Margret was brilliant with Ruby our labradoodle. She came on time and was super friendly. Ruby, who can be a bit hesitant with new people, liked her straight away. Whilst we were away she sent us many updates to give us piece of mind. She took Ruby for walks and played with her. We found her relaxed and happy when we came back. We will definetly contact Margret again in the future and we fully recommend her to others.

About: I’ve taken care of friends and family pets since I was young, looking after a range of animals from horses to hamsters! I have grown up with cats and dogs in the house and for the last 4 years have been the owner of 5 guinea pigs, one who was an RSPCA rescue. Along with our cockapoo Bart who we have had since an 8 week old puppy, who I trained and is now a very well behaved boy! I currently work within the NHS in an admin role 3 days a week. This is local to home and my days and hours are flexible so I can be on hand for pet sitting services/drop in care when required. I will follow your needs and requirements to ensure you and your pet are comfortable and at ease and kept to their usual routine. I am an honest and trustworthy person who has only your pets best interests at heart.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my lifelong experience caring for dogs. Since I was young, I’ve been looking after dogs for neighbors and family members, so I’ve developed a natural ability to bond with them quickly. I can easily earn their trust and engage them in playful activities, making them feel comfortable and happy while in my care. I work part-time, only three days a week, which gives me a very flexible schedule for pet care. This allows me to dedicate plenty of time to walking, playing, feeding, and giving pets the attention they need. Whether it’s daily check-ins, extended stays, or last-minute requests, I can easily adjust my routine to accommodate the needs of both pets and their owners. I only offer pet sitting in my home, as I prioritize my personal safety and feel more comfortable caring for pets in a familiar environment. My home provides a spacious and secure area where pets can move around freely, play, and feel at ease. I ensure a clean, comfortable, and pet-friendly space, giving them plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while their owners are away.

Very happy with Gareth. He seems to have managed our two big dogs well during a week’s dog and house sitting, he sent regular updates and photos. His communication was always prompt and he inspired confidence on the meet and greet before the booking. House was left near and tidy. Would use again without hesitation.

Anna was great. quick responses. Accomodating with the meet and greet changing to a day more suitable to us. Frequent updates while we were away with pictures and videos. Tidied up after herself. Listened to all requests made by us about caring for our dog. And most importantly was a lovely person and our dog seemed perfectly happy. Wouldn't want anyone else to dog sit in future we will 100% be rebooking with her.

About: Hi, I’m Georgia! I’m a huge animal lover and know how important it is to find someone you can completely trust with your dog. I’d love to give your pup a home-from-home experience filled with walks, cuddles, attention and lots of love.

I regularly look after three dogs (a nervous but loving Cavapoo, a playful Chihuahua and a lively Hungarian Vizsla), so I’m used to caring for dogs with very different personalities, needs and energy levels. I love getting to know each dog individually and adapting their care to what makes them happiest, whether that’s long walks and exploring or a quieter day with plenty of cuddles.

I live in Altrincham, just a 5-minute walk from John Leigh Park and the surrounding green spaces, which makes it easy to enjoy regular walks and outdoor time. At home, dogs can relax and make themselves comfortable with plenty of sofa cuddles. I work from home when I’m looking after dogs, so they’ll have lots of company and won’t be left alone for long periods. I only look after a small number of dogs at a time so each one gets plenty of attention, care and affection.

I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine, including feeding schedules, toilet breaks, medication and any little quirks that help them feel comfortable. I understand every dog is different, from playful puppies who need patience and attention to older dogs who may prefer a gentler pace. I always make sure I have your emergency contact details and any important information about your dog before their stay.

I offer dog boarding, house sitting, doggy daycare, home visits and tailored walks. I always arrange a meet and greet beforehand so we can get to know each other and make sure it’s the right fit.

I’ll treat your dog like they’re my own and give you peace of mind that they’re safe, happy and getting plenty of love while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine as I work from home when looking after pets, meaning they have plenty of company and won’t be left alone for long periods. I love getting outdoors and regularly enjoy walks around Altrincham and the local parks, so dogs can have plenty of exercise, enrichment and fresh air as part of their day For dogs staying with me, I create a calm, home-from-home environment where they can relax, enjoy walks, playtime and plenty of cuddles. I follow each dog’s usual routine, including feeding times, toilet breaks, medication and any individual needs or preferences. For cats and home visits, I understand how important it is to keep things familiar and stress free. I’ll follow their normal routine, making sure they have fresh food and water, a clean litter tray, playtime, attention and affection (always on their terms!) I only look after a small number of pets at a time so each one receives plenty of care, attention and love

About: I have absolutely loved dogs since I was a child, unfortunately my family dog, Sandy, has now passed and it would be amazing to be able to take care of your dog as I miss mine so much and would love to give yours the same love! I have over 20 years experience with dogs (my own and other family/friends pets), I have taken care of friends pets whilst they’re on holiday. Comfortable with any breed and any age! I am a postwoman for my job so I am definitely used to a lot of walking and being outdoors so no weather will bother me and will happily take your dogs on some very long walks! About: Hi I’m Ellie - I’ve been looking after pets for friends, neighbours and colleagues since I was around 11 and in the last few years since working from home have been able to take advantage of this and offer more regular care. I’ve had small pets all my life but have never owned a dog or cat (despite loving them I know you have to have the right situation for a long-term pet). Because of this I have been taking any opportunity to dog/cat sit available. Care responsibilities have included anything from walking and feeding to daily check ins and enrichment, as well as pet sitting for longer term in situ or at my place. This has included anything from short weekend stays up to 5 weeks. Currently I am on a sabbatical from work until August 2nd and so have lots of availability and time during the day. This means your pets will get lots of attention and long walks where needed! Usually I work full time (4 days) but this is a computer based job which I do from home 3/4 days and have the flexibility to change this to be working full time from home when required for pet sitting/walks etc. I am able to work flexibly during the day as well meaning I can fit time in for longer walks (1.5hr+) during the day as well with no trouble. I pride myself on being flexible to suit pets needs and routines meaning I can increase/reduce activity levels based on age/preference/routines of whatever pet I’m caring for. I like to fit caring for pets into my life, they’re not a disruption but the best addition. For example I sometimes volunteer in the Peak District and have taken dogs on some lovely walks there as part of this. I live in a bright ground floor flat which is fully secure with a secondary door for security as well. Pets are allowed on furniture (but this can be prevented if this is part of your home routine) and pets have full roam to explore the house. I live about 5 minutes walk from many amazing Chorlton green spaces including Chorlton and Sale Water Parks which are great locations for dog walks!

We had such a lovely experience with Mia and Megan looking after our two dogs for the weekend. It was our first time using them, and they both made us feel so comfortable leaving the dogs in their care. They kept us updated throughout the weekend with messages and lovely pictures, and it was clear how happy and well looked after the dogs were. They took them on lots of walks and gave them plenty of attention and care. We really appreciated how kind, caring and thoughtful they both were, and the regular updates gave us such peace of mind while we were away. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Mia and Megan again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring and trustworthy dog sitters! 🐾❤️

This was the first time we left our chihuahuas to go on holiday. We rescued them 9 months previous and have been anxious about leaving them. But we had nothing to worry about as Danni was just fabulous. They loved their time with her. I was sent regular updates which really helped me manage my separation anxiety! Videos of waggy tails and happy girlies. Danni left our home spotless. She was the perfect dog sitter to trust to look after our precious babies. We will be booking her again for a few months time as we now feel comfortable to accept a wedding invite for overseas in a few months time.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Trafford on Rover is £26.75 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 2,965 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Trafford. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Trafford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Trafford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
