“This was the first time I’ve used Rover and Jane so was a little apprehensive. Contacted Jane who responded immediately. Making the booking was so simple and Jane was so efficient in ensuring my booking was secured. Jane insisted on a drop in so that she could meet me and my cat prior to looking after him. As soon as I met Jane I knew that my cat would be looked after just like I would look after him. She was so friendly and caring and he took to her immediately. Whilst away Jane’s regular check ins and pictures provided reassurance that my cat was having a ball and not missing his family at all. If you're looking for someone to care for your pampered pet just the way you do then I would highly recommend Jane she was amazing.”

About: I will look forward to looking after your pet and wouldn’t want you to worry while you are away. I will send you lots of photos and videos as I know I would love to receive them myself. As well as having experience with lots of pets my dog has had a litter of puppies which I looked after from birth I loved this experience and Perdy was the best mummy I litter trained them all so they did wee wees out side by the time they left us at 10 weeks. I can also look after your fish, Guinea pigs and rabbits I would also like to have a meet up first to make sure your dog likes us and we feel comfortable looking after them. Preferably at my house if it’s boarding or yours if it’s dropping in. Also a trial sleep over if they are staying for more than 3 nights I have recently been inspected by my local council and now have my dog boarding license . This doesn’t change how I look after your dogs Just means I’ve been approved 😊 I am home all of the time apart from the occasional school run for my grandchildren So I am lucky enough to spend lots of time with your dogs My daughter lives near by with her cockapoo. We see her most days for walks. Dogs I regularly look after are cockapoos. Shitzu, sausage dogs spaniels, terriers, and many more mainly small breeds. I have cat sat in peoples homes visiting up to 3 times a day I have a secured garden for your dog to play in with my dog Lots of walks nearby where they can go off lead if this is ok with you I can crate at night or not which ever is your preference. I have learned this year no two dogs are the same so I am very willing to listen to you for your dogs needs and hopefully make them feel at home with us 😊
“Caroline is fantastic ? I have no hesitation in recommending her and indeed have. Caroline was able to be very flexible for me over some very difficult circumstances when my dad was dying. I can't thank or praise Caroline enough. Thank you x”

About: Hello! Unlike some other sitters on Rover, i have a year of dog sitting experience and work experience in a kennels, cattery, riding school and small animal vet clinic. I have been caring for dogs ever since 2012 when i was around seven years old and have also had some experience with rabbits and birds around the age of 4 years old. During my work experience, i have learnt how to analyse basic animal behaviour well and have learnt how to follow a schedule of feeding times, medicine that need to be administered and how to meet the needs of both dogs and cats. I’ve helped with grooming and bathing at the kennels and i am patient at all times, giving space to animals when they need it. I am the type of pet sitter to give some advice to owners if i feel it may benefit the owners and the pet. For example, if i see your dog eats too quickly, i might recommend a slow feeding bowl to reduce chances of things such as GDV happening to your dog. I have helped two owners during my time as a pet sitter as i have noticed medical issues in their dogs such as signs of a urinary infection or epulis. If you do not want advice, please let me know beforehand as i do not tolerate rude behaviour. Im currently available at all times so whatever type of schedule you would like for your pet, i can work around. When a dog is in my own home and is sleeping over, i sleep nearby to make sure that they are comfortable and safe as that is my first priority. I give every dog at least one walk a day (or more if you would like) In my own home, i have an attached house which is kept clean at all times and it has a back garden with tall fences and no grass. Its a relatively big garden with lots of plants and vegetables around. I do have a dog of my own in the house who’s an eight year old Sproodle who is playful but is no threat to other dogs as she loves to greet them no matter the age. She is gentle with puppies and sleeps in her own bed in the kitchen. In my house, i live with two sisters and my mother. No matter the house im caring for your pet in, i will stick to a schedule and your rules however you prefer. I will make sure your pet is entertained and cared for well and will return home happy!
“Jasmine came to see out muttlies the evening before the actual booking. It was a last minute booking and Jasmine kindly agreed after we had been let down by another dog walker. She was absolutely lovely with them yesterday. She has turned up on time tonight and has informed us of all that they have done tonight. Thank you Jasmine. I can’t rate you highly enough and would fully recommend you to anyone and we would definitely use you again. Xx”

About: I have had dogs since being a small child (loved every one ) I treat them as my own. love walking myself so walking dog is not a problem. I am retired so 💯% I have time to walk and pamper hem /her. any special requests not a problem. have all the time in the world to spend time one on one I have a fenced garden and they have the run of the downstairs and garden area all day and most of the evening. no sharps out in the house or garden.
“Juliette has visited Comet several times now and we are super happy with her service. I do not need to worry about her treatment towards Comet (who we have a FF approach with) - even if he gets a bit excitable or clumsy - this is a real relief to know our dog is being treated kindly while having such a fun time. Juliette seems punctual and spends the full booking time with your dog (something, again, previous sitters have not done. Leaving after just 10/15 minutes). She sends lovely photos and summaries of your pets booking. I am sure we will continue to use Juliette, she is a star compared to several pet-sitting businesses we have used previously! Fully recommend her 😊🐾”

“Ryan did a wonderful job of taking care of our boy, and keeping us informed. Booked in for the next drop-ins already. Would highly recommend Ryan - our boy loved him and was very happy with the playtime and cuddles”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life, currently sharing my bed with springer spaniel named Frida. Also love cats - always looking after them when my friends are going on holiday Currently on maternity leave, enjoying time with my baby who would have to join me for all adventures I’m having. Would be awesome if my springer can come too. I am a happy springer spaniel owner, understanding the needs of working breeds, always prioritising their safety and owners requirements- if dog can be trusted off the lead or not.
About: I've looked after friends and family's dogs on an ad-hoc basis over the last 15 years. Have never not owned a dog, so I'm accustomed to having them around. I work full time, but sometimes have the odd week WFH. I live in a flat but still able to take the dog out for breaks every 30 mins as I do this myself anyway when WFH. On a typical WFH day the first walk would be around 3:30pm for an hour. And another 1hr walk later on around 7pm. Although I don't have a fenced garden it is very quiet and safe. I'm surrounded by greenery away from the flat so perfect for walks and sniffs! Plenty of beds/soft sofas/bedding in doors for naptime. And a bath if they need a wash after a muddy walk!
“Charlotte looked after my cats whilst we were away and I couldn’t have been happier! She sent lots of updates and I felt very reassured that the cats were doing well! Would book with her again! Thank you!”

“Thank you Helen for looking after our two cats, they were very happy and well looked after whilst we were away! Helen sent updates with photos after every visit and followed all our requests exactly. We'd happily have her look after our cats again. 5 stars! ”

About: I’m a 21 year old Veterinary Medicine student in her 2nd year of Vet school. I take pride in making sure animals are healthy and happy whilst in my care. Alongside this I’ve studied an animal management BTEC course and got a grade of D*D*D*. I have a wide range of work experience alongside animals including doggy day cares, farm settings and pet shops and I’ve worked with a wide variety of animals. :) Due to university I am only available during weekends to care for your animal. During the weekends I’m available day and night. But I’ll be available more during the summer to fit around your schedule to look after your animal day and night :) I live in a bungalow so is ideal for geriatric pets and I have no other free range animals in the house. I do own a variety of reptiles but they’re kept separated and won’t bother or pose a risk to your animals. I have a fenced garden with grass which is secure and safe.
About: Having had pets all my life and caring for a wide variety of animals, I now want to offer my experience to others. Pet care is easy to find, but finding the right pet care — care that truly suits you and meets your best friend’s individual needs — can feel much harder. Having struggled myself to find the right care for my senior, diabetic dog, I understand how important trust, patience, and attention to detail really are. I understand worries about medication schedules, routines, and whether your pet will receive the same level of care and understanding that you provide at home. This experience inspired me to offer a pet sitting service built around compassion, reliability, and tailored care. I treat every animal as an individual, taking time to understand their personality, health needs, and routines, so you can feel confident they are safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for whilst in my care. As I work from home, I am flexible in terms of your times and specific needs. I will eventually offer a boarding service which will consist of a dedicated space for your cat. I will care for your pet as if they were my own, always prioritising their comfort, safety, and wellbeing. Before any booking, I arrange a meet‑and‑greet to ensure I fully understand both your pet’s individual needs and your expectations. I treat every home with the utmost respect and care, recognising that I am being welcomed into your personal space. By taking time to build trust quickly with both you and your pet, I aim to ease any feelings of worry or anxiety while you’re away. If desired, I am happy to provide regular photo and video updates with each drop‑in visit, offering you peace of mind and reassurance.

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.
Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Chorley pet parents with similar pet households.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chorley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
