“As always our little anxious doggy has returned happy, tired and relaxed. Lin sends us updates and photos to show us that he's happy and gives thorough feedback regarding, food, toileting, play and wellbeing. If there's any doubt in instructions, Lin always checks as the list important thing is our fur baby's wellbeing. We feel so blessed to have found Lin, who we trust with our little furry boy, for a day or a full holiday, we know he'll be thoroughly cared for.”

About: We’ve always had small animals in our family, from dogs , cats, rabbits and fish.We are responsible dog walkers. There are lots of lovely walks where we live , including Bowlee country park, the local park and Heaton park is only 10 minutes away. Over the years we have gained much dog health knowledge, having looked after dogs with pancreatitis ,diabetes and cataracts .I am DBS checked , friendly , reliable and trustworthy person to leave your dog with.Your pet will receive lots of love and play during its stay. Your dog will rarely be left alone as there is always someone at home. We have a lovely fenced in garden and yard which is totally safe for your dog to play and potter around in as well as regular walks .Our house is smoke free . We have just one pet , our dog Elvis . We would require your dog to be washed before it’s stay as we have some allergies . We usually go for two walks a day but this can be adjusted depending on your dogs needs .We care for your dog as if it were our own. We will only be boarding two dogs at a time , along with our own dog who has been neutered and is a very happy chappy. Your pet will receive lots of love and play during its stay, as my family all either work from home or work part time, so there is always someone at home
“Gabbie had a great time and seemed relaxed instantly. With her being reactive and a nervous dog, it’s been hard to find people she gets along with and understand her needs. Stu and Georgina have loads of experience which is great when you don’t have the typical ‘friendly’ and ‘easy going’ dog.”

“willow had a great day with wilf and rachel! she can be a little nervous but once she settled in with wilf, she looked to have a great time! wilf is so lovely and full of energy. rachel sent photos and videos throughout the day to let us know how she was getting on 🥰 will definitely book again, thank you x”

About: Growing up with dogs and now raising our own energetic 2-year-old Labrador Retriever, caring for dogs has always been a huge part of mine and my partner Chris' lives. Between us, we’ve had hands-on experience with dogs for over 15 years, including Spaniels, Terriers, Pomeranians and Labradors, so we understand that every breed has different personalities, needs and energy levels. We provide a genuine, loving home-from-home environment where dogs are treated like part of the family, with plenty of attention, play, walks and care tailored to them individually. I work full time from home, meaning your dog will have company, supervision and regular attention throughout the day. My partner works full time too and is usually home by 3pm each day, so there’s always plenty of time for walks, play and cuddles. Winston comes everywhere with us and is rarely left alone, and we’d treat your dog exactly the same — like part of the family. Your dog will enjoy morning and evening walks, regular potty breaks during the day, lots of playtime and attention, plus access to our large secure fenced garden for safe outdoor fun and exercise. Your dog’s safety, comfort and happiness will always come first in our home. We have no children, creating a calm and relaxed environment where dogs can receive plenty of attention, care and supervision throughout the day. Our home also has a large secure 6ft fenced garden, perfect for safe playtime, exercise and toilet breaks. For extra peace of mind, we have indoor cameras in the main living area should we ever need to briefly step out, although dogs would very rarely be left alone as there are two of us and one of us is almost always home. Our Labrador, Winston, is a very active, loving and sociable typical Lab who absolutely adores other friendly dogs. Dogs with similar temperaments and energy levels would fit perfectly into our routine, whether they need looking after for a single night, longer stays or while you’re away on holiday. We’re very flexible and always try to match your dog’s usual routine and schedule to help them feel settled and at home. Dogs in our home are treated like family. Winston sleeps in bed with us, is allowed on the furniture and is involved in everything we do — and we would happily offer the same comfort, affection and care to your dog too. We know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, which is why we care for every dog as if they were our own.

This was Cookies first Doggie Day Care outing. However I didn't need to worry he was looked after brilliantly by Rachel and Wilf! In fact I know he can't wait for his next doggie day care appoinment with Rachel and his new friend Wilf! During the day it was easy to contact Rachel to see how Cookie was getting on but I didn't need to worry as Rachel sent loads of updates. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Rachel for your Doggie Day Care needs knowing your pet will be in really safe hands. I also know that Cookie would back me up on this but he can only lick me on the ear!!!
Jamila was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Rodney was really well looked after and the opportunity to play with other dogs. We were provided with lots of lovely photos and videos throughout the two days. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be sending Rodney to stay again 😀
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely brilliant! Alanah looked after my dog Lucy for the weekend and I couldn’t be happier with how everything went. She was incredibly caring and attentive from the start, and even flexible when I was running late to pick Lucy up — which was a huge help. She took Lucy out for daily walks, sent me loads of lovely photos, and when I picked her up she was freshly brushed, smelling great and clearly very happy. You can tell she was truly well looked after and loved. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Lucy with Alanah again. She’s a wonderful, trustworthy and genuine pet carer. Highly recommended! 🐾

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
