“Joey is a really friendly, polite guy who I could tell from the outset genuinely loved cats. He sent me daily photo updates and replied quickly to what’s app messages. He even watered my plants for me! I would thoroughly recommend him and will definitely be making a booking again in the future.”

“Took great care of my cat. Kiran sent me photos and videos, where I could see he was totally relaxed and happy. We had a great meeting beforehand to meet him and get to know him, as well as finding out about any medications and his eating habits. Really put my mind at ease when I was away!”

“Elena was able to look after my two cats at very short notice and provided great service! I was updated regularly and could see that the cats were being very well cared for whilst I was away.”

About: Hello! I'm Graeme, and I am so excited to meet your furry friends! My partner Rob and I have both grown up with dogs all of our lives and we're really missing the love and affection we want to give as we can't commit to having one of our own at the moment. My family have always had dogs from I was a kid including Labradors, Golden Retrievers, and mixed breed rescues. We regularly babysit our friends Maltese (Daisy) for weekends, and any dog welcomed to our home becomes part of our wider family. Rob and I both work a mixture of office based and home hybrid Monday to Friday so are flexible in our availability for day care, drop in and boarding mid-week and weekends so get in touch. Please note that my ability to work from home is reducing so longer stays cannot be guaranteed, and I will need to review what’s possible. We kindly ask that if your dog has separation anxiety, and cannot be left alone for any period of time (even for us to go to the shops) we are unable to accept your request for sitting / boarding. We live in a decent sized apartment, with a securely fenced balcony with lots of good walking routes close by near canals, parks and quieter green spaces.
“Linke was very kind and patient patient with our dog Winnie who is quite shy and nervous. She took really good care of her and kept me updated with lots of lovely photos. I'm very thankful for her help and would recommend her to others!”

About: Both my partner and I have been animal lovers all our lives! We've previously used borrowmydoggy, and we jump at any opportunity to mind, walk and play with our friends' pups! I owned 2 cats previously in my family home I work from home two days a week, and my partner is remote 95% of the time so we're really flexible with our schedules depending on what you need. I am also open to house sitting Thurs - Sunday where I can WFH and be available to your pet around the clock! We live in an apartment in Manchester City centre, which is very open plan. I will only take your dog on walks in areas which are pre-approved and follow any specific instructions for looking after your pet very precisely. For doggy day-care, I can provide round-the-clock car, and we have a couple of dog-friendly parks close by that we'd make full use of for any furry guests!

About: Hi! I’m Jess (jess_sits_pets_xo) I have grown up around animals and have had the pleasure of owning two cats in my own flat up until recently. I have experience with paid dog walking and dog sitting for up to 1 week for up to 2 dogs at a time in my flat, including Chihuahuas, a Miniature Pinscher and Shih Tzus. This included regular walks, toilet break and regular play times! I am happy to adapt to your pets style of living as I allow cats and dogs on my furniture. I enjoy driving to the countryside for walks and feel it would be great to take a dog along for a walk for the day! I am prepared to spend evenings and weekends walking/housesitting dogs or cats and am reliable and can always be contacted. Currently I work full time, working Tuesday - Thursday in the office. I am usually out of the house from 8:20-18:00 on these days. I work from home every Friday and have Saturday/Sundays free. I do have flexibility with my work from home days so I can see about adjusting my schedule to your pets needs. Happy to work from home at a house sitting and keep your pet company during the day or evening! I offer house sitting services alongside regular pop in visits. As I have my own cat, I can no longer house animals in my own home but am happy to house sit and care for cats or dogs in your own home! This includes emptying cat litter trays, frequent daily visits, sleepovers, taking dogs for regular walks, cleaning up furballs etc. I do have a travel basket for dogs to be clipped into my car too :)
About: We have raised Carlton from puppy whilst living at a flat. He is well house trained and very good with other dogs. We have the knowledge and patience for puppies and are open to all dog personalities. Carlton is a Shetland sheep dog which are known for their barking and intelligence. We know how to deal with excessive barking and how to keep a dog mentally occupied. We are both working from home full time. One is us is self employed so has a very flexible schedule which can be helpful with collection/ drop off. We are out with Carlton around every three hours, so your dog will be sure to get exercise during their time with us! As mentioned, we have a very friendly dog who loves to play with other dogs. We have space to crate your dog if necessary (we would just need to borrow the crate). Plenty of toys for them to play with!
“Hadi is amazing!!! From the first moment he was always very professional - Meeting us beforehand to meet our cat Boris and ask about his care and routines. We are very happy that we found Hadi, he took excellent care of Boris, sending photos and updates from him all the time! We will definitely book with him again! 😊”

“Olivia had been fantastic with our puppy. She has knowledge, patience and great communication. We are also very grateful for the adjustments she’s made in the hot weather. We would highly recommend Olivia :)”

“Thank you so much to Elizabeth for taking care of Fleefer while we were away for Christmas. Elizabeth was amazing with Fleefer from day 1 and really got along well with her. The daily updates were amazing and we could really see how comfortable Fleefer was with Elizabeth, and I think she looked forward to every drop in visit! Elizabeth is very trustworthy and we would absolutely like her to come and take care of Fleefer again when we are away in future. Thank you!”

“Sofie was amazing and able to help with a drop in visit and short walk with Merlin at very short notice. Communication was great throughout and would recommend to anyone!”

About: I have been a devoted pet lover from a young age, growing up with two dogs — a Maltese and a Yorkshire Terrier — which gave me a deep understanding of canine behaviour and needs. I have also been a cat owner since 2023, caring for two beautiful cats, a Ragdoll and a Golden British Shorthair. This experience has taught me to understand different pet personalities and provide attentive, loving care. Friends and family have trusted me to look after their pets, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I take pride in keeping owners updated with regular photos and messages, so you can enjoy your time away with complete peace of mind. As a full-time pet sitter, I am available 7 days a week with no other work or study commitments. Your pet will receive my complete attention throughout the day. I will follow their usual feeding schedule, play with them regularly, and ensure they feel comfortable and settled in their own home environment. I provide care exclusively in your own home, which means your pet stays in a familiar and stress-free environment with all their favourite toys, bedding and routines. I treat every pet as my own, with the same love and attention I give to my two cats. I will keep all doors and windows secure, follow any specific instructions you leave, and send regular photo and video updates throughout the day so you always know your pet is happy and safe.

“Phoebe was amazing! It made me feel so relaxed and happy to know Kenzo was in good hands. He doesn't trust easy but he warmed up to Phoebe very quickly! She is also very thorough, following all instructions, communicates well and sends lots of pictures and videos. I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Couldn’t recommend Sarah enough - she understands our boy so well even though he’s a bit quirky and she always sends lovely pupdates. The only person in the city we trust with our boy!”

“We had such a lovely experience with Irene. This was our first time doing something like this and was a bit anxious about the idea but Irene made us feel at ease, we got multiple updates a day about our little one. He seemed in great spirits when we got back and even missed you a little I think! Thanks so much”

“Sam looked after Bibi with attention and care, handling his meds without problems and staying at my flat while I was away for a week. It only took Sam a day or two to make friends with Bibi who is very shy around strangers! !”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Manchester
Steve was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Polite, friendly, and reassuring! We did a little meet and greet with our cat Kevin before we left, and they warmed to one another immediately. This was the first time Kevin has been left for a few days so that was really reassuring and we felt confident leaving Kev with Steve. Every single day, we the check-in update through the website, and also additional messages and pictures of Kev playing and being fussed. He’s been fed, played with, loved, and his box cleaned out, and upon returning we found a very relaxed contented cat. Excellent service from beginning to end, and will absolutely come to Steve first for any future adventures!

Evelyn was really friendly and great with my cat Leia. She provided plenty of updates without being overbearing and I was more than happy with how she was looked after. She clearly took time to spend time with Leia and play with her. Would definitely book again when needed

Charlotte was outstanding in her care for my cats Buddy and Leaf. Particularly Buddy who was very sickly at the time and required medication which was difficult to administer because he rejected it. However Charlotte persevered and found inventive ways to hide the medication in his food. as a result Buddy began to recover and by the time I returned he had fully recovered; in addition Charlotte was attentive and sent detailed daily pictures+videos of Buddy and Leaf and their progress. I cant praise Charlotte enough highly highly recommended. Thanks

Liz is an absolutely fantastic cat sitter. She’s always so polite, friendly, reliable and prompt, and her communication is excellent from start to finish. Luna is naturally a very shy cat, but she absolutely loves Liz, which speaks volumes about how kind, patient and caring she is. I also really appreciate all the photo updates while I’m away – it’s so reassuring to see Luna looking so happy and relaxed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Liz to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring and professional cat sitter. She always goes above and beyond, and it’s such a comfort knowing Luna is in such safe hands.

Peter was amazing! We booked two daily visits for our cat Ozzy while we were on holiday, and he took such good care of him. We got loads of pictures and updates the whole time we were away, and Ozzy was a happy and clearly well looked after cat by the time we got home. On top of that, we had an issue with our bathroom while we were away, a pretty stressful thing to deal with from a distance, and Peter went above and beyond to help us sort it out. Could not recommend him more!

Tash is very easy to communicate with and my cat likes her (which is rare). She offered a meet-and-greet on very short notice which was much appreciated. She was very conscientious around my home, and looked after Summer perfectly. I would always ask her to look after my grumpy cat again :)

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
