About: Hello! Unlike some other sitters on Rover, i have a year of dog sitting experience and work experience in a kennels, cattery, riding school and small animal vet clinic. I have been caring for dogs ever since 2012 when i was around seven years old and have also had some experience with rabbits and birds around the age of 4 years old. During my work experience, i have learnt how to analyse basic animal behaviour well and have learnt how to follow a schedule of feeding times, medicine that need to be administered and how to meet the needs of both dogs and cats. I’ve helped with grooming and bathing at the kennels and i am patient at all times, giving space to animals when they need it. I am the type of pet sitter to give some advice to owners if i feel it may benefit the owners and the pet. For example, if i see your dog eats too quickly, i might recommend a slow feeding bowl to reduce chances of things such as GDV happening to your dog. I have helped two owners during my time as a pet sitter as i have noticed medical issues in their dogs such as signs of a urinary infection or epulis. If you do not want advice, please let me know beforehand as i do not tolerate rude behaviour. Im currently available at all times so whatever type of schedule you would like for your pet, i can work around. When a dog is in my own home and is sleeping over, i sleep nearby to make sure that they are comfortable and safe as that is my first priority. I give every dog at least one walk a day (or more if you would like) In my own home, i have an attached house which is kept clean at all times and it has a back garden with tall fences and no grass. Its a relatively big garden with lots of plants and vegetables around. I do have a dog of my own in the house who’s an eight year old Sproodle who is playful but is no threat to other dogs as she loves to greet them no matter the age. She is gentle with puppies and sleeps in her own bed in the kitchen. In my house, i live with two sisters and my mother. No matter the house im caring for your pet in, i will stick to a schedule and your rules however you prefer. I will make sure your pet is entertained and cared for well and will return home happy!

On weekends we go for walks with Bonnie around the local area. We have a fully fenced garden with a big grass area and patio, we used to breed Labradors so plenty of experience looking after dogs. We have hard floors all across the ground floors and dogs are allowed on the sofa.
“Aaliyah looked after our miniature dachshund, Chorizo, for day care for the first time in preparation for a longer stay we have booked. She was very communicative beforehand and took on board my concerns (he has had IVDD so needs some extra care). She sent me several updates with pictures throughout the day and I could see how happy and settled Chorizo was in her home. He was happy to see us when we arrived to pick him up - but he didn't want to leave Aaliyah and her partner!! We are feeling very reassured ahead of him staying with her in July as we know he will be happy to go back and will be very well looked after.”

“Emily took great care of my small puppy Daisy! Perfect home for daycare with space to run around in the secure garden. Emily's own dogs were lovely with Daisy and Emily took time to understand Daisys needs and daily routine. Clearly a household that love dogs. Thank you Emily and see you again soon.”

About: I've cared for animals most of my life - since retiring I now have the most adorable cockapoo, Lily, she is very socialised and loves other dogs- Lily would be happy to share me with any canine guests! I know how important it is to find the right carer for your pooch because they're members of the family and you want only the best - trusted, loving and reliable - and that's what I can offer. I don't have pet care qualifications - but I possess all the practical and common sense skills required to care for your dog, as well as oodles of cuddles and plenty of walks! I have regularly looked after my friends dogs, a Staffordshire bull terrier, greyhound and Labrador so I’m used to handling different breeds of dogs and managing their needs. My secure garden backs on to woodland and open fields - offering perfect play opportunities - in a lovely part of Wigan Borough. Our dog-friendly home offers open access to dogs that are house trained. I always recommend meet and greets to ensure everybody is happy as well as trial visits/nights to assess how well your pooch will settle in. All dogs have their unique personality traits and some have issues with, for instance, separation anxiety, phobias, etc - so I'm happy to discuss strategies to help manage potential issues. I can administer medications - oral and injection - and will follow advice on medical conditions such as food allergies to the letter. I am retired and home-based and enjoy spending time with my girl, Lily - and I would love to invite other small/medium dogs with a similar happy nature into my home. As a full-time dog owner, I already have an existing routine taking Lily out a minimum of twice daily. We love going to the beach and she regularly joins us when we're out and about. We don’t leave her for long, and only then very rarely. I’m happy to work with owners to agree a suitable routine for their dog. Our home offers a safe and secure environment with a very relaxed and dog-friendly atmosphere. I can be trusted to deliver care in the owner's home, and will happily discuss all aspects in terms of access and security. I will only walk up to 2 dogs at a time and carry spare leashes, water bowls etc. I'm very vigilant around traffic and other dogs/groups of dogs whilst out and about.
About: I have had pets most of my life and enjoy the time with them. I'm retired so have the time to spoil your pet while you enjoy knowing they are well looked after. Im retired and have quite a bit of spare time on my hands. I love having a chat with a dog while walking, its wonderful. My own cats are indoors only as I prefer the safety of this. I cannot have pets boarding at my home due to my own fur babies x
“Mindy and Marley had the most wonderful time with Jessica! They were utterly spoilt, with walkies, cuddles and snuggles on the settee. Jessica was excellent in her in her time keeping for pickup and drop off and made what was otherwise a very tough dayfor me so much less stressful. I can confidently recommend her superb care. Thank you so much, Jess💕💕”

“Millie was very relaxed and happy spending the day with Jo and Peach and we had complete confidence that Millie was well looked after as though she was part of the family. She had a lovely walk and play time. Would highly recommend Mary Puppins and the woof pack and we will definitely be booking again! Ian, Vicky & Millie the dog ?”

“Douglas had a briliant time with Eleanor. She was so accomodating - making sure he felt comfortable for his first stay and offering a meet and greet beforehand - above and beyond what I expected! The photos of Douglas were brilliant and he was a very tired pup when he came home - the sign of a great day :)”

Meg stayed with Alexandra this week for the first time and took to her immediately. We felt very at ease and comfortable with the care that she provided . We would have no hesitation in recommending Alexandra to look after anyone's dog. We have already made a repeat booking for Meg for day care again next week.

Ryan communicated brilliantly throughout the day and kept me updated with regular messages and photos, which was really reassuring. He even walked my very energetic puppy twice! Ralph seemed so happy and clearly loved having a new friend. I’m really pleased and would happily book again. 🐶😊

Sarah is absolutely lovely! It was both mine and my dog’s first time doing this and she was so accommodating and reassuring. Extremely helpful and within just one day, Daisy was excited to see her again! Will definitely be booking Sarah and her lovely home again. Thank you!

There are 2,444 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Chorley. About 87% of Chorley sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Chorley commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.
Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
