“Margret was brilliant with Ruby our labradoodle. She came on time and was super friendly. Ruby, who can be a bit hesitant with new people, liked her straight away. Whilst we were away she sent us many updates to give us piece of mind. She took Ruby for walks and played with her. We found her relaxed and happy when we came back. We will definetly contact Margret again in the future and we fully recommend her to others.”

About: I’ve taken care of friends and family pets since I was young, looking after a range of animals from horses to hamsters! I have grown up with cats and dogs in the house and for the last 4 years have been the owner of 5 guinea pigs, one who was an RSPCA rescue. Along with our cockapoo Bart who we have had since an 8 week old puppy, who I trained and is now a very well behaved boy! I currently work within the NHS in an admin role 3 days a week. This is local to home and my days and hours are flexible so I can be on hand for pet sitting services/drop in care when required. I will follow your needs and requirements to ensure you and your pet are comfortable and at ease and kept to their usual routine. I am an honest and trustworthy person who has only your pets best interests at heart.
About: We are experienced dog sitters with plenty of love to give! We both work remotely from home so we can offer your dog our full attention and spoil them silly! We have a mixed Bichon at home with us (DouDou) who is very calm and docile. We have experience dog sitting for and owning various breeds our entire lives. Rai is home based, studying online and working occasional evenings. Carly is in the office Tues-Thursday and available every evening, so one or both of us will always be around to keep your pet company as needed! We love hiking and running as much as a chill day at home on the couch so can offer your dog the best of both worlds! We have a fenced garden with grass for toilets breaks and lots of games, as well as a park just 5 minutes away for a chance to enjoy the outside. We’re a pets-on-furniture household but can accommodate if you’re training them not to.

“Izzie was a great dogsitter (even with the complications of heatwaves!) Maple really enjoyed going to her house and following her around everywhere! Izzie sent us pictures and updates which was great for my dog mum anxiety.”

“Excellent sitter for our two dogs. Nathan is polite, professional and a very good communicator Nathan has dog sat out two dogs this week Both my dogs are very happy with Nathan and we’re happy leaving Nathan with our dogs . We will definitely be asking Nathan to dog sit again soon👍”

“Kate stayed in our place for a week to look after our cat Peggy and was amazing from start to finish! She helped us out super last minute when we had another sitter cancel. Excellent communication throughout, kept us updated and sent pictures, so we knew Peggy was being well looked after especially throughout the 30+ heatwave and getting all the cuddles! Kate left our place tidy and even changed the bed for us. Thank you so much Kate, we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a cat sitter! Peggy misses you! 😻”

“Anna was great. quick responses. Accomodating with the meet and greet changing to a day more suitable to us. Frequent updates while we were away with pictures and videos. Tidied up after herself. Listened to all requests made by us about caring for our dog. And most importantly was a lovely person and our dog seemed perfectly happy. Wouldn't want anyone else to dog sit in future we will 100% be rebooking with her.”

About: For several years, I have regularly looked after and walked many of my friends’ dogs while their families are away on holiday, as well as helping with occasional daily walks. I have cared for a wide range of different breeds, and I find their company incredibly therapeutic and relaxing! Spending time with the dogs brings me a huge sense of joy and fulfilment, and it is something I really look forward to doing. I currently work full time in Sale and/or Altrincham with my days off generally being Thursdays and Sundays. I am happy to take care of your dog during these days and evenings on working days I live in a flat with one housemate who is also very comfortable around the company of dogs. Though I don’t have a garden I am located close to worthington park and sale water park
“Very happy with Gareth. He seems to have managed our two big dogs well during a week’s dog and house sitting, he sent regular updates and photos. His communication was always prompt and he inspired confidence on the meet and greet before the booking. House was left near and tidy. Would use again without hesitation.”

“Molly was so lovely with Tallulah who settled with her straight away. Got lots of pics and Molly was brilliant at communicating from start to finish. Very highly recommend as a kind and caring dog or house sitter.”

“I would recommend Adam to anyone looking for a sitter for their dog. He absolutely made our time away a stress free experience as we knew Stamford was well looked after. Really helped us relax and enjoy our holiday He gave daily updates with pictures, such a lovely touch. And always super responsive to any messages or requests. He genuinely cares about your animals and treats them as if they are his own. Again I can’t recommend his services enough, you won’t regret it. We definitely will be using him again.”

“Could not be happier with the care that Jess provided for Mabel whilst we were away. We received pictures and updates whilst we were away and the house was kept tidy throughout her stay. She had also put a wash on when we arrived back. Would not hesitate to book her house sitting services again, which we will hopefully do next April. Full recommended. 5 star award.”

About: Hi I’m Ellie - I’ve been looking after pets for friends, neighbours and colleagues since I was around 11 and in the last few years since working from home have been able to take advantage of this and offer more regular care. I’ve had small pets all my life but have never owned a dog or cat (despite loving them I know you have to have the right situation for a long-term pet). Because of this I have been taking any opportunity to dog/cat sit available. Care responsibilities have included anything from walking and feeding to daily check ins and enrichment, as well as pet sitting for longer term in situ or at my place. This has included anything from short weekend stays up to 5 weeks. Currently I am on a sabbatical from work until August 2nd and so have lots of availability and time during the day. This means your pets will get lots of attention and long walks where needed! Usually I work full time (4 days) but this is a computer based job which I do from home 3/4 days and have the flexibility to change this to be working full time from home when required for pet sitting/walks etc. I am able to work flexibly during the day as well meaning I can fit time in for longer walks (1.5hr+) during the day as well with no trouble. I pride myself on being flexible to suit pets needs and routines meaning I can increase/reduce activity levels based on age/preference/routines of whatever pet I’m caring for. I like to fit caring for pets into my life, they’re not a disruption but the best addition. For example I sometimes volunteer in the Peak District and have taken dogs on some lovely walks there as part of this. I live in a bright ground floor flat which is fully secure with a secondary door for security as well. Pets are allowed on furniture (but this can be prevented if this is part of your home routine) and pets have full roam to explore the house. I live about 5 minutes walk from many amazing Chorlton green spaces including Chorlton and Sale Water Parks which are great locations for dog walks!
About: Hi, we are Mia and Megan! After growing up with pets in our home, moving into our own property has given us the opportunity to extend our love for animals. We have cared for an elderly staffy who loved snuggles on the sofa to a lively cockapoo who always wanted to play and particularly enjoyed running around the park opposite our home. We are currently working part time so have plenty of time to play and run around with your pups. We are also available on weekends. We have a two bedroom home in Timperley with a spacious fenced garden and park with a larger field opposite. Pets would be consistently well cared for in a loving and safe environment.

About: I provide trustworthy, high-quality pet and house sitting with a calming presence. As a qualified Reiki Practitioner, with additional studies in animal reiki and somatics, I help pets feel safe, relaxed, and deeply cared for while you’re away. I’ve spent years supporting friends' animals, in their own environment. By providing weekend cover, I can ensure 100% of my time is dedicated to your pet and home. I provide gentle energy work to help reduce stress, ease anxiety, and support deep relaxation. Your pet’s comfort is my priority along with peace of mind for yourself
About: I have personal experience looking after cats and dogs, ranging from young cats aged 6 months+ and older strays. I have helped with stressful situations such as distracting my friends pets when they seem distressed, taking their dogs on daily walks and handling their food and water. Additionally, I have experience minding animals who have separation anxiety and guard dogs, therefore I have common understanding on how to approach protective animals. I have currently finished my second year at college, therefore I am free for work and can work multiple shifts a week, whenever I am required. I am highly passionate towards animals and therefore will be consistent with the care I provide, meaning that I can care for pets who may need extra attention.
About: I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life, starting with Maggie, our springer spaniel. I now have two Dobermans, Kona and Pablo. We’ve had Kona since she was a puppy, and Pablo is a rescue with reactivity challenges, so I’m very experienced with dogs who need extra patience, structure, and understanding. I’ve also regularly cared for a family French bulldog, Gigi, and I’m comfortable with a wide range of breeds, personalities, and special requirements. Most dogs tend to warm up to me quickly, and I genuinely love spending time with them. I’m calm, attentive, and used to adapting my care to meet each dog’s unique needs—whether that means extra reassurance, clear boundaries, or lots of play and affection. I work full time but remotely three days a week. Generally super flexible with my time on those days and regularly available at weekends too as my partner works full time over the weekend. I can meet whatever needs you have to keep your dog safe. Whether that’s crating them post visit, using specific walking equipment or whatever it might be! I would be caring for your pet solo.

Anna was incredible with our Belgian Mali, Spaniel and cat. Our Mali is flighty and Anna handled him so easily with lots of care. We were so grateful to be able to go away knowing the pets were all so well looked after and our home was left spotless. We received gorgeous pics. I would 100% recommend Anna.

Abigail provided excellent care for our two labradors. She loved cuddling and playing with our attention seeking dogs. Great communication throughout her stay and 100% trustworthy. She has a clear passion and love of dogs and has experience with larger breeds. Would 100% recommend her services and we will use again.

This was the first time we left our chihuahuas to go on holiday. We rescued them 9 months previous and have been anxious about leaving them. But we had nothing to worry about as Danni was just fabulous. They loved their time with her. I was sent regular updates which really helped me manage my separation anxiety! Videos of waggy tails and happy girlies. Danni left our home spotless. She was the perfect dog sitter to trust to look after our precious babies. We will be booking her again for a few months time as we now feel comfortable to accept a wedding invite for overseas in a few months time.

Could not be happier with the care that Jess provided for Mabel whilst we were away. We received pictures and updates whilst we were away and the house was kept tidy throughout her stay. She had also put a wash on when we arrived back. Would not hesitate to book her house sitting services again, which we will hopefully do next April. Full recommended. 5 star award.

Melissa and Steve, what is there to say other than please do not hesitate to book in with them. Oakley stayed with them for a week whilst we went away and he had the best time, he has been so well looked after and spoilt. Melissa and Steve will care for any pet in their care as though they are their own, are more than happy for messages checking in and sent plentiful updates and pictures the entire time. It feels so reassuring to have found two great sitters. Melissa and Steve thank you so much ❤️

Heather kept us updated with regular photos and communication through the whole time of our housesitting. She was superb with our very anxious Staffy Bailey. We will certainly hope to use Heather again in the future, and highly recommend her for looking after your fur babies.

Saras was great to deal with and asked lots of good questions regarding our dog (Ally) and kept us fully informed throughout the day. This was the first time Ally had been left with anyone and very happy with how Saras both worked with Ally to make her comfortable and looked after her.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Trafford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Trafford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
