Alex was absolutely fantastic in caring for (and training) our 5 month old pup whilst we were away on holiday. Alex sent us regular updates which were detailed along with pictures which gave us the piece of mind we needed to be able to enjoy our time away. With Alex we never worried about our pup receiving all the love and care he needed as he develops his understanding of the world and interacting with others (dogs and humans). Alex is thoughtful and calm in his approach with our energetic and adventurous pup which has clearly had a huge impact on him growing into a independent and loving dog. We can't recommend Alex enough and we are so grateful to have his support.

About: I am a caring person that loves to give as much as attention to a dog as possible. I have been around so many in life and therefore have the confidence to approach any on the street for a stroke or cuddle. I am organised and like to stick to routines for myself or pets I look after. I am definitely an outdoors person but also can relax inside with a lovely cat when I am feeling in the mood for that on a rainy day or for an indoor cat to be loved. I have worked in a lot of customer service roles and therefore have the ability to deliver great experiences for any owner I connect with I have recently completed an Animal and Behaviour psychology course via Alison courses and learn't about various topics - communication, social structure within the animal kingdom, cognitive processes including memory, learning and problem solving for domesticated animals too. I am happy to evidence my certificate and course transcript for any owner and I am keen to do anything else which improves my skills and knowledge about animals in the future too. Any questions, just drop me a message Mike 😊 I am a general volunteer for a community theatre group (In another place) and a self-advocate for People first Merseyside so a lot of my voluntary work is split between those organisations that are very important to me in the week. I generally help In another place on Saturdays in the castle where games and shows happen until 3pm so my day is busy from 10am-3pm on most Saturdays. I can work my hours around my voluntary work or hikes during each day of the week unless there is something that is extremely important not to miss out during my advocacy work at People first. Church for me is attended on 1st or 3rd Sunday of the month as it's part of the open table network and therefore allows for Sunday pet sitting opportunities too I have a secure locking system on my door and a indoor camera which is good for looking at what's going on indoors as well as outdoors in the estate I live in. There is a beautiful canal nearby me and rimrose valley which has plenty of space for dogs to run about in. I like to keep my home as quiet as possible and don't like disturbances much from neighbours either so dogs or cats can relax easily when I am watching TV a low volume or reading a book in the evening in bed. I have very high standards and like to keep my flat as clean as possible through an organised system of tasks to complete each week. I don't have a lot of clutter around me and tend to keep floors as spacious as possible for me or animals too.

Willow and Woody absolutely loved their time with Ylenia. We received updates in the morning and at night about them both alongside photos🥹 Even when it came to bite cleaning and medication for Woody, Ylenia was great. We will definitely be booking Ylenia again and recommend anyone else to do so too!!!!

About: Hi, I’m Jasmin! I’m a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats. From the age of 12 until I left for university at 18, I ran a dog walking and pet sitting service in my village, caring for pets for local families. Since moving to Liverpool after graduating, I’ve continued looking after dogs and cats for friends and family, both in my own home and theirs, for anything from daily visits to longer stays. Caring for animals has always been something I genuinely love, and it’s remained a big part of my life over the years. I recently bought my first home in Liverpool, where I can offer a calm, safe, and loving environment for your pet. As I work from home, your pet will have plenty of company, attention, and care throughout the day, and I’m able to stick closely to their usual routine. I provide boarding, doggy day care, dog walking, house sitting, and drop-in visits, always tailoring my care to your pet’s individual personality and needs. I also have a large, secure outdoor area; pets will never be left outside unattended. I had my own beloved Pomapoo, Crunchie, for 16 wonderful years, who sadly passed away in November 2025. Towards the end of her life, she required ongoing medication and extra care due to multiple health conditions, so I’m confident administering medication and caring for senior dogs or pets with additional needs. Losing her reminded me just how much our pets mean to us, and I understand how important it is to find someone you can completely trust with them. For the last 4 years I have also shared my home with an Exotic Shorthair cat called Cloud, giving me plenty of experience caring for cats as well as dogs.( PLEASE NOTE: I no longer live with a cat I am a pet free home.) I know that every animal has their own unique personality, preferences, and routine, and I always take the time to get to know them so they feel comfortable, secure, and happy in my care. When your pet is with me, they’ll be treated like one of the family. Whether they enjoy long walks, playing games, curling up on the sofa for cuddles, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they receive the love, attention, and care they deserve. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is safe and in loving hands. I know how difficult it can be to leave a beloved pet with someone else, so my goal is to make the experience as stress-free as possible for both you and your furry family member or members! I work from home, so I’m able to provide your pet with plenty of attention, companionship, and care throughout the day. This also allows me to stick closely to their usual routine, whether that’s regular walks, feeding times, play sessions, or medication. I’m flexible and available for boarding, doggy/ cat day care, walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting throughout the week and at weekends. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. My home is calm, clean, and pet-friendly, with a large outdoor area. I’ll always follow your pet’s usual routine, including feeding schedules, exercise, medication, and any special requirements, to help them feel settled and at ease. As I work from home, your pet will rarely be left alone and will receive lots of love, attention, and companionship.

Joanne came to my house to meet my dogs before we finalised our booking and we had a lovely chat. My bouncy pups settled quickly while she was here which was a good sign! Joanne was really accommodating when I requested a couple of changes to our booking. Although nervous leaving the dogs initially, I was updated daily on how they were doing. When we collected them it was heartwarming to see them run back to Joanne while excitedly greeting us. Thanks again

About: Hi, I’m Christina, I’m a fun, energetic dog lover who puts my whole heart into every walk, whether that’s an exciting explore around the neighbourhood or a relaxed stroll at your pup’s own pace. With two years of experience dog walking back in Cyprus for family friends and neighbours, I know how much trust goes into handing over your dog to someone new. Every dog is different, and I love getting to know each one’s unique personality and needs. About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats my entire life, and caring for animals has always come naturally to me. Alongside this, I’ve had experience with a variety of other pets including guinea pigs, lizards, hamsters, and rabbits. I’ve also completed voluntary veterinary work experience across two clinics, where I observed consultations, treatments, and even caesarean care and surgeries. In addition, I volunteered at an RDA horse riding school, which gave me hands-on experience with horses and further developed my understanding of different animal needs. Over the years, I’ve looked after many family pets and always treat every animal as if they were my own—with patience, gentleness, and genuine care. For house sitting, my boyfriend will also be present with me. As a young woman, it’s important to me that there is always someone at home, so between us there will always be at least one person with your pet. We both have extensive experience with animals— I currently have a dog and a cat, and he has a large dog—so we are confident, responsible, and very attentive to their needs. Together, we provide a calm, safe, and caring environment for any pet in our care. I am currently working on my own business which means I am very flexible with time, working from home. I would love to incorporate pet care into my daily routine. You can trust me in your home. I have backpacked various locations, and when I wanted a change from hostels I would often stay in air b and b's. This means I value people's homes and I am grateful for their trust. I am an organised and cleanly person, keeping your house clean.

FAQs for House Sitting - Sefton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Sefton on Rover is £37.38 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 2,322 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sefton. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Sefton walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sefton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
