My dog stayed with Ruth and her family overnight, I had a meet up prior to introduce ourselves which was very helpful. Ruth ran to my dogs schedule causing her less anxiety. I had lots of photos and a video of how she was getting on, felt very informed. We have now re booked for next years holidays. Highly recommend Ruth and her lovely family. 5 stars

We have never needed to leave Maggie our Border Terrier with anyone but family and friends so we were nervous about using someone else but had absolutely no need to at all,Karen is just fantastic !!! Such a welcoming home from home for Maggie.Karen was so reassuring and has such a calmness about her. We did a visit and a walk first to meet her and her lovely dog Reggie before Maggie had her first sleepover. Karen sent several videos and photos over the 2 days ,totally reassuring us Maggie was absolutely fine and very happy....asleep on the sofa, playing on the bed and out for a walk. Absolutely reccomend this lovely lady to anyone looking for a home from home stay !!?

Our pup Alfie had a great time on his holiday. Louise was absolutely brilliant, keeping us up to date with pictures throughout the weekend. Alfie went on great walks and had so much fun playing with their beautiful, best natured girl, Luna. We highly recommend Louise and we’ll defo be booking with her again. Thank you so much for everything both. Alfie was a happy pup.

Hannah and Chris were fantastic with my dog Gus - he's not a fan of other dogs and were very mindful of this, he clearly bonded with them both and had a lot of fun! Hannah and Chris were also happy to keep me updated, which is always reassuring! Thanks again and I'll definitely be using their services again!

Would highly recommend Beth for boarding/ sitting. Beth had Pippin for one night. We arranged a meet and greet first which immediately put our minds at ease and allowed Pippin and Barney to meet and make sure they got on ok. It was warm weather when Pippin was staying over and Beth had already planned out the stay to ensure Pippin was comfortable; including early morning and late evening walks to avoid the hot weather and also prepping some frozen goodies for them! Beth shared regular updates including photos of walks and feeding. Barney is a lovely boy who was happy to welcome another dog into the house. We will certainly use Beth again

I can not thank Laura and Jay enough for looking after Millie. I was sent pictures and video of her stay and have to say, she looked like she was having so much fun. This was the first time I had left her with anyone, and I was nervous but I need not have been , as she was so well looked after. They are great people who I would highly recommend. There beautiful home is well situated and offers plenty of fields to run and play, and that was just me. If you are looking for someone who you can trust with your own pet, you need not look any further. Thanks again guys, so pleased I found you. Steve and Millie.

A lovely couple who made sure that they kept Beauty in her comfort zone. They were exceptional at keeping us informed regarding Beauty's welfare. Richard and family did their very best to reduce any anxious behaviours exhibited by our dog. Thank you for the brilliant way in which you allayed both our and our dogs fears. I have no doubt that i will be booing again.

What can we say. Lisa and Laurence are amazing 5* dog sitters. From the meet and greet with our dog Leo and ourselves you could tell they love dogs. They and Leo immediately hit it off. They took time to find out all about Leo and show us around their lovely home whilst answering any questions we had. Lisa sent us plenty of pictures and updates on how Leo was getting on which was very reassuring. They even provided a cool blanket for the hottest days. My Wife and I would not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to friends.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in High Peak on Rover is £43.7 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
