“Muffin had a great time with Sonia! He felt comfortable immediately and Sonia's communication was amazing, regularly sending photos and updates and letting us know how muffin was doing, thank you Sonia!”

About: I’ve had a cockapoo back home who taught me how much love, patience, and consistency dogs need. Since moving to the UK, I’ve looked after different dogs, always making sure they feel safe, calm, and cared for. I work from home full-time, so your dog will rarely be left alone. I’m around throughout the day for walks, play, and company. My weekends are flexible too, which means extra time for longer walks or little park picnics. I live alone in a one-bedroom apartment, which means your dog gets a calm, dedicated space with my full attention. We’re right next to a garden and walking area, and the flat has lots of light and windows, so dogs feel settled and at ease.
“Benji is quite nervous around new people but I could instantly tell he was relaxed and comfortable when spending the day at James’s place. He has been spoilt with attention and walks and I received updates throughout the day. I would highly recommend James and Benji is looking forward to his next visit ☺️”
“Carol was great, arranged a meet and greet beforehand so our dog and us were comfortable. Sent loads of updates to reassure us our dog was having a good time. Would book again!”

“Amazing. Kieran is such a lovely lad, he really took his time with my pup. Unfortunately I didn’t get to meet Aleksandra but I’m sure I will next time! She really enjoyed herself and we definitely will be back again! Thank you”
“Will and Sam were great with woody my 2 year old chocolate lab. I was anxious as woody had never stayed with anyone before. They kept me updated throughout the day he eventually settled and was very well cared for.”

“Lovely lady and her chihuahua minnie is the cutest. Shes very laid back and made me feel at ease from day 1 even though my chihuahua pablo can be quite demanding and has some behavioural issue. She updated me daily and pablo came home very happy. Would definitely use her again. Thankyou ????”

About: Since I was a teenager I've been taking care of my grandparents cocker spaniel Alfie for up to a week at at time, and some weekends. Recently I've bought a house and now have a 9 month old puppy of my own called Enzo. Raising him has given me experience with puppies, as well as the knowledge I had from caring for Alfie. Between the two of them they've thrown every hurdle at me so I feel well prepared to look after your dog too. It can be difficult organising last minute care, which is why I offer same-day requests and more than happy to pick up if needed. I'm available for boarding most weekends as we are in with our own pup anyway. As I work from home on Fridays and Mondays I can look after your pup both Friday and Sunday night so that's no worry. We have a large fenced garden (which Enzo loves sniffing around) and I have a spare dog crate in case your dog needs crating overnight and you have forgotten one. Enzo is crate trained but if your pup is okay sleeping in a bed/sofa in the living room that is fine too.

In My Home: My consists of a 2 bedroom apartment in Stockport with a fenced in garden and access to trails for active dogs. Cats are welcome to roam free in the house as if it were their own. I provide a safe, loving environment with consistent routines, plenty of playtime, cozy rest areas, and daily walks. In the Pet Owner’s Home: I follow the pet’s routine, ensuring they’re comfortable and cared for, while respecting the home. I am able to provide job cards and updates to pet owners whenever you require as I understand you will miss your furry friend.
“Jenni was a brilliant sitter and Chewie loved his stay with her and Biscuit. We were sent some pictures during the stay to keep us updated and she gave a detailed recap of the day when we collected. We hope to arrange future dog sitting with her and would absolutely recommend.”

About: Having grown up surrounded by dogs I really miss having my own. I have 3 children and my boys love to help walk, play & care for dogs too. I am a keen runner so I have come back on Rover to offer a dog running service for those dogs that need more than a walk round the block. I run most evenings and from September will be able to offer a running dog service in the daytime too, I run upto 15k weekdays and longer runs on a Sunday. Being a full time mum I feel I can offer boarding anytime. Now the children are back to school I can offer walking services anytime throughout the week after 9 am. I have a lovely fenced garden front and back so lots of space and security for your dog. I live by a lovely park with lots of field space but love going on more adventurous walks too.
“So grateful to have found Ros to look after Teddy for the day. It was the first time Teddy was in doggy daycare and he can be an anxious dog but I needn’t have worried. Teddy had a great time with Ros and Georgie, having lots of playtime with his new doggie friend. Ros gave me updates throughout the day and clearly looked after and cared for Teddy. Can’t recommend her enough and already have made another booking!”

About: We are two dog lovers who have our own cockapoo called George who loves other dogs and is playful and kind natured. We provide lots of cuddles and love at home and also plenty of exercise and playtime through walks and playing in the garden. As a couple who have had to find pet care for our own dog in the past, we feel we can provide an amazing service whilst enjoying the experience, as every person and dog in our house adores other dogs. I work from home 5 days a week and walk my dog George during my lunch break for 40 minutes. I would be able to do the same for your dog/s. My partner Nick walks George before work (7am) and again for at least an hour after work (5pm). Therefore looking after your dog during the week would easily fit into our routine and in the evenings we are mostly in our home with George watching TV and relaxing. If you require any weekend dog boarding we can accommodate this too. Our garden is fully fenced off and completely secure. We provide lots of love and care to our own dog and any other dogs that enter our home.
About: I know everyone says this but we really love dogs and having had challenges finding suitable care for our own dog wanted to offer our home to others. We like to think of ourselves as offering your dog a holiday while you enjoy yours. Our Vizsla, Ivy, has given us four years of fun, challenges and far too many face licks. She loves company so taking in new pooches is as good for her as it is for us. We offer a spacious home and garden with daily walks, enrichment activities, access to the furniture and plenty of cuddles. We will adapt to your preferences and try and keep whatever routine or habits are unique to them - after all this is meant to be fun for them too! We are happy to consider dogs who may need additional help. Ivy suffers from separation anxiety so alone time is rare and she also requires daily medication. We know it can therefore be an additional struggle finding that home from home which we can offer. We have experience of medium to large breed’s primarily but happy to consider smaller companions. Our household consists of myself, my wife, our toddler, Ivy and a cat. We do like to meet out borders before confirming a stay just to ensure the dynamics suit. We have flexible work schedules so primarily one of us is always working from home. We are out at least once per day with Ivy and therefore find an additional dog fits in seamlessly with our routine. We like to do a pre meet to make sure the environment suits your dogs needs. We treat every doggy visitor as if it’s our own, and yes that does mean they can sleep on the bed.

Katherine is so lovely and took such wonderful care of our dog Otis during doggy day care. She was really amenable to our schedule and provided lots of photos/pieces of information for each day that she looked after him. We could tell at each pick up that Otis had a brilliant time! We look forward to hopefully booking with Katherine again in the future 😊🥰

Chloe was lovely with Chip. He can be a little temperamental at first but he soon warmed up to Chloe within 10 mins of being dropped off, where I felt comfortable leaving him. When I came back to pick him up they were best friends and he was very happy in her company, almost as if he didn’t want to leave. Would highly recommend Chloe if you are looking for a dog sitter.

Jes and her bf were great dogsitters. They agreed to a last minute request and were flexible with times too. Jes looked after Willow for two days, Willow was a little anxious the first day but the second day she was completely at ease and very excited to see them. Jes sent regular updates and photos and would always respond to messages very quickly. I couldn't recommend Jes more for a dogsit.

Elizabeth was a really calm and lovely person! She accepted my booking last minute the day before Christmas Eve! She brought me into the house and showed me around, showed me the garden. She was responsive when I messaged to check on Casper. It would have been nice to receive some pictures during the visit but on the whole I was very very happy. When I collected Casper each day he seemed very happy and on Christmas Day he was cuddled up with Elizabeth’s family on the sofa when I walked in the house! I would definitely use Elizabeth again the next time I’m up.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
