“Both were great, clearly love dogs and know what is needed to take care of a puppy properly! They did a couple of drop ins and had my puppy overnight, I got lots of updates and photos from them Would recommend!”

“Valeria was amazing with my dog. She is very caring and treated my dog like her own. She sent me regular updates including photos and videos. I definitely recommend her and will use her services again.”

“100% book Michael to look after your dog! We dropped our two Frenchie girls off with Michael for an overnight stay. Throughout their stay and prior to the booking, Michael has been incredible at communicating, putting our mind well and truly to rest. Michael made a real fuss over our girls and took them on plenty of walks as well as sending photos with them snoozing. The girls took to him straight away and we have already booked Michael again to look after them. We are so glad to have found him!”

“Sam always takes wonderful care of our Frank, he comes home happy and knackered every time. We’re very grateful to have somewhere for him to stay where we have no worries what he’s up to, especially as he’s a very nervous boy. Thank you Sam as always!!!”

“Cody was really happy to spend time with her. I got pictures and videos everything and I was really impressed of how they connected. Thanks for helping me sit Cody and making him feel comfortable in your home. Your help is greatly appreciated!”

“Absolutely amazing 🎉. This is the second or third time we have booked Lucy to look after our treasured ragdoll Mae. Mae absolutely loves going to see Lucy and is always loved and looked after brilliantly whilst with Lucy. Lucy also ensures regular pictures and updates are provided which is another bonus. I honestly 100% would recommend Lucy to anyone who wants there cat to be cared and loved.”

About: Hello! I’m new to the pet sitting world, however since moving to Manchester City centre only a couple of weeks ago I’ve already sat for a few of the residents in my building- both cats and dogs. I’ve got experience of previously having my own springer spaniel (crazy but fun!) they definitely prepare you for any situation 🐕 I’ve moved from Bolton to Manchester so I’m still fairly local to ‘home’ where my family cat, Twix is my main highlight when I go back to Bolton, he’s independent and affectionate when he wants to be and I’ve grown up with him so I’m also comfortable around cats too. Would love for the opportunity to look after your pet in a safe and fun environment! I work from home most days and I’m also very flexible when I go to the office making my availability fairly open. Myself and my boyfriend are around each evening and usually free on weekends! I live in an 18th floor, secure apartment within Manchester City centre The apartment features a communal outdoor terrace, is pet friendly- for both cats and dogs It also has a courtyard to play ball/ for dogs to go to the toilet etc and is shaded so very cool especially for this weather. Close to Ancoats marina too which is a gorgeous dog walk!
“Shalina did a great job with Louis and her housemates are great too! Nice safe environment for dogs and Louis was well cared for. Will definitely rebook Shalina in future! Louis was so happy when we picked him up, thank you :)”

“Isabel is the perfect dog boarder - she clearly loves animals, and is very enthusiastic about caring for them - plus she is also great at communication and super easy to deal with. Thankyou so much Isabel :)”

“We had a great experience with Froso. Her & her partner were reliable, caring, and kept us updated throughout. Our dog was happy, well looked after, and clearly felt comfortable with them. We’d definitely recommend them and would happily book again. Thank you again x”

“Leda was absolutely fantastic with our cockapoo,Milo! She sent me photos of him and messaged me to let me know he had settled in! She was so accommodating as there was a last minute change and she was very kind. I cannot recommend her enough and Milo will be visiting her again.”

“Another fantastic stay for our two with Julia and Tony. This was the longest we have left them and the videos, we got throughout, showed what are marvellous time they had and how well they were looked after. Thank you Julia and Tony. Highly recommend.”

“Viktorija was absolutely wonderful with our Rose. All communication before and during was great, and Rose has come home very happy and relaxed after her stay. Viktorija did everything she could to make the stay stress free for us and Rose, and we're so happy that she had such a great time with her. Totally recommended!”

“I had a really good experience. He took great care of my dog and always sent me clear updates with photos, which I really appreciated. My dog looked happy and well looked after the whole time. If I need a dog sitter again, I’ll definitely come back to him.”

“Abbi & Martin did such an amazing job looking after my dog Frankie. They couldn’t have been more attentive, caring and communicated well during the stay. I have no hesitation in recommending them and when the need arises, will rebook Frankie to stay again. Great dog sitter!!”

Siobhan was absolutely wonderful! She was friendly, reliable and took great care of everything. Communication was excellent throughout, and I felt completely comfortable knowing my dog was in good hands. I would definitely recommend Siobhan and would happily book with her again. Thank you! ❤️
Sonny was well looked after by Ruby and I would definitely send him to stay with her again. Ruby is super friendly and communicative, took care of Sonny as per his usual routine and sent us lots of updates/photos where he looked happy and comfortable which put our mind at ease. I would highly recommend her :)

What can I say in order not to ramble just how amazing Lauren is, just fantastic. Both my boys were loved and looked after as i would. I was sent some amazing photos and, believe me my two had made themselves very much at home. Nothing was too much trouble. I would not look anywhere else because my boys absolutely loved them as well *******^^^

Thank you so much for taking such good care of Luna. Luna loved her stay and you helped to put us at ease. Really responsive and sent some nice pictures to show us what a good time she was having. Luna will definitely be looking forward to her next stay with you. Thanks again! ☺️🐶

We couldn't be happier with the care our dog Remi received. From the very first meet-and-greet, it was clear this sitter genuinely loves animals — Remi warmed up instantly, which says a lot since he's usually a bit shy with new people. Throughout the stay, we got regular photo and video updates that put our minds completely at ease. Remi came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well-exercised (and maybe a little spoiled!). The attention to detail was fantastic too — feeding schedule followed to the letter, medication given on time, and even a note left about how his walks went each day. It's obvious this isn't just a job for them; they truly care about the pets they look after. We wouldn't trust anyone else with Remi and will absolutely be booking again. Highly recommend to any pet parent looking for reliable, loving care!

Steph was just fantastic. My dog has had a lot of health issues and some terrible allergies so I can get quite anxious about leaving him. Within a few minutes of talking with Steph about Albie's care, I knew he was in safe hands. Confident, considerate and really relaxed. After 2 nights, Albie was happy to see me but not too bothered, which any pet owner knows is the greatest sign of a happy dog that has had all the attention they need.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
