We couldn’t be happier with the care Andrew provided for our cat, Phoebe, while we were away. From the very beginning, Andrew was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive to Phoebe’s needs. He kept us updated with photos and messages, which gave us such peace of mind knowing Phoebe was in such caring hands. When we returned, Phoebe was calm, happy, and clearly well looked after — her litter was clean, food and water were fresh, and she even seemed to have enjoyed the extra playtime and cuddles. Andrew went above and beyond, and it made all the difference. We feel so lucky to have found such a reliable and genuinely caring sitter. We highly recommend Andrew to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their furry family members. Thank you again, Andrew — Phoebe can’t wait to see you next time!

About: I have grown up with all kinds of animals from fish, cats, dogs and horses. True animal lover. I have my own pooch who to me is like a child, very spoilt and cared for. I'm now retired and have plenty of time to help fur mummy's or daddy's go to work without worrying about leaving their fur babies for long periods of time. I'm a trustworthy person who will help keep your pet active and comfortable throughout the day 🙂 I'm retired plenty of time to help others get on with their own work or to enjoy free time to do something they like doing best. I have a fenced garden with grassed areas surrounding my home. We go the park lots and the beach when possible. My dog Alfie is very sociable and will mix with other small dogs. He has the run of our home and will sleep on my bed or my lap. He loves his treats and squeaky toys and zoomies!!

About: I’m a registered veterinary nurse and have worked with animals since I was 15. I love walking with my boyfriend’s two cocker spaniels Maggie and Billie and currently have a cat I rescued called Martha. I currently have a few pets on my books that need special care and giving medications too and love looking after any senior dogs and cats. My schedule is flexible and my mum also helps out with pet sitting care when needed. I work shifts but as long as I have notice I’m happy to walk/house sit any days of the week currently as my work can be flexible. Our house is pet friendly and we have quite a large garden that’s all fenced off. We also live with field access outside our home which helps when taking them out for walks

About: I've grown up around animals and have had pets in the house for as long as I can remember, so looking after someone else's dog or cat feels completely natural to me rather than like a job. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits for feeding, fresh water, litter trays and a bit of company, and overnight or house sitting when you're away. I work from home, which means I'm around during the day and pets in my care aren't left on their own for hours at a time. It also makes me genuinely flexible. I can take early mornings, evenings, weekends and short-notice bookings that other sitters often can't. What you can expect from me: I turn up when I say I will, I stick to your pet's normal routine rather than imposing my own, and I'll send photo updates so you can see how they're getting on. Happy to give medication, handle nervous or older animals gently, and take as long as you need over a meet-and-greet first so both you and your pet are comfortable before anything is booked. I work from home, so pet care fits into my day rather than around it. I can do early morning, midday and evening visits without rushing between them, and I'm available weekdays and weekends including short notice, the bookings people with fixed office hours have to turn down. For house sitting I stay at your place for the whole booking, so your pet keeps their normal routine, sleeps in their own bed and isn't left alone overnight. I'll agree exact visit times with you in advance and stick to them. I look after pets in your home only, I don't board animals at mine. That's deliberate: your pet never has to settle into a strange house or meet unfamiliar animals, which takes a lot of the stress out of you going away. In your home I follow your setup exactly: same feeding routine, same food, same rules about which rooms they're allowed in, doors locked and windows shut every time I leave. I'll ask you to walk me through it all at the meet-and-greet and I write it down rather than trusting my memory. Dogs go out on lead and harness unless you've told me otherwise. I treat your keys and alarm code as confidential and never share your address. You'll get a photo and a short update after every visit, so you always know what's happened. If anything concerns me, off their food, limping, just not themselves I'll tell you straight away and I'll have your vet's details to hand.

About: With over six years of hands-on experience working on a petting farm from the age of 14 to 20, I’ve cared for a wide range of animals — from livestock to a variety of dog breeds. Growing up in a dog-loving home, especially with high-energy breeds like collies, has given me a deep understanding of canine behaviour, needs, and personalities. Whether it’s providing calm companionship or active playtime, I’m confident handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I work full time as a teacher but I am free most weekends and evenings! This also means I’m off during school holidays all day so can cater for all pet needs in that time! I have a fenced yard with a border collie. Our home is dog and pet friendly! We live close to good walks for all the doggy walking needs!

About: Hi! I'm a 25 year old university graduate based in Greater Manchester. I have experience with different domestic animals, cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, parrots, and even some insects. I absolutely adore every animal I've cared for and have taken pride in providing a caring and enriching experience for each one. I love learning about each animal and their behaviour to provide them with a fun and comfortable environment whilst their loved ones are away. I have previously owned rabbits, stick insects, a hamster, and I currently have an American bully puppy who is a family pet and does not accompany me on sits. If you have a large dog I only require that they are well behaved on a lead. I’m currently quite flexible and will be focussed on caring for your pets during my time with them, including lots of play time and attention. I like to stick to your pets usual schedule so they experience the least amount of disruption possible. So just let me know what their usual day looks like. I will always look after your home, water plants, take bins out and anything else you may need whilst I’m caring for your pet. I’ll provide as many updates and photos as you’d like to reassure you that your pets are in great hands.

Just wanted to say a big thanks to Yonja, Who was 100% reliable, and kept me updated everyday. My Cat Toby was given his favourite meals/treats twice a day, and looked so well when I arrived home. Yonja was so helpful and polite, I would be more than happy to have her look after Toby again.

About: Hi my name is Martyna and I live in Greater Manchester, Rochdale. My family has a little teddy bear Pomeranian named Ruby for the last 8 years and I lover her SO much. When I was at University I would make my sister send me pictures and video updates on her. I've always loved animals and enjoy spending time with dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I understand that leaving your pet with someone else can be stressful, so I do everything I can to make sure both you and your pet to feel comfortable and at ease. I treat every dog in my care as if they were my own and will make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and cuddles throughout their stay. Whether your dog loves being active or prefers a quieter environment, I'm happy to accommodate their needs and routine. I am committed to providing a safe, loving, and comfortable environment where your dog can feel at home while you're away. I will also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is being well looked after. With new clients, I like to arrange a meet and greet before accepting a booking request to make sure everyone is comfortable and it's a good fit. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend! PROMPT RESPONSES Pet care fits well into my weekly routine as I currently have a flexible schedule. I am due to graduate from university at the end of July and am on a zero-hour contract with a real estate firm, where I am typically booked in on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with additional days depending on workload and auction schedules. Outside of this, I work from home, which gives me a lot of flexibility to provide consistent care, visits, and attention throughout the week. My routine is generally adaptable, so I can plan pet care around existing commitments to ensure I am reliable and punctual. Because of this flexibility, I am able to offer a good level of availability during weekdays and can accommodate regular routines, feeding schedules, and any specific care needs. I prioritise safety, trust, and consistency in both my own home and the owner’s home. I always follow the pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding, exercise, playtime, and any specific care instructions provided. When caring in a client’s home, I am respectful, tidy, and mindful that I am in their pet’s familiar environment. I make sure all doors, windows, and access points are secure before leaving, and I pay close attention to keeping pets safe and comfortable at all times. I take the time to understand each pet’s personality and needs, whether they are more independent or require extra attention and reassurance. I aim to create a calm and stable environment so they feel relaxed while their owner is away. Above all, I treat every pet as if they were my own and every home with care and respect, ensuring owners can feel confident and at ease throughout the booking.

About: I specialise in caring for cats in their own home environment, including shy, anxious, or independent cats. I understand cat body language and always respect their space, routine, and comfort. I’m confident with feeding schedules, litter trays, and giving medication if needed. I am available to work during the weekend. However, during the week days I work from 8:30-4:30. So I cannot do those hours. Weekend is good! I have a secure gate in my house. It is a tall gate. But it is better I take the pet around for walks as I live next to a big field great for walking the dog!!

This is my second time using Zobia and I could not be happier with her service!! I feel so at ease when I know she’s checking on my cat whilst I’m away!! She messaged me to ask if she could leave the tv on for him to make him more comfortable with some background noise whilst I wasn’t there! I love the check ins she does everyday and they are all so in detail with lots of picture updates! I will 100% recommend Zobia for anyone who is like me nervous leaving their cat whilst going away so a massive thank you to Zobia for making me feel at ease!! Xx

I had Nicola look after my little treasure Bella (Tuxedo cat) for four days while I had a short break. Nicola came tor an introductory visit first & Bella who is a timid little girl until she gets to know you, came out as soon as I gave Nicola a couple of treats to give to Bella. I knew then that they would be fine & Bella would be well looked after. Bella was really well looked after & I will certainly be having Nicola again. I am very happy with the care given.

There are 1,699 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in Rochdale. About 92% of Rochdale sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
