About: Hi there! 🤗 I'm Solveig, your caring and reliable pet sitter who's grown up with all kinds of pets at home (dogs, cats, rabbits, and more). While I currently don't have any pets of my own, I'd love to care for yours and make sure they're happy, loved and safe while you're away. Here's what I offer: - Daily updates: photos and videos updates - Active Care: whether it's a walk, a play session, or just cuddles, your furry friend will get all the attention and love they deserve. - Tidy Home: I'll clean up after your pets, water plants, and collect mail too! (Unless you don't want me to). I'm currently working from home with a flexible schedule so I can easily accommodate your needs, whether it's home visits, dog walking or overnight stays. Let's meet (in person or virtually) to discuss your pet's routines and make sure we're a great fit! Feel free to message me with any questions - I'd love to help! 🤗 I'm working from home at the moment so I can be quite flexible with my time. My Rover calendar will always be updated according to my availabilities). I live in a one bedroom flat in Manchester with no balcony and no garden) but live very close to many parks to walk your furry friends and keep them fit and untertained :)

About: I have grown up with all kinds of animals from fish, cats, dogs and horses. True animal lover. I have my own pooch who to me is like a child, very spoilt and cared for. I'm now retired and have plenty of time to help others enjoy their holidays without having to worry about their fur babies. I'm retired plenty of time to help others get on with their own work or to enjoy free time to do something they like doing best. I have a fenced garden with grassed areas surrounding my home. We go the park lots and the beach when possible. My dog Alfie goes out once a week with his Walker in a group with other dogs for a good run and for socialising.

Gabbie had a great time and seemed relaxed instantly. With her being reactive and a nervous dog, it’s been hard to find people she gets along with and understand her needs. Stu and Georgina have loads of experience which is great when you don’t have the typical ‘friendly’ and ‘easy going’ dog.

About: We’ve always had small animals in our family, from dogs , cats, rabbits and fish.We are responsible dog walkers. There are lots of lovely walks where we live , including Bowlee country park, the local park and Heaton park is only 10 minutes away. Over the years we have gained much dog health knowledge, having looked after dogs with pancreatitis ,diabetes and cataracts .I am DBS checked , friendly , reliable and trustworthy person to leave your dog with.Your pet will receive lots of love and play during its stay. Your dog will rarely be left alone as there is always someone at home. We have a lovely fenced in garden and yard which is totally safe for your dog to play and potter around in as well as regular walks .Our house is smoke free . We have just one pet , our dog Elvis . We would require your dog to be washed before it’s stay as we have some allergies . We usually go for two walks a day but this can be adjusted depending on your dogs needs .We care for your dog as if it were our own. We will only be boarding two dogs at a time , along with our own dog who has been neutered and is a very happy chappy. Your pet will receive lots of love and play during its stay, as my family all either work from home or work part time, so there is always someone at home

About: I’ve always loved animals and really enjoy spending time with dogs. We have a dog of our own, a 20-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer, so I’m very used to energetic dogs who need plenty of exercise, attention, and routine. I understand how important it is to feel confident that your dog is being properly looked after while you’re away. I’m happy to help with walks, feeding, playtime, cuddles, and keeping to your dog’s usual routine as much as possible. I’ll treat your dog with the same care and attention I give my own, and I’m always happy to send updates and photos so you know how they’re getting on. Pet care fits really naturally into my routine. I work from home, so I’m around during the day and able to give dogs plenty of company, attention, toilet breaks, and care. We also have our own 20-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer, so daily walks, feeding, playtime, and keeping a good routine are already part of everyday life for us. We especially love weekend walks with the dog, so I’m very used to active dogs who enjoy getting out, having a good run around, and then relaxing afterwards I know it’s a big deal trusting someone with your dog, so I’d always look after them like I do my own. At home, I’d make sure they’re safe, comfortable and kept to their usual routine as much as possible — walks, food, toilet breaks, sleeping arrangements and anything else they’re used to. We have a 20-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer, so I’m used to active dogs and would always make sure introductions are done slowly and carefully. We have a fenced garden and our dog crate trained too

Tank spent his first two days of hopefully many more with Alison and her family last week. Safe to say he’s been treated like a king. Alison is extremely easy to communicate with, sends lots of lovely pictures and updates via the Rover app and has been flexible with us around timings we drop him off and pick him up. Tank was super excited to go back to Alison’s on the second day which made me and my partner feel really happy about him being there. Thanks so much Alison, looking forward to Tank spending more time with you all ❤️

About: I have over 16 years of experience caring for my own cat, who has been a part of my life since I was young. Taking care of her through every stage of her life — from a playful kitten to a senior cat — has taught me patience, responsibility, and how to respond to the changing needs of animals as they age. In addition to my own pet, I also regularly help friends take care of their dogs when they are away. I'm familiar with feeding routines, walking schedules, and providing companionship to ensure the pets feel safe and comfortable. These experiences have deepened my understanding of animal behavior and strengthened my commitment to providing attentive and compassionate care. I am working part-time as a teaching assistant, so l have a flexible schedule that allows me to care for pets on weekdays or weekends. I can care for pets in the owner's home and stay in close contact to provide updates. I do my best to follow the owner's schedule and instructions to ensure the pet receives the best possible care.

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover with hands on experience caring for Labradors and other dogs with different personalities, energy levels and routines. I currently own a Labrador called Layla and have had Labradors in the past too, so I’m very comfortable with large breeds, energetic dogs and dogs that love plenty of exercise and attention. I’ve also volunteered with Guide Dogs, which gave me valuable experience around dog behaviour, structure, patience, consistency and handling dogs calmly in different environments. Alongside caring for my own dogs, I’ve regularly walked and boarded friends’ dogs, helping them settle into a comfortable routine away from home. I genuinely enjoy learning more about dog behaviour, enrichment, body language and building trust with each dog individually. I’m canine first aid trained, safety conscious and reliable and I’m happy caring for nervous, excitable, high energy or older dogs. I work from home, which means dogs staying with me get plenty of company, supervision, attention and care throughout the day and night. I genuinely love spending time with dogs and getting to know their personalities properly. I aim to create a calm, home from home environment where dogs feel comfortable, relaxed and part of the family. I work from home and already structure my day around caring for my own Labrador, Layla. Dogs staying with me get plenty of company, attention and supervision throughout the day and evening in a calm home environment. I’m able to provide regular toilet breaks, feeding routines, play, affection and multiple daily outings as part of a normal day rather than fitting them around a busy schedule. Boarding works especially well for me during evenings, weekends and holidays, and I’m happy to adapt to each dog’s usual routine to help them feel comfortable, relaxed and settled while staying away from home. Dogs staying in my home are cared for in a calm, safe and comfortable environment where they’re treated like part of the family. My home is clean, dog friendly and dog proofed, with a secure fenced garden for safe outdoor time, toilet breaks and play. Because I work from home, dogs get regular company, feeding, affection and multiple daily outings throughout the day. I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medication, sleeping arrangements and any specific instructions that help them feel comfortable and settled. Safety is very important to me, especially when introducing dogs or managing different personalities and energy levels. I take time to understand each dog individually, including temperament, behaviour, exercise needs and anything they may be anxious or reactive around. I’m canine first aid trained, safety conscious and experienced around larger breeds and energetic dogs. Regular photo and video updates will also be provided so you can relax knowing your dog is happy, safe and well cared for while you’re away.

This was Cookies first Doggie Day Care outing. However I didn't need to worry he was looked after brilliantly by Rachel and Wilf! In fact I know he can't wait for his next doggie day care appoinment with Rachel and his new friend Wilf! During the day it was easy to contact Rachel to see how Cookie was getting on but I didn't need to worry as Rachel sent loads of updates. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Rachel for your Doggie Day Care needs knowing your pet will be in really safe hands. I also know that Cookie would back me up on this but he can only lick me on the ear!!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 2,683 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Rochdale. About 87% of Rochdale sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Rochdale commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
