into something wonderful and Ted & Sonny look forward to staying with you again in the future (they told me 😊).”

“Juisana recently looked after my Frenchy, Ziggy, for a week and she was brilliant. Ziggy was welcomed with open arms are looked after superbly. Juisana sent updates each day and it was obvious that Ziggy loved his stay. I thoroughly recommend Juisana and won’t hesitate to use her services again in the future”

“We will defo be using Tiffany again! It was our first time using Rover and we were super impressed. Tiffany put us at ease and sent us regular updates and photos! She even took photos of Ralph on walks! Thank you!”

Daniela was amazing and helped us out last minute with our two dogs - Buddy and Mila. Daniela collected and dropped them off. Whilst under Daniela’s care they had such fun evidenced by the videos Daniela shared. Lots of walks and fun on the beach. Absolutely recommend Daniela and I will use her services again.

Perfect, cannot fault Kayleigh or her partner Raj. They looked after Lulu like she was their own. Sent regular updates and photos throughout the booking. Lulu looked so happy, relaxed and at home with them. Honestly they made the whole experience so easy and stress free. Was instantly put at ease from the first meeting, the piece of mind knowing she was being looked after so well while we were away. Would 100% recommend and use again,

Simon boarded and took care of our German Shepherd for a week in May. He took him for regular walks and took into account the hot weather, so in the evening on the local park and beach when it was cooler. We could tell as soon as we met Simon, he was a dog lover and our Max took to him straight away. When we picked Max up, he looked comfortable at Simon's place and we'll looked after. Would happily ask Simon to look after him in the future.

Hannah looked after our Labrador Retriever Eddie on fairly short notice, for 2 nights. She was brilliant, keeping in touch with us and sending photographs. Eddie seemed really settled and at home with her and we really had peace of mind. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hannah and would certainly have Eddie spend time with her again

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
