“Chloe looked after my 2 dogs for the first time, sent me lots of photos and videos of them playing and having loads of cuddles. Very happy and will definitely book with again. Thank you Chloe”

“Jamie was fantastic looking after our kittens while we were away! It was the longest we'd left them, so I was quite nervous, but her regular updates and photos really put my mind at ease. The kittens looked so happy and content, it was clear they loved her😊”

“Alix was brilliant looking after Luna for us for a week whilst we were away . She kept us updated with how Luna was doing and looked after our home leaving everywhere clean and tidy . Luna obviously had a lovely time”

About: I have had dogs my whole life, from when I was born until now (aged 29) and would class myself as a firm dog lover! Dogs naturally pick up energy and I am always making new dog friends. Ever since I moved from my family home 4 years ago, I miss smudge everyday. Dog sitting gives me the feeling that I am home again and able to cuddle, play, feed, walk and chill with a furry companion. Sitting practicality: Me and my partner (who is also a dog lover), live in Salford right near Peel Park - a perfect dog walking spot for your loved baby. We can cater to any specific dog diets or ability needs and have experience with family dogs, friends, neighbours and online enquiries of dog sitting for various dogs from Shih tzu puppies, poodles, French bulldogs to Labradors and more. Our flat is a safe, warm and clean environment for your beloved pet. We will ensure any brief is met and we are happy to meet for a chat prior to agreement of sitting your dog if required. As I am freelance and my work is mainly remote, I offer a flexible schedule to my own timings - meaning whenever your doggy would need a walk, feed, play, or more I can work around to make this happen. The weekends are mostly free and there is both myself & my partner available so two dog sitters and schedules for the price of 1! Living in a dog friendly building in Manchester provides benefits as there is always dogs out on the green if your dog is friendly. If your doggy is more antisocial we can take them on a more secluded walking area or green. We have ensured safety measures, there is no balcony in our apartment so no risks there. We are stocked with dog treats, puppy pads, water / food bowls, toys and more to ensure your baby has the best say! We have even asked the owners to send voicenotes before so that we can play them if your dog does feel uncomfortable at any time.
About: Hi! I’ve been watching and caring for elderly and young dogs since high school. I am a huge pet lover and love to care for animals. I have cared for elderly dogs, injured dogs, cats, and puppies! I am a full time law student. I’m only in class two days a week so I am available to walk and care for pets. I’m an early riser and enjoy walks. I live in a flat with my partner who is also a Rover sitter. I live on a city-like street which is moderately quiet. I currently have no pets so I can accommodate your pet.
About: I’ve always loved being around dogs and I regularly walk friends’ dogs simply because I enjoy it. I spent a lot of time helping care for a husky, which taught me patience, structure, lead control, and how much each dog has their own personality. What sets me apart is that I don’t treat dog walking as just a quick job. I pay attention to the dog’s mood, energy, confidence, and routine. I’m comfortable with big and energetic dogs, but I’ll take a calmer approach with nervous dogs. I also have experience with feeding, basic training, and dogs that pull on the lead. I’ll always follow the owner’s instructions and send updates/photos for peace of mind. I have a flexible schedule as I run a side business, so I can usually work walks and care around what suits you and your dog best. I mainly offer dog walking, but I’m also open to discussing dog sitting or house sitting, either at my place or yours, depending on your dog’s routine and comfort. I’m happy to keep to their usual routine as much as possible, including walk times, feeding, play, rest, and any instructions you provide. I also have plenty of parks nearby for relaxed walks, with the city close by for dogs who are already comfortable in a busier environment. I’m caring, patient, and very attentive with dogs. I spent a lot of time helping care for a husky, which taught me patience, lead control, training, and how to understand different dog personalities. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes, including bigger and energetic dogs, but I always adapt my approach depending on the dog. For energetic dogs, I’ll provide structure, exercise, and calm handling. For nervous dogs, I’ll take a slower and gentler approach so they feel safe. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully, keep dogs supervised, and send photo updates for peace of mind. If your dog enjoys socialising, I’d only consider safe play opportunities with your permission and if I feel the dogs are well suited.
“Thank you is not enough ! Amazing and loving person. Both Chanel and Nic were taking amazing care of my Phoebs for a whole week in our house. First time after we came back, Phoebe wasn't mad on us that we left her alone, so you can only imagine how much fun she had with them. She took great care of the dog and same time of our house. Thank you so much Chanel and see you hopefully soon, as we are already planning next holiday 🤣”

About: As an AuDHD person, like many other neurodivergent people, I connect with animals very easily and love to spend time around them. I was born into a house that already had a cat so I have been around animals of one kind or another since day dot. Over the years my family have had cats, hamsters, rabbits, and a dog. While living with friends I’ve helped take care of small reptiles too. Since having my own place I’ve had cats and rabbits. I currently have 2 cats who I love with all my heart. I take care of a friend’s dog, a 6-year-old cockapoo with the energy of a puppy called Cooper, semi-regularly & help an elderly woman down the road with her dog walks now she can’t go as far as she once could. Since I work from home and have no children, your pets will have all the company & attention they could ask for with me! I own my own small business, work from home and don’t have any children so I am available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This also means that I can continue to work from your home if necessary so your pet will have all the company they could wish for! While I’m taking care of your pet I am also taking care of your home. Your place will of course stay clean and tidy and I’m happy to get on top of anything you need doing while I’m there if you would like me to. Even if I am only stopping in rather than staying to take care of your pet, your home is their home too so it will be looked after just as well as they will be!
“It's the first time of using Rover. I must say that Darren was a very professional young man and he looked after my dogs and house like he was a family member. I will be using him again next time we are going away. The only thing I would change on the web site is the contract information for sitter and home owner is correct.”

About: I’m a Spanish that moved to uk some time ago. At home we always had a cat with us, or even two. I love to spend time with my cats and I miss them. Every time I can I travel back to Spain to see my cats at my mom house. Now, we’ve got only one cat, Kitty, yes very obvious name, she is a beautiful black cat with green eyes, she has been with us for over 10 years now, I’ve even got a tattoo of her. She is still a very playful cat and everytime I go to visit the family we spend all the time playing.
“Dan was amazing with Monte. Very kind and friendly at the meet and greet and Monte took an instant liking to him. I knew Monte would be in safe hands as Dan made sure he knew everything about Monte’s routine and I came back to a very happy dog and I need to give Dan extra praise for accommodating my later than last minute request to change plans due to a train nightmare which made me late coming back. Will definitely ask Dan again to look after Monte.”

About: I have lived animals my whole life. I have a dog who I trained and who I love very much. He's a very good boy. I look after pets for friends, whether that be popping in, going for walks or staying over. I love the different personalities they have and the joy they bring to our lives. I've been with pets after vet stays and have developed bonding tactics to ensure they feel safe and loved. I currently work from home and usually have lunchtime available for walks. I am also willing to stay overnight with animals when the rest of the family is away as long as there is WiFi available. I'm happy to talk this through to suit your needs 😊 When caring for pets in your home I will adhere to the rules and requirements you set. I am happy to stay indoors or take pets out for walks, stick to any schedule needed for your pet 😊
About: Whenever I go home I make sure to stock up on cuddles with all my family pets to see me through to next time. I have always loved all animals and will care for them to the absolute best of my ability and I am really excited to meet yours!☺️ I’m currently studying a full-time masters in speech therapy so I have Wednesdays off during the week and then weekends free. I can do any evenings or weekends if it’s arranged in advance! I am respectful of other’s spaces and you can trust your pet is in safe hands with me☺️ I’m not allowed pets in my building but I am happy to come to your house to look after your pet or take them out for walks on my lunch breaks, after uni or my days off.

“I can’t recommend Roslyn highly enough! From the moment we met, she was friendly, professional, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. She took amazing care of my dogs and cat and kept me updated with messages and photos throughout, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. When I returned, all of my pets were happy, relaxed, and clearly very well looked after. It’s obvious that she goes above and beyond to make sure every animal feels comfortable, loved, and cared for. Knowing they were in such safe and caring hands made all the difference. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely caring pet sitter. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of my dogs and cat!”

Sarah & Stuart took awesome care our both our house, but more importantly, our two dogs whilst we had a much needed rest on holiday. Before sitting for us they met us twice - once for an initial meep and greet with the dogs (Oct 25) and then at the start of May 26. In May 26 they met us and we went for a pack walk with us an the dogs - within 20 feet of the house, they had the dog leads in hands and were more than capable of handing out 'sassy' Star our our somewhat vocal Astro. During our time away they kept us updates with regular photos and messages - so we always felt like we were being kept informed and updated. Came back from holiday yesterday (Sat) and both dogs look to have been so well looked after (and I suspect walked to within an inch of their limits - and that is saying some!) Highly recommend both Sarah & Start - be more than happy to have them take care of the dogs again when we go away (which reminds me, as soon as I'm done on this feedback...). Thanks again, lovely people, obvious dog lovers and a house well cared for. Not sure what other positive feedback to give. If in doubts - don't be - they are lovely! Josh, Marc, Star & Astro x

Chloe was amazing with my puppy. She sent me lots of photo and video updates and was super contactable throughout. I felt really comfortable leaving Elvis with Chloe and he was super happy and sleepy from all the playing and cuddles! Would definitely recommend ❤️

Caroline was wonderful! As soon as she came to meet Clover she loved her & was happy to play and cuddle with her. She sent lots of lovely photos of Clover and seemed like they had a fab time. The house was also super tidy when we came back. Thank you so much! We would definitely have Caroline look after Clover again.

Another fantastic booking with Phil, always leaves the house spotless and I have no worries at all leaving Rory with him. Phil takes the time to get to know your dog and routines and I know Rory will always be well looked after. Keeps you updated on how they are getting on and really puts your mind at ease!

Larissa is absolutely wonderful. So many good things to say about her-the most important thing is that she loves animals and went well above and beyond in caring for my high maintenance rescues- the result is that my dogs absolutely adored her and cuddled up to her immediately. One of my dogs needs ointment in her eye multiple times daily and Larissa handled it like a pro. I’m nervous leaving them due to their issues and she sent updates on progress, adorable photos, and was amazingly communicative. Being rescues (as well as stubborn French Bulldogs) they can pull on the lead - I shared my concerns and Larissa took my concerns seriously and was attentive and intentional about it and she kept them in check and safe from their own idiocy so that I didn’t worry about them while we were away. Larissa was so respectful of our home- my kitchen was definitely cleaner when she left than when she arrived. I cannot recommend Larissa highly enough. I’m so grateful she’s in my neighbourhood and I will definitely be asking her to take care of our gremlins again.

Rosa has been a fantastic dog sitter! She took time to play and stay with our Labrador, and carefully followed what our dog needed in terms of medication and toilet breaks. Updates were provided daily. It was a huge weight off knowing that our dog was in capable hands. Thank you Rosa! I will definitely be booking again, and I know Stitch will be so excited to see you next time

Lola and Luna stayed with Hannah for a weekend and they absolutely loved it. Lola is usually quite nervous and timid with new people/places but she was so settled because of how great Hannah was with her. Hannah kept us updated with pictures and they were having so much fun: lots of cuddles! We will definitely be using Hannah again in the future.

Daisy was so great at looking after my kitten, he is super fussy and doesn’t often cuddle anybody apart from me and my partner and he absolutely loved her. He was even cuddling her on the sofa ! Knowing he was super happy with her from the updates and pictures she sent, it ensured I could then relax and enjoy my weekend away! I would 100% recommend and will be booking her again! ☺️ It feels so good to have found a great cat sitter!

I found Emma to sit with our dog for an evening and it worked perfectly. Emma is so lovely and made time to pop round a few weeks before to meet us and we chatted through everything. I felt so comfortable having Emma in our home and she sent us updates and photos which was much appreciated. I’m really grateful to have found Emma and I will definitely be booking again soon. Thank you!

I’m Flori and I had a great time with Francesca while my mummy was away! She took me to my favourite cafe and on lots of walks so i was extra sleepy while i waited for mummy to get home! She fed me on time and gave me my medication easily! Plus she sent my mum lots of cool pictures to stay updated. Your furry friends would love to have her look after them too!

Erin was absolutely amazing with our very anxious Jax! Jax is very nervous around new people, but with two meet and greets and lots of patience on the first day of our holiday Jax soon became Erin’s friend. Thank you very much for taking good care of him and providing updates whilst we were away.

Thank you so much for looking after our little Gus!! We really appreciated the regular updates and pictures, and you made us feel very comfortable leaving our 8 week old pup with someone new. Highly recommended and will deffo be getting back in touch for next time :)

Olivia was lovely to work with! She took the time to meet us beforehand and get to know the dogs, which was great as our pups were then super happy when she came and looked after them for us! It was lovely getting photo updates of all the cuddles the pups were getting with Olivia and we wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again ☺️

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Salford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Salford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
