Our first cat-sitting experience and we are so pleased Elizabeth picked us. Phoenix was very well looked after and he is happy. We cannot recommend Elizabeth enough for all her patience, efficiency, hard-work and dedication.

About: Registered veterinary nurse for 10 years. Throughout my course, I have helped clients animals with diabetes, cushings syndrome etc. if your animal needs to be given medication. Currently I am doing a course from home in veterinary and teaching. So I am flexible around catering for the animal and their needs as best I can. My garden is fenced with a pathway for more nervous animals that struggle socialising. There is also a park one minute walk away, that is normally fairly quiet for them. All furniture in the house is okay for them to sit and sleep on.

About: From being a teenager I have looked after family and neighbours pets when needed. Anything from birds & hamsters to cats & dogs, I have looked after it. I have previously owned a cat and currently own a bulldog. I work from home in Offerton most of the time and am looking for somw furry friends to help fill the gaps between meetings or outside of work hours. Peter was friendly, professional and really goes the extra mile for the pups he cares for. We are really grateful that our puppy Stephen got to spend some time with him today (especially as it was last minute) and would absolutely recommend. The care and attention Peter puts into his bookings is so lovely. Thank you Peter!!!

About: I've been an animal person since I was really young but never had a dog or cat over because mum is allergic. My husband and I adopted a rescue dog the year we were married and it was the best thing we ever did. Since then, we've opened our homes and hearts to several rescues, fosters, and furry boarders! Rest assured, your fur baby will be pampered spoilt at ours! I work part-time and spend a few days of the week working from home, and my husband travels on work once or twice a week, so we are available to board most days of the week. Additionally I am VTQ certified in Advanced Pet first aid, so your pet is in safe hands, should it ever be needed. Our home is a large enough space for your fur baby to run around free. We also have a 6 and a half year old rescue indie-spitz who would love to make new play mates!

About: Hi, I’m Keri! 👋 I am a lifelong animal lover who grew up in a busy, pet-filled household in South Africa, and I've been living here in the UK for the last few years. From massive, lovable Rottweilers and energetic German Shepherds to gentle Maltese Poodles, Labradors, and rescue cats, I have spent my entire life surrounded by animals of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. My background includes caring for a wide range of dog breeds and cats, many of which were rescues, and each with unique personalities and needs. This experience has given me the ability to quickly adapt and provide tailored care for any pet. I know how tough it can be to leave your furry family members behind, so my absolute priority is to provide a safe, comfortable, and affectionate environment where they can thrive until you get back. I currently work in a hybrid setting. This means that I have the flexibility to work from the comfort of your pets home to keep them company during the day. Alternatively, I'm available to sleep in Thursday to Monday or do evening check-ins during the week. For me, exceptional pet care comes down to consistency, safety, and open communication. Every pet has a unique personality and history, especially rescues, and I easily adapt my approach to make them feel comfortable and happy. * **Secure Environment:** I have a fully secured garden with a 6-foot fence, offering a safe space for dogs to enjoy time outside. * **Respecting Routines:** I strictly mirror your pet's existing feeding, exercise, and sleep schedules to minimize separation anxiety. * **Safety & Security:** I treat your home with the utmost respect, ensure all gates and doors are secured, and keep dogs strictly on-leash during walks unless in a designated enclosed area. * **Peace of Mind:** I provide regular photo updates so you always know how they are doing. Ultimately, my goal is to provide a calm, structured environment filled with lots of love and cuddles, giving you total peace of mind while you are away.

I love all pets as my own and they are definitely made to be part of the family. I have a 16 Yr old boy who to loves animals. I love walking we have lovely parks close by. My son will not be walking or looking after just me. I work from home whilst my son is at school so always with the animals when needed I have breaks for walks and plenty cuddles. About: We got our first family dog when I was about 8 years old. When I was about 14 we adopted Mickey, aged 2 - the family dog who sadly passed last year, aged 19. Since then my family had Pablo, an energetic Sprocker Spaniel. And my partner and I have had our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Copper, for 6 years from being a puppy. I regularly care for Pablo when my parents are on holiday, and have looked after friends dogs in the past. I'm working from home typically 2 days a week. On the days I'm in work, my dog will be looked after by friends or parents. My daily routine when working from home consists of a 45 minute walk first thing in the morning to the local park - usually 7.30/8am - and if the dog is up for it, the same in the late afternoon. I have a small secure garden which is padlocked at the back. I don't leave my dog unsupervised outside and just let him out for the toilet. I work upstairs in the spare room - so I just put the dogs bed next to my desk where he likes to sit. He will go down and get water when he needs it.

About: Dogs have been in my family since I was born. As such, I have a knack for being playful yet can apply firm instruction when needed. I have a calm disposition and feel that dogs can sense this and respond well to it. I am here to give your pet the care and attention they diserve, meaning walks and play but also creating a relaxing atmosphere and cuddles too. I run my own business out of my home and so can work pet care vary easily into my routine and am very flexible. I have a car and so distance isn't an issue either. I am always the first to dog/cat sit for friends when they're away. I have a mix of toys and treats that I bring with me every time I take care of a pet but if they have a favourite toy, the better. I take my time, treating every pet as an individual and every sit seriously. I look forward to getting to know each animal and their personality every time I sit for one.

About: I have always had a dog growing up. It all began with a red nose pitbull names Monique and now I have my rescue dog Roscoe. I have experience with dogs of all sizes. I have spent some time assisting my friend who is a professional dog walker in London. I have experience with reactive dogs. Roscoe was highly strung and very anxious when we first got him, we've learned a lot and did a lot of training with him. Now he happily plays with lots of other dogs in our area. Edit: Our sweet boy Roscoe has now passed. I'm a full-time yoga teacher and I am available most days 9-5 when you're working. I also some weekend availability with advanced notice. I'm here to help. Ailsa looked after Lucy on really short notice. She came to do a meet and greet on an extremely quick timescale and looked after our dog for us a couple of days later. Our dog can be a handful and has very particular needs and Ailsa really understood what we needed and what our dog needed too. She really put us at ease and did a fantastic job. We came home to a very chilled out and tired dog who seemed to have had a great time. She kept us updated and sent photos too, which was very reassuring for us as this is the first time we have left her with anyone that isn’t family. Will definitely be using again and I would highly recommend.

Natalie provided excellent care for our two cats while we were away. She was cool under pressure; when one of the girls refused to come back in, she waited patiently for me to reply with the secret to ensuring compliance (meaty sticks). Then when the latch on our front door broke, she was able to figure out a solution and kept us informed of what was going on. On top of all this, she petted, played and cleaned up after the girls, kept my potted plants alive and was generally lovely to interact with.

Rita was absolutely amazing with Tinkerbell. She sent lots of photos and videos and let me know at each visit if Tinker had eaten or not. Tinker is 17 and Rita looked after her during the heatwave, she opened door and windows whilst at the house to get fresh air in to make it more comfortable for Tinker. She truly was amazing and I will 100% ask her to look after Tinker again.

But clare really put us at ease. I really liked that she came to visit before the booking and was really thorough in checking little details. She made us feel so comfortable leaving our cats in her hands. We ended up having to extend our booking last minute and clare easily amended this for us. Nothing was too much trouble. FAQs for Drop-In Visits - Stockport

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Cat Sitting in Stockport on Rover is £13.8 per Visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 1,695 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in Stockport. About 91% of Stockport sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
