“Our dog has been looked after by Marnie before and we didn't hesitate to contact her again for another visit as she looks after her so well. I had regular updates on how she was doing and each photo and report showed her looking so happy and relaxed with plenty of walks and fun times and a big field to run around in!! I have every confidence in Marnie and feel so happy knowing that our little girl is being so looked after and that I was kept updated so well. Definitely can recommend Marnie as a very caring dog sitter who considers your dogs needs thoroughly and really gives the best care to the point I don't think our little girl is happy that she had to come home!! Thank you again Marnie it was wonderful to see you again and I know Lottie had the best time ever!”

“Baz had my Ivar for an overnight stay, I’m always nervous leaving him with anyone but he has had an amazing time with baz and paisley! Thank you and we will deffos be back in the future!”

“We could tell straight away that Teddy had been in a loving, caring environment. Teddy had a lovely time and was really happy when we picked him up. Sophie took fantastic care of Teddy during our 10 days away and kept us reassured with periodic updates on how he was doing. Will absolutely book again & would recommend highly!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better couple to look after our dogs while we were away. From the moment we met them, they were warm, friendly, and clearly genuine animal lovers, which immediately put us at ease. They had the absolute best time — it was obvious they were well cared for, happy, and comfortable throughout their stay. We loved receiving updates and could tell they were being treated like part of the family. It’s such a relief knowing we can go away and trust that our dogs are in such kind and capable hands. We would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone and wouldn’t hesitate to book them again in the future.”

“We’ve had a Stanley stay with Rachel a couple of times now and he’s loved staying with her and her family. They really fuss over and pamper him and send us regular pics and updates which is lovely. We can highly recommend Rachel and will definitely be using her again!”

“Theo stayed with Tom and Mia for 3 nights, and we couldn’t have been happier with the care he received. They sent us lots of photos and updates throughout his stay, which was lovely and reassuring to see. Theo clearly had a fantastic time enjoying the countryside walks and taking in all the local farm life. They even took the time to brush him every day, which was especially appreciated as he was shedding quite a lot during his visit. Tom and Mia were both kind, friendly and polite throughout our conversations on the app, and it was clear that Theo was very comfortable and happy in their home. He came home completely knackered in the best possible way, and it was obvious he had thoroughly enjoyed himself. We’ll definitely be looking forward to having Tom and Mia look after Theo again. Highly recommended!”

About: Hello! I’m a lifelong dog lover offering full-time dog sitting and home boarding services. Dogs have always been a massive part of my life. I was the proud owner of three wonderful Jack Russells. We spent years going on endless adventures, long walks, and exploring the outdoors together. Sadly, they have all since passed away, but having them in my life showed me just how much joy dogs bring to every day. Losing them made me realise that working with dogs isn't just something I love doing in my spare time, it's what I want to do full-time. Coming from a Jack Russell background, I know firsthand that dogs need both physical exercise and mental stimulation! Whether your dog loves energetic countryside strolls or gentle neighborhood sniffs, I’ll match their ideal pace. I treat every dog in my care like family, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and thoroughly loved while you're away. I’d love to learn all about your dog’s personality, daily routine, and favorite things. Feel free to send me a message so we can chat or set up a Meet & Greet Whether your dog thrives on an early morning trek, a mid-day leg stretch, or an evening stroll, I can completely adapt to their existing routine. I’m available to spend quality time with them throughout the day, making sure they feel relaxed and secure. Moving to a new environment can sometimes be overwhelming. I have a cozy, dedicated room set up specifically to help dogs settle in at their own pace until they feel completely confident and at ease. Our garden is completely fenced and secure, giving your dog a safe space to stretch their legs, sniff around, and enjoy some outdoor playtime with total peace of mind. Once they’re settled, they have complete freedom throughout the home! They are more than welcome to cuddle up on the furniture, lounge on the sofa, and make themselves right at home.
“Rafael looked after our two dogs just for one night initially. She was great with them, sent through regular updates with photographs and was flexible. Would definitely recommend and will use her again.”

“The boys loved their time at Mollie’s. She sent lots of updates with photos of them, they looked like they very comfortable snuggled on the sofa! Would definitely recommended and hope Mollie is available next time I need someone 😊”

“Thanks you very much for taking such good care of Rudi and keeping us updated with photos and messages. He clearly had another super stay. We know he’s in great hands and would highly recommend.”

“Absolutely 100% recommend. Ted remembered them and pawed at the door to get in on arrival. Lovely couple and would not hesitate to book them again. Thank you so much for looking after Ted.”

“Chelsea and her family (including her Dog) have been a blessing. I have a boxer girl that we treat like family so leaving her to go on holiday was really difficult for us. The communication we got before and during allowed us to enjoy our holiday, which I feared I wouldnt. Maddie was really loved and had that much of a good time I worried slightly she'd want to stay 😂. Even when I had to extend the stay Chelsea was so helpful. If you ever need someone to look after your dog I would look no further than Chelsea, I know I won't in future.”

“My 2 dogs had a lovely time for 2 nights - a home from home! As soon as I arrived they were excited to explore Ada’s house and loved going on walks. Ada sent me photos to keep me updated. I’m already booked again for another night. Would highly recommend”

“Honey loves her stays at Daryl’s house, so much that sometimes she doesn’t want to leave! Daryl is very kind and approachable and I have no doubt that my beloved pet is very well looked after when with Daryl. 10/10 would recommend to all my loved ones x”

“Amazing sitter, I can't recommend highly enough. Kept me up to date and definitely loved them both like her own. I wouldn't hesitate booking again in the future, once she's caught her breath again 🙈😂”

“Zack took amazing care of my 2 dogs, he kept me updated with messages and pictures and I have come back to 2 very happy dogs. Zack went above and beyond catering to my 2 fussy eaters and I recommend him to anyone wanting a dog sitter. Will definitely not hesitate booking them back in with Zack for my next holiday”

“Luna had a great stay with Mark and his family. They were warm, welcoming and sent lots of photos of the beautiful walks they took Luna on. Chip & Dougie were great company for Luna too. Thank you for having her!”

“Dan was wonderful! Great communication from start to finish, very friendly and flexible on timings which was hugely helpful. Our dog Winston had a wonderful time and Dan kept contacted me throughout the day with updates and photos which was so thoughtful and reassuring! Would defo use Dan again - thanks!”

“Fantastic. My dog is a little needy and staying with Chris was just perfect for him, especially as Chris doesn’t have any other pets. My dog is well socialised and regularly goes to dog daycare however he loves one on one attention. We actually think he was reluctant to leave! Chris has a great set up at home with loads of private outdoor space and even more park and lovely walks right on his doorstep. As my dog doesn’t always want huge walks, just a potter. He kept me well informed of Ted’s stay with photos and messages. Would 100% recommend Chris and wouldn’t hesitate to use him again. Thank you Chris for everything.”

We couldn’t recommend Matt highly enough. He looked after Freya for a full week while we were away, and from start to finish we felt completely reassured that she was in safe hands. We’ve only had Freya for a short time, so leaving her so soon after bringing her home was something we were naturally a little anxious about. Matt completely understood this and took extra care to make sure she was comfortable, settled and well looked after throughout her stay. He was brilliant with her medication, making sure it was given correctly every day, and he kept us updated daily with messages and plenty of photos. It made such a difference being able to see that she was happy and relaxed while we were away. It was obvious that Matt genuinely cared about Freya rather than simply looking after her. Knowing she was getting plenty of attention, affection and proper care meant we could actually relax and enjoy our holiday without worrying about her. We came home to a very happy and well-cared-for dog. We’d have absolutely no hesitation leaving Freya with Matt again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, attentive and genuinely caring to look after their dog. Thanks again!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
