Jade and her partner Mark kindly looked after our dog Pablo and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! She kept us updated throughout his stay, sending lots of photos and videos which gave us such peace of mind. It was clear that Pablo was happy, comfortable, and getting plenty of love and attention. Jade is reliable, caring, and went above and beyond to make sure Pablo was well looked after. Jade and mark even managed to give Pablo his tablets without any fuss! We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog minder.

I was truly impressed with the way Ela cared for my elderly dog. My dog is almost 12 and is quite deaf, has health issues , is on daily medication and a specialist diet. Ela took all this in her stride, going above and beyond to ensure all these extra requirements were met, and more. Ela sent me daily photos and updates and my dog was immediately at home , exploring the safe garden, cuddling on the couch and having extra fresh veggies which are her favourite ! As a first time user to Rover.com I was obviously quite nervous, but now having found Ela I will have no problem using her again. She looked after my dog with deep love and care, Ela is obviously a true dog lover. I cannot recommend this lovely lady and her family enough to look after your dog with real care and compassion . Thank you for looking after my dog so well!

About: I’ve always been around dogs, either having my own, family pets or my spare time volunteering at a dog shelter. For the last 2 years, I’ve spent every Saturday cleaning kennels and walking dogs for Cheshire Dogs Home. This means I am well skilled in dealing with tricky dogs too. I now have adopted two cocker spaniels (mum and daughter) from Cheshire Dogs Home that I live alone with. I predominantly work from home and would ensure that I did when I had your dog. My girls absolutely love other dogs and always want to play with them. They love going out for long walks, I live near a country park which is very convenient. I would love to help others out in the hopes of building my own support network too. I work full time from home but this allows me to adapt to a dogs needs as it’s flexible. I currently wake between 6-7am every day with mine and will take them out if it’s hot or will work downstairs (or upstairs in my office where they are welcome) until taking them out at midday if the weather is normal. After work, we relax and have cuddles on the settee as well as a few games to challenge the spaniel brain I have a fenced garden and two girls that absolutely love other dogs and would love yours. They have free roam of downstairs and the garden at all time with supervised access to my office upstairs.

Richard and his family are lovely people and they looked after Florence for 2 weeks whilst we went on holiday. We were more than happy with the updates we received from Richard and Florence really enjoyed her holiday. Richard will be our first choice for our next holiday. We were worried about leaving Florence with a stranger but we had a truly wonderful experience and have complete confidence in Richard-we would highly recommend him to anyone. Thank you so much Richard.

About: I don’t have my own pets but I’ve dog and cat sitted for family, friends and neighbours. I’m a puppy yoga teacher and live close to a big park. I work from home so companionship would be lovely and tend to enjoy walks around parks so your pup will get plenty of love and attention as well as outdoor walks! I live in a flat by myself so no need to check with anyone else on if I can take a dog in. Preferred corgi size and smaller as it’s a small two bed flat. I usually log in around 7am but then I would be able to take pup out for a little walk before being back at my desk. A little lunch break stroll and then after work walk - weather permitting we can go for a walk in Heaton park and have a play there. I also live close to a small field where it’s a short walk away for quick lunchtime run. A doggy small enough to cuddle on my lap as I work too would be lovely. I have enough space for a crate in my flat if needed. I’m super careful when looking after other dogs to clear big things with them or google what they can and can’t eat. I have a car too so if I’m out and it’s a dog friendly place I’d be happy to take them with me.

About: We are mad about dogs! We have been registered dog breeders and looked after many dogs of all descriptions. We are now retired and ready to look after and spoil your precious baby! We are both retired so have lots of time to pamper your pooch! We go on at least 2 good walks a day and live next to open countryside so have easy access fields, paths and woodland. We adore dogs and their comfort and welfare is our priority. Our own dog is 15 and she is very relaxed and calm around other dogs. We have a securely fenced garden and a spacious home which has plenty of room. We are laid back about dogs being in our home and we are looking forward to meeting you and your doggy!

Mark has been great with my Nyla. He a calm to the storm of my dog, as she's energetic, can be needy, even though she's adorable 😊 She met his kids, which they wanted to keep her lol. I'm glad I have someone who I can trust to manage her tempermant & give her what she need (outside with her ball thrower) 😅 I'm happy for more overnight sittings while I am at work, as it's hard to find people who are good for your dog who you love and want to be treated well while you're away!

About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life since I was a small child. I grew up with Border Collies and now have my own collie x corgi who I cherish endlessly. Because of this, I have a strong understanding of high energy breeds and the importance of both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I’m confident handling dogs with different personalities and needs, from energetic and playful to more anxious or sensitive. I always take the time to get to know each dog individually so I can make sure they feel safe, comfortable and happy in my care. I’m reliable, patient and genuinely love spending time with dogs, whether that’s going on long walks, playing, or simply keeping them company. Their wellbeing is always my top priority, and I treat every dog as if they were my own (that means truly spoiling them). I’m currently working part-time, entirely from home which means I can ensure your pet gets the attention they need throughout the day and I can be flexible with their needs. I am typically free throughout the week but require more notice for weekends. I have a small fenced in garden and a 1.5 year old small corgi collie cross to keep your furry friend company. I have good knowledge of dog and cat body language so know when they need attention and equally space.

She really rested my mind and was sending my pictures and videos all the time! My kitten had so much fun with hers! When she dropped off my little kitten I can tell she was still herself and happy! She came back like she never left! I would definitely go back to Wai Han and do recommend her to everyone!

Daniel and his partner were great with my senior greyhound Rhubarb. They gave us daily updates and photos of how she was getting on and she always seemed really happy and content, even though her stay was over New Year’s Eve and she can be a bit nervous with fireworks. Rhubarb was so well looked after and we picked up a very happy dog at the end of her stay, we’d definitely book with Daniel again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in Bury on Rover is £33.35 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 2,774 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Bury. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
