“Chen is a brilliant sitter, was happy to meet and have an introduction meeting with my dog, asked lots of questions and requested comprehensive information on likes, dislikes, behaviour, favourite toys and habits etc. She was super friendly and thoughtful, checking in with any queries. Ripley had a great time on her trial night boarding and Chen kept me up to date with lots of pupdates. Ripley is looking forward to hear longer stay next week. I can't recommend Chen enough.”

“This was Peppa's second visit to Edward's. She couldn't wait to get inside when we arrived so she is obviously happy staying here. Edward was great, too - giving Peppa a walk and sending me photo updates during her stay. Thanks again.”

“Always a great experience with Aysha and Mike! They’ve been our regular sitter for a while now, and we couldn’t be happier. You can tell they have a special bond. We’re so thankful for their consistent, loving care 💕”

“I had a fantastic experience with Annamay and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. My dog Fifi stayed overnight and was clearly so well cared for. Annamay kept me updated throughout with plenty of photos and videos, which really put my mind at ease. It was lovely to see Fifi so happy, playful, and relaxed in her care. Communication was perfect from start to finish, and it’s obvious that Annamay genuinely loves and understands dogs.”

“Amazing job looking after my pup! Kind, attentive and very clear with communication. I got updates every day with very cute photos and for the first time my dog wasn’t stressed out or sad about me being gone. Normally she would be very depressed and not eat but Rosa and her pup Lily kept my dog super happy and entertained. Very much recommend Rosa for your dog sitting needs and I will definitely be using her services again! Thank you Rosa for taking such good care of Mikka I really appreciate it!”

“Otis had a great time staying with Megan and his new pal Woody 🐶 he stayed overnight whilst I was working away and Megan kept me updated throughout the two days. I felt at ease leaving him and he can’t wait for his next stay with them!”

About: I have had 9 years of experience looking after and training my family dog since she was a puppy (who I no longer live with nor do I own any of my own pets), and through using the BorrowMyDoggy service where I volunteered to take local dogs on walks with my friends, which gave me experience in looking after other people’s dogs and different breeds etc. I feel very comfortable with taking full responsibility over our dogs’ needs, such as making sure they stay safe during the heat and being a fun, stimulating partner for dogs to have around! I have experience taking dogs to training classes and dog agility, as well as other types of experience such as looking after them whilst injured and wearing a cone. I work from home up to 2 days a week, so it is up for discussion if you have a particular day you would like me to care for your dog while you are at work. I also have flexible availability on weekends and I am open to doing overnight stays. My flat is pet friendly so can provide a home-based service for longer hours while owners are at work and it would be my pleasure to include a walk subject to the dog’s requirements and extra cost. I can provide regular toilet breaks in my flat’s spacious garden and lots of lovely attention! I am only prepared to dogsit one at a time and would prefer to meet your dog before booking with me. My apartment building is pet friendly and encourages dogs to take advantage of the secure, fenced and spacious garden. I am open to having dogs with different needs if agreed beforehand ie. if you’d like your dog to be crated/ has a specific toilet schedule.

“Wing Yan is fantastic. My dog had lots of fun with her whilst we were in Manchester for the weekend. She sent me lots of videos of my god having great fun. What a lovely lady.”

“Lida and her flatmates were amazing dog sitters! Left my dog for 2 nights and he thoroughly enjoyed his time there, with multiple walks daily, play time and even gave him a shower, plus a lovely gift to top it all. She was proactive with keeping me updated with photos and his status multiple times a day, I was left at ease that my dog was in safe hands - highly recommend.”

“Demi is now our go-to sitter for Presley as it’s clear how much they love having her as well as P having such a great time when she’s there! She runs to them as soon as she sees them and they went above and beyond looking after her while we were away during the heat wave”

“Both were great, clearly love dogs and know what is needed to take care of a puppy properly! They did a couple of drop ins and had my puppy overnight, I got lots of updates and photos from them Would recommend!”

“Absolutely brilliant sitter. Sophie had our 4 month old pup and he had a blast. The videos and pics were so welcomed and we were kept informed of how he was doing the whole way. Would definitely book again.”

“Loki had a wonderful time staying over with Liuliu and Mia. They were great about walking and feeding him on our usual schedule, and when I came to pick him up, he actually seemed reluctant to leave, haha. Thanks again, Liuliu!”

About: Cats😺 I have been a proud cat mom for the past year and I adore my cat, Muffin. Before getting her, I spent a lot of time researching cat care to ensure that I could give her the best possible life. Since then I have continued learning and building my knowledge every day. I am particularly experienced with kittens and Ragdolls. I understand their personalities, needs, and how important routine, gentle handling, and attention are. Caring for my own cat has made me very attentive and detail-oriented when it comes to feeding, hygiene, playtime, and wellbeing. Dogs 🐶 I have grown up as a dog owner and caring for dogs has always been a natural part of my life. I am experienced in daily walks, feeding routines, playtime, cuddles, and understanding each dog’s unique personality. I am very comfortable looking after dogs and I will go above and beyond to make pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. I have experience caring for both large and small breeds both younger and older. 💕 I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I always follow each owner’s instructions closely and respect that every pet has their own routine, preferences and personality. I am more than happy to receive detailed instructions and I will never judge anyone for being particular about their pets care. As someone who is very specific about my own pets routine, I completely understand how important this is. I am happy to provide regular updates and photos while your pet is in my care, if preferred, so you can feel reassured and connected whilst you are away. I will treat your fur baby with the same level of care, patience, and affection as I do my own! I am a university student, however I have finished university until the next academic year, therefore I am very flexible with my availability to take excellent care of your pet! If there are any days you would like to book and it appears as unavailable on my schedule please feel free to message me and I will try to accommodate those dates for you :) Note: 3rd-14th August I will be unavailable during weekdays. I will still be available on weekends during this time. Thank You :) I am not currently offering services in my own home, however I will implement safety measures when taking care of your pet in your home. As an indoor-cat owner, I appreciate the importance of keeping indoor pets safe. I will always follow your instructions carefully when caring for your pet, and no matter their routine, preferences or lifestyle, indoor or outdoor, I will respect this and follow this carefully. I would always appreciate clear instructions and any emergency contacts (such as a vet or family member) for peace of mind.

Andrea and her mum were amazing with Angel! ❤️ They took such great care of her, sent us lots of pictures and kept us updated throughout her stay. We were a little worried as Angel was in heat, but they were so understanding, patient and caring. We felt completely at ease knowing she was in such good hands. Highly recommend! 🐾

We had such a wonderful first experience with Mary! She was incredibly communicative, sent us the most adorable photos, took Mabel on lovely walks to the park, and gave her lots of snuggles. She was also so accommodating with our drop-off and pick-up times, which we really appreciated. We felt completely at ease knowing Mabel was so happy and well cared for. Most importantly, Mabel absolutely loves her! We’ll definitely be booking with Mary again. 10/10!

Phil was great from the first meeting! Clearly a lover of dogs, was patient with Nellie and took time getting to know her needs and routine. Communication was excellent throughout, updates and questions on how to best manage Nellie. I’d highly recommend Phil for anyone after a dog sitter in Manchester, and would trust him again. Gave peace of mind when leaving Nellie. Thanks, Max

Suzie looked after Wendy for a couple of days while we were away for the weekend. She saved us - despite being a last minute request, she was proactive in helping us with Wendy. We were so worried about not finding who could look after her as we were going somewhere where she wasn’t allowed to be with us. Suzie immediately built a strong relationship with our lovely dog and we felt that she was in safe hands. We’re definitely asking Suzie to look after Wendy whenever we’ll need to! Thank you Suzie x

I cannot recommend Rosa highly enough! I was nervous to leave my 15 month old Chow Chow Elsa as I’ve never left her with someone overnight before. Rosa put me totally at ease - sending me regular updates and showing me how well Elsa was getting on with her dog Lily. She was patient with Elsa and totally attentive to her needs. She has also always been very quick to respond to my messages and has given me such peace of mind - I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again and I would recommend her to anyone. Thank you Rosa!

Our dog Chloe had a great time with and was very well looked after by Sarah and Josh - we met up beforehand with our dogs in a local park to make sure there would not be any issues (an excellent idea) and everything went great. Sarah was very communicative and provided plenty of updates to reassure me everything was going well. Very strongly recommended!

We can’t recommend Ellie enough! She took such wonderful care of Violet, kept me regularly updated with thoughtful messages and photos, and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. Violet came home happy, content, and clearly completely spoiled. It was obvious she received so much love and attention during her stay. Thanks so much, Ellie—we’d definitely use you again and would happily recommend you to anyone looking for a caring, reliable pet sitter! 🐶❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Melanie looked after Pablo whilst we were away, and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better to care for him. She looked after him really well, and it was clear that he was really happy and comfortable in her care. Melanie also kept us updated on how he was doing throughout our time away and sent us lovely photos, which gave us so much reassurance and meant we could relax knowing Pablo was being so well looked after. We’re so grateful to Melanie and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone kind, reliable and caring to look after their dog. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Pablo!

Edward was great with Coco. Would definitely recommend him for future stays. To begin with he was very polite with me and my partner, showing us around his house and being very open to any questions we had for him. Whilst we were away, Edward gave us updates and sent us photos of Coco - showing us clearly how much fun they were both having.

Wing is amazing! She is extremely friendly, and her clear communication gave me absolute peace of mind. I loved getting daily updates on my two dogs, and she always reached out promptly if anything came up. Both of my dogs were so happy and healthy in her care. I couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
