Thank you so much Rachel we all really appreciated your care and kindness”

Happy for them to go on furniture and have free run if the house. I have a secure garden and live by fields so plenty of walks to do

About: We are the proud parents of a 7 year old spaniel who we have had since he was a baby! We’re the kind of people who throw our dog an elaborate birthday party, and would love getting to hang out with (and maybe spoil a little bit) your dog too! Our lives revolve around dogs, whether in the house, playing or having cuddles, or out for long walks! As pet parents ourselves we understand how special your pet is and would always treat them with the same love and care as we want our boy to be treated. While with us they would be another member of our family and get all the cuddles and play time they want! We have a big garden with a tall fence so your baby will be nice and safe when playing outside. We’ll send you lots of photos and updates about what your baby is getting up to.

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Saint Helens
This was the first time my two dogs had stayed with Zara, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. She was so kind, caring, and attentive, and it was clear they were well looked after. They came home happy, relaxed, and tired after a fun day. It gave me complete peace of mind knowing they were in such loving hands. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Zara again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their dogs.

We used Jodi to look after our dog, Chester, and couldn’t be happier with the service. He was extremely well cared for, and we received regular updates and lovely photos which really put our minds at ease while we were away. Jodi was also incredibly accommodating when we had a last-minute change of arrangements, which we really appreciated. Chester was clearly happy and relaxed when he was dropped off. Would absolutely recommend and we will be using Jodi again! 🐾

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
