About: Dog mum of 2. Sadly lost my 19 year old westie last year who I had loved from a puppy. My dogs currently range in age from 10 years to 5 year and are a chihuahua, and dachshund so I have experience with different ages and breeds. I work from home so I have plenty of time for attention and play time! I like walking and spending time on the sofa with the dogs. A lovely fenced garden and 2 little dog playmates to keep yours company. Also two human babies (age 17 and 13) who love to play with and spoil the dogs! Your fur baby will never be short of love and affection here!
“Lucy is a fantastic sitter! She came and had a pre meeting with us first to help the first visit, which put our minds at ease. Bertie loved seeing her and playing whilst we were at work. The reports she gave us were very detailed and gave us a great insight into some of new puppies behaviours. We will be definitely be calling on her services again in the near future!”

“Minx and Lewis are amazing cat sitters! They've looked after our boys several times now and each time they've cared for our boys like they are their own cats. Minx is very rapid with communication and keeps you updated with messages, pictures and videos. 100% recommend using them to take care of your pets.”

About: Hello! I’m a lifelong dog lover offering full-time dog sitting and home boarding services. Dogs have always been a massive part of my life. I was the proud owner of three wonderful Jack Russells. We spent years going on endless adventures, long walks, and exploring the outdoors together. Sadly, they have all since passed away, but having them in my life showed me just how much joy dogs bring to every day. Losing them made me realise that working with dogs isn't just something I love doing in my spare time, it's what I want to do full-time. Coming from a Jack Russell background, I know firsthand that dogs need both physical exercise and mental stimulation! Whether your dog loves energetic countryside strolls or gentle neighborhood sniffs, I’ll match their ideal pace. I treat every dog in my care like family, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and thoroughly loved while you're away. I’d love to learn all about your dog’s personality, daily routine, and favorite things. Feel free to send me a message so we can chat or set up a Meet & Greet Whether your dog thrives on an early morning trek, a mid-day leg stretch, or an evening stroll, I can completely adapt to their existing routine. I’m available to spend quality time with them throughout the day, making sure they feel relaxed and secure. Moving to a new environment can sometimes be overwhelming. I have a cozy, dedicated room set up specifically to help dogs settle in at their own pace until they feel completely confident and at ease. Our garden is completely fenced and secure, giving your dog a safe space to stretch their legs, sniff around, and enjoy some outdoor playtime with total peace of mind. Once they’re settled, they have complete freedom throughout the home! They are more than welcome to cuddle up on the furniture, lounge on the sofa, and make themselves right at home.

About: Hi! I’m a huge animal lover with a lifetime of hands on experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes and personalities. I currently have two dogs of my own and a cat, so caring for animals is a big part of my everyday life and something I genuinely love. I offer drop in visits and dog walking and always make sure pets feel safe, relaxed and cared for while you’re away. Whether your pet loves long walks and playtime or prefers a slower paced cuddle and company visit, I tailor my care to what suits them best just like with my two babies one being raised from a pup and one from a rescue, every animals needs are different and i’m here to meet them! I have experience with puppies, senior pets and nervous animals and I’m also confident administering medication, including tablets, liquid medication and injections when needed. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets, especially when they need extra care and attention. Friends and family have always relied on me to care for their animals because I’m patient, reliable and genuinely treat every pet like they’re my own. I know how much peace of mind matters when you’re away from your pets and I’ll always keep you updated with messages and photos so you know they’re happy and well looked after. If you’re looking for someone friendly, experienced and genuinely passionate about animals, I’d love to meet your pets! 🐾 I have two dogs of my own, so pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I’m used to regular walks, feeding, playtime and giving pets plenty of attention throughout the day. I have a 2-year-old Lab cross who is very excitable and a 2-year-old English Bulldog X Pug with only one eye and very sedentary but lots of help needed, so I understand that every dog has different needs and personalities. I’m happy to tailor walks and visits around your pet’s routine and energy levels. I’m generally available outside my working hours and have good availability at weekends to care for your fur babies! My experience at home has taught me that every dog needs something different. My Labrador cross is energetic and loves being active, whilst my English Bulldog X Pug has only one fully developed eye and requires much more support with everyday activities. Because of this, I’m very comfortable caring for dogs who need extra patience, supervision or assistance. I’m also a lifelong cat owner and have experience administering medication to pets when required. I’ll always take the time to understand your pet’s individual needs and follow their usual routine carefully, making sure they feel safe, comfortable and cared for.

About: Me and my partner Callum have both boarded dogs in our homes previously. We have both grown up with dogs and enjoy taking care of them and walking them. We are both caring, cautious and sensible and truly enjoy having the company of dogs. We have experience of smaller/medium size dogs. I am mostly available weekends but can accommodate some mid week care as my work schedule is flexible. I work Monday - Thursday so can do long weekends and short trips I have a fenced yard/garden. We love dogs with us on the furniture and are happy to follow owners routines. We are happy to keep dogs on leads whilst walking!

About: I’ve grown up around animals and have had dogs and cats throughout my life, including a Labrador and a Cocker Spaniel, both of whom I helped raise from puppies. I’ve also had cats of my own. Over the years, I’ve looked after lots of different dogs for friends and family, including Labradors, Spaniels, Golden Retrievers, Saint Bernards and Bernese Mountain Dogs, so I’m comfortable with dogs of very different sizes, ages and personalities. I’m also a volunteer dog walker for a local dog charity and usually spend part of most weekends walking and spending time with the dogs there. I absolutely love animals and genuinely feel happiest with a dog around the house. I’m not in a position to commit to having my own dog at the moment, which is why dog sitting suits me so well. I get to enjoy having animals around while giving someone else the reassurance that their dog is being looked after by someone who genuinely loves having them there. I work from home the vast majority of the time, so pet care fits very naturally into my day. Because I’m home most of the day, pets would have plenty of company and wouldn’t be left alone for long periods. For dogs, a typical routine would usually include: * A morning walk * Another walk around lunchtime * An evening walk, depending on their usual routine and energy levels * Plenty of attention, company and cuddles throughout the day At weekends, I often go out for walks and generally have a fairly relaxed schedule, so any pet staying with me would very much be included in whatever I’m doing. My home is calm, quiet, child-free, pet-free and smoke-free, so it’s a lovely relaxed environment for pets to settle into. I have a fully secure yard for toilet breaks, as well as a park just five minutes from my home, so it’s very easy to get outside whenever needed. I’m very happy to follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including: * Feeding times * Walks and toilet breaks * Sleeping arrangements * Any little habits that help them feel comfortable and at home If they normally sleep on the sofa, in the bedroom or even on the bed, that’s absolutely fine with me if their owner is happy with it. My main aim is to make any pet staying with me feel safe, relaxed, loved and genuinely at home.

About: I have over two years of experience caring for animals, including both big and small dogs as well as cats. I grew up raising an Alsatian and a Belgian Malinois and so I am confident, caring and patient around animals, and genuinely enjoy spending time with them. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, companionship and following each pet’s individual routine. I treat every animal with the same care and attention I would want for my own. My pet will fit naturally into my routine alongside work as an Actor, residential care practitioner, caring for children and elderly, with daily care, attention and love. I care for pets in their own home by following their routine, providing food, walks, playtime and companionship, while keeping their environment clean, safe and comfortable.
“We’ve used Susan for the last week or so now and will continue to do so. Communication is quick, she’s reliable and has re-arranged stuff to work around us. She also sends photos of Hugo throughout the day. I would definitely recommend 🙂”

About: We are a friendly, reliable couple with a genuine love of dogs, animals and the outdoors. With three dogs of our own, dogs are very much part of our everyday lives, and we understand how important it is to find someone you can genuinely trust with a much-loved member of your family. Alongside our practical experience, Shirley holds a Canine Communication Diploma, awarded with Distinction by the Centre of Excellence. This complements our hands-on experience and helps us to understand canine communication, behaviour and the individual ways dogs express themselves. We also prefer focusing on giving dogs stimulating outdoor experiences rather than simply a quick walk around the block. We love the outdoors and enjoy giving dogs opportunities to walk, explore, sniff and enjoy plenty of enrichment. We are also fortunate to have access to private fields giving us fantastic opportunities for outdoor exercise and enrichment, whilst also providing indoor and outdoor spaces to cater for a better environment for any lovable pet and their individual needs. Having two of us means there is plenty of opportunity for companionship, supervision and individual attention. We understand that every dog is different — from energetic adventurers to older dogs who simply enjoy a gentle wander and plenty of affection — and we adapt our approach accordingly. Above all, we want you to be able to leave your dog with us knowing they will be treated with kindness, patience and respect. We don't just look after dogs — we want them to genuinely enjoy their time with us. 🐾 Caring for dogs fits naturally into our everyday life. As mentioned we have three dogs of our own, so walks, feeding, play, exercise and companionship are already part of our normal daily routine, along with anything else our beloved pets throw at us. We both enjoy being outdoors and can structure our days around the dogs in our care rather than trying to fit them into a busy schedule. Having two of us also means we can share responsibilities and give each dog plenty of individual attention, supervision and Whether your dog enjoys a good outdoor adventure or a quieter routine with shorter walks and plenty of company, we are happy to adapt our day to suit them. Safety and trust are extremely important to us. We understand that leaving your dog with somebody new can be worrying, so we want owners to feel completely comfortable and confident about the care their pet will receive. We have access to private fields with limitrd and no access, providing a better oppurtunity and environment for exercise, enrichment away from public spaces. We are also developing dedicated indoor and outdoor areas so dogs can have appropriate spaces for activity, rest and relaxation. We will always follow your instructions regarding feeding, walking, leads, routines, interaction with other dogs and any individual requirements. We never assume that because something is suitable for one dog it will be suitable for another. As we have dogs ourselves, introductions and compatibility are important to us. We want every dog in our care — including our own — to feel safe and comfortable. We are happy to discuss this fully and arrange an introduction before a stay where appropriate. We will provide responsible supervision, plenty of attention and a calm, caring environment, with your dog's welfare always coming first.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Burnley
Minx and Lewis were the perfect sitters for my fur baby Luna. She is a really shy timid cat with new people but by the end of the week she was starting to come out for them which is massive and was great to see her being so brave. We got regular updates and pictures which was really great and gave that peace of mind whilst we were away and just knew Luna was safe, happy and fed. Would 100% book with them again. Thanks so much again for having her 😊

Nikki took wonderful care of my cat while I was away. She sent regular photos and updates, which gave me real peace of mind and let me see how well my cat was doing. It was clear my cat was happy and well looked after, with daily grooming. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Nikki again and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.

Amy was very friendly when she came to see us before the holiday and got to know about Bella and her needs. I knew she would be in good hands, Amy sent photos and videos regularly, which was reassuring. I came home to a well looked after Bella. I would be happy to have Amy look after her again.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
