Dedicated, attentive, and peace of mind care
I've had direct dog-sitting experience on Rover through my partner Ciara (who is no longer as active here due to work commitments but could still lend me a hand). We've boarded a few dogs in our home for extended breaks (4-10 days), including two energetic French Bulldogs and Spaniels. My previous dog-caring experiences have been with my family's dogs- a black Labrador called Luna and a Border Collie called Dodger. Seeing them both and helping to look after them when my parents or sister are on holiday is always such a pleasure, and this pleasure has been repeated with the other dogs we've taken care of. Dogs make me smile and always light up the room; the hardest part is having to say goodbye.

Daniel was great with looking after Ziggy! He was really flexible with the meet and greet, especially as I had booked last minute. He kept me updated throughout with pictures and let me know how Ziggy was doing. For both pick-up and drop-off, he was ready at the agreed times and Ziggy was happy when I picked him up. Schedule
I work online and part-time as an Economics and Politics tutor, with the majority of my working hours being after 4 pm. Working from home and having a flexible schedule makes looking after dogs and being attentive to all their needs, or providing a comforting presence even when I'm working, easy.

Safety, trust & environment
We live in a first-floor flat with a spacious living room that would be able to accommodate a crate if needed and is large enough for larger-sized breeds to move and rest comfortably. If dogs prefer to be close to people at night, we're both happy to have the dog's bed in our bedroom overnight- but we are strict about letting them sleep with us all night on the bed! Although we don't have a garden, we are yards away from popular dog walking spots: Queensmere Dam in Swinton, and L.I.V.I.A Silverdale, a large woodland and trail area.
A typical day
It will depend on the age and temperament of your dog but nothing can beat a good game of fetch on an expansive field, or, if your friend is not as sprightly as they used to be, a gentle stroll around Queensmere Dam to take in the smells and sounds of the ducks on the water. While in the house, if they have a favourite toy(s), I enjoy getting on all fours and having some playful pats, tug of wars, and belly rubs. Even if I'm working, I have had dogs with me during lessons just for the reassurance that I'm still with them- the occasional bark and interruption is a small price to pay ?
