“Chloe looked after my 2 dogs for the first time, sent me lots of photos and videos of them playing and having loads of cuddles. Very happy and will definitely book with again. Thank you Chloe”

About: Over the years me and my family have had a variety of pets, these including primarily dogs and cats - many years ago we also had tortoise and birds. Since moving to Salford I have been away from my cat who is our most recent pet back at our family home (currently being taken care of by my family) and I miss him greatly. I’d love to continue to show the love and care I have provided for him for other pets too! I am experienced in taking dogs on walks, feeding dogs and cats regularly and ensuring that cats’ litter trays stay fresh. Although I have only pet sitted for other family members before, I look forward to venturing out and discovering what it is like to pet sit for new people too. As a great animal lover I look forward to play and comfort pets again, and most importantly, to support and take care of them throughout the day! 🐾💕 Currently in between jobs, therefore my schedule is flexible. I can pet sit during the week and on weekends as well, from mornings until evenings. If pet owners have to travel away I can also stay overnight. Since my childhood I have been greatly experienced in taking care of many different pets, primarily dogs and cats. Growing up I consistently took care of our cats and dogs and ensured that they are always happy and supported. I would make sure that they are regularly fed (based on healthy dietary requirements provided by vets), regularly walked and have provided company to them throughout the day, with extra attention paid to play times to keep pets motivated and active. However, I do understand that every pet is different based on their age, breed and personality, therefore I have adapted my ways of supporting them based on each pet. For example, my current cat appreciates more space and alone time which I allow plenty for him, and my dogs from my past required more walks, play time and greater quantity of food to keep them going. I am great at understanding the different personalities and requirements of each pet therefore I am always ready to adapt my support for each of them!
“It's the first time of using Rover. I must say that Darren was a very professional young man and he looked after my dogs and house like he was a family member. I will be using him again next time we are going away. The only thing I would change on the web site is the contract information for sitter and home owner is correct.”

“Jamie was fantastic looking after our kittens while we were away! It was the longest we'd left them, so I was quite nervous, but her regular updates and photos really put my mind at ease. The kittens looked so happy and content, it was clear they loved her😊”

About: I’ve been pet sitting my entire adult life. I’ve taken care of puppies to senior dogs and highly anxious cats for friends and family. Nothing is more rewarding to me than gaining the full trust of a pet and feeling the honour of being their chosen safe space. Experience in house sitting, as well as walking dogs or even just popping in for a play. I’m currently working part time on a contract of 17 hours a week so can do pet care on my days off or before or after a shift. I pick up overtime shifts occasionally but can work these around pet care hours if needed. My contracted working hours I am unavailable for are Weds 2-7, Thursday 6-10pm, Friday 6-10pm and Sunday 8-12pm, but every other time of the week I can usually do. I won’t be able to care for pets in my own home sadly as I have cats that won’t take too kindly to house guests. However, I am more than happy to pet sit in your home and will treat both your pet and home like they are my own. If you are going away for a while I would give you daily updates on your beloved pets.
About: Hi! I’ve been watching and caring for elderly and young dogs since high school. I am a huge pet lover and love to care for animals. I have cared for elderly dogs, injured dogs, cats, and puppies! I am a full time law student. I’m only in class two days a week so I am available to walk and care for pets. I’m an early riser and enjoy walks. I live in a flat with my partner who is also a Rover sitter. I live on a city-like street which is moderately quiet. I currently have no pets so I can accommodate your pet.

“Alix came round to my house to look after Maggie. Maggie is great with people but needs building up slowly with new situations and Alix was very patient with her. I would definitely use Alix again. Shes very sensible and I felt really safe leaving her with my fur child.”

About: Hi there, I'm Holly! I've always loved being around animals, with my own little purrball, Eugene, being my pride and joy. Because I'm a pet owner myself, I know firsthand how important it is to know your pet is safe, happy and well cared for while you're away or busy. Whether it's sticking to their usual routine, going for walks, playing their favourite games or simply giving them plenty of attention and affection, I'll make sure they feel comfortable, loved and right at home. My experience with animals began around six years ago when I cared for a family member's cat, Dexter, while they were unable to look after him. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and sparked a real passion for caring for animals. Dexter quickly became the centre of my world, and I was responsible for keeping on top of his medication and making sure all of his needs were met. When it was time for Dexter to go home, I realised just how much animals bring to a home, so I welcomed Eugene into my life. Since then, I've continued to care for a variety of animals, including dogs, rabbits and, of course, plenty more cats. One of my most memorable experiences was caring for a pregnant cat throughout her entire pregnancy and helping to look after her four beautiful kittens until they found loving homes in pairs with people I knew. I also still regularly look after Dexter, so he's remained a special part of my life. These experiences have taught me that every animal has their own personality, routine and needs. I'm confident caring for pets with different temperaments and understand the importance of patience, consistency and making them feel secure. I'm reliable, kind and will always treat your pet as if they were my own, because I know just how much they mean to their family. I'll happily send regular updates and photos, so you can relax knowing they're in safe hands. Every pet is different, and I'm always happy to follow your instructions to make sure they receive the care they're used to and deserve. I can't wait to meet you and your furry family members! 🐾 Pet care is already a big part of my everyday life thanks to my own cat, Eugene, and I genuinely enjoy making time for animals. Alongside my full-time job, I'm available for drop-in visits, dog walks and daytime house sitting, with plenty of flexibility before and after work, during evenings and at weekends. I'm organised and reliable, so I always make sure pets receive the attention, exercise and care they need. Whether it's a lunchtime walk, keeping a cat company while you're away or spending time with your pet in their own familiar environment, I'm happy to work around their usual routine to help them feel comfortable and settled. When caring for pets in a pet owner's home, I always prioritise safety, routine and making sure the pet feels as comfortable as possible in their familiar environment. I follow any instructions provided closely, including feeding schedules, medication, walking routines and any house rules, to ensure consistency for the pet. I take time to understand each pet’s individual needs and personality so I can care for them in a way that keeps them calm, happy and secure. For dog walks, I always ensure pets are safely secured before and during walks, and I choose appropriate routes based on their energy levels and any guidance from the owner. I avoid unsafe situations and always keep dogs on lead unless I have been specifically instructed otherwise and it is safe to do so. When visiting a home, I treat it with respect and care, making sure everything is left clean, secure and as I found it. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel reassured that their pet is safe and well looked after while they are away.
About: I have lived animals my whole life. I have a dog who I trained and who I love very much. He's a very good boy. I look after pets for friends, whether that be popping in, going for walks or staying over. I love the different personalities they have and the joy they bring to our lives. I've been with pets after vet stays and have developed bonding tactics to ensure they feel safe and loved. I currently work from home and usually have lunchtime available for walks. I am also willing to stay overnight with animals when the rest of the family is away as long as there is WiFi available. I'm happy to talk this through to suit your needs 😊 When caring for pets in your home I will adhere to the rules and requirements you set. I am happy to stay indoors or take pets out for walks, stick to any schedule needed for your pet 😊
“Wonderful! Chanel is just absolutely brilliant! She is caring and professional and put us at ease with her updates. Thank you so so much for being a wonderful person! Definitely recommend and will be booking again x ❤️”

“This is the second time we’ve had Sendy look after our two dogs! She is absolutely fantastic! She keeps us updated with pictures, and both dogs absolutely adore her! She always leaves the house lovely and tidy! Huck and Penny can’t wait to see her again in October!! X”

About: Always been around with dogs and have taken care of different breeds. Have experience giving oral medication and lots of baths! Enjoy going on walks and always keeping them happy, playful and clean to end their days in a good mood. Moved from the Dominican Republic to purse my dream of becoming a psychologist, just finished college and I’m currently working part time as a Community Support Worker so I’m able to offer lots of flexibility and follow my clients needs and wants. Unfortunately, I had to leave my furry friend back home and taking care of yours will fulfill that lost while keeping them joyful and safe! I used to have a cat while living in my home country for +3 and I’ve always been surrounded by dogs throughout my life. I’m an animal person who loves keeping them playful, clean and safe at all times. I will update you whenever you need reassurance that your furry friend is safe and well fed.
“Dan was amazing with Monte. Very kind and friendly at the meet and greet and Monte took an instant liking to him. I knew Monte would be in safe hands as Dan made sure he knew everything about Monte’s routine and I came back to a very happy dog and I need to give Dan extra praise for accommodating my later than last minute request to change plans due to a train nightmare which made me late coming back. Will definitely ask Dan again to look after Monte.”

About: I have had dogs my whole life, from when I was born until now (aged 29) and would class myself as a firm dog lover! Dogs naturally pick up energy and I am always making new dog friends. Ever since I moved from my family home 4 years ago, I miss smudge everyday. Dog sitting gives me the feeling that I am home again and able to cuddle, play, feed, walk and chill with a furry companion. Sitting practicality: Me and my partner (who is also a dog lover), live in Salford right near Peel Park - a perfect dog walking spot for your loved baby. We can cater to any specific dog diets or ability needs and have experience with family dogs, friends, neighbours and online enquiries of dog sitting for various dogs from Shih tzu puppies, poodles, French bulldogs to Labradors and more. Our flat is a safe, warm and clean environment for your beloved pet. We will ensure any brief is met and we are happy to meet for a chat prior to agreement of sitting your dog if required. As I am freelance and my work is mainly remote, I offer a flexible schedule to my own timings - meaning whenever your doggy would need a walk, feed, play, or more I can work around to make this happen. The weekends are mostly free and there is both myself & my partner available so two dog sitters and schedules for the price of 1! Living in a dog friendly building in Manchester provides benefits as there is always dogs out on the green if your dog is friendly. If your doggy is more antisocial we can take them on a more secluded walking area or green. We have ensured safety measures, there is no balcony in our apartment so no risks there. We are stocked with dog treats, puppy pads, water / food bowls, toys and more to ensure your baby has the best say! We have even asked the owners to send voicenotes before so that we can play them if your dog does feel uncomfortable at any time.
The median cost per night for house sitting in Salford is £30

I can’t recommend Roslyn highly enough! From the moment we met, she was friendly, professional, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. She took amazing care of my dogs and cat and kept me updated with messages and photos throughout, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. When I returned, all of my pets were happy, relaxed, and clearly very well looked after. It’s obvious that she goes above and beyond to make sure every animal feels comfortable, loved, and cared for. Knowing they were in such safe and caring hands made all the difference. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely caring pet sitter. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of my dogs and cat!

Sarah & Stuart took awesome care our both our house, but more importantly, our two dogs whilst we had a much needed rest on holiday. Before sitting for us they met us twice - once for an initial meep and greet with the dogs (Oct 25) and then at the start of May 26. In May 26 they met us and we went for a pack walk with us an the dogs - within 20 feet of the house, they had the dog leads in hands and were more than capable of handing out 'sassy' Star our our somewhat vocal Astro. During our time away they kept us updates with regular photos and messages - so we always felt like we were being kept informed and updated. Came back from holiday yesterday (Sat) and both dogs look to have been so well looked after (and I suspect walked to within an inch of their limits - and that is saying some!) Highly recommend both Sarah & Start - be more than happy to have them take care of the dogs again when we go away (which reminds me, as soon as I'm done on this feedback...). Thanks again, lovely people, obvious dog lovers and a house well cared for. Not sure what other positive feedback to give. If in doubts - don't be - they are lovely! Josh, Marc, Star & Astro x

Chloe was amazing with my puppy. She sent me lots of photo and video updates and was super contactable throughout. I felt really comfortable leaving Elvis with Chloe and he was super happy and sleepy from all the playing and cuddles! Would definitely recommend ❤️

Caroline was wonderful! As soon as she came to meet Clover she loved her & was happy to play and cuddle with her. She sent lots of lovely photos of Clover and seemed like they had a fab time. The house was also super tidy when we came back. Thank you so much! We would definitely have Caroline look after Clover again.

Another fantastic booking with Phil, always leaves the house spotless and I have no worries at all leaving Rory with him. Phil takes the time to get to know your dog and routines and I know Rory will always be well looked after. Keeps you updated on how they are getting on and really puts your mind at ease!

Larissa is absolutely wonderful. So many good things to say about her-the most important thing is that she loves animals and went well above and beyond in caring for my high maintenance rescues- the result is that my dogs absolutely adored her and cuddled up to her immediately. One of my dogs needs ointment in her eye multiple times daily and Larissa handled it like a pro. I’m nervous leaving them due to their issues and she sent updates on progress, adorable photos, and was amazingly communicative. Being rescues (as well as stubborn French Bulldogs) they can pull on the lead - I shared my concerns and Larissa took my concerns seriously and was attentive and intentional about it and she kept them in check and safe from their own idiocy so that I didn’t worry about them while we were away. Larissa was so respectful of our home- my kitchen was definitely cleaner when she left than when she arrived. I cannot recommend Larissa highly enough. I’m so grateful she’s in my neighbourhood and I will definitely be asking her to take care of our gremlins again.

Rosa has been a fantastic dog sitter! She took time to play and stay with our Labrador, and carefully followed what our dog needed in terms of medication and toilet breaks. Updates were provided daily. It was a huge weight off knowing that our dog was in capable hands. Thank you Rosa! I will definitely be booking again, and I know Stitch will be so excited to see you next time

Lola and Luna stayed with Hannah for a weekend and they absolutely loved it. Lola is usually quite nervous and timid with new people/places but she was so settled because of how great Hannah was with her. Hannah kept us updated with pictures and they were having so much fun: lots of cuddles! We will definitely be using Hannah again in the future.

Daisy was so great at looking after my kitten, he is super fussy and doesn’t often cuddle anybody apart from me and my partner and he absolutely loved her. He was even cuddling her on the sofa ! Knowing he was super happy with her from the updates and pictures she sent, it ensured I could then relax and enjoy my weekend away! I would 100% recommend and will be booking her again! ☺️ It feels so good to have found a great cat sitter!

I found Emma to sit with our dog for an evening and it worked perfectly. Emma is so lovely and made time to pop round a few weeks before to meet us and we chatted through everything. I felt so comfortable having Emma in our home and she sent us updates and photos which was much appreciated. I’m really grateful to have found Emma and I will definitely be booking again soon. Thank you!

I’m Flori and I had a great time with Francesca while my mummy was away! She took me to my favourite cafe and on lots of walks so i was extra sleepy while i waited for mummy to get home! She fed me on time and gave me my medication easily! Plus she sent my mum lots of cool pictures to stay updated. Your furry friends would love to have her look after them too!

Erin was absolutely amazing with our very anxious Jax! Jax is very nervous around new people, but with two meet and greets and lots of patience on the first day of our holiday Jax soon became Erin’s friend. Thank you very much for taking good care of him and providing updates whilst we were away.

Thank you so much for looking after our little Gus!! We really appreciated the regular updates and pictures, and you made us feel very comfortable leaving our 8 week old pup with someone new. Highly recommended and will deffo be getting back in touch for next time :)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Salford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Salford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
