“Presley seems to be super happy & comfortable with Demi - this is our second time booking and it was great to see Presley be so excited to see her and Tayler. As always, the updates were super informative & cute 😊”

“Rob and Graeme are definitely the second daddies my Dog has! The happiness she has when she see them is just incredible and they do the extra milestone to make her as part of their family. Short or longer stays, they are absolutely my priority when booking as I do receive the regular updates and I can see how happy my puppy is. Thank you guys..you are the best!”

“Amazing experience! My dog stayed for 2 weeks and had a great time. He usually has separation anxiety, but Andrea and her family gave him so much love and care that he settled in right away. Will absolutely book again next time!”

About: Although we are new to Rover, my partner and I have both grown up in dog-loving households, so caring for dogs has always been a part of our lives. From daily walks and playtime to feeding, grooming and plenty of cuddles, we’ve always loved having furry friends around. Since moving to Manchester together, we haven’t been in a position to have a dog of our own and have recently lost both of our family dogs due to old age, which is one of the many reasons why we’d love to care for yours. We know how important it is to find someone you can trust, and we’ll treat your dog as if they were our own. Whether it’s for a day, a weekend or a longer stay, your dog will receive lots of love, attention and care in a safe, happy home. We’ll make sure they stick to their usual routine, get plenty of exercise and, most importantly, feel comfortable and settled while you’re away. Our goal is for both you and your dog to feel completely at ease, knowing they’re in caring hands. Also note we are City Centre 5 min ish walk from Victoria tram or exchange square! I work from home every day, so your dog will rarely be left alone and will have plenty of company throughout the day. My partner also works from home 3 times a week, so there’s almost always someone around. We both grew up in the countryside and love getting outside, so walks are already a big part of our routine. At weekends we’re usually exploring nearby parks, countryside spots or heading out for a long walk, and we’d love to have a four-legged friend join us. We live in a dog-friendly apartment building with a secure garden, and there’s a great dog park just across the road where lots of local dogs go. We don’t currently have any pets in the home of our own. We have a spacious two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with plenty of room for playing, relaxing, or sleeping. We also have a balcony where they can enjoy fresh air, and big windows that let in lots of natural light.
“I can recommend Chen 110%, such a lovely lady, she has been fantastic with our German Shepherd. Lots of communication, pictures and videos and I feel completely at ease now. I have booked Chen in again for when we go away and I can guarantee Hunter will love his stay. Thank you so much and looking forward to seeing you soon 😊”

“Annie had a lovely time with Jayne and Sid and their lively puppy. Jayne sent us loads of pictures and the two dogs were soon friends! Would happily let Annie stay with Jayne and Sid in the future.”

“My dog Lucy had a great weekend with Rebecca! This was the first time I had used Rover and Rebecca made sure I felt at ease with everything before the booking. She gave me updates and photos during the stay and I felt confident lucy was in good hands. Thanks Rebecca!”

“Just got back after a week away and Sweep had a week with Cathie. Came back to a happy contented little fella. Cath kept us updated with what he had been up to through out the week and photos which was brilliant. Will definitley use Cath again in the future and would recommend to anyone who wants peace of mind on hols knowing their pet is in a lovely home from home.”

“I had a lovely experience with Gemma, super friendly and kind. I would recommend her to anyone, she has extensive experience with any pets - cats, dogs, rodents, birds, etc. Thank you very much for taking care of my baby ! ♡♡♡”

“Robert and Lauren were absolutely incredible! I was quite anxious having to leave my 12-week pup overnight and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to look after him. My pup immediately took to both of them and the warm and welcoming home, and their love and affection towards my puppy made me feel so relaxed. They provided me regular updates with pictures, keeping his schedule as normal as he’s at home. Rob and Lauren were also very flexible with when I needed to drop off and pick up my pup. I would recommend them without hesitation and will definitely making my future plans based with their availability. Thank you so much for looking after my puppy so well and giving him such a lovely home!”

“Ana and her partner were brilliant with our anxious dachshund, Zero. They were lovely with him, making sure he was comfortable and calm after we had dropped him off. They sent us pictures and updates regularly so that I didn’t worry too much 😂 I would 100% book with them again!”

“Valeria is the most caring loving person. It was first time we left Louis with someone he or we don’t know but we couldn’t choose a better person to look after our Louis 🤍 We received pictures and videos every day. I’m pretty sure Louis is going to miss her or Johny 🖤 We will definitely be using Valeria again if we needed. Thank you Valeria 🤍”

“We couldn’t have asked for better people to look after our dog Watson for an overnight stay. Karen and Trevor are incredibly warm and caring — Watson was clearly in the best hands and felt right at home with them. They kept us updated with lovely photos throughout his stay and even gave us a ride to the train station, which was so thoughtful. We would absolutely leave our dog with them again without hesitation. Thank you for everything!”

“Aysha is a fantastic dog sitter! Goes above and beyond as always! Super caring and treats Kylo like her own. She’s been incredibly understanding and accommodating to his needs. She provides training and extra treats, long walks. Aysha even cooked pancake, steak and eggs for Kylo! She loves sharing her food. 🤭 Brilliant service! We’ll book Kylo with you again & again & again.. 😊”

“Neda and her family have looked after Lily (cockapoo) for 5 weeks. They have treated her like their own cockapoo. She's come home today and looks a picture of health. Neda has been a blessing to our family looking after Lily as both her owners had suffered strokes. Knowing Lily was receiving so much love has helped Sue and Ian with their recovery especially receiving lots of videos and messages ❤️ We highly recommend Neda and her family. Thank you so much Neda really appreciate all of your help and support x”

“Lauren and Jordan looked after John for just over a week. From the minute I dropped him off, I knew he was in safe hands. It’s clear from the photos he was well looked after and treated as one of their own. Thank you so much!!!!! 🩶”

“Lauren has been amazing with Havoc (the dog!!) she's been really patient with us working things out and had given her the little holiday she deserves while we were away. Lots of love and walks. Lots of consideration about the weather and getting adventures in before the heat of the day. And lots of reassuring photos showing her having a fantastic time. The best review I can give is Havoc was clearly happy with her and we'll definitely be using Lauren again!”

“Good communication, reports my dog felt at ease despite her being an anxious dog and I could tell she was from the photos sent, he looks confident and competent in looking after dogs. I would recommend.”

Melanie and her partner were amazing with my 1.5 year old Labrador, Butler! They kept me updated with lovely photos of him enjoying his walks and relaxing at bedtime. Butler had a fantastic time and was so happy when I picked him up. I’ll definitely be booking again! 🐾❤️

I couldn’t be happier with the care our dog received! From the very beginning, Campbell was friendly, reliable, and clearly passionate about dogs. They kept us updated throughout the stay, and made sure our dog was happy, comfortable, and well looked after. It was such a relief knowing our dog was in safe and caring hands. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup, which says everything! We would happily recommend Campbell to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable dog sitter. We’ll definitely be booking again!

Perfect couple to leave your dog with, Demi was great with daily updates for Luna and sending pictures. Luna didn’t even look back at me when I dropped her off, she obviously felt comfortable enough with Demi after just one meeting. Luna got an upset stomach and Demi dealt with it swiftly putting me at ease. With it being Luna’s first time away from home she didn’t settle fully in her create so Demi and her partner even took turns sleeping on the couch with her ❤️ I would 100% recommend and 100% will be using them again.

We couldn’t be happier with Remy’s stay with Wing. He was clearly very happy and settled in well, and he had a lovely time with Cooper. Wing has a great understanding of dogs and looked after Remy so well. It was wonderful to see how comfortable and relaxed Remy was when he came home. Thank you so much, Wing, for taking such good care of him. We will definitely bring Remy back for his next stay!

Andrew took care of Enzo he & his partner were incredible with him. He went off his food & he went out his way to make sure he was ok and would consider other options if needed to make sure he would eat something, he would of done anything for Enzo he went above and beyond for him. They are the nicest of people you could ever meet and especially to take care off your pets. I be using them again in future thank you

Rosa agreed to look after Bobby Westie at short notice for one night. Bobby was very well looked after, he had access to a garden area and Rosa made sure he was settled and safe, with some added cuddles! Rosa sent plenty of pupdates and photos of what Bobby was doing and I felt reassured that he was in good hands. He returned home tired and happy. I would highly recommend booking Rosa! Thank you 😁

Megan was great with Albie. We met beforehand and Megan showed me around her home and where Albie would be staying. We also met her dog to check they got along. (He's lovely!). Communication was great and Megan was really flexible. It was Albies first time with a sitter and he seemed to be really happy and settled. Thanks Megan and Tom!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
