About: Hello! Unlike some other sitters on Rover, i have a year of dog sitting experience and work experience in a kennels, cattery, riding school and small animal vet clinic. I have been caring for dogs ever since 2012 when i was around seven years old and have also had some experience with rabbits and birds around the age of 4 years old. During my work experience, i have learnt how to analyse basic animal behaviour well and have learnt how to follow a schedule of feeding times, medicine that need to be administered and how to meet the needs of both dogs and cats. I’ve helped with grooming and bathing at the kennels and i am patient at all times, giving space to animals when they need it. I am the type of pet sitter to give some advice to owners if i feel it may benefit the owners and the pet. For example, if i see your dog eats too quickly, i might recommend a slow feeding bowl to reduce chances of things such as GDV happening to your dog. I have helped two owners during my time as a pet sitter as i have noticed medical issues in their dogs such as signs of a urinary infection or epulis. If you do not want advice, please let me know beforehand as i do not tolerate rude behaviour. Im currently available at all times so whatever type of schedule you would like for your pet, i can work around. When a dog is in my own home and is sleeping over, i sleep nearby to make sure that they are comfortable and safe as that is my first priority. I give every dog at least one walk a day (or more if you would like) In my own home, i have an attached house which is kept clean at all times and it has a back garden with tall fences and no grass. Its a relatively big garden with lots of plants and vegetables around. I do have a dog of my own in the house who’s an eight year old Sproodle who is playful but is no threat to other dogs as she loves to greet them no matter the age. She is gentle with puppies and sleeps in her own bed in the kitchen. In my house, i live with two sisters and my mother. No matter the house im caring for your pet in, i will stick to a schedule and your rules however you prefer. I will make sure your pet is entertained and cared for well and will return home happy!
About: I’ve always loved animals and grown up surrounded by them, so caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life. I’ve had my own Pomeranian since I was 10, and I regularly help look after my mum’s Rottweiler. I also have experience walking and caring for dogs of different sizes and temperaments, including terriers, miniature poodles, and German Shepherds, as well as looking after pets for other owners while they’ve been away. I’m confident with both small and large dogs, and I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs. I love spending time with dogs and making sure they have all the attention they need. I currently work part time, so I have plenty of flexibility and time to spend with your dogs. Most of the time I’m able to work around your schedule and offer reliable, consistent care, whether that’s walks, check-ins, or overnight stays in your home. I always look after dogs in their own home, so they can stay in a place they know and feel comfortable in. I’m calm and confident with all kinds of dogs, including those who are a bit nervous, excitable, or need a bit more patience and understanding. I’m also happy following any routines you already have in place, whether that’s feeding, walking, grooming, or just keeping things consistent for them. After visits or walks, I like to send a quick update with a photo so you can see how your dog is doing and what they’ve been up to. If something ever seems a bit off, I’ll always let you know. For overnight stays, I’m happy to adjust how often I update you - some people like lots of updates, others prefer to relax knowing everything is taken care of, and I’m happy either way.
About: Since moving from rural Scotland to Lancashire, I’ve been able to open my doors to friends and family’s pets on countless occasions, where I have always given them the royal treatment. I have experience with dogs and cats of all temperaments, from quiet Collies to lively terriers. I have also done the hard yards with puppies, too, so that’s never an issue. I’ve had pets all my live and know how special your companions really are! I have a large garden to the front and back, conservatory and secure perimeter for your dog to enjoy my home safely. We both work full-time during the week but both working in education we are currently free until September - we walk every day so it would be nice to have a fur friend We are both very calm natured and would ensure that your dog is comfortable before taking them on a walk. We would always walk the dog on a lead as that is what we feel most comfortable with until we can build up trust with the dog - and the dog with us!
“It was the first time we had ever used a dog sitter and didn’t know what to expect and if our dog Ollie would bond to someone else. But ours fears were quashed when we met Jackie at our home for a meet and greet. Ollie absolutely loved her and we felt confident that we were leaving our gorgeous Ollie in the right hands. So we booked her there and then. Jackie is reliable and you can see has a passion and love for animals. Jackie stayed at our home for 2 nights and left our home clean and tidy and Ollie loved being with her. We will definitely be booking Jackie again and highly recommend her services.”

About: I have owned animals since I was a child from guinea pigs to cats to dogs. I currently have 2 dogs and 1 cat and a rabbit. My dog is a husky so I am used to getting out walking daily. I am available all day for drop ins and walks. I own a husky who is very kind and gentle, she gets along with other dogs but can be left at home if it is an issue. I love long walks as well as short ones and plenty of play time. I have a very big secure back garden which is great for the dogs running around or relaxing in. I have a very small for her age husky who gets along with other dogs with no issues.
About: My family have rescued and rehomed animals my entire life. We have also had our own cats and dogs over the years amongst other animals such as birds. We even took care of a little baby lamb we named daffodil who needed to be hand fed. I have experience with westies as we have had these dogs all my life. However, I have cared for other breeds too. I have so much love for animals and I would love to share this with your baby should you need this when you are away. Because let's be real they are always our little babies and we want to know they are safe and loved. I spent ten years working in hospitals caring for people before finding another career and I remember all the stories I would hear of all the special Cats/Dogs that were part of these people lives and family. Happy to answer any questions should you have any. I work flexible hours from home so with enough advance notice I can look after your pet in your own home to provide them with their usual comforts. I have spent the last 10 years working in healthcare so I have knowledge in regards to medication if this is required. I have my own cat and family dog and have looked after cats/dogs previously so understand routines. Of course lots of love and cuddles too. But I will always let them find their trust in me first.

About: Having always been around Dogs, Cats and Aquatics, I have a long history of pet care. Additionally, I have experience with pets with complex medical needs, along with pets of all ages - from over-eager babies to over-opinionated elders. Every circumstance is different, so I try my best to curate my services and tailor them to your needs specifically. I have also had the joy of working with many different breeds and mixes over the years, including all sizes. I currently House and Pet sit full-time. I am open to short or long-term bookings, and am happy to travel if needed, even outside of the distance marked on Rover. Safety is my first priority, and I'd much prefer to be safe than sorry. Any approved off-lead walking is off the table until not only I trust the dog, but the dog trusts me. If I'm not confident in a dogs socialising, or their reactiveness, I will keep to quieter walks or presence in the home. Equally, I will not force a pet to interact with me, a stranger; I'll encourage cuddles, play and routine to maintain a sense of stability for your pets, but please don't worry at the idea of me getting offended if they stick their noses up at me - I'm not their human! Any relationship takes time, and I hope to build trust and respect not only between humans, but between any animals and I as well. I endeavour to be as respectful to your home as possible, while being as practical as possible.

“I honestly couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter. Looking after a Rottweiler isn't for everyone, but it was clear from the start that they were completely comfortable and confident handling a larger, powerful breed. They clearly know how to read dogs, respect their boundaries, and make them feel comfortable and secure. My dog settled with them so well and I came home to a very happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for boy! Nothing was too much trouble for them, they were happy to accommodate whatever they could and were so respectful of my home and routine with Ronnie! It's such a relief finding someone who genuinely understands dogs rather than just watching them, they kept me updated throughout with amazing pictures and I had complete peace of mind while I was away and wouldn't hesitate to leave my Ronnie with them again. Highly recommend to anyone, especially owners of larger breeds! Will never go to anyone else!”

“Thank you so much. Mia is lovely and professional. Came to see Lyra and us beforehand to see her and ask all the questions to ensure all was good for the day. Our nervous greyhound felt comfortable with Mia almost straight away. Will definitely call Mia in the future.”

“This was the first time we have left our numerous fur babies with a non family member, and we can’t speak highly enough of Sophie’s service. Through guiding us how to use the app, pre-visits to get to know the pets (2 cats, 2 dogs), lots of communication, and just a generally nice, professional attitude, we are very happy with the service, and can’t recommend her highly enough. We will be very happy to use her again in the future.”

Proud Mum (Helen) was terrific. She's a lovely, caring person. The dogs were very settled when I returned and had obviously been well loved whilst I was away. The house was immaculate. I can fully recommend Helen and would not hesitate to book her again in the future.

Ellie jumped in last minute to have our Lab during a business trip in the area. Communication was clear, got lovely photos and video and even better was that she was able to pick up and drop off. Mishka got some much needed play time with her dogs and all was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Chorley walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chorley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
