“Kylie was amazing with our cats, she looked after both of them really well, tending to their different personalities. very friendly, positive and easy to communicate with, with consistent updates on our cats. Would highly recommend!”

“Excellent communication, super friendly and willing to meet and go through things in advance. Karen was so lovely with our pets, one of them can be a bit nervous and timid, but he clearly loved Karen to bits and we don't hesitate to book her again. She took such great care of our home and all our furry, feathered and fluffy family members!”

About: I'm Nathan, 37 and from Lowton. I really do love all animals, but specialise in cats. I had dogs growing up but since being an adult have always had cats in my home. My day job in finance allows me to work from home and gives flexibility to spend time with my own cats, and look after other peoples furbabies too. I own two beautiful indoor Ragdolls - brother and sister - Toby and Luna who are 7. Toby has a sensitive stomach and requires weekly medication, and Luna has a beautiful (but long) coat which requires daily grooming to keep her looking stunning. I currently work from home, so can house sit and work from your house of needed. My partner can look after our 2 cats if I am pet-sitting. I have lots of experience in building rapport with dogs and cats. I tailor my approach to their personality and am adaptable to whatever environment I am in.
“Robb accepted to take of our animals at short notice and did a great job. We received loads of updates and photos while away and returned to a clean tidy house. Will definitely use again!”

About: Hi I love animals and for the last twenty years I have had the pleasure of sharing my life with cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, and fish. I have two rescue Greyhounds and have been volunteering for the Greyhound Trust and Home Run Hounds for 6 years. Prior to that I have volunteered for the RSPCA. I am currently completing an online course in dog behaviour and welfare. I have been a nurse for 30 years now working 9-5 Monday to Friday but with flexibility and my dream is to eventually work full time with animals. I'm currently working full time Monday - Friday (9-5) but there is plenty of time to help with animal care early morning, after 5pm and weekends. I volunteer at dog kennels 8-10.30am on Saturdays. I would not see fitting in animal care as a chore but instead a priveladge. Who doesn't love animal cuddles, obviously on their terms 🙂 My hope is to reduce my 9-5 nursing role and build up my animal care role. I have two rescue Greyhounds, one who is anxious and we are working on her reactivity which is through fear so at this time I am not offering home boarding however I am happy to come to you. Just let me know your routine and requirements and I will respect and work with you.
“Natalie was amazing she house sit my two dogs for 10 nights. She update me daily with photos of them both, which puts your mind at ease when your away. When I got back both of them really happy. Even Chase was happy and normal he is sad when we go away and come back. I would recommend Natalie to everyone. Will be definitely booking her again”

“Laura did a fantastic job of looking after our dog. She cared about getting the details right and making sure that our pet was happy and well taken care of. She gave us the utmost confidence that we had nothing to worry about, sent photos and updates while we were away, and we found the house just as we had left it. You'd be hard pushed to find a more trustworthy sitter. Thank you Laura!”

About: I grew up in a rural environment surrounded by animals, so caring for them has been part of my life from an early age. Our family had dogs and cats, as well as poultry and other farm animals including pigs and sheep. This gave me a natural confidence around animals and an understanding that every animal has its own personality, routine and needs. Over the past few years, I have gained hands-on house and pet sitting experience through TrustedHousesitters. I have completed 9 house and pet sits and received 9 five-star reviews. I have also been invited back for 3 repeat sits, which I particularly value as a sign of the trust I have built with both owners and their pets. I am mature, responsible and respectful of other people's homes. I understand how important it is for pets to remain comfortable in their own environment and follow their usual routines while their owners are away. I work remotely, which means I can spend a significant amount of time at home during a house sit rather than being away at work all day. I am also happy to consider longer stays and can travel for the right booking. I am comfortable caring for cats and dogs, including feeding, fresh water, litter care, walks and companionship. Before accepting a booking, I like to understand each pet's personality, routine and individual needs to make sure we are a good match. I am also happy to send regular photos and updates while you are away, so you can relax knowing that your pets and home are being well cared for. I work part-time and remotely, usually between 8am and 2pm on weekdays. As I work from home, I can be around pets during these hours, while walks and more active care fit best into my afternoons and evenings. I am happy to discuss each pet's usual routine before accepting a booking to make sure it works well with my schedule. I provide care in the pet owner's home, where pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment and follow their normal routine. I carefully follow the owner's instructions regarding feeding, walks, medication if required, security and any house rules. I always make sure doors, gates and windows are secure and never allow pets off lead unless this has been specifically discussed and agreed with the owner. I treat every home with the same care and respect as I would my own and am happy to provide regular updates and photos while owners are away.

About: It all began with Milo, the very first cat I met—charming, gentle, and unforgettable. Soon, he met his perfect match, the graceful Mila. Two years later, we were blessed to witness the magic of their little ones arriving—Mori and Macy, our playful prince and princess. Watching them grow has been one of life’s greatest joys! Now, our home is ruled by this purring royal family, and we know just how to treat every cat like the king or queen they are. With love, play, cuddles, and care, we make sure your furry royalty feels right at home.
“Aww Amy was amazing all round - such a nice girl and my dogs absolutely loved her. Felt so at ease leaving them with her for the weekend - would love to have her mind them again soon 😍”

“Molly was so calm and relaxed throughout and kept us reassured that Ramsay was on his best behaviour. Clearly has experience with bigger dogs which was helpful with our big boisterous puppy. Definitely will book again!”

“Lydia was absolutely brilliant with Spud, we met her two days before our weekend trip and showed her round the house and Spud of course loved meeting her. She put me at ease while we were away sending updates and photos and leaving the camera on when she was out the house so I could check in on him. Really recommend Lydia as a pet sitter she is so lovely and attentive. Would definitely use her services again”

“We couldn't have asked for a better house-sitter than Jordan. When he came to meet us and our dog, he was so polite and friendly, and clearly wanted to know all about her needs and routines. He provided lots of photos and updates throughout the time we were away. We got home to a very happy dog and a very clean and tidy house. He was extremely respectful of our home and attentive to our pet. We'd definitely ask Jordan to come and stay again! Highly recommend.”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Saint Helens
We are very happy to have found Alex. She has looked after our 2 dogs wonderfully, especially as it has been during a heatwave. She has been getting up early to take them out and waited until late evening for their 2nd walk. She has even had the paddling pool out for them. She gets to know the dogs very well and keeps you well updated with how they are. The dogs love her. The house is left very clean and tidy. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will definitely use again. Thank you so much, Alex ☺️

Tara has been amazing with Rolo! As a large dog who needs a muzzle and can be a handful she has really been a blessing when looking after him when we were away! She has got to know him really well and I’m sure he misses her since we have been home! Can’t thank you enough!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saint Helens choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
