“Alina has a very calm, relaxed way with the dogs in her care, Toby was happy to go with her after first meeting her on our Meet & Greet the day before. He was excited to see the basket of toys especially the boys. Alina lives very close to a large park which is ideal for walking dogs. We felt very comfortable leaving Toby in her care, Alina is certainly very experienced in handling dogs, Toby sat down beside her when we picked him up which for us is a sign that he was comfortable in her presence. We would definately use her services again. Thank you Alina”

Patti clearly had a brilliant day. She came home happy and relaxed, and it was lovely to see how settled she was. Aneta even took her out for a proper walk despite the rain, which we really appreciated. It is clear Patti was well cared for and enjoyed her time. We would happily recommend Aneta and will definitely be booking again.”

About: I'd love to welcome your pup into my home while you're away! I offer home based dog sitting in Glossop, providing a safe, fun, and caring environment where your dog will be treated like one of the family. I share my home with a friendly, playful 2-year-old Sproodle who loves having a companion to play and socialize with. For this reason, it's important that any dogs staying with us are sociable and good around other dogs. As I work from home, I'm around all day for plenty of attention, cuddles, and supervision. Your dog will join us for two 1-hour walks a day with my own dog, plus lots of playtime in the house and garden with enrichment toys, puzzle feeders, and soft toys. I can accommodate a shorter or longer evening walk if that's more appropriate for your dog. Having grown up with dogs my whole life, I really understand their individual needs and quirks and I tailor my care to suit each pup. I prefer to arrange a meet and greet beforehand to make sure everyone gets along, but I appreciate this isn't always possible so I'm happy to discuss alternatives. If your dog would enjoy a cosy, loving home from home with plenty of play and companionship, I'd love to chat! I currently work from home full time and used to juggling the attention, affection and needs of a pub with my job. I'll get out for one 40 mins walk or 2 x 20 minimum throughout the day. I have a fully enclosed garden and my own bouncy puppy to keep your own pup company. I have a crate for overnight if required as well

About: I have taken care of pets since I was 13, been a very responsible owner and always cared for my pet’s wellbeing. No matter if it is my family dog, or my roommate’s cat, or a dog sitting request, I always pay full attention and care and love for our furry friends! I understand the struggle and the separation anxiety when it comes to dogs as my Dor Dor was a rescue and have lived a full and happy life before she went to doggy heaven. Having animal companions helps me stay active and joyous in caring for them, I love going on long walks and so it is quite a win win situation for you and me! I mainly work from home during the week, which is perfect for pets who requires more attention and separation anxiety as I can be in person and as attentive and caring as possible! Since I live by myself, there are no pets or roommates to surprise your dogs. My home is located right next to a huge park which is perfect for long walks or frequent walks!
“Stan had a brilliant time at Sarah's, a testament to her, that he actually ate when he was with her. Stan normally won't eat his food for around 12 hours if I'm not around, even with my husband, so for Stan to eat is a huge sign he was happy. He came back tired 🤣 obviously been a busy boy. Thanks for taking such good care of Stan Sarah and we look forward to seeing you next week 😄”

About: I have a 2 year old female Saint Bernard who I love dearly. Shes a big friendly giant who loves playtime with other dogs. I also regularly care for my brothers 2 Cocker Spaniels who are lovely nutters. I understand how nerve-wracking the thought of leaving your precious pooch with others can be but I would endeavour to make them one of the family while they are in my care. I am based in Buxton and available for boarding, day care, dog walking etc. Happy to walk my dog separately to yours and your dog will not be left on there own. Your dog can have free roam of my house while they are here and I'm happy for them to be on the sofa/beds. I'm currently working full time but can make time around shifts and on rest days to care for your pets. Besides my work schedule, I'm really flexible and can't think of a better way to spend my free time than with dogs. I have a medium sized secure back garden with a high perimeter fence. I live on a quiet side road away from the main road and there is plenty of open spaces and trails around for walkies. One dog who lives in the house, no children, 2 adult dog lovers.

“Clare was absolutely amazing with our dog, Ted. She's super understanding and clearly loves dogs! Ted was so happy when we picked him up from daycare and had clearly had a great time and was well looked after!”

“Debbie took fantastic care of Kobe, arranged a meet and greet before hand taking lots of notes about Kobe to ensure she knew everything to look after him. She gave him lots of walks and fuss making for a very happy and contented dog when I collected him.”

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
