“Jyothi and his family were really nice and took really good care of Simba. Unfortunately Simba has fallen ill recently and appetite isn't great but Jyothi ensured he tried his best to get Simba eating. Regular updates with photos which definitely put my mind at ease esp when my baby isn't 100%. Can't thank you enough for being so caring and understanding. Highly recommended ?”

“Another booking with Jamie, Nicola and Carlton and another amazing day for Milo. Once again, we couldn't reccomend them more. Attentive, caring and truly dog lovers, we will definitely book again.”

“Valeria is an amazing dog sitter. Really responsive to my messages right from the start. Sent updates & photo's of my dog throughout the day. I will definitely be using her again to take such good care of my girl.”

“Fynn enjoyed a fantastic week with Tom. He was kept safe and well cared for and gently exposed to other doggies that Tom routinely cares for, further aiding his growth and socialisation skills. Tom also remained flexible each day to accommodate my erratic schedule and was always there to fit my drop-off & pick-up times. From Fynn & I; thank you! 🙏🏿”

“Samuel was fantastic looking after our XL Bully, Ziggy, for the day. He was flexible, attentive and took the time to ask plenty of questions to make sure our dog was comfortable and well cared for. We’d definitely reach out to Samuel again for doggy day care in the future 😊”

“Maggie loved her time with Hannah, she even kept looking back for her on our walk home! She answered any messages quickly and sent some updates during the day. Couldn’t ask for a better first experience using Rover.”

I have a degree in psychology with a focus on animal behaviour, and I will be starting my animal behaviour and welfare masters in October. Currently looking for regular or one off clients. I am starting a masters in animal behaviour and welfare in October and I am wanting to continue animal care over the summer before starting. I understand how important routine is for your animals, so I am happy to follow your schedules to ensure your pet is well cared for.
“We were very grateful to Grace for looking after Bella. She agreed to take Bella with only two days’ notice after another sitter had cancelled. She was very kind and caring, gave Bella two walks, and kept us updated with regular messages and photos. Thank you, Grace — whenever we are in Manchester again, we would definitely ask you to look after Bella. 🐾”

“Leda is an amazing dog sitter! She has provided daycare for my dog Lilibet twice, and both times were wonderful. Leda is caring and attentive, and Lilibet adores her. I love that Leda takes lots of pictures during the day and sends them to me. Highly recommend Leda to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!”

“Our boys seem happy when we dropped them off and picked them up. They also happily ate their meals, which is a great indication that they’re very comfortable with Wei En. She accommodated their potty and meal time schedule, provided updates and was very prompt in responding. Thank you for taking care of them under such short notice!”

“Louise was amazing with Frida, she met us before hand so she could start getting used to her and she was very patient with her shyness. We were kept updated with photos and Frida seemed super relaxed on the photos and when we picked her up. We'll definitely book again and recommend Louise to anyone”

“Annie has been amazing with Ruby, she is normally wary of strangers but after the initial meet and greet, Ruby snuggled next to Annie and was very relaxed and comfortable throughout the day. Would recommend Annie to all doggy parents, and will certainly book another appointment with her!”

“Sophie is great with Minnie and she looks after her very well. I trust that Minnie is in safe hands whilst I am at work, so massive help. Would definitely recommend Sophie to look after any dogs. Thank you!”

“Deinol has looked after Branwen a couple of times now and her review is the most important (she loves him!). Shes excited to see him and has tried to make me walk to his flat to say hi when weve been on a walk. Hes great at keeping me updated so I dont worry. Clearly loves dogs. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!”

About: I have experience caring for both cats and dogs of different ages, from energetic puppies to senior companions up to 12 years old. The longest I’ve looked after a dog was for one month, so I’m comfortable with daily routines, feeding, walks, playtime and providing companionship. Many pets quickly become comfortable enough to sleep beside me, which I think reflects the trust I build with them. As I’m home most of the time, I can provide plenty of companionship throughout the day and make sure your pet receives lots of attention. I work as a freelancer from home, so I have a very flexible schedule and can spend plenty of time with your pet throughout the day. I love going for walks and would be happy to take your dog to the park regularly. I live in a clean and pet-friendly one-bedroom apartment with a secure balcony. There are no other pets in my home, so your pet will have a calm environment and my full attention.

Imogen was great! Easy to communicate with and took fantastic care of Akira who came back happy and full of beans. Akira can be challenging from time to time so it’s nice to have someone that understands your concerns and reads through some guidance for that eventuality when an Akita wants to go full Akita. 😎 would definitely rebook!

Absolutely brilliant dog sitter! Rocco was so well looked after and came home happy and settled. It was clear he had a lovely time and was really cared for. I had great communication throughout and felt completely at ease knowing he was in good hands. Would definitely recommend and use again!

Sherry was fantastic, I really can’t think of anything she could have done to improve; her service was excellent, the care she gave our dog outstanding, and everything about the process of booking with her and her day with our dog was professional, clear and friendly. Sherry was a joy to work with and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or rebook her. Thank you Sherry for looking after our dog with such care and attention, he was so very happy!

Bay settled in quickly to Emily’s apartment. Great bonus having access to garden space when he wants to stretch his legs. Emily is super flexible around arrangements and took Bay out for a wander at lunch time so he was happy to chill out for the rest of the day.

not only is Gabriella an amazing pet-sitter, she is also the most radiant individual i have met in a while! Gabriella went above and beyond for my theo and it was extremely clear through the updates sent & the way he cried for her when daycare was over! could not possibly recommend enough- what an amazing person 💞

Holly was fantastic with our pup Herbert, she met him prior to booking to introduce herself which we really appreciated. On the day she was patient and caring and provided plenty of updates and pictures to let us know Herbert was having a great day. He was nervous at first being in a new environment but Holly helped him calm down and settle well. She took him for big walk and provided him with all the attention (he is a needy pup). We would be more than happy for Holly to mind Herbert in the future (so would Herb).

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
