“Valeria is the most caring loving person. It was first time we left Louis with someone he or we don’t know but we couldn’t choose a better person to look after our Louis 🤍 We received pictures and videos every day. I’m pretty sure Louis is going to miss her or Johny 🖤 We will definitely be using Valeria again if we needed. Thank you Valeria 🤍”

About: I’m a dedicated cat lover with hands-on experience caring for cats both in Taiwan and the UK. I have my own cat (an orange tabby back home), and I’ve regularly looked after friends’ cats, including daily drop-in visits for feeding, cleaning litter, and spending quality time with them. I understand that every cat has a different personality, so I’m always patient and gentle, making sure they feel safe and comfortable in their own space. Cats tend to warm up to me quickly, and I love spending time playing with them in the evenings or simply keeping them company. While I’m especially confident with cats, I’m also happy to care for dogs. I’m reliable, attentive, and will always keep you updated so you can feel at ease while you’re away. I work a hybrid schedule and only go into the office two days a week, so I have plenty of time to care for and spend quality time with pets. On my work-from-home days, I’m around throughout the day for feeding, playtime, and companionship. I’m also flexible in the mornings, evenings, and weekends, making it easy to fit around your pet’s routine and needs. I always prioritise creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment for pets, especially cats who are more sensitive to changes. I follow your instructions closely, including feeding routines, litter cleaning, and any specific care needs. I’m gentle, patient, and respectful of each pet’s personality and boundaries. For house sitting or drop-in visits, I make sure your home stays clean and secure, and I’m happy to send regular photo and video updates so you can feel reassured while you’re away. Your pet’s wellbeing and comfort are always my top priority.
“Hannah looked after my GSD 'Luna' for two nights. Hannah was amazing in the care she gave to Luna and the wonderful updates and photos she shared with me along the way. Luna came home happy. Thank you :-)”

About: I had dogs while growing up and I have looked after loads of different breeds from cockapoos to labradors to chihuahuas. I have also fostered dogs before going to the forever homes and I had a rescue a few years ago ☺️ My working schedule is hybrid so I only go twice to the office. I usually go to the gym or dance class most days when I am away just for couple hours. I live in a flat with several gates and doors. I always walk dog on a lead and have a safe green area near by as well as the canal.
“Andria took great care of Rusty! It was his first time away so we were a little unsure how he would respond but he had a great time. Andria sent us lots of photos/videos and was really accommodating with following Rusty’s routine etc. We know where to leave him next time he needs somewhere to stay!”

“Isabel looked after Duffy for 5 nights and we were really pleased with the care he received. What stood out most was the regular photo and video updates throughout the stay — it was so reassuring to see him happy, settled and well looked after. Duffy came home content and relaxed. We would recommend Isabel to other pet owners.”

“Absolute pleasure to arrange and deal with, and one very happy Lexi doggie. Don't think she even wanted to come home again... Piccy updates, will always re book with Alex and Craig as long as they continue. Georgia”

“Newton & Jia were excellent dog minders for our Westie! We were lucky to get them so last minute and they took great care of her with plenty of walks and cuddles and updates throughout the weekend. Would definitely recommend and will re-book in the future.”

“Victoria has been an incredible sitter. Zeus had the best time and was in a very good happy mood when I came to pick him up. Usually he is a little scared on the first night, however it seems that this time he was not scared and settled in super well. I definitely recommend her! She also sent me updates and pictures which was really nice.”

“Alice and her partner were such a wonderful, friendly, dog loving couple who did an amazing job of looking after my dog overnight. He was clearly well looked after, taken on some lovely walks and I’m grateful for all the photos of him while he was staying with them. I would recommend Alice to anybody and I will be keen to use their service the next time I need some help.”

“Loki had a wonderful time staying over with Liuliu and Mia. They were great about walking and feeding him on our usual schedule, and when I came to pick him up, he actually seemed reluctant to leave, haha. Thanks again, Liuliu!”

I couldn’t be happier with the care our dog received! From the very beginning, Campbell was friendly, reliable, and clearly passionate about dogs. They kept us updated throughout the stay, and made sure our dog was happy, comfortable, and well looked after. It was such a relief knowing our dog was in safe and caring hands. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup, which says everything! We would happily recommend Campbell to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable dog sitter. We’ll definitely be booking again!

Colette was amazing with our little frenchie Ari. She is very thoughtful and wanted to know her likes and dislikes so she could give the best care for Ari and help her settle in. Ari had a great time and we got lots of updates on how she was getting on. Ari is looking forward to her next stay :)

Thank you you much for looking after Enzo for us, we couldn't be happier with the service provided, from agreeing to more than one meet and greet to dealing with his reactive and separation issues you were amazing and provided lots of updates so we couldn't thank or recommend you enough.

Ruby took wonderful care of Reggie! It was a short & sweet stay as I was away for just one night, but Reggie had a lovely time and Ruby sent regular updates & photos which I love! I booked last minute & Ruby was very accommodating, making sure we could fit in a quick meet & greet beforehand. She was really lovely and Reggie came back a happy boy. Thank you again & Reggie will be back for a holiday soon! Xx

Tania and Mario looked after my two dogs for a weekend and it went super smoothly following a meet and greet. I received updates throughout their stay and I felt at ease knowing they were in the hands of Tania and Mario. My two clearly felt comfortable and at home. You can tell they have a big love for dogs and special instructions were followed to a t, which was appreciated. They are booked in again, which brings me peace of mind for when I'm next away. Thanks again both! :)

Yemisi was the perfect pet sitter for my 6 month old puppy’s first weekend away from home. I felt so at ease as soon as we arrived and the updates over the weekend were lovely to receive and so reassuring. Ralphie loved her and seemed to settle straight away. I will definitely be booking again the next time Ralphie needs someone to look after him. Thank you!

We had a great experience with Alice and James. They were friendly and easy to communicate with. They took excellent care of our dog, and we felt completely at ease while we were away for 2 weeks. We received daily updates, photos and videos regularly which made us feel relieved in our holiday. We would be happy to recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy pet sitters, and we’d gladly have them back again.

Letitia is a caring and passoinate dog sitter. Yoshi was taken after properly and even sent us video and pic whilst our Yoshi was with her. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
