“Chloe and Ant looked after Rusty for us today and they were absolutely incredible with him. Rusty is a foreign rescue who has only been in the country for 8 months, and hes not a big fan of being away from his Mum and Dad but of course that need arises sometimes! Chloe and Ant have been absolutely amazing and so incredibly patient with him. I was a bit nervous myself leaving him in the care of someone else, but I had no need to be. Chloe kept us updated with how he was getting on too which gave me peace of mind! We couldn't have asked for a better experience and we will definitely be rebooking ☺️ Rusty is now fast asleep on the floor after an epic day! Thank you both so much x”

“Took great care of our little puppy Bowie on our wedding day, provided us with updates throughout the day meaning we didn’t have to worry about him at all. Would definitely let Bowie stay here again if we ever needed to use the service.”

“Samantha was absolutely wonderful with Lady, our 11-year-old dog, during her 10-day stay. Because Lady is an older girl, we naturally worry a bit more when we're away, but Samantha completely set our minds at ease with regular 'pupdates' and photos. Lady seemed to really enjoy her stay and came home happy and relaxed. We couldn't have asked for better care and would highly recommend Samantha to anyone!”

“Lottie settled into her stay quickly and came back home much more relaxed than she does when she returns from a stay in kennels. I was sent regular photos and feedback of how she was doing. 100% recommend!”

“Absolutely fabulous sitter! Would absolutely send our boy again. Really responsive to messages and was super flexible for us. We felt really comfortable leaving our strong Labrador here knowing he would be safe and looked after! Thank you!”

About: I’ve loved dogs from a young age, having a dog of my own growing up, and I still regularly care for my family’s dogs. This has given me plenty of hands-on experience with different personalities, routines, and needs. I’m caring, responsible, and patient, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m happy to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, cuddles, and companionship while making sure their usual routine is followed. I’m also comfortable caring for both young and senior pets and understand that puppies may need extra patience and supervision, while older dogs may benefit from a slower pace, extra comfort, and attentive care. Most importantly, I want every pet to feel safe, happy, and loved while they’re in my care. I'm currently unemployed so I'm available all week. I usually have personal plans on Saturday afternoons but I'm completely free beyond that. I live in a comfortable flat in a safe, pet-friendly area, with a large park just a short walk away. This gives pets a great balance of a calm home environment and plenty of opportunity for walks, exercise, and fresh air. I always prioritise safety and make sure pets feel comfortable and settled in my care. I’m happy to follow their usual routines, including feeding times, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions from their owner. I also understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to make them feel relaxed and cared for in a new environment. Whether caring for a pet in my home or visiting them in their own home, I treat their space, belongings, and routines with respect. I’ll keep owners updated and make sure they can feel confident that their pet is safe, happy, and well looked after.
“Michael is as fantastic as ever, Tinkerbell loves him and he is her home from home! Can’t recommend him enough! We’ve already got a further three bookings with him (December 25, June and September 26) we work around his dates as he is so booked up! He is the best!”

About: Lifelong pet lover with experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, and needs, including senior and post-surgery care. I'll treat your pet like family. My fiancé, Darnell, and I work from home with flexible hours, providing plenty of walks, play, cuddles and companionship. Safe transport available for adventures with your pet, too. Secure fenced garden, no other household pets unless agreed beforehand, and I'm happy to follow your pet's routine, preferences, and care instructions exactly.
“Ashley was fantastic with Sunday, took great care of her with lots of play and walks and was happy to administer some additional meds Sunday had recently been prescribed. Communication was really good and Ashley kept me posted with lots of updates and pictures - look forward to Sunday coming to stay again ❤️”

“This was our first time boarding with Palash as our regular boarders were unavailable. Palash was absolutely amazing and took care of our dog very well. He was also very accommodating with a last moment change in pick up schedule. Our dog had a wonderful time and we will definitely go back in future.”

“Clive had the best time staying with Emilia, he’s never stayed with anyone other than family before so I was really nervous when looking for someone to mind him. I met Emilia a couple of days before he was due to stay and my mind was instantly put at ease. Emilia is very friendly and has a beautiful home, I knew Clive was going to be well looked after. I was kept updated throughout the time he was there with pictures & messages. Her dog is also very friendly and safe to say that Clive sulked the whole way home as Mavis had became his new bestie. Thank you again Emilia, I couldn’t have found anyone better to take care of my baby.”

“Derek enjoyed his stay with Zaria again. Zaria took the time to phone me even though we were in a different country to let me know he had been a little poorly. She very kindly bought chicken and white rice which settled his tummy. Thank you again Zaria will definitely book with you again for our next holidays. 😊”

“Absolutely brilliant! They took great care of Shangool and sent us lots of pictures and videos . My cat was so happy staying with them. They followed all the instructions perfectly and reassured me whenever I had any further requests. I will definitely rebook with them in the future. Many thanks to Afshin and his family it was a pleasure!”

About: I’ve always had dogs in my family and have loved caring for them from a young age. I’ve also regularly looked after friends’ and neighbours’ dogs, so I’m comfortable with dogs of different personalities, sizes and needs. I’m reliable, patient and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I’ll treat every dog in my care as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, happy and well looked after. I’m available for pet care on weekends, as well as Mondays and Tuesdays, giving me plenty of time to provide your pet with lots of attention, exercise and companionship. “Linda looked after our Jackhuahua, Bella, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We received constant photo pupdates which gave us complete peace of mind, and it was clear Bella was having the best time in Linda’s lovely home. She came back happy, relaxed, and well looked after. We’ll definitely be booking with Linda again - highly recommend!”

“It was our first time using Bianca and Chloe after a last-minute booking due to unforeseen circumstances, and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. They were both so welcoming, and from the moment I arrived and met their gorgeous and very friendly dog Otis, I knew Jess was in great hands. We got loads of updates throughout her stay with texts, photos and videos, which really put our minds at ease. Jess came home absolutely shattered from all the fun she’d had! We’ll definitely be using Bianca and Chloe again and couldn’t recommend them more! Thank you for taking such good care of our girl! 🥰”

“Beth looked after our 2 Cavapoos for a night. She was great - the boys settled well at her house and were well looked after, she sent pics of their stay and kept us well informed. Will definitely be using again. Thanks so much!”

Judith was wonderful with our 4 month old pup, Artie. She was great at communicating before the stay, very attentive to his needs when we dropped him off and sent regular updates. Artie got regular walks, was constantly played with and fussed and generally treated like royalty - loved it. I would highly recommend Judith to anyone, she was fantastic and the only problem was I don't think Artie wanted to leave he loved it that much! Thank you Judith for taking such good care of him.

We had such a great experience with Anna-Rita. She was quick to respond and really easy to arrange a date with. She was also more than happy to accommodate a trial night with our puppy, which gave us great peace of mind. Throughout the stay, Anna-Rita sent us lots of wonderful photos and kept us regularly updated. She was positive, friendly and so easy to communicate with which made the whole experience completely stress-free. We would 100% recommend Anna-Rita and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!

Really grateful for Gemma and her partner looking after Ted for a few days. From the initial communication and visiting their home for a meet and greet, they made myself and Ted feel very welcome and I knew he would be well looked after. Regular updates and photos during the stay, even asking if ok to give him a bath after a muddy walk and it was good to hear Ted was enjoying his stay throughout. I was very happy to hear that Gemma and her partner loved having him stay and enjoyed his company and sounds like a small bond was formed even in such a short time. I’d definitely have no hesitation in letting Ted stay with this couple again in the future if the chance arose. Thanks so much again for looking after Ted, it is really appreciated!
Sarasa looked after Carlo for 8 nights whilst we were on holiday and we couldn’t be happier. It was our first time leaving him without a family member for that long and we were completely reassured by regular updates and photos. Sarasa gave him regular walks and kept up with his medications. Thank you!

This is the second time that our dog Leo has stayed with Sarah. When Sarah came to pick him up Leo recognised her immediately and jumped on the couch to welcome her. Sarah is a lovely girl and is very professional and knowledgeable when dealing with dogs. My wife and I would strongly recommend Sarah having seen how Leo enjoyed his stay. We had no concerns whatsoever. A 5 star sitter for sure.

We went away for a couple of weeks and were a little worried about the length of time we were leaving Forrest, however having met Grag prior to booking he instantly put us at ease. Communication was great in the lead up to Greg looking after Forrest and he was happy to arrange another meet up before the stay just so Forrest was a bit more at ease when we dropped him off. Greg kept us updated throughout the two weeks and Forrest seemed to genuinely look happy and relaxed throughout which meant we could enjoy our holiday without worrying about the little fella. Would definitely use Greg again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for dog sitting.

Beau had a great stay with Anna. We did a pre-meet and I was clear about what he is used to, to make sure Anna was happy to accommodate Beau’s needs. From the moment we walked in, I knew Beau would be given care and love. Anna’s communication was excellent. Would recommend without hesitation.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
