“Ralph had an amazing time with Sonia. It’s clear how much she adores dogs and kept in touch regularly with pictures and videos. Felt so at ease knowing he was in very good hands and will not hesitate to book Sonia again in the future.”

About: Hi, my name is Corrina and I've been surrounded by and taking care of dogs and cats since I was a child. I have extensive experience with dog breeds all the way from collies to chihuahuas, though it's the latter breed that I have found myself falling head over heels for. I also foster for rescues, which sees me taking care of all shapes, ages, and sizes, though I have a particular love for the oldies and special needs dogs and kitties. My practical experience is bolstered by my theoretical knowledge; I have a master's in Anthrozoology (the study of human-animal relationships) and my doctoral thesis that I am currently writing is on the potential for companion animal personhood. I am also currently studying to become a canine behaviourist at the veterinary level and I work remotely part-time for a dog walking company as an admin manager. To say that I love dogs and taking care of them is an understatement. The biggest assurance I can offer is that whilst I'm looking after your dog - whether for an hour or a week - I will treat them as I treat my own: with love and care and respect. And it's not just canines that I love, but felines too! So if you need a diligent house-sitter or someone to drop in on your kitties whilst you're away, then I would be honoured to spend time with your lovely cats. I have my own insurance and first aid certification. I work from home, which gives me flexibility to provide excellent care. I have regular availability for walks and drop-ins in the mornings and afternoons/evenings. At home, my day is structured around my own dogs' needs. We have a yard for toilet breaks, and several parks nearby for a good walk and sniff. I live with my partner of 11 years in a two-bedroom house, and we are both up early in the morning for a medication routine with my oldest dog. While he's off out at work, I get the enjoyable morning walks and afternoon treats! I have a fenced in, secure yard that hasn't seen a doggy break out in the ten years I've lived here. I have two rescue chihuahuas of my own (12 and 9 years old). They're pretty laid back with other dogs in the home, and are very good at making nervous dogs feel welcome. My dogs have two meals a day, and two small treat times per day as well (if I fall behind schedule, they are very good at reminding me)! In your home, I will respect your wishes and will follow your instructions on how to care for your beloved pet and home to the letter. I do not shy away from cleaning, so if you need drop-ins that include vaccuming up fur or picking up poop in the yard, then please don't hesitate to get in touch!
“Joanne came to my house to meet my dogs before we finalised our booking and we had a lovely chat. My bouncy pups settled quickly while she was here which was a good sign! Joanne was really accommodating when I requested a couple of changes to our booking. Although nervous leaving the dogs initially, I was updated daily on how they were doing. When we collected them it was heartwarming to see them run back to Joanne while excitedly greeting us. Thanks again”

About: I'm an avid outdoors person, who loves going for walks and hikes just as much as my dog 😂. I've always loved being around dogs and know how much they mean to their families. I have had various breeds myself from the age of 7. I currently have a friendly, well-socialised spaniel, so daily walks, playtime, enrichment, and making sure a dog's needs are met are already a big part of my life. I understand that every dog is different. Some want an energetic adventure, while others prefer a slower, more relaxed walk with plenty of time to sniff and explore. My priority is always making sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and happy. I'm reliable, patient, and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. I'll treat your dog with the same care, kindness, and attention that I give my own. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is safe & having a great time. I'm available for walks, drop-in visits and house sitting throughout the week, with flexibility to work around your dog's normal routine whenever possible. I know consistency is important, so I'll do my best to keep to your preferred walking times, feeding schedule and any other routines that help your dog feel comfortable and secure. Whether your dog enjoys a long adventure, a gentle stroll or simply some company while you're away, I'll make sure they receive the time, care and attention they deserve. Your dog's safety and wellbeing will always be my highest priority. Before our first booking, I'd love to arrange a phone call or a meet & greet so I can get to know you, your dog and their individual needs. I'll carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, medication, training, recall, walking preferences and any behavioural quirks. I'll always keep dogs secure on walks, avoid situations that may make them uncomfortable, and send regular photo updates so you can feel confident they're happy, safe and being cared for as if they were my own.
About: I grew up with lots of pets of all different kinds! I have had one dog and three cats, a bunny, a hamster and guinea pigs. And yes, simultaneously! All my family always had pets too, so I am used to taking care of them when the family went on holiday 😁 I have also looked after my friends’ pets often, from a husky to a bulldog, to the most divas of black cats! I love animals and I can assure you that your pets will be in very good hands and showered in love 🥰 I currently work from home on most days, going into the office only once a week, so I am available to flat-sit for long periods of time or to have a pet here all day! I love to go on walks with dogs and play around with cats, so me and your pet will have the best time! I live in a flat, close to the docks, which is perfect when taking a dog on a walk by the river. Either at yours or mine, I will strictly follow your instructions and update you regularly on how your baby is doing. I do my best to get the pet comfortable around me to make sure we have the best time!
About: I have always had my own dogs, I have 2 cocker spaniels and have raised a litter of 8 puppies previously so I’m good with dogs of all ages. Not only this, but I have experience looking after a range of dog breeds. I’ve had Shitzu’s, Chihuahuas, Boxers, and of course, cocker spaniels. The “scary dogs” don’t fool me either - they’re all just big babies. I have experience looking after special needs’ dogs, senior dogs and puppies, whilst providing training for each of their individual needs. I mostly work nights but my partner works days so there would be someone with the dog majority of the day. They would also have my dogs to keep them company I live in a house with a fenced front and back garden and have 2 cocker spaniels to keep your dog company. I also have dog crates should your dog need to be crated
About: I’ve always been surrounded by animals and have had a genuine love for them from an early age. Living alongside two dogs and two cats, caring for animals has naturally become a big part of my life, and something I truly enjoy. I also worked at a kennel and cattery for several summers, where I gained hands-on experience with walking, feeding, cleaning and caring for a range of different animals. For as long as I can remember, I’ve also regularly looked after friends’ and family members’ pets, so I’m confident, responsible and comfortable caring for animals with different personalities and needs. I have a flexible university schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time to pet sitting. I have online university days on Wednesdays and Fridays, giving me flexibility throughout the day, and I have weekends off. This means I can be flexible with walks, drop-ins and pet care, and can work around your pet’s individual routine and needs. I live in a quiet, friendly neighbourhood with lots of greenery and great areas for walks. My block of flats has a spacious, fully fenced garden at the back, providing a safe space for pets to relax and play. I live alone in a one-bedroom flat, so your pet will have plenty of attention and a calm environment. I’m also happy for owners to bring any of their pet’s familiar belongings from home, such as their crate, bowls, bed or favourite toys, to help them feel comfortable and settled in a new environment.
About: Me and my boyfriend Morgan would love to look after your animals and both have years of experience with dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs and fish. With there being two of us, your pet would never be left alone, always getting attention. *THERE ARE NO OTHER PETS IN THE HOUSE* I have grown up looking after my cat and am therefore confident in my cat care, i am also trusted by friends and family to look after their cats. I am confident with administering medication and removing tics or resolving any other issues (i also learnt how to give cat massages so you will return to a nicely relaxed cat) I own a 6 month old mutt that was rescued as a stray from Portugal called Fritz, he is unsure of other dogs so i am competent in dealing with that and am also comfortable with dogs who are still in the early stages of training. Many friends and family trust me to dog sit and i love doing anything with dogs; long walks, playing and even muddy baths. Morgan owned a one eyed beagle for around 15 years and also has a koi fish pond and a hamster named beef. He is very confident in training and walking dogs, particularly reactive dogs. We are free all day and will do one 30 min walk every morning and an hour walk in the afternoon. Lots of playtime too We love to play with all animals and our joy comes from their joy. Whatever toys, activities and walk routes make you comfortable we are happy to do with your pet(s) :)

Daniela couldn't do enough for Louis. He enjoyed walks and attention throughout time that Daniela had him in my home with lots of pictures being send of him 😍. Daniela looked after my home and kept it clean and tidy and took the time to check all Louis information and route. Thank you so much for looking after him. X

Hannah was brilliant with our girls, I was a bit worried because they are nervous rescue girls. Hannah sent pictures and a video over the weekend and put my mind at rest. I could tell by how they reacted when we came home they were absolutely fine and relaxed with Hannah. She had also left everywhere tidy and stripped her bed which was lovely of her. Thank you so much Hannah x

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sefton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
