“My dog went to caitlin for 2 nights earlier this week, after an initial meet and greet a few days before. She asked lots of questions to get as much information about cody before his stay, to get to know his routines, and to make it more comfortable for him. She provided updates with photos of him on walks etc and just chilling, reassuring me that he felt comfortable in their home and in their company. Would let him stay again.”

“Sarah was very accommodating and followed my instructions for looking after leo. He settled at her place very quickly. I was very surprised and will be using her again”

“Samantha was absolutely wonderful with Lady, our 11-year-old dog, during her 10-day stay. Because Lady is an older girl, we naturally worry a bit more when we're away, but Samantha completely set our minds at ease with regular 'pupdates' and photos. Lady seemed to really enjoy her stay and came home happy and relaxed. We couldn't have asked for better care and would highly recommend Samantha to anyone!”

“Michael is not only amazing and gifted with dogs , he’s also great in every other way! So loving and accommodating to my rottie which not everyone is, perfect to communicate with, amazing pictures and updates to ease our mind whilst we’re away from our pup, I wouldn’t ever wish to leave my boy with anyone better than Michael. There’s a reason he’s so booked up. Thank you x 100”

“I was so nervous about leaving Valley for the first time, but I really didn’t need to be. Bianca and Chloe have a lovely, clean, modern, and calm home. They kept us reassured every step of the way with regular photos and updates. We’ll definitely be booking again!”

“Jenni and her lovely family took Jupiter for a weekend while we were away. From the minute you meet Jenni you get a feeling that she has a real passion for dogs. She made sure Jupiter and her dog Biscuit had a gentle introduction to each other, Biscuit is really chilled and both dogs settled really well with each other. Jenni kept me updated throughout the weekend with lots of pictures and videos. Thanks again Jenni, hope we will see you again soon 😀”

“Clive had the best time staying with Emilia, he’s never stayed with anyone other than family before so I was really nervous when looking for someone to mind him. I met Emilia a couple of days before he was due to stay and my mind was instantly put at ease. Emilia is very friendly and has a beautiful home, I knew Clive was going to be well looked after. I was kept updated throughout the time he was there with pictures & messages. Her dog is also very friendly and safe to say that Clive sulked the whole way home as Mavis had became his new bestie. Thank you again Emilia, I couldn’t have found anyone better to take care of my baby.”

“Wonderful I booked with Ashley as my usual lady wasn’t available and I met with a different person ( not off rover) and didn’t find them fitting. I have an oversized lap dog ( choc lab). Ashley was warm and welcoming accepted initial bull in a china shop welcome and sent me videos and photos of him which made me leaving him so much more easier. Would highly recommend, and will hopefully be booking in again.”

About: Hi, I’m Keri! 👋 I am a lifelong animal lover who grew up in a busy, pet-filled household in South Africa, and I've been living here in the UK for the last few years. From massive, lovable Rottweilers and energetic German Shepherds to gentle Maltese Poodles, Labradors, and rescue cats, I have spent my entire life surrounded by animals of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. My background includes caring for a wide range of dog breeds and cats, many of which were rescues, and each with unique personalities and needs. This experience has given me the ability to quickly adapt and provide tailored care for any pet. I know how tough it can be to leave your furry family members behind, so my absolute priority is to provide a safe, comfortable, and affectionate environment where they can thrive until you get back. I currently work in a hybrid setting. This means that I have the flexibility to work from the comfort of your pets home to keep them company during the day. Alternatively, I'm available to sleep in Thursday to Monday or do evening check-ins during the week. For me, exceptional pet care comes down to consistency, safety, and open communication. Every pet has a unique personality and history, especially rescues, and I easily adapt my approach to make them feel comfortable and happy. * **Secure Environment:** I have a fully secured garden with a 6-foot fence, offering a safe space for dogs to enjoy time outside. * **Respecting Routines:** I strictly mirror your pet's existing feeding, exercise, and sleep schedules to minimize separation anxiety. * **Safety & Security:** I treat your home with the utmost respect, ensure all gates and doors are secured, and keep dogs strictly on-leash during walks unless in a designated enclosed area. * **Peace of Mind:** I provide regular photo updates so you always know how they are doing. Ultimately, my goal is to provide a calm, structured environment filled with lots of love and cuddles, giving you total peace of mind while you are away.
“I can’t thank Palash enough for stepping in last minute and taking such great care of Ronnie. Anyone who knows me knows Ronnie isn’t just a pet, he’s my whole world, so leaving him with someone new isn’t something I take lightly. From the start, Palash was incredibly thorough, asking plenty of questions about Ronnie’s behaviour, daily routine, food, and toilet breaks. It really showed he genuinely cared about making sure Ronnie felt comfortable and settled. He also kept me regularly updated, which gave me real peace of mind knowing Ronnie was happy and safe throughout. Hearing that Ronnie was a delight meant everything to me. As long as Ronnie is happy, I’m happy. I’d definitely use Palash again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone reliable, caring, and attentive.”

About: I have grown up around dogs and understand the love, attention and consistency they need. Although I currently have no pets of my own, this is ideal for dogs staying with me as they will receive my full attention and won’t need to share space with other animals. I grew up with an Irish Doodle (a cross between an Irish Red Setter and a Poodle) and have also spent a lot of time around Vizslas, giving me experience with active, intelligent and affectionate breeds. I am comfortable caring for dogs of different sizes, ages and personalities, and will ensure every dog feels safe, happy and well cared for while in my home. I have a flexible schedule and am able to work from home when required, allowing me to provide plenty of attention, companionship and supervision throughout the day. I can adapt my routine to meet your pet’s needs, whether that means regular walks, playtime, feeding schedules or simply keeping them company. I am available on both weekdays and weekends and will ensure your pet receives the care, attention and affection they deserve while staying with me. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing are my top priorities. I live in a clean, pet-friendly home with a secure fenced garden, providing a safe outdoor space for exercise and play. As I currently have no pets of my own, visiting pets can enjoy a calm environment and receive plenty of one-to-one attention. I will follow your pet’s usual routine, including feeding, exercise and any special requirements, to help them feel comfortable, secure and at home throughout their stay.
“Sara has been an exceptional carer for our Border Terrier Billy when we took a 5 day break last week. With 2 small dogs of her own they were great play pals for Billy. We got photos and videos sent throughout our time away. It was clear that Billy was being well looked after, and having a great time when out on his walks and in Sara's home. It has a secure garden, and Sara being at home all day she can devote her complete attention to the welfare of your dog. If you want peace of mind when holidaying I can thoroughly recommend leaving your dog in the care of this kind, pleasant and competent lady. And note, she sets her fee at an affordable and fair level. No more kennels for Billy. Sara is now our go-to person for Billy's care when we're away.”

“Was lovely to leave Luca and be worry free. He had lots of new friends to play with and was treated as one of the family. Would definitely recommend and will take Luca there in the future. Carol was very patient and accommodating as we were 2 hours late with dropping Luca off and then picked him up early.”

“I cannot thank Chrissie and her lovely family enough for taking such good care of our dog, Dexter. I was kept regularly informed with photos and videos of what they were getting up to and it helped to see him looking so settled and happy. He was so well looked after and I would absolutely send him again. Thank you so much Chrissie, family and pooches for making him so welcome xx”

“Dua is extremely responsible, calm and reliable. I trust her completely . My cat was treated so well and quickly became one of the family members I would feel very comfortable leaving my cat Lily with her gain and again. I do extremely recommend Dua 🌟🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Thank you very much”

“Tandy had a great time staying with Rebecca! She communicated really well and sent great updates so that we knew he was doing ok while we were gone. Will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Beth looked after our 2 Cavapoos for a night. She was great - the boys settled well at her house and were well looked after, she sent pics of their stay and kept us well informed. Will definitely be using again. Thanks so much!”

“Nicola was absolutely fantastic with Nellie this weekend! From the moment we dropped her off, I felt completely at ease. Nicola kept me updated with lovely messages and photos, and it was clear that Nellie was happy, relaxed, and getting plenty of attention. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with Nicola again — highly recommend!”

Just wanted to say how welcoming and caring Becky has been towards Luna during her stay. She has kept us informed and updated and provided some lovely photos to reassure us while a UK heatwave was in place. Luna is a larger dog and Becky was wonderful looking after her and we couldn't recommend her highly enough, and she will be our first call for any other stays.

Jaz and Callum provided exceptional care for our two dogs, truly treating them as if they were their own. Their consistent communication, along with regular updates and photos, offered us complete peace of mind throughout the stay. Additionally, arranging a meet-and-greet a week prior was incredibly beneficial, ensuring our dogs felt entirely comfortable and at home from day one. We highly recommend them—thank you both so much! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We needed someone to look after Martha pretty last minute and we really pleased when we met Robyn and her German shepherd Bella for a meet and greet. Martha has just spent 3 days playing almost non-stop, and Robyn kept us up to date with photos and videos. Will rebook again and definitely recommend!

Ashely was absolutely amazing in looking after our dog, Rory. We felt so relieved to know our baby was in safe hands whilst we were away. We received lots of updates and pictures of Rory which we throughly enjoyed. Thank you so much for taking care of Rory. We really appreciate it x

Keri was absolutely amazing looking after our puppy, Pablo. It was clear from the moment we picked him up that he’d been so well cared for and had a fantastic time. Pablo can be quite excitable and energetic, but Keri was brilliant with him. He came home happy, relaxed and clearly very comfortable in her care. We received updates while we were away, which gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our holiday knowing he was in safe hands. It’s obvious that Keri genuinely loves animals and treats them as if they were her own. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable and trustworthy dog sitter. Thanks Keri, for taking such wonderful care of Pablo!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
