“Sofie is a wonderful Dogsitter. Carson, our very anxious and reactive whippet, took to her immediately. Sophie just had a gentle and relaxed way with him that meant he attached to her and trusted her completely. She was also super helpful when we got stuck abroad cos of the weather and couldn’t get back to UK on time. Flexible and communicative, Sophie is the ideal person to book!”

“Chloe was lovely as always! Benny had a fantastic time and I really appreciated the regular adorable photo updates. Everytime I book with Chloe, I am always stress free because I know Benny is being looked after well :)”

“A really lovely, professional & responsible sitter - our kitties were in excellent hands. We received regular updates, & Andrea went above & beyond to make sure that their every need & want was catered for. I missed them but I never worried once about them. We will definitely be using your services again - thank you so much for treating our kitties so well!”

About: I grew up with and taken care of a dog and cats in my home and looked after and played with all my cousins many dogs & cats. When my neighbours were away I was always asked to walk and feed their dog which I was always more than happy to do I spent hours playing with him! I do work full time but a lot of the time I work from home or if I’m in office I finish at an early time like 15:30/16:00. I am free most weekends. I have a fenced garden and a pet friendly home. I will care to any of their needs, always keep an eye on them and give them as much play and cuddles as they want
“We felt completely comfortable leaving Pablo in Howard’s care. From the initial meet and great, he showed he really understood Pablo’s excitable nature and took the time to build trust and rapport with him. He clearly knows a lot about dogs and cares for them deeply! Would definitely book again in a heartbeat.”

About: I’ve taken care of both dogs and cats over the past 3 years. From dog walks for friends, to caring for my own cat, Nico, for 2 and a half years. I primarily work from home, so I have plenty of time to play with your felines and pups. I am free around midday, during the holidays/bank holidays, and weekends. My cats were indoor cats. I never travelled with them, as I didn’t want to stress them out. I played with them often, to keep them healthy (and prevent midnight zoomies).

“Jamie was fantastic looking after our kittens while we were away! It was the longest we'd left them, so I was quite nervous, but her regular updates and photos really put my mind at ease. The kittens looked so happy and content, it was clear they loved her😊”

“Amanda was fabulous, and I felt totally happy with her looking after Newt. She was booked for an overnight stay, as I don’t like leaving her alone overnight. I was given regular updates, my home was treated to the upmost respect and most important of all Newt was happy and calm when I got home. Would absolutely not hesitate to book Amanda again.”

“Alix came round to my house to look after Maggie. Maggie is great with people but needs building up slowly with new situations and Alix was very patient with her. I would definitely use Alix again. Shes very sensible and I felt really safe leaving her with my fur child.”

“Jess really helped us out at short notice looking after our elderly cat and anxious rescue dog for the weekend. She instantly formed a bond with them both and sent us regular updates and pictures throughout. Communication was excellent and she took great care of our girls and house, wouldn't hesitate to book again in the future. Thanks Jess! ❤️”

“Caroline was wonderful! As soon as she came to meet Clover she loved her & was happy to play and cuddle with her. She sent lots of lovely photos of Clover and seemed like they had a fab time. The house was also super tidy when we came back. Thank you so much! We would definitely have Caroline look after Clover again.”

About: I grew up with two cats since age 10, and whilst I've never been able to own my own dog (parents had allergies) I alwayd loved taking my friends dogs for walks. Now I have a flat I am keen to interact with pets again I work a hybrid job, and can choose the days I work from home, do with advanced noticed can sit most days. I tend to walk 1 hour at lunch and 2 hours after work, so more than happy to take on dogs with high energy/ need long walks I have an open kitchen/living space, with fake plants (no toxic flowers etc) and all food stored securely away in cupboards. The whole apartment is pet friendly with shared fenced gardens and beautiful local parks/ walks. The space is regularly cleaned, and is a safe quiet environments for pets
“Gabriella did an amazing job looking after our 11 week old puppy for the day. I normally work from home and had been worried about attending a conference and having to leave the puppy, however Gabriella put my mind at ease and even passed on some tips from her family dogs. I would recommend her to any pet owner. Thanks again”

“Mads was brilliant with my little Poppy, who has some separation anxiety. I was in Manchester for work for a few days and he came over to the Airbnb two days in a row to look after her during working hours while I was at the office. Poppy clearly adored him from the reaction when he turned up on day 2! Mads took her for some lovely walks and keep me updated with some great photos. Brilliant on communication too. I hope to book him again when I’m next in Manchester with Poppy”

“Olivia is amazing! We knew from the first time we met her she’d be great at looking after our crazy cocker spaniel. Olivia’s communication is brilliant and she kept us up to date with photos. Thank you so much Olivia, we’re sure Lola had a great time and we hope you’ll look after her again! xx”

“Anna stayed in my flat watching over my cat Oliver for almost two weeks with a one week notice. He doesn’t take to strangers but after a couple of days they became good friends ☺️ It means the world when you walk through the door and your pet looks happy and not scared. Not to mention that the flat looked exactly as clean as I left it. Definitely would recommend and will repeat xx”

“Dan was amazing with Monte. Very kind and friendly at the meet and greet and Monte took an instant liking to him. I knew Monte would be in safe hands as Dan made sure he knew everything about Monte’s routine and I came back to a very happy dog and I need to give Dan extra praise for accommodating my later than last minute request to change plans due to a train nightmare which made me late coming back. Will definitely ask Dan again to look after Monte.”

“Sendy was fantastic, Bear took to her straight away and was clearly really calm and comfortable with her. I’d been a little nervous about leaving him but he was at ease before I even left. Communication was great, would highly recommend!”

“Juliette looked after our dog Murphy after a last minute request. She was so lovely and our dog loved her. She kept me up to date with how he was getting on. Will definitely use her services again.”

A really lovely, professional & responsible sitter - our kitties were in excellent hands. Sarah and her husband Stuart made our holiday stress free. Knowing we had left our two crazy miniature schnauzers in the more than capable care of Sarah and Stuart was invaluable to our family. We had plenty of updates each day whilst we were away and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them both to my friends with fur babies and we wouldn’t think twice about leaving the dogs with them both. Thank you Sarah and Stuart for everything you have done 🥰

Sarah house sat our rescue dog for a long weekend and she nothing but attentive, communicative and looked after our house so well. Our dog can be a bit wary and anxious around new people but when we’d received images of her cuddling up to Sarah within a matter of hours, we knew we’d hit gold! I’d have no hesitation in booking her again.

I can’t recommend Roslyn highly enough! From the moment we met, she was friendly, professional, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. She took amazing care of my dogs and cat and kept me updated with messages and photos throughout, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. When I returned, all of my pets were happy, relaxed, and clearly very well looked after. It’s obvious that she goes above and beyond to make sure every animal feels comfortable, loved, and cared for. Knowing they were in such safe and caring hands made all the difference. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely caring pet sitter. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of my dogs and cat!

Chloe was amazing with my puppy. She sent me lots of photo and video updates and was super contactable throughout. I felt really comfortable leaving Elvis with Chloe and he was super happy and sleepy from all the playing and cuddles! Would definitely recommend ❤️

Caroline was wonderful! As soon as she came to meet Clover she loved her & was happy to play and cuddle with her. She sent lots of lovely photos of Clover and seemed like they had a fab time. The house was also super tidy when we came back. Thank you so much! We would definitely have Caroline look after Clover again.

Another fantastic booking with Phil, always leaves the house spotless and I have no worries at all leaving Rory with him. Phil takes the time to get to know your dog and routines and I know Rory will always be well looked after. Keeps you updated on how they are getting on and really puts your mind at ease!

Larissa is absolutely wonderful. So many good things to say about her-the most important thing is that she loves animals and went well above and beyond in caring for my high maintenance rescues- the result is that my dogs absolutely adored her and cuddled up to her immediately. One of my dogs needs ointment in her eye multiple times daily and Larissa handled it like a pro. I’m nervous leaving them due to their issues and she sent updates on progress, adorable photos, and was amazingly communicative. Being rescues (as well as stubborn French Bulldogs) they can pull on the lead - I shared my concerns and Larissa took my concerns seriously and was attentive and intentional about it and she kept them in check and safe from their own idiocy so that I didn’t worry about them while we were away. Larissa was so respectful of our home- my kitchen was definitely cleaner when she left than when she arrived. I cannot recommend Larissa highly enough. I’m so grateful she’s in my neighbourhood and I will definitely be asking her to take care of our gremlins again.

Rosa has been a fantastic dog sitter! She took time to play and stay with our Labrador, and carefully followed what our dog needed in terms of medication and toilet breaks. Updates were provided daily. It was a huge weight off knowing that our dog was in capable hands. Thank you Rosa! I will definitely be booking again, and I know Stitch will be so excited to see you next time

Lola and Luna stayed with Hannah for a weekend and they absolutely loved it. Lola is usually quite nervous and timid with new people/places but she was so settled because of how great Hannah was with her. Hannah kept us updated with pictures and they were having so much fun: lots of cuddles! We will definitely be using Hannah again in the future.

Daisy was so great at looking after my kitten, he is super fussy and doesn’t often cuddle anybody apart from me and my partner and he absolutely loved her. He was even cuddling her on the sofa ! Knowing he was super happy with her from the updates and pictures she sent, it ensured I could then relax and enjoy my weekend away! I would 100% recommend and will be booking her again! ☺️ It feels so good to have found a great cat sitter!

I found Emma to sit with our dog for an evening and it worked perfectly. Emma is so lovely and made time to pop round a few weeks before to meet us and we chatted through everything. I felt so comfortable having Emma in our home and she sent us updates and photos which was much appreciated. I’m really grateful to have found Emma and I will definitely be booking again soon. Thank you!

I’m Flori and I had a great time with Francesca while my mummy was away! She took me to my favourite cafe and on lots of walks so i was extra sleepy while i waited for mummy to get home! She fed me on time and gave me my medication easily! Plus she sent my mum lots of cool pictures to stay updated. Your furry friends would love to have her look after them too!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Salford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
