“Michael was amazing as always! He takes such good care of our pups. Constantly sending us updates and photos which we so appreciate. We can always relax and enjoy our holidays knowing our dogs are safe and sound with Michael! We won't go anywhere else.”

“Dan is amazing. His genuine love for dogs really shows: he’s patient, caring, and always puts the dog’s needs first (even if that means playing fetch for the 100th time). Our rescue Belgian Malinois, Apple, stayed with him for two weeks over Christmas and he handled her reactivity and need for a slow introduction perfectly and Apple now runs toward Dan, which says everything. By the time we left for our holiday leaving her behind for the first time, all my worries were gone. We picked her up happy, clean, and with everything neatly packed. Dan is the best, highly recommend.”

“Nicola looked after Frodo for a full week and did a wonderful job. He was clearly happy, well cared for, and settled when I picked him up. Nicola kept me updated and treated Frodo like one of her own. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and would happily book with her again.”

“Amanda and John were first class in looking after Luna. They are a very friendly couple and were very welcoming to her. She had a great time with them and they kept us updated on her time with lots of photos. We were very worried about leaving Luna with anyone but they put us completely at ease. We would not hesitate to recommend them.”

“Absolutely fabulous sitter! Would absolutely send our boy again. Really responsive to messages and was super flexible for us. We felt really comfortable leaving our strong Labrador here knowing he would be safe and looked after! Thank you!”

“Karen and her family have been brilliant from start to finish! This was our first time leaving Daisy on her own, as she is still a puppy I was worried she might not settle without us being there. We had full reassurance within an hour after leaving her, we got sent lots of pictures and videos of Daisy having fun with the other doggies! She ate every day and slept through the night. Endless cuddles and playing was just what we wanted to see. Daisy stayed over during valentines, we got sent a picture of Daisy with some balloons saying “I love you” which was a super sweet gesture it really made us smile. We could tell Daisy absolutely loved her stay, she was able to show her full personality and have her own little holiday! Karen was very accommodating with drop off / pick up times and had all of Daisy’s stuff ready for when we collected her. Thanks so much Karen, Daisy will be back 😁X”

“Steve was an amazing dog sitter for Albi! From the start, he made me feel completely at ease, and it’s clear Albi had the best time. I received plenty of fantastic photos, and it was lovely to see Albi enjoying lots of walks and attention. I can tell he was really well looked after, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Steve again. Highly recommend!”

“Matthew was amazing with Kasper & Kara, walking the two of them together several times a day and letting them have a run in an enclosed dog field. He maintained their medication and feeding routine and sent regular updates and videos which we really appreciated. They came home contented and tired and fell straight to sleep. Highly recommend and will certainly use again. Thank you Matthew and family 😊”

“Teddy and Oscar started with a meet and greet and I knew immediately Tracy and Dani would take good care of my boys, we than agreed and overnight stay to make sure the boys settled, I needn’t have worried, they settled in perfectly, it was like they’d always been there 😄 Tracy and Dani were so attentive, kind and caring. I got regular updates and pictures throughout the day which was so reassuring. I picked them up this morning and I think they would have quite happily stayed with Tracy and Dani. They are staying next week and I can go away confident and relaxed knowing my boys are in the best place and will be well looked after.. thank you so much Ladies, Highly recommended 🤩”

“We were nervous about leaving our rescue staffie Ty for two nights as we have only had him for 7 months and he had been in the dogs home for 6 months. Clare was very friendly and it was obvious that Clare loves her own dog Ruby and put us at ease right away. Clare sent us lots of pictures of Ty on walks with her dog and playing in the garden in a paddling pool during the extremely hot weather. I would not hesitate to have Clare look after Ty again.”

“Wilf had a great time with Chloe and Anthony. They looked after him for a night and we had updates and photos throughout on walks and at playtime so we knew he was ok and enjoying himself. Wilf would definitely love to stay with them again! Thanks guys x”

“Nikki was absolutely amazing!! She sent pics, videos and updated us daily. I have no doubt in recommending Nikki and will definitely use her again. Our cockapoo had the BEST time!!”

“My dog Marshall went to stay with Karen and her partner at quite short notice. Karen was very accommodating. He had the most wonderful time and was extremely well cared for. I had lots of updates and photos from Karen and she was extremely responsive to messages. I would definitely recommend her to my friends and family and I will definitely use Karen’s services in the future.”

“Both were great, clearly love dogs and know what is needed to take care of a puppy properly! They did a couple of drop ins and had my puppy overnight, I got lots of updates and photos from them Would recommend!”

“Nellie and Lucy had a wonderful stay thank you for all your kindness and care! I wouldn’t hesitate to ask you to look after our two little treasures in future, much appreciated Heather”

“We are over the moon with Sarasa, Alex & Coco. They have welcomed our corgi pup into their home and treat her like one of the family and gave us some really good advice with being new puppy owners. We were put at ease from the first meeting and were confident she would be well looked after. We were actually worried she might not want to come home! She got on really well with coco who is so relaxed and friendly and has met a few more friends throughout the week. We were kept updated with pictures and how she was getting on everyday. We definitely recommend Sarasa and her family and will definitely use her services again when we go on holiday.”

“Imogen was great with Rudy, took him out on walks and gave him lots of cuddles during his stay! Rudy has been shattered today so he must have had a very fun time. Thank you Imogen, would love to book with you again!”

“A massive thank you to Monina and Jordan for looking after our 6 year old cocker spaniel. This was the first time we had ever left Olive with anyone other than family. So we were a little anxious to say the least. Monina and Jordan were amazing, we set a whatsapp group up, both Monina an Jordan gave frequent updates on Olive in the morning, in the evening and during walks. Both went above and beyond to ensure olive settled. Couldn't recommend or thank both enough! Your dog(s) are definitely in safe hands with these two. Thanks again guys!!!!”

Julie has been amazing with Louie, so loving and caring and treated Louie as if he was her own. I was kept updated with photos of Louie which made me leaving him easy. I’m so so thankful for Julie and Pete looking after Louie so well. Would highly highly recommend 5*

We couldn’t be happier with the care Tracy and Dani gave to Teddy and Oscar. They looked after them so well and kept us updated throughout with plenty of lovely photos, which gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear that Teddy and Oscar were treated as part of the family and cared for as if they were their own. They came home happy, content and relaxed, which says everything! We would highly recommend Tracy and Dani and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our boys! ❤️🐾

Five stars for Monina, Jordan & not forgetting little Wesley! First time leaving Busby for a week, and their communication was absolutely second to none. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Even though Busby is a puppy and naturally came with his own issues, they agreed to look after him without hesitation. We loved receiving the various photos and videos they sent us throughout the week. We always knew he was in safe, loving hands, from the moment we did the meet & greet! Thank you guys ❤️

Delighted with the 5* care of our rescue dog Penny. She stayed for 3 weeks and was treated like part of the family with love, cuddles and plenty of walks. Penny had a blast and we had a relaxed holiday knowing she was so well looked after by Debra and Jimmy, we got daily photos and updates too, couldn’t have asked for more!🤩

My 14yr old Dachshund had a weekend stay with Julie following his companion of 12yrs passing away. He was very depressed and not himself at all and I wasnt going to go to my plans initially. I then came across Julie and she seemed so lovely. During the initial visit she was calm and kind and Ziggy seemed right at home. She was sp accommodating when I explained that I had to leave earlier and said it was okay he could go. She sent me regular updates and pictures to reassure me that Ziggy was okay. He looked like he has a smashing time and was cared for very well. He's got a little bit of himself back and I would rebook Julie for future plans 🖤 thankyou

Lauren has looked after our cockapoo Teddy overnight and daycare and comes highly recommended by myself and my family! Nothing is too much trouble and she keeps me updated with messages/ photos and videos of what they get up to. He’s provided with lots of exercise and stimulation and has made a little friend in their dog Dusty!
Friendly and professional. Sarah gave our one year old cocker spaniel Bailey a warm and welcoming home away from home. She was walked, fed and given lots of love. We got a lot of photos and videos of baileys stay, which really helped us feel connected during baileys absence. Highly recommend

Honestly I cannot sing praise here enough. Stasys was super patient with Eevee and she had an amazing time! I loved getting photo updates, communication was fantastic throughout the booking process and her following stay. We ended up stuck on the way home from our trip and Stasys went out of his way to drop Eevee off with a family member just to take some stress off my plate - honestly that was such a big help. If he'll have her, I'll definitely be using again in the future. Absolutely no notes.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
