About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my lifelong experience caring for dogs. Since I was young, I’ve been looking after dogs for neighbors and family members, so I’ve developed a natural ability to bond with them quickly. I can easily earn their trust and engage them in playful activities, making them feel comfortable and happy while in my care. I work part-time, only three days a week, which gives me a very flexible schedule for pet care. This allows me to dedicate plenty of time to walking, playing, feeding, and giving pets the attention they need. Whether it’s daily check-ins, extended stays, or last-minute requests, I can easily adjust my routine to accommodate the needs of both pets and their owners. I only offer pet sitting in my home, as I prioritize my personal safety and feel more comfortable caring for pets in a familiar environment. My home provides a spacious and secure area where pets can move around freely, play, and feel at ease. I ensure a clean, comfortable, and pet-friendly space, giving them plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while their owners are away.

“Laylee is absolutely amazing with my 11 week old puppy Flo. She loves her and feels safe and secure with her around. She has helped me greatly with her continued crate and potty training whilst I started my first week back at work. Keeping an eye on the ques for needing to go outside and when she needs a nap. Very trustworthy and we will definitely be seeing her again!! Thanks Laylee !! Ure a life and sanity saver!!”

“Izzie was a great dogsitter (even with the complications of heatwaves!) Maple really enjoyed going to her house and following her around everywhere! Izzie sent us pictures and updates which was great for my dog mum anxiety.”

“Margret was fantastic with our dog and was very knowledgable of her needs, playing lots of enrichment games with her. Margret also took great care of our house. I would highly recommend her services!”

“I would recommend Adam to anyone looking for a sitter for their dog. He absolutely made our time away a stress free experience as we knew Stamford was well looked after. Really helped us relax and enjoy our holiday He gave daily updates with pictures, such a lovely touch. And always super responsive to any messages or requests. He genuinely cares about your animals and treats them as if they are his own. Again I can’t recommend his services enough, you won’t regret it. We definitely will be using him again.”

About: Having lost my own dog in December 2025, and not being ready to replace her, I have returned to housesitting as a way to enjoy the company of pets. Eddie (my dog) and I spent several years housesitting around Europe. In that time we looked after dogs and cats (and even a donkey!) in varying quantities and sizes. I can provide your pet with both its usual routine and some added enrichment to ease any separation anxiety. I am used to giving medication and have a good knowledge of animal health to be able to spot any problems early and get the veterinary care needed. I am a non-smoker, clean and tidy and very respectful of other people's homes. I have my own car and can travel throughout the UK (and overseas) - not just the 60 mile limit that the site puts on my profile! I work for myself on a part time basis from my laptop so will spend a good amount of time around the house to ensure everything and everyone is taken care of. Housesitting started out as a way for me to travel and explore Europe to find a new place to live - but I have fallen in love with the lifestyle and find it incredibly rewarding - both to see happy pets, and delighted owners when they return. I'm new to Rover, but I have several 5* reviews and repeat clients that can vouch for my trustworthiness and the standard of care your beloved pets will receive. I am happy to adapt my daily routine to suit your pet's needs. As long as I can enjoy my morning coffee, then I can be flexible on the rest! I prefer to arrive at least 24 hours before you travel so that I have the opportunity to go through your pet's daily routine, share a walk with you and get to know how everything in your house works.
“Very happy with Gareth. He seems to have managed our two big dogs well during a week’s dog and house sitting, he sent regular updates and photos. His communication was always prompt and he inspired confidence on the meet and greet before the booking. House was left near and tidy. Would use again without hesitation.”

About: I have personally always had animals nearby and looked after many! I had a Newfoundland growing up and I cared for him for years so I know how to deal with big dogs. I currently often dog sit at a family friends house looking after their 8 year old rescue and I'm aware of how rescues can behave. I live with my partner who also does rover and has a 5 star review, and she has cared for many dogs over the years so we have a wealth of experience between us. Currently I work hybrid so I do go into the office 1/2 days a week but it’s quite flexible and my partner works from home full time so have all the time to look after any animals that need it! I don't have meetings continually so I can easily get out and go for a walk with any pooch at any time during the day. I have a walled back garden, which can be an easy space for a pup to go have a little wander. We also live very close to a park with open fields and space for a dog to go for a longer walk if needed. Also we have a friend close by who works at a vet if there are any worries.
About: I’ve taken care of friends and family pets since I was young, looking after a range of animals from horses to hamsters! I have grown up with cats and dogs in the house and for the last 4 years have been the owner of 5 guinea pigs, one who was an RSPCA rescue. Along with our cockapoo Bart who we have had since an 8 week old puppy, who I trained and is now a very well behaved boy! I currently work within the NHS in an admin role 3 days a week. This is local to home and my days and hours are flexible so I can be on hand for pet sitting services/drop in care when required. I will follow your needs and requirements to ensure you and your pet are comfortable and at ease and kept to their usual routine. I am an honest and trustworthy person who has only your pets best interests at heart.
About: We are experienced dog sitters with plenty of love to give! We both work remotely from home so we can offer your dog our full attention and spoil them silly! We have a mixed Bichon at home with us (DouDou) who is very calm and docile. We have experience dog sitting for and owning various breeds our entire lives. Rai is home based, studying online and working occasional evenings. Carly is in the office Tues-Thursday and available every evening, so one or both of us will always be around to keep your pet company as needed! We love hiking and running as much as a chill day at home on the couch so can offer your dog the best of both worlds! We have a fenced garden with grass for toilets breaks and lots of games, as well as a park just 5 minutes away for a chance to enjoy the outside. We’re a pets-on-furniture household but can accommodate if you’re training them not to.

“Anna was great. quick responses. Accomodating with the meet and greet changing to a day more suitable to us. Frequent updates while we were away with pictures and videos. Tidied up after herself. Listened to all requests made by us about caring for our dog. And most importantly was a lovely person and our dog seemed perfectly happy. Wouldn't want anyone else to dog sit in future we will 100% be rebooking with her.”

About: I have looked after animals for the majority of my life, I am caring and good at following instructions. I’ve been taking care of my rescue dog Maja for 4 years now, as well as looking after my two cats. I have experience with nervous dogs, however have also done work experience at a Dog daycare before. So enjoy matching a dogs energy :) I am currently a student studying Equine Science and am looking for summer and weekend work. I am usually free weekends and am looking for summer work as well. My dog at home is crated at night, so that she can have her own space. She is let out into a fenced backyard during the day and is taken on two short walks and a longer walk daily. My cats mainly do their business outside however do have access to a litter tray if needed. My cats are outdoor cats however are in at night.
“Molly was so lovely with Tallulah who settled with her straight away. Got lots of pics and Molly was brilliant at communicating from start to finish. Very highly recommend as a kind and caring dog or house sitter.”

“Our first experience with Rover and Jess was fantastic. She came to meet us and Mabel a few months before the booking to check she would be a good fit. Whilst on holiday we had daily updates and pictures of Mabel to keep us updated and reassured. Jess asked about house rules and Mabel’s routine to ensure our training etc was maintained. Jess stripped the bed and put the towels in the wash and even bought us some toilet paper before leaving, we were so grateful. Thanks Jess, will definitely be using you again!”

About: Hi I’m Ellie - I’ve been looking after pets for friends, neighbours and colleagues since I was around 11 and in the last few years since working from home have been able to take advantage of this and offer more regular care. I’ve had small pets all my life but have never owned a dog or cat (despite loving them I know you have to have the right situation for a long-term pet). Because of this I have been taking any opportunity to dog/cat sit available. Care responsibilities have included anything from walking and feeding to daily check ins and enrichment, as well as pet sitting for longer term in situ or at my place. This has included anything from short weekend stays up to 5 weeks. Currently I am on a sabbatical from work until August 2nd and so have lots of availability and time during the day. This means your pets will get lots of attention and long walks where needed! Usually I work full time (4 days) but this is a computer based job which I do from home 3/4 days and have the flexibility to change this to be working full time from home when required for pet sitting/walks etc. I am able to work flexibly during the day as well meaning I can fit time in for longer walks (1.5hr+) during the day as well with no trouble. I pride myself on being flexible to suit pets needs and routines meaning I can increase/reduce activity levels based on age/preference/routines of whatever pet I’m caring for. I like to fit caring for pets into my life, they’re not a disruption but the best addition. For example I sometimes volunteer in the Peak District and have taken dogs on some lovely walks there as part of this. I live in a bright ground floor flat which is fully secure with a secondary door for security as well. Pets are allowed on furniture (but this can be prevented if this is part of your home routine) and pets have full roam to explore the house. I live about 5 minutes walk from many amazing Chorlton green spaces including Chorlton and Sale Water Parks which are great locations for dog walks!
About: I’ve grown up with both cats and dogs, so i’m comfortable caring for pets with different personalities and needs. I also regularly help family by looking after their dogs, including walking, feeding, and playing with them. I enjoy spending time with pets and getting to know them!! I am a student who loves football and family! This means I plan my time carefully and only accept bookings I can fully commit to. I’m currently on summer break, so I have more time to look after and get to know more pets!! When caring for a pet in their owner’s home or while on a walk, it is important to follow their routine and owner’s instructions to help their pet feel comfortable and safe, as I know each pet is different and requires specific attention. I am happy to provide updates and photos so owners can feel confident that their pet is in good hands. Lastly, I will make sure they get lots of attention and playing time!!

Outstanding service and communication, couldn't be happier. Michelle looked after my cat at very short notice when my mum was taken into hospital - it was so reassuring for her to take the reigns and sort everything out. She has since catsit again and understands that my cat is very shy and prefers to be left alone.
We had such a lovely experience with Mia and Megan looking after our two dogs for the weekend. It was our first time using them, and they both made us feel so comfortable leaving the dogs in their care. They kept us updated throughout the weekend with messages and lovely pictures, and it was clear how happy and well looked after the dogs were. They took them on lots of walks and gave them plenty of attention and care. We really appreciated how kind, caring and thoughtful they both were, and the regular updates gave us such peace of mind while we were away. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Mia and Megan again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring and trustworthy dog sitters! 🐾❤️
Laylee is absolutely amazing with my 11 week old puppy Flo. She loves her and feels safe and secure with her around. She has helped me greatly with her continued crate and potty training whilst I started my first week back at work. Keeping an eye on the ques for needing to go outside and when she needs a nap. Sarah house sat our rescue dog for a long weekend and she nothing but attentive, communicative and looked after our house so well. Our dog can be a bit wary and anxious around new people but when we’d received images of her cuddling up to Sarah within a matter of hours, we knew we’d hit gold! I’d have no hesitation in booking her again.

Anna was incredible with our Belgian Mali, Spaniel and cat. Our Mali is flighty and Anna handled him so easily with lots of care. We were so grateful to be able to go away knowing the pets were all so well looked after and our home was left spotless. We received gorgeous pics. I would 100% recommend Anna.

Abigail provided excellent care for our two labradors. She loved cuddling and playing with our attention seeking dogs. Great communication throughout her stay and 100% trustworthy. She has a clear passion and love of dogs and has experience with larger breeds. Would 100% recommend her services and we will use again.

This was the first time we left our chihuahuas to go on holiday. We rescued them 9 months previous and have been anxious about leaving them. But we had nothing to worry about as Danni was just fabulous. They loved their time with her. I was sent regular updates which really helped me manage my separation anxiety! Videos of waggy tails and happy girlies. Danni left our home spotless. She was the perfect dog sitter to trust to look after our precious babies. We will be booking her again for a few months time as we now feel comfortable to accept a wedding invite for overseas in a few months time.

Could not be happier with the care that Jess provided for Mabel whilst we were away. We received pictures and updates whilst we were away and the house was kept tidy throughout her stay. She had also put a wash on when we arrived back. Would not hesitate to book her house sitting services again, which we will hopefully do next April. Full recommended. 5 star award.

Melissa and Steve, what is there to say other than please do not hesitate to book in with them. Oakley stayed with them for a week whilst we went away and he had the best time, he has been so well looked after and spoilt. Melissa and Steve will care for any pet in their care as though they are their own, are more than happy for messages checking in and sent plentiful updates and pictures the entire time. It feels so reassuring to have found two great sitters. Melissa and Steve thank you so much ❤️

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Trafford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
