“Chen was amazing, she helped us out with just a couple of weeks' notice with Obie. Her communication was excellent and she made a real effort to get to know Obie, including a no obligation "get to meet you" session with him. Through the whole booking period Chen was brilliant at keeping in touch; sending photos, what they had been up to, and how he was doing with food and function, which was so reassuring. Highly recommended and I will definitely book with Chen again.”

“Valeria is amazing! She’s such a genuine person and I’m so glad I found her on here. Ava, loved being with her! It was my first time using Valeria and I have already booked in again! Can’t recommend enough.”

“I had Turbo stay with Tiago for 5 days and it was like sending my dog to an all-inclusive holiday! Tiago is more than Turbo's dogsitter he is Turbo's friend! Tiago showed great care for my dog by following all of the instructions, played with him and made him feel safe in a new environment. My dog didn't even cry when I handed him over to Tiago and I instantly felt convinced my dog was in good hands. There's not a single thing I wish Tiago did differently. I am going to book Tiago again for sure!”

“Amazing care for our nervous dog Edith, both Eve and Oliver were so calm when they met Edith despite her barking in their faces they were not fazed and once we left her with them she settled in. Thanks so much and we will be booking again soon 😊”

“Fantastic, felt so comfortable leaving my dog with Olivia. She is lovely and I know looked after my dog so well. Gives good updates on how well my dog is doing and I will be definitely booking with her again ☺️”

“Wing did a fantastic job caring for Cookie during our 7-day holiday! She kept us posted daily with photos, notes, and even videos, so we always knew what they were up to. Wing is highly organized, responsive to messages, and very flexible, she even suggested convenient meeting locations when we picked Cookie up, making it so easy for us. Cookie came back happy, calm, and clearly well looked after. I’ll definitely book with Wing again!”

“You’re the best pet sitter, Aysha! We could not ask for more. Kylo clearly enjoyed his long stay (19 days) with you whilst we were out of the country. Thank you very much for being super attentive, loving and taking excellent care of Kylo like he was your own. He was comfortable and in safe hands. We appreciate everything that you and your partner did for him. Communication is top notch with lots of updates, photos and videos on their daily routine (feeding, walkies, playtime, cuddles). Kylo definitely loves you and your partner, he sees you both as family 💕 Outstanding service!! 1000/10”

“Would highly recommend this sitter for your dog. Our dog has epilepsy requiring strict medication schedules and keeping his routine consistent. Hannah provided lots of updates and photos, we could see he was having a lovely time and thoroughly enjoying himself. We would have no hesitation in using Hannah again.”

“Loki had a wonderful time staying over with Liuliu and Mia. They were great about walking and feeding him on our usual schedule, and when I came to pick him up, he actually seemed reluctant to leave, haha. Thanks again, Liuliu!”

“Our dog Gloria had a lovely stay with Megan, we often worry because Gloria can be a little bit of a diva and has some separation anxiety. But Megan was great with her and adapted to her needs. She kept us up to date with how she was getting on too which made us feel really at ease. Would definitely like to book her in to stay again and would definitely recommend Megan.”

“Louis had a great time with Jamie. They took wonderful care of her and kept us updated with lots of cute pictures. Great dog sitters and we’d be happy to book with Jamie again!”

“Samantha looked after my Labrador, Shadow, for a long weekend and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She kept me regularly updated with messages and photos, it was great to see how much fun Shadow was having. It was clear Shadow was well cared for, with plenty of walks, attention, and a genuinely happy environment. You can tell Samantha really cares about the dogs she looks after, and Shadow came back relaxed and content. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Samantha again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog minder.”

Thank you Chen for spoiling Coco and taking such great care of her. My miniature Dachshund is nervous and reactive, therefore I was naturally worried she would be anxious with being left with a stranger in a new environment. Chen was great with Coco. Sent me lots of updates throughout the day and reassured me. The photos showed Coco having a great time, sunbathing at the window, loving her walks and relaxing like a normal velcro dog. She absolutely adored staying with Chen and was living her best life. I would definitely book with Chen again and recommend her to my friends (as long as it doesn't clash with the dates I need her 😂😂😂)

Wing was extremely professional and friendly from the start. She made the effort to meet us beforehand so Elsa could meet her dog, Cooper (a lovely King Charles ), which really put our minds at ease. We had to adjust our dates, and Wing was incredibly flexible and accommodating throughout — she even let us drop off a little earlier than planned. During our holiday, we got regular video updates and photos, and Elsa clearly had a wonderful time. She looked relaxed, comfortable, and completely at home, tail wagging in every update. On the way back, our flight was delayed and we ended up over an hour late picking her up — Wing couldn’t have been more understanding about it. Honestly, I can’t recommend her enough. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Andrea was brilliant - always very positive and reassuring which made me feel so comfortable leaving our dog with her. She gave plenty of updates and made lots of effort to keep our dog entertained, healthy and happy and we'd definitely recommend her to anyone needing someone to look after their dog for a few days!

Jayne was absolutely lovely. This was Buffy’s first stay with Jayne and she was so calm and welcoming allowing Buffy time to search her new environment and for us to feel assured about leaving Buffy. Jayne was attentive to our communication about Buffy and was able to offer specific updates when we picked her up. Buffy made a new friend with Jayne’s puppy Maggie. We had pictures and updates throughout the day which provided reassurance for us. Would definitely recommend Jayne and will book again. Thank you xx

Demi is now our go-to sitter for Presley as it’s clear how much they love having her as well as P having such a great time when she’s there! She runs to them as soon as she sees them and they went above and beyond looking after her while we were away during the heat wave

Antonia had Betty and Molly for me for a week while I was on holiday and they had an amazing time. Antonia sent me lots of videos while I was away and it was so clear how happy my fur babies were. I highly recommend Antonia and I will definitely be asking her to have them again. Thank you so much Antonia for taking such good care of my girls.

Chester’s first sleepover with Alison went really well. Alison was organised with the information we’d previously discussed at our meet and greet and from Chester’s recent day care. We were hosted regularly with photos of Chester’s day and he settled really well. Pick up and drop off smooth and looking forward to his next stay. Thank you

Izzy is the perfect dog sitter. Gizmo and Cookie absolutely adore her, and she absolutely loves being around them. Extremely polite, very friendly and respectful. Kept us posted all day with photos of the dogs, reassuring us they were in the best of care and having a great time. Gizmo and Cookie had loads of cuddles, lots of playtime and the best time. Will definitely be booking Izzy again and Highly Recommended. 5*****

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
