“Stan had a brilliant time at Sarah's, a testament to her, that he actually ate when he was with her. Stan normally won't eat his food for around 12 hours if I'm not around, even with my husband, so for Stan to eat is a huge sign he was happy. He came back tired 🤣 obviously been a busy boy. Thanks for taking such good care of Stan Sarah and we look forward to seeing you next week 😄”

“Neda has been amazing with my little dog, she has kept me updated through his stay, and I can see he’s had a great time with Neda. He loves attention, and loves playing in the garden, I can see he got well looked after. She had been a life saver. I would use Neda again.”

“Very grateful to Hannah for doing such a wonderful job looking after our dog. She sent regular updates and photos which was nice to see. She took him to Chorlton Waterpark. Our dog loves Chorlton Water Park. Thank you Hannah and we will book again when needed with you soon!”

“Annie has been amazing with Ruby, she is normally wary of strangers but after the initial meet and greet, Ruby snuggled next to Annie and was very relaxed and comfortable throughout the day. Would recommend Annie to all doggy parents, and will certainly book another appointment with her!”

“Amelia, Was amazing with our puppy Ozzy. He is a quite a handful only being 11 weeks old. She was so kind and sending us regular updates on Ozzy and pictures. He looked rather relaxed. Thank you Amelia We will be using Amelia with our beautiful Ozzy again”

“Cathie has been brilliant, my partner and I have left our puppy with her twice now and he seems to love it. Cathie sends us loads of photos of how he is going and really helped us out with a late notice booking. Recommend highly and will definitely go to her again.”

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs since I was 8 years old, when my family adopted our first dog, Tom. Since then, we’ve rescued three more, giving me plenty of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all shapes and sizes. I also volunteer at Manchester Dogs' Home, where I’ve gained confidence in walking and handling dogs of all breeds and temperaments. In addition, I’ve spent time caring for puppies, including dog-sitting for my friend’s Dachshund, Maverick. While my family dog, Tula, now lives with my mum abroad and I miss her dearly, I’d love to have more dogs in my life. I’m excited to share my love for dogs and my experience with yours, whether they’re big or small, young or old. I live by Fog Lane Park and am only a short walk from the River Mersey - perfect dog walking locations! I am also free on some weekends. I provide calm, reliable, and loving care tailored to each pet’s routine and personality. Whether pets are staying in my home or I’m caring for them in theirs, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well-looked-after. I stick closely to feeding, walking, medication, and play schedules, and I’m always mindful of home routines and boundaries. I treat every pet as if they were my own and keep owners updated with regular photos and messages for peace of mind.

“The cookie was very well taken care of. We received regular video updates, and the communication was excellent throughout. I would definitely recommend this service and will absolutely use it again in the future.”

“Groot could not have been happier. He had a great time and came back home at the end of the day tired but with a big grin on his face. Even though our plans changed last minute, Melissa was really flexible and I was able to drop him off earlier than previously planned. Groot was super happy and the updates throughout the day were fab. Will definitely be using them again!”

“Sarah has been a fabulous sitter for our pup Teddy. She is very accommodating, provides a lovely warm and settled atmosphere and really helped us with the day to day training of a young pup whilst I juggled work in an office and childcare. Teddy always came home happy and loved his days with Sarah! Would definitely recommend.”

“Demi was great and responsive from the moment of enquiry. Providing updates on other dog sitting prior to my own giving me a peace of mind this was the right environment for my own adolescent puppy that needs a lot of affection/entertaining and kept to his usual walk schedual. Lots of updates throughout his stay and he seemed almost hesitate to return at the end. Would definitely recommend and will be rebooking for future stays.”

“Valeria is an amazing dog sitter. Really responsive to my messages right from the start. Sent updates & photo's of my dog throughout the day. I will definitely be using her again to take such good care of my girl.”

“Candace was fantastic! I contacted her at v short notice & she was super accommodating & made Mae feel so welcome in her lovely pooch friendly home. She gave me regular updates and gave Mae a lovely fun safe day of pup sitting. She went the extra mile - thanks so much!”

About: I offer calm, home-from-home boarding for small to medium dogs. I usually welcome just one household at a time, so your dog gets plenty of company, attention and space to settle in. I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal routine, including walks, meals and sleeping habits. You’ll get regular photo updates while you’re away. My home is best suited to friendly, house-trained dogs who enjoy a relaxed environment. I work from home most of the week, so dogs have plenty of company throughout the day. My routine is flexible and includes regular toilet breaks, walks and plenty of time to relax at home. I keep things intentionally small and usually host just one household at a time. This gives dogs a quiet, settled environment without lots of unfamiliar dogs coming and going. I have a secure garden, supervise outdoor time and always follow each dog’s normal routine and owner instructions.

We reached out to Neda last minute, the day before we needed care and right from the start, her communication was brilliant. She asked thorough questions about Wilma’s routine and gave us so much reassurance when we dropped her off the next day. During the day, Neda sent us a lovely video update of Wilma getting cuddles, which was such a thoughtful touch. At collection, she gave us a full update on how good Wilma had been. Wilma is back home now, completely happy and relaxed, so we know she had a wonderful time. Neda is so kind and reliable, we will 100% be booking her again! 🐾 Thanks so much Neda ☺️

Eva and Mike are truly fantastic! From initial communication and arranging a meeting and greet to how well they looked after Groot, they were wonderful. They put up with me talking their ears off about him, things to note, as well as his routine etc but were really engaged. They really took care of him during the 2 days he was there. He came back happy and well looked after. Would absolutely recommend and we look forward to booking with them again. Thank you Eva and Mike!

I can’t recommend Emma highly enough. Charlie has a wonderful time when he stays with Emma and her partner. They send me pictures to keep me updated and I can see Charlie is a very contented dog in their care. Charlie has stayed several times already and is booked in again in the near future

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
