“Amanda is an absolutely fantastic dog boarder. I 1000% recommend her! Buzz had an amazing time and came back very happy! Amanda sent lots of photos and updates and we felt so at ease knowing he was getting the best care. It’s so difficult to find somebody to look after your precious fur baby, they are so precious, but Amanda is that perfect lady to do the job :)”

“Thank you both for taking such care of him. From the videos and pictures you sent we could see how much he had settled in and how much he was enjoying himself. I'm sure he enjoyed his holiday as much as we enjoyed ours. He'll definitely be back”
“Michael was fantastic with my GSD Sigma: he kept her for 10 days like she was his own. He even took perfect care of a last minute skin issue Sigma developed a few days before the booking. Michael is great at putting everyone at ease: dogs and owners... I received constant updates and pictures... he even learned Sigma's commands in Italian! It was overall a great experience: I'll book him again in the future.”

“Nicola was absolutely fantastic with Nellie this weekend! From the moment we dropped her off, I felt completely at ease. Nicola kept me updated with lovely messages and photos, and it was clear that Nellie was happy, relaxed, and getting plenty of attention. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with Nicola again — highly recommend!”

“I was so nervous about leaving Valley for the first time, but I really didn’t need to be. Bianca and Chloe have a lovely, clean, modern, and calm home. They kept us reassured every step of the way with regular photos and updates. We’ll definitely be booking again!”

“My 14yr old Dachshund had a weekend stay with Julie following his companion of 12yrs passing away. He was very depressed and not himself at all and I wasnt going to go to my plans initially. I then came across Julie and she seemed so lovely. During the initial visit she was calm and kind and Ziggy seemed right at home. She was sp accommodating when I explained that I had to leave earlier and said it was okay he could go. She sent me regular updates and pictures to reassure me that Ziggy was okay. He looked like he has a smashing time and was cared for very well. He's got a little bit of himself back and I would rebook Julie for future plans 🖤 thankyou”

“Dan is amazing. His genuine love for dogs really shows: he’s patient, caring, and always puts the dog’s needs first (even if that means playing fetch for the 100th time). Our rescue Belgian Malinois, Apple, stayed with him for two weeks over Christmas and he handled her reactivity and need for a slow introduction perfectly and Apple now runs toward Dan, which says everything. By the time we left for our holiday leaving her behind for the first time, all my worries were gone. We picked her up happy, clean, and with everything neatly packed. Dan is the best, highly recommend.”

“Claire is absolutely amazing I was apprehensive about leaving Howie as he's never been with anyone other than close friends. What can I say he's had a ball Claire is the dog whisperer and is now considered Howie's second mum and part of my family thank you so much ❤️🐶”

“This was our first time leaving Bobby so it was scary but Karen was so warm and kept us updated with tons of pictures so we knew how much fun he was having the whole weekend! He was happy and exhausted by the time he came home from playing so much with other pups, it put our worries at ease ❤️”

“Matthew was a fantastic pet sitter for my dog, Inky. He was friendly, reliable, and kept Inky active and happy throughout his stay. It was clear that he genuinely cared for him and made sure he was well looked after. I would definitely book Matthew again in the future and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“We spent a long time searching for someone as perfect as Steve. Trusting someone to care for Fip wasn’t easy—our expectations were high, and we had a lot of questions. From the start, Steve was incredibly patient, thorough, and understanding. He took the time to answer every question and meet Fip before we made our decision, which gave us real peace of mind. Steve ticked every box. He’s a kind, thoughtful, and genuinely caring dog sitter who clearly loves what he does. Every instruction we gave was understood and followed to the letter, and it was obvious that Fip had a fantastic time in his care. If, like us, your dog means the world to you and you’re looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and attentive—Steve is the one. We truly can’t recommend him highly enough.”

“Again Kelly looked after Dexter like he was part of her own family. He loves going to stay with Kelly it’s like his little holiday too. Thank you Kelly. See you in August. Steve & Nix x”

“Bernie has loved his time with Nikki and friends so much that he didn’t want to come home and we’re now getting the cold shoulder! Really friendly and accommodating, has obviously treated Bernie with love and care like one of her own and that’s all you can ask when you leave your little guy with someone else. It was Bernie’s first time staying away from us and we were nervous but there was no need….Plenty of updates, fully reassured that he was having a great time. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Nikki, and Bernie would definitely agree! We’ll be back!”

“Valeria has been more than amazing with my pet, Fifi. Fifi can sometimes react to other dogs, so I really appreciated that Valeria kindly offered a meet and greet to gently introduce Fifi to her dog, Johnny—who is super cute, by the way! After that, we arranged a daycare session and everything went so smoothly. I also had some last-minute changes, and Valeria kindly did her best to accommodate me, which I truly appreciated. She kept me reassured throughout the day by sending regular photo updates of Fifi, which I really loved. Her communication was perfect from start to finish, and I felt completely at ease knowing Fifi was in such good hands. I would highly recommend Valeria to anyone looking for a caring, thoughtful, and reliable pet sitter.”

I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received. Communication was excellent from start to finish, with regular updates and photos that gave me peace of mind. It was clear he was well looked after, comfortable, and happy throughout his stay. I would definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you so much for taking such great care of Hansas

Delighted with the 5* care of our rescue dog Penny. She stayed for 3 weeks and was treated like part of the family with love, cuddles and plenty of walks. Penny had a blast and we had a relaxed holiday knowing she was so well looked after by Debra and Jimmy, we got daily photos and updates too, couldn’t have asked for more!🤩

Lauren has looked after our cockapoo Teddy overnight and daycare and comes highly recommended by myself and my family! Nothing is too much trouble and she keeps me updated with messages/ photos and videos of what they get up to. He’s provided with lots of exercise and stimulation and has made a little friend in their dog Dusty!
Friendly and professional. Sarah gave our one year old cocker spaniel Bailey a warm and welcoming home away from home. She was walked, fed and given lots of love. We got a lot of photos and videos of baileys stay, which really helped us feel connected during baileys absence. Highly recommend

I was very happy leaving Obie with Maria and her family. Communication was great, and I felt confident he was in good hands. Obie came back happy, which tells me he was well cared for and comfortable. I would definitely use Maria again and highly recommend her as a dog sitter.

Honestly I cannot sing praise here enough. Stasys was super patient with Eevee and she had an amazing time! I loved getting photo updates, communication was fantastic throughout the booking process and her following stay. We ended up stuck on the way home from our trip and Stasys went out of his way to drop Eevee off with a family member just to take some stress off my plate - honestly that was such a big help. If he'll have her, I'll definitely be using again in the future. Absolutely no notes.

This was the first time I’ve used a dog sitter and I was blown away by how happy my boy Sergio was while I was away. I received daily photos and videos the whole two weeks. Malgorzata and her husband gave my boy 5 star treatment and he had other dogs to play with. I had peace of mind the whole time and can’t thank them enough. I will definitely be using them next year.

Harley had a fabulous time with Moose at Paris and Rob's home. We couldn't be happier. Harley was so well looked after, we could holiday knowing he was being cared for. Thanks very much Paris and Rob. Would highly recommend them, you can holiday without worrying about your dog. Lovely people, lovely Moose. Harley has a new friend. Thanks again.
Dominic and his partner looked after our staffy, Mia for a week and we picked her up yesterday. From start to finish they were fantastic, really flexible with drop offs and pick ups. Lovely updates sent throughout the week and they really took care of Mia as if she were their own which is what we wanted. Mia is 10 years old and we can count on one hand the amount of times we have left her and never with someone she didn’t already know but we didn’t need to be worried. Mia came back happy and relaxed. Thank you to you both for being so great - we will definitely contact you in the future to care for Mia again!

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
