“Ruby had another wonderful stay with Karen and Trevor, she ran in as if it was her own home and was very settled when we collected her. I'm not sure she actually wanted you leave! We're so happy to have found Karen and Trevor who we know lavish so much love and care on Ruby when she stays...thankyou so much x”

“Kate was fast to reply to my messages and to answer my questions, and she was kind enough to let Peppa visit before I made a booking. I was a bit apprehensive at how Peppa would settle with a new sitter given she has separation anxiety, but upon arrival it was obvious that she immediately felt at home. Kate kept me updated throughout with pics and messages letting me know how everything was going. Couldn't have asked for more. Thanks very much, Peppa can't wait to come back!”

“Couldn’t have asked for better dog sitters to watch our British bulldog whilst we went away for the weekend, from asking them if they had dates available to watch our dog to going to collect himst the end of his stay, so polite and always answered any messages we sent across, was so lovely of them to send us photos of our boy whilst he was there and really made us feel better about leaving him, our dog fudge really seemed to have settled in with the family and I couldn’t thank them enough.”

“We couldn’t recommend Alison and her family enough to take care of your fur babies 🐾 We recently went away and it was the first time leaving our Walter 🐾 with a pet sitter. We of course was nervous and apprehensive. But I can’t stress enough how incredible Alison was and how easy she made it. Throughout our time away Alison reassured us, sent us pupdates and it was so obvious from the photos that Walter was receiving the love and attention he would have gotten at home (if not more) it really did put our mind and ease and allowed us to relax and enjoy the holiday. Walter is on a raw food diet (if you know, you know) which is something I was worried about it being a lot for whoever looked after him but again, it was no problem for Alison and Walter was able to get the same breakfast he gets at home (if that’s something you’re worried about) I would definitely recommend Alison and we will definitely be booking her again for our next trip away!”

“This was the second holiday that Piper has had with Maryana and once again we are delighted with how Piper was cared for and all the walks in the park she had. We received lots of pics of Piper having fun and updates a few times a day. Thank you again! 😊”

“Richard did a fantastic job looking after my dog, Loki, for the night. He followed all my instructions perfectly and kept me updated with photos which gave me great peace of mind. Loki was happy and well cared for and enjoyed being with Richards dogs. I would definitely recommend him and his wife to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter and will be using Richard again.”

“Bernard was loved and cared for like he was their own. The updates and comms were fab and we felt at ease knowing Bernard was enjoying his time as much as we were on holiday. Thanks so much!!! We will definitely be booking again.”

“Dylan and Ellie were fantastic sitters for Rudy. He seemed to settle in at their home really quickly, and the photo and video updates we got from them over the weekend put our mind at ease. Rudy was clearly having a great time and we were worried that he wouldn't want to come back home! I'd definitely recommend them as sitters and would love to book them again.”

“We had a great experience working with Daniel. He looked after Divy for a weekend, and we faced a tricky situation with Divy which Daniel handled expertly and kept us in the loop throughout. Highly recommended!”

“I couldn’t be happier with Wai Han! She was able to accommodate Porridge for a very last minute booking over christmas and she was absolutely wonderful. She’s incredibly lovely and professional, she kept me updated with photos and videos the whole week and it was clear Porridge had a wonderful time with her, her partner and her cat Saba - so I had complete peace of mind. I’d highly recommend her and will definitely be using her again in the future 😻🩷”

“Beth and Ross made me feel at ease, as soon as I dropped Snoop off. You can tell they are absolute dog lovers, and snoop took to them instantly. I received plenty of updates and pictures whilst I was away, and they seemed upset to see him go. I will 100% use them when I next need a dog sitter.”

About: I love animals more than anything and as such, I have decided to turn my passion into more of a business. I have been providing care for my family & friends pets for the last few years. As i work from home I am here all the time. I do have my own little lhasapoo who is my magnet, and is used to having other dogs sharing her environment for daily, overnight and weekly stays. I don't like leaving my little furgirl in a kennel, she would not survive that environment which is why I want to be able to provide the level of care that i would expect my furgirl to have in a home environment. There is a local park which we frequent a couple of times a day and we join other friends and their dogs. It is great for socialisation and really helps shy and nervous dogs build confidence. I will not let a dog off their lead in my care unless i am paying for a private enclosed field. I work from home so i am available all day to ensure that your dog is cared for and can get regular breaks and walks. I have a fenced garden and a key locked gate and your dog will be supervised when in the garden. I will keep all dogs on a lead when on walks. They will have the run of the house like my dog and can sleep wherever they want. Equally happy to follow any training that you are doing with your furbaby. Cats can happily roam around unless you would like them separated.

“Freddy had his second holiday at Holly’s had had a blast. I love that Holly is always honest about Freddy’s stay. I was made to feel at ease and nothing is too much for Holly. She loves Freddy as her own and always ensures that she sends regular updates, photos and videos. If it wasn’t for Holly I wouldn’t go on holiday as I wouldn’t trust anyone else to look after Freddy. Thank you to Holly and her family for making Freddy’s stay so personalised and ensuring he was always happy and well cared for. If I could give more that 5* then I would. Freddy can’t wait for his next stay at the end of the year!”

“Keely was absolutely fantastic. Catered for penny and made her feel at home (first time I had ever left her). Penny got 5 star treatment and was so well looked after regular pictures and updates too. I know where penny is going when I next go away. Thanks soooo much. X”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and caring for them has always been a big part of my day to day routine. From long walks and playtime to giving meds, I’ve handled it all! I’m experienced with different breeds, temperaments, and ages, from energetic puppies to senior dogs who just want a comfy cuddle. What sets me apart is how attentive and gentle I am with every dog I meet. I take time to get to know their personality, routines, and comfort levels so they feel safe and happy while you’re away. I treat every dog like my own, with patience, love, and consistency. I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available most days for walks and drop-in visits. I can easily adjust to your dog’s routine, whether that’s early morning walks, midday drop-ins, or evening visits. I know how important it is to feel confident that your pet is in safe hands. When I’m caring for a dog, I always follow their usual routines and any instructions you provide. I make sure they’re secure on walks, keep their environment safe, and give them plenty of attention and affection. In your home, I respect your space and treat it as if it were my own, clean, careful, and professional. My top priority is making sure your pet feels comfortable and cared for while you have total peace of mind.

Chester’s first sleepover with Alison went really well. Alison was organised with the information we’d previously discussed at our meet and greet and from Chester’s recent day care. We were hosted regularly with photos of Chester’s day and he settled really well. Pick up and drop off smooth and looking forward to his next stay. Thank you

Thank you Beth and Lyle, you have been fantastic. I appreciated the Regular updates and pictures. A clear plan in place to integrate their Labrador with max, which worked well, the pair seemed to get on very well. Very accommodating when we possibly needed to change the pick up time. Would highly recommend x

Pamela and Ben were wonderful looking after my dog Charlie. He was an old dog with a heart condition and unfortunately, he passed away while we were out of the country. Pamela was exceptional during his last moments, even video called us so we could say goodbye. I'd highly recommend her and would like to publicly express my gratitude for everything she did for us Charlie and our little old Charlie❤️

Anthony looked after my very anxious sausage dog for 16 days while I was on holiday. Very happy with how he looked after her and she was happy to be spending time with him. Got a video and photos to show how she had settled and I felt very happy that she was being well cared for. Anthony had obviously put a lot of effort into ensuring that Maybel was happy there. Thank you.

Ruth has been amazing with Oscar! From the moment he arrived he was settled and happy. Ruth sent us plenty of pictures and kept us updated. She was so understanding when we had a delayed flight and then a motorway closure to contend with. Thanks you so much for the care and love you have shown to Oscar xx

Olivia was a wonderful career for Tilly. She took the time to ask about her habits, feeding and walking routines. We arranged a little meet before taking Tilly and Olivia, her sister and partner were all there which put us at great ease. Thank you so so much for taking care of her and sending us funny pictures and videos really means a lot. Would definitely use Olivia again +++A xxx

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
