About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs since I was 8 years old, when my family adopted our first dog, Tom. Since then, we’ve rescued three more, giving me plenty of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all shapes and sizes. I also volunteer at Manchester Dogs' Home, where I’ve gained confidence in walking and handling dogs of all breeds and temperaments. Samantha looked after Cody, my anxious dog, for the day and was absolutely lovely with her. Cody can take a while to warm up to new people, but Sam was so patient, taking the time to get to know her and help her settle in at her own pace. She clearly worked her magic because Cody soon felt comfortable and had a great day, with lovely walks and ball play! It was really reassuring knowing Sam understood her nerves and made sure she felt safe and happy. I’d happily trust Cody with her again.
I would definitely recommend Tiago. He took excellent care of our pup (Hunter), and Sent regular updates containing super quality photos of our boy. In each photo I could see how relaxed and happy my dog was. Hunter enjoyed a day filled with lots of cuddles, enrichment and plenty of walks. Tiago was very responsive to messages from Both me and my husband, giving the security any dog parents would want. Thankyou for your excellent service! We will book again in the future 😊

We had a great experience with Mei Y! She was kind, polite and very professional. She kept us updated throughout his stay, Hulk appears to have enjoyed himself and we got a lovely picture of him! We will be using her services again and can definitely recommend her.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
