I’m confident with energetic dogs, patient with nervous ones, and always make sure pets feel safe, happy and well looked after. I treat every pet like my own and I like to keep owners updated for peace of mind, messages or pictures of their own fur babies. I currently work mostly from home, which is very flexible for getting in those walks or visits as needed, or even just for company in my home. I have a fenced garden and live close by to fields, canals for lovely walks. I have two cats who are very gentle and tame.
“Carol was great, arranged a meet and greet beforehand so our dog and us were comfortable. Sent loads of updates to reassure us our dog was having a good time. Would book again!”

About: We will welcome your dog into our home as one of the family – they may not want to leave! My husband and I are both in our 50s and have spent our lives around dogs. We lost our beloved dog, Jarvis, a few years ago and decided to take a break from dog ownership so we could travel more. However, there's still a dog-shaped hole in our home and our hearts. Our children have now flown the nest, and because I work from home, dog boarding and daycare felt like the perfect way to share our love of dogs while helping other owners. We regularly care for the dogs of family and friends, treating each one as if they were our own. Dogs staying with us enjoy plenty of love, attention, walks, play, and mental enrichment games. They are welcome to snuggle on the sofa, relax in the garden, and enjoy all the comforts of home. We have a secure, fully enclosed garden and a park just across the road for walks and adventures. We understand that leaving your dog with someone new can feel daunting, which is why we encourage a meet-and-greet whenever possible. Peace of mind for owners is just as important to us as providing exceptional care for their dogs. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. We look forward to meeting you and your four-legged family member soon. ❤️ I work full-time from home, so your dog will have company, care, and attention throughout the day. Waking up on my pillow ❤️ (if they're staying overnight and enjoy a bed cuddle!) • Up to three walks per day, tailored to your dog's age, fitness level, and usual routine • Mentally stimulating games and enrichment activities • Meals and medications according to your instructions • Plenty of nap time and relaxation • Sofa cuddles and companionship • Lots of fuss, love, and attention. At weekends, your pooch will simply become part of the family. We'll take them along on our adventures, with plans made around their needs, comfort, and enjoyment. 🐾 We aim to keep your dog's routine as close as possible to home. Meal times will follow their normal schedule, and oral medications can be administered exactly as instructed by you. My husband is a retired police officer, and between us we pride ourselves on providing a safe, secure, and trustworthy environment where dogs can relax and feel completely at home. We only accept dogs from one family at a time. Our home is warm, welcoming and secure for your dog(s). We have a fully fenced and secure garden with no rear access, eliminating the risk of gates being left open. Fresh water is available at all times and is refreshed regularly throughout the day. During warmer weather, we leave the back door open so dogs can safely move between the house and garden as they wish and we will ensure your dog is kept as cool as possible. We have space for crates if your dog prefers to sleep in their own familiar crate. If your dog is not usually allowed upstairs, we can provide a comfortable dog bed or sofa space downstairs, helping them maintain the routines and boundaries they're used to at home. Daily photo updates will be sent for your peace of mind.
“What I loved most was how comfortable Ava was from the meet and greet to when going for the day off she went comfortably with Karen and didn’t even know we’d gone! Karen kept our minds at ease with regular pictures and updates. Ava loved her time with Karen and the doggies and she will defiantly back 😊”

“We left Patti with Aneta for the first time and had a really great experience. Aneta was immediately warm and reassuring, which made us feel very comfortable leaving her. Patti clearly had a brilliant day. She came home happy and relaxed, and it was lovely to see how settled she was. Aneta even took her out for a proper walk despite the rain, which we really appreciated. It is clear Patti was well cared for and enjoyed her time. We would happily recommend Aneta and will definitely be booking again.”

“A lovely family, all of which looked after Cooper as if he was their own. Cooper ran into their house this morning, so excited to be there again. I know he will be so well looked after 😁”

“Jenni was a brilliant sitter and Chewie loved his stay with her and Biscuit. We were sent some pictures during the stay to keep us updated and she gave a detailed recap of the day when we collected. We hope to arrange future dog sitting with her and would absolutely recommend.”

“Lola had a great time on two separate days with Helen, Simon and Adam and was dragging me up the drive both times. I messed up, well thought I had and they were so accommodating. Couldn’t recommend them more.”

“Clare was wonderful with my Border Collie, Phoebe! She provided regular updates with photos, showing how happy and active Phoebe was during her stay. Clare's home was perfect for a playful dog like Phoebe, offering plenty of space to run and play. I felt completely at ease knowing Phoebe was in such good hands. I highly recommend Clare to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter. We'll definitely be returning!”

About: Having dogs since I was 4, I have always been comfortable and passionate. We are currently PAT volunteers with our dog Bjorn (golden retriever) and currently undertaking my pet first aid qualification. I can provide a full DBS check and provide dog walking insurance details. To clarify, the dog walking, boarding and day sitting will be solely done by myself. My wife will be present in the home but works from home. I am a full time dog walker and sitter. I can be flexible during any day of the week, and will give plenty of notice if circumstances change. Pet's come first in my household, wether it's a toilet break, play time or just attention. I can easily provide photos/videos throughout the day to keep your peace of mind, and also hold a fully quarter acre fenced garden, pleanty for any dog to run and have a sense of freedom or adventure.
“Karen looked after my whippet pup, walnut, today after a previous meet and greet. Really pleased she kept me updated and walnut came back shattered and happy - I honestly think she may have preferred staying there she had so much fun with Milo and Karen’s 3 dogs! We’ll be rebooking when needed, really pleased.”

“Alina was responsive, friendly, and checked on Bruno's dietary needs beforehand. She helped me out at the last minute too. Bruno had a fab time with her and her two lovely dogs.”

About: I have a 2 year old female Saint Bernard who I love dearly. Shes a big friendly giant who loves playtime with other dogs. I also regularly care for my brothers 2 Cocker Spaniels who are lovely nutters. I understand how nerve-wracking the thought of leaving your precious pooch with others can be but I would endeavour to make them one of the family while they are in my care. I am based in Buxton and available for boarding, day care, dog walking etc. Happy to walk my dog separately to yours and your dog will not be left on there own. Your dog can have free roam of my house while they are here and I'm happy for them to be on the sofa/beds. Besides my work schedule, I'm really flexible and can't think of a better way to spend my free time than with dogs. I have a medium sized secure back garden with a high perimeter fence. I live on a quiet side road away from the main road and there is plenty of open spaces and trails around for walkies. One dog who lives in the house, no children, 2 adult dog lovers.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
