About: Dog owner of 15 years of a rescue border collie. Experience with nervous behaviour. Veterinary physiotherapist with specialist interest in canine physio. Training in dog psychology. Love dogs! I currently work part time. Although my schedule can change week to week I will be clear about my availability and 100% reliable when bookings are confirmed. I have no dogs or children in my home, so your dog gets my full attention. We have a small fenced garden but we benefit from miles of walks on Sankey Valley and numerous local fields and parks to play on.

Rachel is really lovely and welcoming. Travis went running straight in and when I went to pick him up, he kept going back over to Rachel. I got updates throughout the day which is really reassuring and it is lovely to see that he is settled, comfortable and clearly being cared for to a high standard while with someone else. I would definitely recommend Rachel and use her again if I need someone!

About: What sets me apart is my ability to adapt to each pet’s individual needs. I have experience with both young and senior pets, so I’m comfortable reinforcing basic training and routines for puppies, as well as providing gentle, attentive care for older animals, including administering medication if needed. I’m patient, reliable, and always focused on making pets feel safe and comfortable. I also keep owners updated with regular messages and photos, so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I work night shifts at the hospital as a Health Care Assistant, so I am used to being responsible, reliable, and caring. Pet care fits well into my routine because I am available around my shifts, especially during the day, on some evenings, and on my days off. I have cared for cats most of my life and currently have two kittens myself, so looking after animals is already part of my daily life. I always make sure pets feel safe, calm, and comfortable. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding times, litter trays, walks, medication if needed, and house rules. In a pet owner’s home, I respect their space and keep everything clean and secure. I give pets gentle attention, patience, and care, especially if they are shy or nervous.

About: I have grown up with pets from a young age, which has given me strong experience and confidence in caring for animals. I currently have a cat of 4 years and a dog of 1 year, so I am familiar with both daily care routines and understanding different pet needs. I am currently not working and I am at home full time, so I have plenty of time to give pets attention, care for them, and play with them. I have a garden and a friendly dog, which helps create a safe and welcoming environment for other pets. I ensure all animals are supervised, well cared for, and introduced carefully to maintain comfort and safety.

About: I love providing care for pet parents, and showing their pets as much love as I show my own. I care for my friends dogs when they're away and they have an opportunity to socialise with Bella (the toy poodle) and Oscar (the labradoodle). We'd love to open our home to other pets so they have somewhere to go when their paw parents are out at work. Bella and Oscar love being around other dogs (and people). I work flexibly and the days in which I accept referrals are on my non-working days. This is to ensure that I can provide my full attention to our guests. I have a fenced garden and friendly fur children who are there to keep your pet company when they're bored of humans. I will provide close supervision of your pet at all times, and I will not leave them unattended in the home.

About: I have looked after a wide range of animals for family and friends for most of my life. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and find it incredibly rewarding to care for them and ensure they are happy, safe, and well looked after. I have a friendly, well-socialised dog who loves to play and spend time with other dogs. He also enjoys being around cats, although they don't always share his enthusiasm! I I recently resigned from a high-pressure role to focus on improving my work-life balance and overall well-being. I believe there is no better way to do that than by spending time caring for animals, especially dogs. I genuinely enjoy being around them and find working with animals both rewarding and fulfilling. I have a secure, fenced garden where dogs can safely play and relax. I also have a friendly little dog who enjoys the company of other dogs and is well-socialised. In addition, I live close to several recreation parks and woodland areas, providing plenty of opportunities for enjoyable walks, exercise, and outdoor exploration.

About: Hi there! Me and my family are dedicated pet sitters who treats every furry guest like family. We live in a pet-friendly detached house located in a quiet and safe house development. Pets can also enjoy fresh air and sunshine in the enclosed garden. Whether your pet loves playtime, quiet cuddles, or scenic walks, I tailor each stay to their personality and needs. I keep a calm, safe, and loving environment where pets feel comfortable and cared for — just like at home. You’ll receive regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your furry friend is happy and in good hands. Services we offer: 🐶 Dog boarding & daycare 🐕‍🦺 Dog walks & drop-in visits 🐱 Cat care 💊 Medication administration (if needed) We’m committed to providing top-notch care, clear communication, and peace of mind. Pet care is a natural and enjoyable part of my everyday routine. I structure my days around the pets I host — starting each morning with walks, feeding, and playtime, and keeping plenty of breaks throughout the day for attention, cuddles, and outdoor time. I’m around the house to give pets constant care and supervision. In the evenings, I make sure everyone gets one last round of outdoor time, dinner, and lots of affection before winding down for a calm night. Caring for pets isn’t just a task for me — it’s part of my lifestyle and something I enjoy every day. When caring for pets in my home, I make sure they feel completely safe, comfortable, and loved from the moment they arrive. I keep a calm, clean environment and tailor each pet’s routine to match what they’re used to at home — including their feeding schedule, walks, and preferred play or rest times. Our building is wonderfully pet-friendly, with an enclosed garden for fresh air and sunshine. Pets have plenty of space to relax or play, and I’m always nearby to give them attention and supervision throughout the day. When I care for pets in an owner’s home, I do my best to maintain their regular routine and environment so they feel secure and happy. I follow all care instructions closely — from feeding and walks to medication and bedtime habits — and make sure the home is left tidy and cared for.

Amanda has been amazing accommodating Solomon for daycare we had never used dog daycare so we were worried and apprehensive at first but after his first visit we where totally reassured, Solomon gets excited when we get close to Amanda’s home, because he knows where he’s going, which is very reassuring. Amanda sends plenty of updates on how Solomon is throughout the day. You can tell Amanda loves dogs, she has a very caring manner. I would not hesitate in recommending Amanda she looks after Solomon like was her one of her own.

This was the first time my two dogs had stayed with Zara, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. She was so kind, caring, and attentive, and it was clear they were well looked after. They came home happy, relaxed, and tired after a fun day. It gave me complete peace of mind knowing they were in such loving hands. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Zara again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their dogs.

We used Jodi to look after our dog, Chester, and couldn’t be happier with the service. There are 2,536 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Saint Helens. About 88% of Saint Helens sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Saint Helens commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
