About: Hello! I’m new to the pet sitting world, however since moving to Manchester City centre only a couple of weeks ago I’ve already sat for a few of the residents in my building- both cats and dogs. I’ve got experience of previously having my own springer spaniel (crazy but fun!) they definitely prepare you for any situation 🐕 I’ve moved from Bolton to Manchester so I’m still fairly local to ‘home’ where my family cat, Twix is my main highlight when I go back to Bolton, he’s independent and affectionate when he wants to be and I’ve grown up with him so I’m also comfortable around cats too. Would love for the opportunity to look after your pet in a safe and fun environment! I work from home most days and I’m also very flexible when I go to the office making my availability fairly open. Myself and my boyfriend are around each evening and usually free on weekends! I live in an 18th floor, secure apartment within Manchester City centre The apartment features a communal outdoor terrace, is pet friendly- for both cats and dogs It also has a courtyard to play ball/ for dogs to go to the toilet etc and is shaded so very cool especially for this weather. Close to Ancoats marina too which is a gorgeous dog walk!
“Nat looked after Jiraiya again not long after he'd had a dental surgery and I felt very confident leaving him in Nat's care. She always responds to messages super quickly, leaves detailed check-ins, and keeps the flat clean during the drop ins. I would highly recommend her! Thank you again Nat :)”

About: Both my partner and I have been animal lovers all our lives! We've previously used borrowmydoggy, and we jump at any opportunity to mind, walk and play with our friends' pups! I owned 2 cats previously in my family home I work from home two days a week, and my partner is remote 95% of the time so we're really flexible with our schedules depending on what you need. I am also open to house sitting Thurs - Sunday where I can WFH and be available to your pet around the clock! We live in an apartment in Manchester City centre, which is very open plan. I will only take your dog on walks in areas which are pre-approved and follow any specific instructions for looking after your pet very precisely. For doggy day-care, I can provide round-the-clock car, and we have a couple of dog-friendly parks close by that we'd make full use of for any furry guests!

About: I’ve taken care of many animals of all different needs since I can remember, growing up I had three dogs, two of which were rescues, one was a very nervous rescue from Korea, and another eventually became reactive over time due to old age and varying underlying medical conditions, I believe this highlights me as being well equipped for animals that have certain needs and boundaries other sitters may not be able to cater towards. I have also done multiple gigs for pet sitting for family friends, including indoor kittens and outdoor elderly cats. So while only having dogs growing up, I also have enough experience minding cats. I have two part time casual retail jobs, so while I am working away from home, I can still work around you! I always have gaps throughout my week, and I’d be happy to fill them caring for your fur baby! I always update my calendar around when I know I’m working, so you don’t have to worry about it! if I am working for whatever reason, I’ll still be able to find time to look after your pet. I’m a big walker, so I am happy to walk up and down Manchester to look after your fur baby! If your pet needs more attention, I’m more than happy to dedicate a couple hours of my day to sit, play, and keep them company so that they can settle before you come home! I can be as flexible as possible, with the exception around my work, but I’m happy to pop in before or after a shift to ensure the best for your pet and you. I’ve always grown up around animals, and I adore them, so expect to receive a lot of photos and updates of your pet every time I pay them a visit. I also have owned two rescue dogs, three dogs in total, and all three had their own set of needs, one was a nervous rescue, another a clingy rescue who acted like my little shadow, and the other had occasional reactive behaviours, so I’m well adapted to learning and respecting your pets boundaries and behaviours.
“Elena was able to look after my two cats at very short notice and provided great service! I was updated regularly and could see that the cats were being very well cared for whilst I was away.”

About: Hi! I’m Jess (jess_sits_pets_xo) I have grown up around animals and have had the pleasure of owning two cats in my own flat up until recently. I have experience with paid dog walking and dog sitting for up to 1 week for up to 2 dogs at a time in my flat, including Chihuahuas, a Miniature Pinscher and Shih Tzus. This included regular walks, toilet break and regular play times! I am happy to adapt to your pets style of living as I allow cats and dogs on my furniture. I enjoy driving to the countryside for walks and feel it would be great to take a dog along for a walk for the day! I am prepared to spend evenings and weekends walking/housesitting dogs or cats and am reliable and can always be contacted. Currently I work full time, working Tuesday - Thursday in the office. I am usually out of the house from 8:20-18:00 on these days. I work from home every Friday and have Saturday/Sundays free. I do have flexibility with my work from home days so I can see about adjusting my schedule to your pets needs. Happy to work from home at a house sitting and keep your pet company during the day or evening! I offer house sitting services alongside regular pop in visits. As I have my own cat, I can no longer house animals in my own home but am happy to house sit and care for cats or dogs in your own home! This includes emptying cat litter trays, frequent daily visits, sleepovers, taking dogs for regular walks, cleaning up furballs etc. I do have a travel basket for dogs to be clipped into my car too :)

“Kiran has been a god send for me and my dog Jac. He’s an old boy who’s also blind and deaf and she has been so loving and affectionate towards him. Kiran sends me updates when she is with Jac which is highly appreciated. Even the concierge at my apartment block have commented how lovely Kiran is and how much Jac likes her. I highly recommend Kiran. Thank you Kiran.”

“Saffron and George were absolutely incredible at checking in on our cat Jeff over the Christmas period! We were so surprised anyone would even offer to look after him from Xmas Eve- Boxing Day, let alone being so thoughtful and thorough with their visits! This was our first time using this app and it has been such a positive experience, and we hope Saffron and George will check in with Jeff again if we need it in the future! They took lots of pictures and gave us lots of updates on every visit and it really eased our anxiety about leaving him for the first time. We felt like he was in good hands and was looked after really well. Thanks again Saffron and George!!”

“Olivia had been fantastic with our puppy. She has knowledge, patience and great communication. We are also very grateful for the adjustments she’s made in the hot weather. We would highly recommend Olivia :)”

About: Hi! I’m Madeline, based in Manchester city centre (M4), and I’d love to help look after your cats or dogs while you’re away, at work or simply need someone to keep them company 🐾 I’m calm, patient and very comfortable around pets with different personalities, whether they’re confident and affectionate or a little shy and need time to get used to someone new. 🐱 Home visits For cat visits, I’m happy to help with feeding, fresh water, litter trays, treats, playtime and plenty of company. I can also send you photos and updates during each visit so you know how they’re getting on. I’m comfortable looking after multiple cats in the same household and I’m also happy to spend a little extra time with cats who are particularly clingy or simply enjoy having someone around. Morning and evening visits are available depending on your location and the dates required. 🐶 Dogs & companion sitting I’m also happy to care for friendly dogs and can offer longer evening visits where your dog mainly needs someone to stay with them and keep them company. This can work particularly well for dogs who don’t enjoy being left alone. I’m happy to bring my laptop and work quietly from your home while keeping them company if that suits their routine. 🏡 House sitting I can offer overnight stays on selected dates. Please note that I work Monday to Friday from approximately 8:00am–4:30pm, so weekday house sitting is best suited to pets who are comfortable being left during normal working hours. I can return after work, spend the evening with them and stay overnight. 📍 Location I’m based around M4 in Manchester city centre, so Ancoats, Northern Quarter, city centre and nearby areas are particularly convenient for me. Therefore given the distance I would be happy to stay longer if needed or any urgent queries:) i can sometimes travel further depending on the booking, so please feel free to message me with your postcode and I’ll let you know. 🤍 Before your booking I really like arranging a meet-and-greet beforehand whenever possible. It gives me a chance to meet your pet, learn their routine and make sure both you and your pet are comfortable before you go away. Feel free to share more about your pet, their personality and what kind of care you’re looking for. I’m always happy to see if we can find an arrangement that works for both of us 😊 I currently work weekdays from around 8am–4:30pm, so I’m mainly available for pet care in the evenings and on weekends. I can also offer morning visits depending on location. From October onwards, I’m planning to focus on pet sitting much more fully, which means I’ll have greater flexibility for daytime visits, longer sits, evenings and weekends. I’m always happy to discuss your pet’s routine and see what schedule works best for both of us. When caring for pets in their own home, I always try to keep their normal routine as consistent as possible. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully and make sure food, water, litter trays and the home are kept clean and tidy. I’m happy to arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand so your pet can get comfortable with me and you can show me everything I need to know. I also send regular photos and updates while you’re away so you know how your pet is doing. I’m patient with shy pets and will always give them space rather than forcing interaction.
“Venus was great with my two cats whilst I was on holiday for a week - both were very happy and she sent videos and updates every day which I appreciated! Will definitely use her again next time I go away 😻”

“Irene did a brilliant job watching my two cats. She communicated well, gave nice photo and written updates and both cats seemed to enjoy her company. She was also very kind and helpful especially when we had to unexpectedly add on an additional check in. Thanks so much, we’d be happy to book her again.”

“Joanna was amazing with our lively boy Ernie. She kept his routine and made sure to have plenty of playtime, which we always got pictures of. She gave an update every visit so we always knew how he was doing. Highly recommend if you need someone to give your cats lots of love whilst you're away!”

I’m also happy to arrange a quick meet and greet beforehand so you and your dog feel completely comfortable. Feel free to message me with any questions — I’d love to meet you and your dog! 🐾 I work fully remote and can work my own hours so very flexible! I’m happy to be flexible where possible and will always make sure your dog gets the attention, exercise and care they need. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walking routines and any special care needs. “Elizabeth was a fantastic cat sitter for my Princess, she turned up everyday and looked after her. I felt totally at ease whilst on my holiday and I knew I didn't have to worry about my cat. I would recommend Elizabeth and I will definitely book her again, 10 out 10 for Elizabeth”

“Phoebe was amazing! It made me feel so relaxed and happy to know Kenzo was in good hands. He doesn't trust easy but he warmed up to Phoebe very quickly! She is also very thorough, following all instructions, communicates well and sends lots of pictures and videos. I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Sam looked after Bibi with attention and care, handling his meds without problems and staying at my flat while I was away for a week. It only took Sam a day or two to make friends with Bibi who is very shy around strangers! !”

About: I have been a devoted pet lover from a young age, growing up with two dogs — a Maltese and a Yorkshire Terrier — which gave me a deep understanding of canine behaviour and needs. I have also been a cat owner since 2023, caring for two beautiful cats, a Ragdoll and a Golden British Shorthair. This experience has taught me to understand different pet personalities and provide attentive, loving care. Friends and family have trusted me to look after their pets, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I take pride in keeping owners updated with regular photos and messages, so you can enjoy your time away with complete peace of mind. As a full-time pet sitter, I am available 7 days a week with no other work or study commitments. Your pet will receive my complete attention throughout the day. I will follow their usual feeding schedule, play with them regularly, and ensure they feel comfortable and settled in their own home environment. I provide care exclusively in your own home, which means your pet stays in a familiar and stress-free environment with all their favourite toys, bedding and routines. I treat every pet as my own, with the same love and attention I give to my two cats. I will keep all doors and windows secure, follow any specific instructions you leave, and send regular photo and video updates throughout the day so you always know your pet is happy and safe.

Kelsey is really lovely, she was amazingly communicative and provided excellent care for my two boys. She sent lots of pictures and videos which was amazing as I could see how well they were being cared for- I didn’t have a single worry while being away. Couldn’t recommend her more! Will definitely hope book her again in the future. Thank you Kelsey.

Irene was brilliant! Really friendly and thorough during the meet and great to make sure she had all the relevant information for when we were away. Irene also gave us detailed updates each visit and lots of photos which we really appreciated! We have already booked Irene again 😀

From cuddles to kitten chaos (zoomies), I don’t think I could’ve found a better person to care for my cat! Georgia was understanding, caring and kind I’m so happy I chose her to look after my fur baby, whilst I took my first holiday as a pet owner. She went above and beyond for Darcy and I couldn’t recommend her enough! The photos taken were amazing I even sent them to friends and family. There was clearly a mutual love between my cat and Georgia. I was so glad I could relax knowing she was being properly looked after. I’ll definitely be coming to her when I need someone to look after my cat again! 🐾🩷🎀

Layla was great at looking after my cat! She kept me updated throughout, which gave me great peace of mind. My cat is very shy and usually hides, but he even made an appearance for Layla eventually, which definitely shows how comfortable he was with her! She was caring, reliable and I’ll definitely use her again.

We couldn't have asked for better cat sitters than Elsie and Olivia. They looked after our cat Luna while we were away on holiday, and we felt completely reassured from the moment they started their visits. They sent us a lovely detailed update every single day, along with loads of photos and videos, which was so reassuring and genuinely made being away much easier. It was obvious from their updates that they weren't just coming in to feed Luna, but were actually spending time with her, playing with her, giving her lots of attention and making sure she was happy and comfortable. They were incredibly thoughtful and attentive throughout. They kept her food and water fresh, cleaned her bowls and litter tray, kept the surrounding area tidy, and changed her litter and cleaned the tray more thoroughly when needed. They also brought their own toys and even watered our plants for us while we were away. Most importantly, Luna absolutely loved them. Every day we got updates about her purring, playing, showing her belly, running around and happily greeting them when they arrived. By the end of the holiday, it was very clear that she had become quite fond of them! Elsie and Olivia were reliable, caring, communicative and genuinely lovely throughout. We came home to a very happy cat, which is exactly what you hope for when leaving your pet in someone else's care. We would absolutely recommend them and will definitely be asking them to look after Luna again. Thank you both so much! 🐈⬛💕

Kat was great with our cat, she kept us informed throughout our time away which we really appreciated. She both fed, watered and cleaned his litter tray and took time to play with him and make the cat comfortable around her. I'd highly recommend her services, we felt our cat was in great hands!

Grace looked after our baby Koa she’s a very shy Maine coon who struggles around new people. However, after such a short time she came out of her shell when she met Grace. We both had never left her before but Grace kept us updated with constant pictures of our baby. My wife was very anxious with the hot weather and Grace even stayed for longer. She’s an amazing person and the best cat sitter you could possibly find. We definitely will be using her services again. Koa has made a new friend 😊

Lizzie took great care of the cats whilst we were away for 2 week holiday, wasn't phased when I mentioned 1 of the cats would likely have accidents outside of litter tray due to age when she visited for handover/keys. Had daily messages confirming all was well. Came back home to two content cats. Would happily rebook Lizzie again.

Joanna is great. Usually I am a bit distracted on my trips wondering how our two cats are holding up without us. Joanna’s full updates included basics like how the food/water/litter was going, but also if the cat sat with, on, or near her, how they coped with the heat wave, if they wanted to play or not, etc. These details made it easier to tell they’re perfectly happy and not merely surviving, which made the holiday much nicer. Worth every penny!

Heidi is absolutely amazing with Ronnie, and that’s obvious from how happy he looks in all the update photos and videos 😊 she always updates me thoroughly and asks any questions she may have to ensure she’s keeping him as happy as possible. She goes above and beyond with her care, especially on this occasion where she went back to see Ron last minute. I am super grateful for Heidi and I wouldn’t go to anyone else (unless she was unfortunately all booked up!!). Thank you again ❤️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
