“Marley had an absolutely brilliant time with Sarasa. She went above and beyond for us and even brought Marley to visit us on our wedding day, which we were so grateful for! During his stay, Sarasa took Marley on so many beautiful walks and sent us loads of photos and videos of Marley having a great time! He got lots of cuddles and was so relaxed and happy when we picked him up. Sarasa’s dog Coco was also a beautiful girl and seemed to get on really well with Marley. We would absolutely use Sarasa again and can’t thank her enough for agreeing to help us with our special request. Thank you so much! X”

“Ella had a great time during her stay with Karen. Karen sent regular updates and was keen to know about Ella’s routine to make sure she was happy! Will use again, thanks Karen”

“Filipa took excellent care of Oscar while we were away, being very considerate of his additional needs. I was kept updated throughout with check ins, photos and videos. Oscar had a great time, and he’d be happy to stay again. Thank you”

“Thanks again Ruth for your great job looking after Coco. She clearly enjoys staying with you and your family and very much enjoys the walks and playing in your garden. She has again come home with us very calm and happy.”

“I’m so grateful to have found Michael. My booking was very short notice but he was so lovely and reassuring as it was the first time I’d left the pup with someone I didn’t know. I got updates which put my mind at ease and Michael reassured me as it was clear that I was quite nervous!! Sue is booked in with Michael again in a few days and I’m going to be able to relax knowing he’s in such great hands! Cannot recommend Michael highly enough!! See you in a few days and thank you so much!!!☺️”

“My dog Lola, has just left Lisa’s home after spending her first full week in her care. I was kept fully updated every day with texts and photos. Lola had as much fun on her holiday as we did on ours, and I highly recommend Lisa as a dog carer and lovely person. Xx”

“My dog went to caitlin for 2 nights earlier this week, after an initial meet and greet a few days before. She asked lots of questions to get as much information about cody before his stay, to get to know his routines, and to make it more comfortable for him. She provided updates with photos of him on walks etc and just chilling, reassuring me that he felt comfortable in their home and in their company. Would let him stay again.”

“Max absolutely loved his few days with Jenni, Biscuit & family! Came home one very happy and relaxed boy. He got lots of attention, walks and we had great picture updates whilst we were away. Thankyou!☺️”

“Thank you for looking after Buddy….hes not used to staying away but seemed to enjoy himself with the other dogs and settled into his holiday home! With lots of space and freedom to wonder around. It’s clear Carol cares for each individual dog understanding their unique needs and personalities. We would definitely use Carol again and highly recommend.”

“When someone just makes you feel at ease and you trust in them to enjoy your pet, it is such a blessing, especially when you are just about to go away on holiday. That’s exactly what Estifania did, thank you. Lots of nice little updates and photos of walks and cuddles. She went above and beyond getting Pablo back home, which I really appreciate. I would 100% recommend her service and will no doubt be rebooking on future occasions.”

“We went away for the week and to say that we had anxiety about leaving lady with someone is an understatement. However, we definitely didn’t need to worry. We knew from the moment we met Bianca and Chloe at the meet and greet that we had made the right decision. They kept us fully updated throughout our holiday with updates and pictures and we honestly couldn’t have asked for better dog sitters. We are going away quite a lot and the stress of finding a dog sitter has finally gone. I would highly recommend Bianca and Chloe if you are looking for someone to look after your dog while you are away as they are not your average dog sitter, they poured so much love into it and you can see they genuinely love what they do and care about the dogs in their care. Thank you so much for making our holiday a million times less stressful.”

“Our puppy had a great overnight stay with Edwin and family. She went on a few good walks and we appreciated getting photos of the fun she was having while we were away.”

“Tyson was looked after by Audrone for 2 weeks, and I can tell Tyson had the best 2 weeks! He was very well taken of by Audrone and her family, and they all really loved Tyson. Which gave me reassurance, that Tyson was in good hands and was given lots of love and affection. I was sent plenty of pictures and videos of Tyson enjoying himself. Overall very happy, thank you Audrone.”

“We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter! Lucy was absolutely amazing with Pepe and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was clear from the updates and photos that Pepe was having the best time, and he looked so happy, relaxed, and well cared for. Lucy and her partner was kind, reliable, and treated Pepe as if he were their own. Very happy pup, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Thank you so much, Lucy, for taking such wonderful care of Pepe. We highly recommend you to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy dog sitter!”

“We spent a long time searching for someone as perfect as Steve. Trusting someone to care for Fip wasn’t easy—our expectations were high, and we had a lot of questions. From the start, Steve was incredibly patient, thorough, and understanding. He took the time to answer every question and meet Fip before we made our decision, which gave us real peace of mind. Steve ticked every box. He’s a kind, thoughtful, and genuinely caring dog sitter who clearly loves what he does. Every instruction we gave was understood and followed to the letter, and it was obvious that Fip had a fantastic time in his care. If, like us, your dog means the world to you and you’re looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and attentive—Steve is the one. We truly can’t recommend him highly enough.”

Kodjo was absolutely lovely with Skye! Skye loved staying with him and they were best friends immediately. Kodjo was super friendly and reassured us of how he would be looking after Skye and shared photos while we were away which was great. We’ll definitely be teaching about again next time we need dog care- thank you!

Becky has just looked after my dog while I was on holiday, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment I dropped my dog off, I knew they were in safe, caring hands. Becky treated them like one of her own, giving them so much love, attention, and affection throughout their stay. It truly felt like a home away from home rather than a boarding service. The regular walks were fantastic, and it was so reassuring to receive updates knowing my dog was happy, active, and having the best time. It was clear they were not only well cared for but genuinely loved. I came home to a relaxed, happy dog, which says everything about the wonderful care Becky provides. Knowing I could enjoy my holiday without worrying was priceless. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Becky to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and dedicated dog boarder. She goes above and beyond, and I will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you so much, Becky—you are amazing!

Five stars, great service, 100% satisfied! Zaria took good care of our 4 1/2 months old Cavalier puppy while we were away for 10 days. She provided regular updates to us about Bella's well-being including photos and videos and we could see that our Bella was a happy dog. It's obvious Zaria is a very experienced dog sitter and she also has experience with minding puppies! Thank you Zaria for your help!

Bran came home very content after his stay with Beth and Joe. We really appreciated the time for the meet and greet and Bran quickly made himself at home, which they were super kind and accommodating of. Thanks to you both, it means a lot to leave him with lovely people.

Ciaran and Sasha were next level dog sitters. We had a pre meet so that Ciaran could meet Wilf and have a good look around his large garden. During Wilf’s stay we had plenty of updates, pictures and videos. It was clear to see that Wilf was being treated very much as part of their family. We returned home to a very happy, settled and well cared for pup. I just hope they are free next time we go away.

Becky looked after Cleo and Beau overnight for us. This was the first time we’ve used Becky and it definitely won’t be the last. Great communication, and I felt totally at ease knowing they were both being so well cared for. Thank you so much again — we’ll see you again soon x

I honestly can't recommend Samantha highly enough. She looked after my two dogs, Rocco and Winston, for 10 days while I was away, and from the moment I met her at our meet and great, I knew they were in safe hands. The level of care, love and attention she gave them was just exceptional. My boys aren't the easiest pair, as one is older and one is younger, both with very different needs, but Samantha handled everything brilliantly. She kept me updated with lots of photos and messages of the boys playing and looking so happy, which meant I could actually relax and enjoy my holiday knowing they were happy and being so well cared for. When I picked them up, it was obvious they'd had an amazing time. In fact, I think Rocco and Winston would have happily stayed a little longer if they could 🤣! They came home relaxed, content and clearly very loved. Finding someone you trust completely with your dogs is priceless, and I've found that person. I won't hesitate to book Samantha every time I go away in the future. Thank you so much, Samantha, for treating Rocco and Winston like they were your own. You're an absolute star, and I couldn't recommend you more highly. 🐾❤️

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
