Availability

I currently work Monday to Thursday in Salford, usually on either 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm shifts. Outside of these hours, I am very flexible and available for pet care, including evenings and weekends. I live with my long term partner who works from home, so he is home during the day, everyday. This means pets are rarely left alone and are cared for in a calm, consistent home environment. My partner is very comfortable around animals and we both have experience caring for pets both personally and through fostering. However, I remain the primary sitter and your main point of contact, and I personally handle all bookings, communication, and care. For peace of mind, we are both happy to meet you and your pet beforehand so you can feel completely comfortable with us and the home environment. If you prefer that I am the sole person interacting with your pet, that can also be arranged, just let me know what you’re most comfortable with. I’m always happy to answer any questions before a booking to make sure you feel confident and relaxed leaving your pet in my care :)

Safety, trust & environment

I provide a calm, safe, and comfortable home environment where pets are treated as part of the family. I take time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, and needs so they feel secure and settled, and I keep a consistent routine with feeding, toilet breaks, exercise, and plenty of rest. I also make sure my home is pet safe and suitable for the animals I am caring for. I have experience fostering animals, so I’m used to caring for a range of temperaments. If I do have foster pets in the home, they are always kept completely separate. I don’t accept overnight boarding during these times, so you can be assured your pet will only stay with me when I can give them my full attention in a calm, safe environment.

Information Annamay C. would like to know about your pet

Before a booking, I like to get a good understanding of your pet so I can keep things as close to their normal routine as possible. It’s really helpful to know their feeding schedule, daily routine, personality, and any habits or preferences they have. Please also let me know about their temperament (for example if they’re nervous, reactive, or very energetic), how they are around people and other animals, and any medical needs or medications. The more you can share, the better I can make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and settled while they’re with me.

A typical day

A typical day with me is pretty relaxed and shaped around each pet’s usual routine so they feel comfortable. We’ll start the day with feeding, toilet breaks, and a bit of attention so they can settle in and feel at home. During the day, dogs will usually get a mix of walks and playtime depending on their energy levels. I always make sure they’re safe and happy, and I avoid anything too busy or overwhelming if they’re a bit nervous. I’ll make sure they’ve got a cosy space to relax, a bit of company, and some toys or enrichment if they’re interested. I like to keep things calm but still engaging so they don’t get bored. In the evening, it’s usually a final walk (if needed), dinner, and then winding down so they can settle comfortably for the night. My main goal is just to keep things as close to their normal routine as possible so they feel safe and settled while you’re away.

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Annamay. I moved to Manchester from Ireland about 5 years ago. Growing up, my grandparents rescued greyhounds and would find them loving new homes. I learned so much from them about caring for animals. Up until I left Ireland I would help them with walking, feeding, training, and grooming all the dogs in their care while also looking after my own pets. Growing up I had four dogs. Sadly my Boxer (Alli), my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Bella) and my Cocker Spaniel (Pele) have all since passed away from old age. My family dog, Lola (Poodle) still lives back in Ireland with my younger siblings as I moved to Manchester to complete my Postgrad in Primary Teaching. My Aunt also runs a cat shelter that I volunteered at during summers growing up and I rescued two older stray black cats from the shelter, that have now also sadly passed from old age. I currently foster animals with Blue Cross because I genuinely love being around them. Please don’t worry though, I never have foster animals staying with me at the same time as a booking. While your pet is in my care, they will always be my number one priority, receiving all the love, attention, and care they deserve 🥰

Annamay and her boyfriend were incredible! They took such great care of our high energy spaniel. We got photos and a status update every day which was so nice. They're absolutely excellent and truly love animals which shows! Thank you both!

Thank you for taking such good care of Holly. Annamay and her partner were so helpful coming down to meet us and asking plenty of questions about Holly and her routine. She was spoilt with walks, treats and a comfy couch for the night. It’s so nice knowing she’s in safe hands and I would thoroughly recommend!

Fantastic experience with Annamay and her partner who took great care of my cat, Pippa. I was kept updated with messages and photos, and felt completely at ease while I was away. Pippa was happy and well cared for - highly recommend and will rebook.

Puff had such a wonderful stay with Annamay and her partner! From the moment we met them, it was obvious how genuinely they love animals. They are incredibly nice, friendly, and paid attention to every single detail of Puff’s daily routine to make sure he felt right at home. I loved getting daily updates and photos, I could tell he felt completely safe and comfortable just by looking at his hilarious sleeping positions! 🩷They also returned everything so clean and tidy. I cannot recommend them highly enough, we will definitely be booking with them again! 🥰
