Beau has been amazing and I would highly recommend. Our dog Dottie was loved and cared for so well whilst we were away. Beau sent us regular updates so we could see how much fun Dottie was having and how relaxed she was. Beau looked after Dottie in our home and we came back to an immaculate house and a very happy Dottie 😊. Massive thank you again to Beau 😊

It's the first time of using Rover. I must say that Darren was a very professional young man and he looked after my dogs and house like he was a family member. I will be using him again next time we are going away. The only thing I would change on the web site is the contract information for sitter and home owner is correct.

About: I’ve spent years caring for dogs and cats belonging to family, friends, and neighbours, giving me experience with pets of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments. From daily walks and feeding to playtime, grooming, and sticking to established routines, I understand how important consistency is for a pet’s wellbeing. I’m comfortable caring for both young and senior pets, ensuring puppies get the patience and attention they need while older pets receive gentle care and a slower pace. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine, and I make sure I have the time to give each pet the attention they deserve. Whether it’s morning and evening walks, feeding, playtime, or simply keeping them company, I’m happy to plan my schedule around their needs. I enjoy being active and spending time outdoors, so regular walks are something I genuinely look forward to. I also understand the importance of maintaining a pet’s usual routine, so I’ll follow their feeding times, exercise schedule, and any specific care instructions to help them feel comfortable and settled while you’re away. In my home, I provide a calm, pet-friendly environment with plenty of attention, regular feeding, exercise, playtime, and supervision. In a pet owner’s home, I follow their routine as closely as possible so they can stay relaxed in a familiar setting. I’m happy to care for pets according to their individual needs, whether that means walks, feeding, litter box or potty breaks, administering oral medication, companionship, or simply keeping them company. I always make sure they have fresh water, a clean space, and plenty of affection while respecting any boundaries or training routines they’ve been taught.

Dan was amazing with Monte. Very kind and friendly at the meet and greet and Monte took an instant liking to him. I knew Monte would be in safe hands as Dan made sure he knew everything about Monte’s routine and I came back to a very happy dog and I need to give Dan extra praise for accommodating my later than last minute request to change plans due to a train nightmare which made me late coming back. Will definitely ask Dan again to look after Monte.

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. Growing up, I had four cats at different stages of my childhood until I was 17, as well as two guinea pigs. These experiences helped me develop a natural understanding of animals’ needs, personalities, and behaviour from an early age. I have experience caring for a dog that I lived with for a year in one home. I enjoyed taking the dog for daily morning walks, providing companionship, attention, and care as part of its routine. In another home, I lived with and cared for two cats, two rabbits, and two guinea pigs, looking after their daily needs and helping them feel comfortable and well cared for. What makes me different is the genuine love, patience, and kindness I bring to every animal. I believe pets are part of the family, and I treat them with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I take time to build trust and understand each pet’s individual personality and routine. I am reliable, responsible, and attentive to detail. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing will always be my priority. I will provide a calm, loving, and safe environment, with regular updates and photos, so you can have peace of mind while you are away. I have a flexible schedule and can dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care. I enjoy creating a calm and reliable routine that includes walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship. I am happy to adapt to each pet’s individual needs and follow their usual routine to help them feel comfortable and secure while their owner is away. When caring for pets in their owner’s home, I focus on keeping their familiar routine and environment as comfortable as possible. I treat every pet with patience, kindness, and respect, while carefully following the owner’s instructions regarding feeding, walks, playtime, and any special needs. I understand that pets are family, and building trust is very important. I provide gentle, attentive care and make sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and loved. I also send regular updates and photos, so owners can have peace of mind knowing their pets are in caring and responsible hands.

About: Hello! I'm Georgia, a dedicated animal lover based in Salford who understands that pets are family. I have both owned and looked after many animals over the years - including cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, also hamsters & rabbits. I have a patient and compassionate approach to caring for animals and other peoples homes. As part of my freelance work, I regularly visit clients' homes, so I understand the importance of being trustworthy, respectful, and dependable. I am DBS checked, giving you added peace of mind when inviting me into your home to care for your pets. It is very important to me that I keep the same routine for your pets while you are away - whether that means energetic games with a playful puppy, gentle care for a senior dog, or quiet companionship for a shy cat. Communication is one of my strongest personal traits, so be assured you will be kept at ease when away from your furry loved one. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! As someone who works part-time, I have the flexibility and time to dedicate myself fully to caring for animals. Whether it’s a midday cat cuddle or a long morning dog walk, I fit pet care seamlessly into my schedule, making sure your furry family members get the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve. I know that pets are happiest when they can stay in their own familiar surroundings, so I'll do everything I can to keep their routine as normal as possible while you're away. I'll make sure your pet is fed on schedule, has fresh water at all times, gets plenty of exercise and playtime, and receives lots of love and attention tailored to their personality. Whether your dog enjoys long walks and games or your cat prefers quiet companionship and gentle affection, I'll adapt my care to meet their individual needs. I'll also keep your home clean and tidy by picking up after your pet, cleaning litter trays, washing food and water bowls, and leaving everything just as I found it. If your pet requires medication, I'm happy to administer it according to your instructions. Throughout my visits, I'll keep you updated with regular messages and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for. I'll treat both your home and your pets with the same care and respect that I would my own, ensuring you return to a content pet and a tidy home.

About: I've spent most of my life looking after dogs and have grown up with 8 family dogs, including Toy and Miniature Poodles, French Bulldogs and a Cocker Spaniel. They've all had their own personalities and needs, so I'm used to adapting my care to suit each dog. I'm comfortable caring for puppies, adult dogs and senior dogs, as well as dogs that are a little nervous or reactive. I understand that every dog is different, and I'm always patient, calm and happy to let them get to know me at their own pace. I'm also confident giving medication when needed, including tablets, ear drops, eye drops, ointments and insulin injections, always following the owner's instructions carefully. As well as caring for my own family dogs, I regularly dog sit for my sister's dogs and have completed a 7-day house and dog sit for a friend while they were on holiday. I've also cat sat for friends several times, including feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter trays, playing with them and making sure they had plenty of company. My professional background is in medical laboratories, where I've worked as a laboratory manager and senior scientist. Those roles required a high level of responsibility, attention to detail and following procedures carefully—qualities that I also bring to caring for pets. Although I'm new to Rover, caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. I'll treat every pet as if they were my own and always do my best to make sure they feel safe, happy and loved while you're away. I currently on a career break, so I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care. I am available for walks, drop-in visits and house sitting, and I can work around each pet's usual routine to help keep their day as normal and comfortable as possible. I understand that consistency is important for pets, so I always make sure to follow their usual feeding times, exercise routines and any specific instructions provided by their owner. Alongside my love of animals, my professional background is in medical laboratories, where I've worked as a Laboratory Manager and Senior Scientist. My career has taught me to be organised, dependable and highly attentive to detail—qualities that are equally important when caring for someone's beloved pet. Whether it's following feeding schedules, administering medication according to instructions or noticing changes in behaviour, I always take my responsibilities seriously. I am organised, reliable and happy to provide regular updates and photos, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is being well cared for while you are away. The safety and wellbeing of every pet I look after is my top priority. Before caring for a pet, I like to understand their personality, routine, likes, dislikes and any special requirements so I can provide care that suits them as an individual. When visiting a pet owner's home, I will treat their home with the same respect I would expect for my own. I will carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, walks, medication and any other routines, while making sure pets feel comfortable and relaxed in their familiar environment. Having grown up with eight family dogs and cared for dogs and cats for friends, I understand that every animal has their own personality and needs. I am comfortable with puppies, senior pets, and nervous or reactive dogs, and I always take a calm and patient approach to building trust. I also have experience administering medication, including tablets, ear drops, eye drops, ointments and insulin injections, when required and following the owner's guidance carefully.

About: I’m a Spanish that moved to uk some time ago. At home we always had a cat with us, or even two. I love to spend time with my cats and I miss them. Every time I can I travel back to Spain to see my cats at my mom house. Now, we’ve got only one cat, Kitty, yes very obvious name, she is a beautiful black cat with green eyes, she has been with us for over 10 years now, I’ve even got a tattoo of her. She is still a very playful cat and everytime I go to visit the family we spend all the time playing.

Outstanding service and communication, couldn't be happier. Larissa is absolutely wonderful. So many good things to say about her-the most important thing is that she loves animals and went well above and beyond in caring for my high maintenance rescues- the result is that my dogs absolutely adored her and cuddled up to her immediately. One of my dogs needs ointment in her eye multiple times daily and Larissa handled it like a pro. I’m nervous leaving them due to their issues and she sent updates on progress, adorable photos, and was amazingly communicative. Being rescues (as well as stubborn French Bulldogs) they can pull on the lead - I shared my concerns and Larissa took my concerns seriously and was attentive and intentional about it and she kept them in check and safe from their own idiocy so that I didn’t worry about them while we were away. Larissa was so respectful of our home- my kitchen was definitely cleaner when she left than when she arrived. I cannot recommend Larissa highly enough. I’m so grateful she’s in my neighbourhood and I will definitely be asking her to take care of our gremlins again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Salford on Rover is £33.35 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 2,914 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Salford. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Salford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Salford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
