“This is the second time I’ve booked with Chloe, and once again the service was perfect. Chloe is professional, reliable, and clearly cares about the pets she looks after. I would 100% recommend her for any of your pet care requirements. 🐾”

“Emma was brilliant with Axel, we had regular updates with photos and what they'd been doing during the day...took really good care of our flat as well as Axel...will definitely be booking Emma again in the New Year”

“We messaged Peter after our other dog sitter cancelled less than 2 weeks before we were flying to get married. Peter came and met the dogs before he looked after them, they loved him, we have one nervous dog and he was really good with her. Peter walked and played with them everyday, updated me on everything and sent lots of pictures and videos of my babies, I’m very nervous when leaving them, he was great on helping me feel less anxious, my dogs loved him and will definitely miss him, and we will definitely be booking him again 😌 my house was very clean and tidy when we came back aswell Love stormy and Cleo 🩷🩵”

“Laura was absolutely lovely! House was exactly the way we left it and our Dovah was so relaxed, we have no doubt he was well looked after! We had absolutely no worries with Laura in our place that everything would be fine and our dog well cared for 🐾 Thank you for taking our booking so last minute and being so flexible with timings for us too. We will definitely be booking with Laura again! ❤️”

“Our puppy had a fantastic time with Lauren, who stepped in to help us out at very short notice. Absolutely fantastic experience and looking forward to the next time. Thank you Lauren!”

“Our first sit with Richard went really well. Arya who is normally very nervous with strangers was comfortable with Richard and accepted treats willingly. Arya is looking forward to seeing Richard again some time soon!”

“Ellie was absolutely fantastic, we booked her at short notice for a longer house sit, after being let down by a family member. Our dog is extremely nervous and Ellie came to visit beforehand to introduce herself to him and everyone else. We have a multiple animal household including an 3 legged cat, and she took it all on perfectly. Our animals have multiple dietary requirements and she also managed this easily. She did a house sit for 11 days and kept us up to date throughout with pictures and messages. We’ve returned home to very happy healthy animals and a wonderfully clean house. Absolutely 100/10 and I would recommend her to anyone. Thank you so much Ellie”

“Keri cared for our two dogs and house sat while we were away on holiday. She was very responsive and positive before her stay, coming over to meet the girls and learn the particulars about their care. She provided excellent care and kept us informed with regular updates and pics, which we very much appreciated. She has a clear love of animals, and we felt very good leaving our dogs in her care. Would highly recommend her services!”

About: I have recently moved to the area after buying my first home and would love to spend some time with furry friends. Over the past year, I have greatly enjoyed dog walking and I'm now looking to offer some house sitting. Your dog will be very well looked after and pampered during his or her time with me, and will always be the centre of attention! I will only be booking one dog at a time to ensure their needs are met and they are comfortable. I love to stay active so your pet will be able to enjoy regular walks, play time and even the odd day trip. Equally, if they like a low key life, cuddles on the sofa and cosy blankets will be available. I have completed a Dog First Aid course and can offer references if needed. I work full time from home so I will not leave your dog alone for long periods (if at all). For house sitting, I will work from your home between 9-5 and make sure your dog goes for walks at least 2x a day, plus extra toilet breaks. We will visit local woodlands, parks and possibly even the beach in cooler months. I have plenty of time to play with your dog indoors and can offer mental stimulation as well as physical exercise. After dinner and our evening walk, I will settle down with the dog to read or watch TV and cuddle. I'll be eager to speak with you and find out more about your pet before our first stay, so I can make sure they get the most out of their time with me and their individual needs and behaviours are met. Regular pupdates guaranteed to help you feel at ease while you're apart.

About: Love all doggies, especially Large and Giant Breeds: 20+ years of experience and care About Me Hi, I’m Ko! For over two decades, my life has revolved around the love, training, and care of dogs. While I adore dogs of all shapes and sizes, my true passion and specialty lie with giant breeds. I understand that extra-large dogs require extra-large understanding, patience, and physical capability. When your big pup stays with me, they aren’t just getting a pet sitter—they are getting someone who understands giant breed traits, from the gentle-giant sensitivity of Great Danes to the protective loyalty of Rottweilers. My home is a safe, spacious, and calm environment where your large dog can feel entirely comfortable and understood. Why Choose Me? • 20+ Years of Hands-on Experience: Two decades of managing diets, medication, and behavioral needs. • Giant Breed Specialist: Extensive experience with Rottweilers, Ridgebacks and Mastiff breeds. • Leash Control Mastery: Expert at handling strong pullers using positive reinforcement techniques. • Home Full-Time: Your dog will receive constant supervision and companionship. I currently work from home 3 days a week from a desk in my living room. So, I'm always with your doggy and in line of sight of the sofa, which is avaialble for them. I am available for long weekends or longer if arranged in advance. I work from the office Wenesdays and another day, which is flexible, so I could probably rearrange as needed. I have a dog friendly home with a sofa which I'm willing to share if your pup will let me. I have a small deck and fenced in yard. However, I walk three times a day in Cringle park for an hour at a time, so the deck is just for lounging and the yard for between walk toileting. No children, no pets of my own and a nice quiet environment for your pup. I recently lost my beautiful Ridgeback Mastiff Trevor. I wouldn't go as far as saying I like dogs more than people...but you know what I mean. Your favourite person will be happy, safe and entertained if they stay with me and I will be very happy to look after them.

Craig is absolutely fantastic; we highly recommend him! Craig is great with Atlas, Craig takes him on long walks, plays with him, chills on the sofa with him, and meets all his daily routine requirements. Craig goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and reassured that your pet is well looked after, and provides photo updates too! We will 100% be booking back in with Craig, Atlas can’t wait to see him again! Thank you, Craig :)

Ellie Mae looked after our German Shepherd dog Charlie while we were out for the evening. Ellie is really friendly and professional, Charlie warmed to her straight away ❤️. We had great communication throughout and were sent updates and photos throughout the evening. We will definitely be booking Ellie again and would recommend her.

Will looked after our cat, Bo, for a week and we couldn’t be happier with the care he provided. Bo absolutely loved him and was clearly comfortable, relaxed and happy in his company. Will kept us updated throughout with regular messages and photos, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious that Bo was being very well looked after and receiving plenty of attention. We would highly recommend Will to anyone looking for a reliable, caring and trustworthy cat sitter and we will 100% be using Will again every time! Thank you so much, Will!

Sarah was very professional from the first message, including offering a meet and greet before the sit where she asked some really insightful questions about our pets and their routines/habits. Our staffie has a lot of energy and can be intimidating to some, Sarah read him very well and he was settling even before we’d left the house. Our cat often disappears for visitors, however she felt safe and comfortable enough around Sarah to spend some time downstairs. The house was clean and tidy and the pets were safe and happy on our return. We would recommend Sarah to anyone needing a sitter.

Erwan was amazing with our dog Oliver! As a rescue he can be nervous at first with new people but he loved Erwan straight away. Erwan also made sure to keep us updated whilst we were away which gave us peace of mind, he has great communication skills and was lovely throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good pet sitter.

Laura was brilliant, we were so worried about leaving our dog,Tilly, with anyone while we were away,Tilly is 13 with quite a few health issues, Laura let me tell her all about Tilly different needs, including medication that needed to be given and she even came around before doing the house/ dog sitting so we could meet and go through everything, she kept us updated with photos and our house was left clean and tidy ,we will definitely be using her services again ,thanks Laura 😊

Christy was an excellent house and pet sitter. She looked after our 2 cats and 1 dog whilst we were away for the week and gave us frequent updates each day on all of their well being. She was incredibly efficient during the pre-sitting meet up and asked lots of questions in order to get to know the pets. She followed all of our guidance and was very respectful at all times. Thank you so much, Christy! 😊

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Stockport walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stockport choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
