“Beth and Ross made me feel at ease, as soon as I dropped Snoop off. You can tell they are absolute dog lovers, and snoop took to them instantly. I received plenty of updates and pictures whilst I was away, and they seemed upset to see him go. I will 100% use them when I next need a dog sitter.”

“Amanda is an absolutely fantastic dog boarder. I 1000% recommend her! Buzz had an amazing time and came back very happy! Amanda sent lots of photos and updates and we felt so at ease knowing he was getting the best care. It’s so difficult to find somebody to look after your precious fur baby, they are so precious, but Amanda is that perfect lady to do the job :)”

“Bernard was loved and cared for like he was their own. The updates and comms were fab and we felt at ease knowing Bernard was enjoying his time as much as we were on holiday. Thanks so much!!! We will definitely be booking again.”

“So pleased! A happy dog left and a happy dog came back! We got pictures every day, multiple times a day and reports on his habits and general mood! I can’t recommend Lin highly enough - thanks ever so much for taking care of my little mate so well!”

“Charlize was so lovely and welcoming from the offset, taking the time to do a proper intro with Luna and I, to get to know her and her partner. Luna stayed with Charlize for 4 nights and looked like she had the best time! Charlize asked what level of communication I'd like and went photos across every day. 100% recommend Charlize and will be rebooking as soon as I need her again 😊”

“Amazing couple! We were nervous about leaving our girl Luna but she had a great time! We felt at ease during our meet and greet and were sent lots pictures during her first night stay and she looked very hapy and settled. Thank you so much and I'm sure Luna will be happy to see you again!”

About: We have a 3 year old cocker spaniel Teddy who we’ve raised since a pup he’s the most loving boy and so so playful just looking for others to join us on walks play dates or playing in the garden! I currently work full time but do 3 days from home! Our boy gets walked 3 times a day and so would yours! We love to go out and enjoy sunrise or sunset walks. I have a fenced garden for the dogs to play in, Teddy will be happy to play and keep them company all day! We allow dogs inside, on furniture and upstairs in our home!
“Absolutely can't fault Karen and Trevor, they provided outstanding care for Kallie. At the meet and greet Kallie warmed to them right away, which was a major positive, as she can be wary when meetingnew people. They provided detailed updates with photos, ensuring we felt at ease, and Kallie was so obviously happy with them. I highly recommend Karen and Trevor for anyone needing a reliable and caring dog sitter. We'll definitely bring Kallie back, availability permitting, thank you so much.”

“Gino has had an absolute ball with Andrew and Nicky. He has walked miles exploring new places, visited China Town on the bus and to met all the locals. Highly recommend Andrew and nick to look after your pup. You will be reassured and content knowing your pup is not only looked after but having an adventure as well xxx”

“Alison and the family took good care of Luna over the weekend and even tried teaching new tricks! Not sure Luna wanted to leave when it came to picking her up again. Plenty of updates and pictures sent and would happily use again. Thanks Alison 👍”

“Our Pug Olive stayed with Jamila for 6 days this October. We arranged a pre meet so that Olive could get to know Jamila. While away, we received regular updates with pictures and videos of Olive living her best life! She had regular walks in the countryside and loved going out with Jamila's own dog, Teddy. I couldn't recommend Jamila enough. Olive was loved as much, while boarding as she is at home. We will 100% send Olive back when we go away again. She had her own little holiday. Thank you both for taking such good care of our girl ❤️”

“Maggie had a wonderful weekend with Rachel and Lister, she has had plenty of long walks and Rachel kept us updated with lots of photos. Rachel asked about Maggie's routine and mirrored this in her home too, we have booked her next stay already.”

“Kate was fast to reply to my messages and to answer my questions, and she was kind enough to let Peppa visit before I made a booking. I was a bit apprehensive at how Peppa would settle with a new sitter given she has separation anxiety, but upon arrival it was obvious that she immediately felt at home. Kate kept me updated throughout with pics and messages letting me know how everything was going. Couldn't have asked for more. Thanks very much, Peppa can't wait to come back!”

“I left Fudge with Jade and her lovely family for 5 nights. Had a meet and greet beforehand and Fudge and family were very happy with each other. I received messages and photos from Jade everyday and fudge looked very settled and happy. Fudge is a rescue dog so I was apprehensive about leaving him to go on holiday but I needn’t have been because I could see they he was having a ball with them. Picked him up yesterday and he was happy to see us and I could see that he was very settled in. Would have no hesitation in leaving Fudge with Jade and family and will definitely be booking him in for any other trips/holidays. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him and I will let you know when I need you again ☺️☺️☺️”

“Christine & Ray are a lovely couple and Tyson felt relaxed almost immediately at our meet & greet. He was well looked after, including cuddles during his stay and it was evident in photos and videos that he was very happy. Highly recommended.”

“Kayley and Milly were fantastic with Goose. It was obvious from the start that they really care about the dogs they look after, and Goose settled in straight away :) They took great care of him and kept me updated, which was really appreciated. It was also lovely that Goose got to spend time with their dogs, Mabel and Ralph. They’re both such lovely dogs and Goose clearly had a great time playing with them. Goose came home very happy and well looked after. I’d happily book with Kayley and Milly again and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to look after their dog, thanks so much xx”

Sam was very well cared for in a particularly hot heatwave. He was walked early in the morning to avoid the heat and I’m grateful for that. I received lots of updates during his stay including on walks and when playing. I will definitely use Jamila for boarding again. Thank you.

We’re so happy with the care Molly received! She had such a great time and was really well looked after from start to finish. We got plenty of updates, which gave us real peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. It’s clear she was well cared for and loved while we were away. Highly recommend!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
