“We have just got back from a week away where lindsay had our 2 french bulldog girls and she has been fantastic, this was the first time leaving them with someone we dont know but she was great, from the initial meet and greet she bonded with our girls and we knew it was the right fit, lindsay followed thier schedule to keep them in thier routine and all went smoothly with regular updates and pictures our minds where put at ease, the house was also well looked after, i would highly recommend lindsay if your looking for a pet sitter and will definately book again. Thanks again lindsay x”

“Lola had a lovely time with Frances, she was very content when I came home and as she is an extremely sensitive dog this speaks volumes. I had regular contact which gave me peace of mind. I can't thank her enough and will definitely use again in the future. My home was well taken care of, very neat and tidy. Thanks Frances!”

About: I’ve lived with a dog or a cat for the last 30 years of my life. Always adopting from a rescue😊 first to answer when a friend or family member need a sitter I work part time 2 days a week and finish no later than 6PM. So free to help out during days off and evenings after work I live in a two bedroom apartment with a spare room too keep your pet happy and secure during the stay. With a balcony for fresh air
About: Hi, I’m Xiaomian! I’m a dedicated pet sitter and lifelong animal lover, offering calm, attentive care in your cat’s and/or dog's own home — with extra patience for senior cats and dogs who need a little more monitoring. I know every fur baby has their own personality and routine, so I take time to build trust at their pace. My care can include feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, oral medication, appetite and behaviour checks, playtime, grooming help, and companionship. My experience with senior cats has taught me how important it is to spot small changes in mobility, comfort, appetite, and behaviour. I know how hard it can be to leave an older pet, so I send regular updates, photos, and clear communication to help you feel reassured while you’re away. With flexible university hours and hybrid working pattern, I can offer daytime visits, evening visits, and extended stays depending on your needs. My goal is to keep your fur baby's routine consistent, comfortable, and as stress-free as possible. Im currenly working full time but flexibly, some times weekends, however, this allows me to have this part time job to see lovely fur babies! When caring for cats in their own home, I focus on maintaining the routine they already know and trust. This is especially important for senior cats, who often cope best when their environment, feeding schedule, and daily habits remain consistent. I follow all owner instructions carefully, including feeding, fresh water, litter box maintenance, medication administration, and any mobility or health-related needs. I also spend quality time with each cat according to their personality—whether that means interactive play, gentle grooming, lap time, or simply quiet companionship nearby. For senior cats, I pay particular attention to appetite, water intake, litter box habits, activity levels, and overall comfort, and I will promptly communicate any concerns to the owner. During each visit, I provide updates and photos so owners can feel confident that their cat is safe, comfortable, and receiving attentive care while they are away. My goal is for your cat to experience as little disruption as possible and for you to return home to a happy, well-cared-for companion.

About: I have always looked after dogs and cats of my neighbours and friends who repeatedly come back to ask me to walk and dog sit! I love caring for animals and make sure they are always happy and comforted. I am a student studying music at LIPA so I have plenty of time especially at weekends to look after your animals! Available weekends and in the week afternoons. I will make sure to follow any safety instructions you may specifically have such as a crate etc. I always keep a close eye on the cats I sit so they will be watched carefully!
“Lilly was brilliant. She visited before the sit to meet the dogs and to have a chat. She arrived on time. Left the house immaculate and followed the dogs routine. Definitely recommend”

About: I grew up with lots of pets of all different kinds! I have had one dog and three cats, a bunny, a hamster and guinea pigs. And yes, simultaneously! All my family always had pets too, so I am used to taking care of them when the family went on holiday 😁 I have also looked after my friends’ pets often, from a husky to a bulldog, to the most divas of black cats! I love animals and I can assure you that your pets will be in very good hands and showered in love 🥰 I currently work from home on most days, going into the office only once a week, so I am available to flat-sit for long periods of time or to have a pet here all day! I love to go on walks with dogs and play around with cats, so me and your pet will have the best time! I live in a flat, close to the docks, which is perfect when taking a dog on a walk by the river. Either at yours or mine, I will strictly follow your instructions and update you regularly on how your baby is doing. I do my best to get the pet comfortable around me to make sure we have the best time!

“Matthew was great to communicate with and happy for a meet and greet. He was lovely to chat with and nice and relaxed meeting Dexter. The sit went smoothly and Matthew followed all instructions. Dexter seemed more than happy with Matthew's company and has made a new friend.”

About: I’m a dedicated animal lover with a passion for caring for cats and dogs! By day, I work from home! so it’s easy to pet sit🐕 🐱, but in my free time, I’m always seeking ways to be around animals! I even plan vacations to places known for their cat populations! I have a grey tabby named Potato, who I moved all the way from Canada, and she’s been a big part of my love for animals. Their unique personalities, independence, and the comfort they bring really resonate with me. Whether it’s playtime, quiet companionship, or just keeping them company, I love making fuzzy friends feel happy and at home!
“Oliver was the prefect house sitter for our old dog Baxter. Oliver was able to help with all Baxter’s medical needs and we felt completely at ease leaving Baxter in his care. We would highly recommend Oliver to anyone.”

About: I'm an avid outdoors person, who loves going for walks and hikes just as much as my dog 😂. I've always loved being around dogs and know how much they mean to their families. I have had various breeds myself from the age of 7. I currently have a friendly, well-socialised spaniel, so daily walks, playtime, enrichment, and making sure a dog's needs are met are already a big part of my life. I understand that every dog is different. Some want an energetic adventure, while others prefer a slower, more relaxed walk with plenty of time to sniff and explore. My priority is always making sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and happy. I'm reliable, patient, and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. I'll treat your dog with the same care, kindness, and attention that I give my own. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is safe & having a great time. I'm available for walks, drop-in visits and house sitting throughout the week, with flexibility to work around your dog's normal routine whenever possible. I know consistency is important, so I'll do my best to keep to your preferred walking times, feeding schedule and any other routines that help your dog feel comfortable and secure. Whether your dog enjoys a long adventure, a gentle stroll or simply some company while you're away, I'll make sure they receive the time, care and attention they deserve. Your dog's safety and wellbeing will always be my highest priority. Before our first booking, I'd love to arrange a phone call or a meet & greet so I can get to know you, your dog and their individual needs. I'll carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, medication, training, recall, walking preferences and any behavioural quirks. I'll always keep dogs secure on walks, avoid situations that may make them uncomfortable, and send regular photo updates so you can feel confident they're happy, safe and being cared for as if they were my own.
“Misha was lovely with our two greyhounds, they can both be a little on the aloof side and they were made to feel comfortable straight away. The stay was also during a heatwave and the upmost care was carried out to make sure they were comfortable.”
About: I have 7 years of experience caring for cats and 4 years of experience caring for dogs. I work remotely in Liverpool city center, which gives me plenty of flexibility and time to keep your pets company, take them for walks, play with them, and give them lots of attention throughout the day. I’m patient, caring and attentive, and always try to make pets feel comfortable and relaxed around me. I’m happy to follow their usual feeding, walking and care routines, as I know how important consistency can be when their owners are away. I work remotely👩💻 and have a flexible schedule🗓️, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets and give them the attention and companionship they need. I’m available on both weekdays and weekends, and I’m happy to adapt my routine to your pet’s usual schedule🩷 I’m happy to follow owner’s instructions and try to keep each pet’s usual routine as consistent as possible, make sure they always have fresh water, regular meals, exercise🥏 and plenty of attention🥰. I live in a flat, but there is a lovely park ⛲️right downstairs that is perfect for dog walks. I enjoy outdoors walking, and would be happy to take them have a big walk 🦮 or play frisbee 🥏 if your dog also enjoys.
About: My family has had both dogs and cats for all of my life so I am well versed in how to take care of them. I have taken care of older dogs and cats so I am comfortable adapting to what they may need as senior animals. As well as and very comfortable working with both at the same time. I have also done some house and pet sitting in the past for neighbors. I am currently a university student. I will have lots of time to look after, play with, and ensure the care of your lovely animal friends as my schedule changes have lots of available days and times. I'm very good at following routines that have been set out. As well as adapting to any situations. I will also communicate effectively with you as much as you wish, whether this be daily photos and updates or the occasional update on how everything is.
“Emily looked after Rumi extremely well and he had a great time playing with her dog Pickle. She regularly updated me and communicated clearly throughout. I would let Emily look after Rumi again.”

“Met Ruby and arranged the booking as short notice as I’d been let down. While she had my dogs I was kept informed with pictures and updates - the dog clearly loved the trip to the pub! Came back to find three happy dogs who had clearly been well looked after. Ruby stayed jn my house and returning to that it was clean and tidy. Would highly recommend and take full use of booking Ruby again. Thanks so much 😊”

About: Hi, I’m Lauren and I’m 27. I have years of experience caring for both cats and small dogs through family pets, as well as owning a lovely, playful Siberian cat myself. I understand that pets need plenty of love, attention, and play, especially when their owners are away and their routine has changed. Alongside my love for animals, I have recently worked in front-facing customer service roles in both a hospital and an international school. These roles have taught me the importance of responsibility, reliability, and providing a caring, reassuring experience, which are qualities I believe are just as important when looking after someone’s beloved pet. As a pet owner myself, I know how worrying it can be to leave your pet in someone else’s care. That’s why I understand how important it is to find a sitter who will take the time to understand your pet’s individual needs, helping them feel happy, calm, and comfortable. My aim is to be someone you can trust and rely on, knowing your pet is in safe and caring hands. I decided to start pet sitting because I really miss my own cat, who is currently living with my boyfriend while I’m studying at university and staying in student accommodation. I’d be delighted to spend time caring for other people’s pets, giving them the same love, attention, and affection that I’d want for my own. I will be at uni typically 4 days a week 9am-5.30pm with a 1 hour break at lunchtime, so during weekdays (depending on distance) I can stop by in the morning, at lunchtime and again in the evening for feedings, toilet breaks and attention 🐾 On my 1 weekday off and weekends I am fully available to visit or stay overnight. As I currently live in student accommodation, I’m unable to offer pet boarding in my own home. However, when caring for pets in their own home, I will always make their safety, comfort, and wellbeing my top priority. I will ensure that anything potentially harmful is kept safely out of your pet’s reach and that your home is left exactly as you expect. I’ll make sure your pet receives plenty of attention, play, exercise (where appropriate), and affection while maintaining their usual routine as closely as possible. Before our booking starts, I’ll take the time to learn about your pet’s individual needs, including their feeding schedule, any allergies or medical conditions, medications, exercise requirements, and any likes, dislikes, or behaviours I should be aware of. I’ll also monitor their eating, drinking, and toilet habits to make sure everything is normal, and I’ll let you know straight away if I notice anything that concerns me. I would like to provide a safe, calm, and caring environment where your pet feels happy and secure while you’re away, giving you complete peace of mind.

Matthew was great to communicate with and happy for a meet and greet. He was lovely to chat with and nice and relaxed meeting Dexter. The sit went smoothly and Matthew followed all instructions. Dexter seemed more than happy with Matthew's company and has made a new friend.

Havanna was brilliant today. First time we’ve trusted anyone to care for our dogs while we go out for a rare day out! She kept them well entertained and exercised while we were out. Very professional and great with the pups. Thanks Havanna - will be calling on you again soon.

Lindsay was just absolutely amazing! She looked after our 3 year old golden and puppy golden for a whole day and evening. She did a meet and greet first and took so many notes and was brilliant with them. All day when she looked after them, we were kept updated about everything and had some gorgeous photos and videos sent to us. She even brought dog friendly bubbles and played with them and cared for them like they were her own ❤️ the house was left perfectly too! When we got home the pups were gutted to see her go and clearly had the best day. We will be using Lindsay again without doubt, she's amazing!

Dilki and Chamy were absolutely amazing dog sitters for our two boys Dexter and Herman. We were nervous as we’d never left them with sitters before but Dilki and Chamy went above and beyond to make sure that Dexter and Herman were settled and happy with them - they met them beforehand and it was clear that they have a genuine love and care of animals. Dilki and Chamy were actually looking after our boys on our wedding day and were so accommodating, even bringing them to the church so they could walk down the aisle as ring bearers! It truly made our day. We received lots of video and photo updates and it was clear that Dexter and Herman were in the safest and best hands. I would absolutely recommend Dilki and Chamy and I’m sure Dexter and Herman would love to be looked after by them in the future!
Carys was the perfect cat sitter. She took amazing care of both my cat and my home and gave me regular updates which was great to receive. Coming back she left my home clean (if not cleaner) and tidy and my cat seemed happier than ever. I would recommend Carys to anyone looking for a cat sitter. Have absolutely zero complaints!! 5+ stars!

Claire was fantastic and took such great care of our cat, Frank, as well as our home. She kept us updated regularly with lots of messages and photos, which made me feel really reassured that he was getting plenty of company and affection while we were away. It was the first time we'd left Frank for more than a couple of days, so this really helped me feel at ease as it was clear our cat was relaxed, happy and in capable hands. She left the house just as we found it and we would definitely book Claire again next time we need a cat sitter.

Ruby was great, our four animals loved her, particularly our ginger cat, Buddy, who was Ruby's shadow from the moment she arrived! We got plenty of update pics, the dogs were taken on some good long walks and the house was left lovely and tidy. Would definitely recommend Ruby 😊

Chloe recently looked after our dog Winston at short notice for a wedding. She was very professional accommodated things at the last minute . Winston is quite clearly settled and was well looked after . She provided timely updates and we enjoyed our trip thoroughly because we knew he was in such safe hands. I would thoroughly recommend.

Amy was amazing! She was great with the cats, they warmed to her immediately and seemed to have the best time while we were away. She sent lots of updates and we felt comfortable knowing they were in safe hands. Would book her again in a heartbeat :) Thank you! xx

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Liverpool walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Liverpool choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
