“Valeria is an amazing dog sitter. Really responsive to my messages right from the start. Sent updates & photo's of my dog throughout the day. I will definitely be using her again to take such good care of my girl.”

About: I have always had pets growing up. I have previously worked for the RSPCA as an animal carer, I have experience with all sizes of dogs and cats from very young to very old. As well as private dog sitting/walking in the past. I am comfortable grooming animals as well. I have a degree in psychology with a focus on animal behaviour, and I will be starting my animal behaviour and welfare masters in October. Currently looking for regular or one off clients. I am starting a masters in animal behaviour and welfare in October and I am wanting to continue animal care over the summer before starting. As my course has not yet started, I currently have plenty of time in the day to spend with your furry friends! I have a lot of pet sitting and caring experience through previous roles as an animal carer. I am also DBS checked. I understand how important routine is for your animals, so I am happy to follow your schedules to ensure your pet is well cared for.
“Oakley was so happy and made himself at home it was adorable! Tomos took him on walks and took good care of him i could tell and would definitely leave oakley with him again!”
“Emily’s been amazing over the last month. Our dog’s pretty nervous with new people and routines, but Emily has been super patient, thoughtful and flexible for Stella. She’s settled really well, communicated every day, and Stella now bounds over every morning. We’ll definitely continue using Emily!”

“Monty has just come back from another few days of doggy day care. As usual, we received plenty of videos of his adventures. They are the most caring people we have ever met when it comes to dogs. We can’t recommend them enough and feel so lucky they are in the same town as us. Always flexible with their times. Monty loves his time there and can’t wait to get in their garden as soon as we approach their street, he knows exactly where he’s going, for a day of fun and a catch up with Ted and Logan! Thank you”

“Jamie and Nikola were absolutely wonderful with our little princess, Miss Minnie! They took such great care of her, and it was clear she felt right at home with them and their lovely dog, Carlton. We felt completely at ease knowing she was in such caring hands. Minnie came back happy, relaxed, and already looking forward to her next stay! We highly recommend this gorgeous couple, they’re truly amazing sitters. 💕🐾”

“Bugsy had a fab day with Hannah, lots of check ins and pupdates 🥰 Bugsy had lots of play time, good walks and chill time for napping, she was definitely comfortable and happy with Hannah 🫶🏼”

Natalie was great with our dogs (2 miniature dachshunds). Really helpful and great communication the whole time she had them, which was lovely and made us feel at ease and be able to enjoy our time away. Will definitely be using Natalie again. Lil & Alex xxx

Silvia is lovely and took amazing care of my 4 month old puppy Finn. I booked in last minute with her and received a super quick response before and during his day with her, alongside frequent photos and videos throughout. Highly recommend! My pup is now fast asleep 🤣

I'm a really anxious dog mum, in five years, I've never even left my Ollie dog with a friend. However, a change in circumstances has meant I really needed some extra help with him, so after a meet and greet we agreed to give it a go, and Imogen has been amazing. After two visits and a few photos of my baby looking ridiculously comfortable at Imogen's, I'm already totally at ease trusting her, which I didn't think was possible! xx

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Manchester commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.
Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
