“Rachel is just amazing, she met us on one of the most awful rainy windy days to meet and walk Norman before looking after him. Rachel is just a really lovely kind person and Norman took to her straight away and loved his stay. The right amount of feedback to reassure us that Normie was fine and enjoying his stay. Thank you so much Rachel we all really appreciated your care and kindness”

About: I have grown up with pets from a young age, which has given me strong experience and confidence in caring for animals. I currently have a cat of 4 years and a dog of 1 year, so I am familiar with both daily care routines and understanding different pet needs. I am currently not working and I am at home full time, so I have plenty of time to give pets attention, care for them, and play with them. I have a garden and a friendly dog, which helps create a safe and welcoming environment for other pets. I ensure all animals are supervised, well cared for, and introduced carefully to maintain comfort and safety.

My dogs are exceedingly well-behaved and trained, and I take great pride in their behavior. Need help with training your furry friends? I can lend a hand and make sure they learn all the right things. I understand how daunting it can be to leave your pets with a stranger, but I promise you they're in safe hands with me. About: What sets me apart is my ability to adapt to each pet’s individual needs. I have experience with both young and senior pets, so I’m comfortable reinforcing basic training and routines for puppies, as well as providing gentle, attentive care for older animals, including administering medication if needed. I’m patient, reliable, and always focused on making pets feel safe and comfortable. I also keep owners updated with regular messages and photos, so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I work night shifts at the hospital as a Health Care Assistant, so I am used to being responsible, reliable, and caring. Pet care fits well into my routine because I am available around my shifts, especially during the day, on some evenings, and on my days off. I have cared for cats most of my life and currently have two kittens myself, so looking after animals is already part of my daily life. I always make sure pets feel safe, calm, and comfortable. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding times, litter trays, walks, medication if needed, and house rules. In a pet owner’s home, I respect their space and keep everything clean and secure. I give pets gentle attention, patience, and care, especially if they are shy or nervous.
“A really lovely couple. Harley and Ted loved spending the day at the house for the day. They were really attentive and caring towards both dogs. We would definitely recommend and consider using again. Thankyou so much x”

“Lola was happy to stay with Mark and appears to have quickly made herself at home. I felt comfortable leaving her and Mark couldn’t have been more accommodating. Excellent- wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you”

“Danielle was really great with my two who had not really stayed with anyone before. She asked all the right questions and was happy to give updates and even messaged to let me know they had settled after my leaving. Will definitely be using her again on a regular basis.”

About: I absolutely love animals especially dogs. I have recently taken up dog sitting but I’ve had dogs myself, and understand the care and needs they have. I currently work from home and I have a very flexible diary meaning of your dog needs to go outside or feels they need extra attention I have capacity to do this. I have a house with a concrete yard outside the back and I am happy to continuously go outside to support the dog or puppy
About: I love providing care for pet parents, and showing their pets as much love as I show my own. I care for my friends dogs when they're away and they have an opportunity to socialise with Bella (the toy poodle) and Oscar (the labradoodle). We'd love to open our home to other pets so they have somewhere to go when their paw parents are out at work. Bella and Oscar love being around other dogs (and people). I work flexibly and the days in which I accept referrals are on my non-working days. This is to ensure that I can provide my full attention to our guests. I have a fenced garden and friendly fur children who are there to keep your pet company when they're bored of humans. I will provide close supervision of your pet at all times, and I will not leave them unattended in the home.

I have experience with basic obedience training, socialisation, and puppy routines, so your dog’s good habits will be kept consistent. Animals are genuinely my passion — I treat every pet as if they were my own, giving them the same love, patience, and attention they get at home. What sets me apart? I take the time to learn each dog’s personality, quirks, and comfort zone. Whether it’s a shy pup needing slow introductions or a high-energy dog who loves long walks and playtime, I tailor every visit to what they need most. “Absolutely amazing caring couple, Nancy settled straight in with Wesley, she got on so well with pearl and silva, I couldn't have asked for better caring people to watch her for us. Would definitely recommend and you won't regret it. Thanks again.”

“Benji had the best time with Marena and Chelita. He was taken on many walks, played with Chelita’s toys, had naps, even stole some of Chelitas food haha. Thank you for looking after him ❤️”

About: Your dog will be truly spoilt here! I’ve looked after dogs all of my life and we offer a normal family home to give your dog a home from home stay. I only take one dog at a time to provide one to one care and attention, and a safe environment. We offer a loving home where your dog will settle quickly, have lots of cuddles and playtime if they like those things - there are enough of us to make sure they receive all the attention they need! I only take one dog at a time to keep things calm and safe. I’m happy with any feeding and walking patterns, and keeping owners updated with regular photos and messages for peace of mind. I tend to look after small dogs but I will consider medium sized if it’s a fit both ways 😌 I can honestly say that your dog gets treated like part of the family while they’re with me 🐾 I work from home full time during the week so if your pet comes to me, I’m here all of the time! If you are local to me, I can also pop into your home during the day. Weekends, my whole family tends to be here and if we go out, your pet won’t be alone for long or we will take them with us! Your fur baby will be able to sit with me all day and they will get walks and play time between. All we need is their favourite toys and their lead & dog coat for our lovely UK rainy days (unless they hate the rain and won’t walk in it!)

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Saint Helens
This was the first time my two dogs had stayed with Zara, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. She was so kind, caring, and attentive, and it was clear they were well looked after. They came home happy, relaxed, and tired after a fun day. It gave me complete peace of mind knowing they were in such loving hands. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Zara again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their dogs.

We used Jodi to look after our dog, Chester, and couldn’t be happier with the service. He was extremely well cared for, and we received regular updates and lovely photos which really put our minds at ease while we were away. Jodi was also incredibly accommodating when we had a last-minute change of arrangements, which we really appreciated. Chester was clearly happy and relaxed when he was dropped off. Would absolutely recommend and we will be using Jodi again! 🐾

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
