“Amy was very friendly when she came to see us before the holiday and got to know about Bella and her needs. I knew she would be in good hands, Amy sent photos and videos regularly, which was reassuring. I came home to a well looked after Bella. I would be happy to have Amy look after her again.”
“Lucy is a fantastic sitter! She came and had a pre meeting with us first to help the first visit, which put our minds at ease. Bertie loved seeing her and playing whilst we were at work. The reports she gave us were very detailed and gave us a great insight into some of new puppies behaviours. We will be definitely be calling on her services again in the near future!”

“Super friendly, sent photos and a daily update of the cats after each visit which I loved and was really re-assuring as one of the cats is very anxious so I don’t like leaving them. One had been a bit unwell prior to the visits and Minx knew exactly how to monitor and keep her hydrated etc. Couldn’t recommend them both enough and will be using again. Thanks again both!”

About: * Licenced * Animal First Aid * Insured * I’ve owned dogs and cats for over 30 years. I have attended good behaviour training classes with all my puppies. I walk with my dog twice a day, come rain or shine. I do weekly agility classes with him and teach him tricks to keep us both mentally and physically fit. Our animals are part of our family. I have recently retired as a HLTA/teaching assistant. I volunteer for a forest school one afternoon a week. I am free to walk, play and cuddle your pets all day every day and night time if you need. I have a large secure garden with some fun agility play equipment. I have easy access to open fields to walk, explore and play in. Your pets will have the run of my house, a choice of beds and a crate should they prefer. I will cater to the needs of your pets so they have the most enjoyable stay home from home.
About: I’ve been around animals, especially dogs, since early childhood - I’ve got a lot of core memories including family pets! I can pick up very easily any specific requirements and rules, and can read dogs’ body language. I just want the best experience for the animal and for the owner, especially to make people’s loves easier and give our animals the much needed attention and love they deserve. I’m currently a uni student with majority online learning meaning most days, with the occasional trip to Leeds, meaning I have the flexibility and time to fit your schedule. I’ve grown up with dogs ever since childhood and have had my own cat with my partner for a few months now. I’m very aware that pets need their space and need to be respected so I’m very responsive to the individual needs and personalities of each pet.
About: I’ve looked after animals most of my lifetime, mainly being brought up with cats (10+) and rabbits but being extremely fond of dogs. I have been using Rover for over two years now and have had multiple repeat owners, who have trust me to come to their home, stay or even keep a key to look after their pets. I’ve just started a new job wooo! Monday to Friday I work 9:00-5:30 however I can make my job flexible so something can be arranged through the week despite my calendar saying I’m not free. Weekends I’m mostly free unless I’ve made plans, so give me a quick message and we can sort something out😌 I have my own house and a back courtyard. I’m situated right next to fields and stream walks which makes it easy to keep distance from other dogs if necessary. I would provide the same attention to any pet as my own, regular water, feed, walk, toilet etc.
About: I grew up always having a dog in the family, my mum still has a Labrador now - the beautiful Tilly! But as I no longer live at home I don’t get the joy of a dogs company as much as I’d like! I love to get out for a walk during the day in between working and as sad as it sounds bumping into dogs on route is a highlight of my day!! I’d treat your dog with care and as if he/she is my own - just like a member of the family as that’s exactly what dogs are! I work from home 3/4 days per week so fitting pet care into this will be easy! I try to get out for a walk most days so I can easily incorporate dog walks into my day, or dog sitting in my house! I enjoy chilled weekends after working all week so more often than not I am around on weekends with no plans so can happily look after a dog across weekends too! I have a spacious house so there’s plenty of space for a dog to roam around, equally my office room is big enough to put a dog bed in if your dog wants to snooze the afternoon away whilst I’m working!
About: Hi! I'm an experienced dog handler with two high-drive, working line German Shepherds of my own. I compete in dog sports and truly understand what it takes to meet the mental and physical needs of energetic, driven dogs. I'm confident with all breeds and temperaments, including reactive dogs, and I always take a patient, positive approach. Of course, I also love caring for dogs who are just happy, relaxed companions—every dog is welcome here! Whether your dog is a playful puppy, an active adult, or a slower-paced senior, I tailor my care to suit their individual needs. Your dog's wellbeing and happiness are my top priorities, and you can trust that they’ll be treated like one of my own. After recently closing my dog treat business, I knew my heart was still firmly in the world of dogs. Transitioning into dog walking and drop-in visits feels like the perfect next step, and I’m excited to offer my full commitment to this work. I spend a lot of time exploring the beautiful, quiet areas around us, and being able to share those walks with other people’s dogs is something I genuinely look forward to. We’re lucky to live in a place with so many peaceful spots, which is ideal for dogs who may be reactive or need a more low-stress environment. This isn’t just a side job, it’s what I want to do full-time. I’m unavailable Saturdays and Sundays, as that’s dedicated to training at my dog sport club with my own two dogs. Otherwise, I’m here and ready to give your dog the care, exercise, and attention they deserve. When caring for your dog, my approach is always tailored to their individual needs. For dogs that require extra focus, I incorporate positive reinforcement techniques like focus work using food, helping keep them engaged and reinforcing good behavior. If your dog is already working with a trainer, I’m happy to continue with any commands or behaviors they’re learning, ensuring consistency in their training. I’m also mindful of each dog’s energy level and preferences, offering walks in quiet, peaceful areas or, if needed, I can book a secure field for more controlled, off-leash time. We are lucky to have access to local, secure dog-only fields, perfect for dogs who need a little extra space to run and play safely. Whether your dog is social, reactive, or needs a quiet walk, I ensure they get the care, exercise, and mental stimulation they need in a safe, positive environment.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pendle choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
