Lucy is absolutely lovely and our dog Glen fully adores her. She came to meet us before the sit to make sure her and him got on and we were fully comfortable with her. She also went out of her way to find out Glen's likes and dislikes from us, and deliver them for him. When it rained on the day she was sitting for him and he wouldn't go for a walk, she made sure he got time in the house to play with his ball so he wasn't bored. She took plenty of photos of him, kept us up to date, and at the end wrote a lovely report so we knew how his day had been. I'd super recommend her to anyone!

About: People either love dogs or they dont. Me and my partner who is setting up her own Rover/verification profile, just enjoy their company and if we can make a few pennies along the way, whilst sharing the joys, then why not? We now have access to fields where there are no public rights of way to give dogs a safe secure spot, especially if your pet is challenging. In line with this we now want customers that would prefer to drop their dogs off with us for 2hrs or more, so we can entertain your pets better. If you think your dog would love the same, then we are your walkers. All rates are priced hourly. If you just want house care then that is also available. I work as an hgv driver for aagencies and can choose my days/ times to suit both. However my aim is to be being out and about with bundles of paws, rather than stuck behind a steering wheel all day We can only do our best for you and your pet. It does not matter how much I write in this section, but a general chat and discussion about your needs would offfer all a better idea and hopefully more trusting fulfilment of needs for all.

It was our first time using Carrie to look after our dog, Arlo. She sent lots of pictures and videos of Arlo & Bella playing in the fields together, gave plenty of updates and was always easy to contact. The house has been left spotlessly clean including bed sheets and towels all washed for our arrival which was not expected at all. I think she even bathed our dog too which again completely exceeded my expectations. I’ll be very grateful and happy to use Carrie again in the future and would recommend her to anyone. Thanks so much Carrie & Bella xx

Tallyn was amazing. We had a pre meeting so he could meet Mylo and see where we live. He was extremely polite and very respectful of our home. Mylo absolutely loved him. We will be using Tallyn again. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a pet sitter.

Samantha was great - she followed Caspian’s routine and kept me updated with loads of photos. He was very happy when I got home and if I’m honest I think he’s been missing her since! Will definitely ask her to look after Caspian again in the future, as he clearly had a great time. Would enthusiastically recommend Samantha to anyone considering a sitter!

Zara came to our rescue agreeing to look after Herbie quite last minute which was so helpful! She was very calm and confident about everything, and had everything Herbie needed in her home, which made dropping him off so easy. She was friendly and playful and kept us regularly updated. Herbie clearly enjoyed his time with Zara and we would all be very happy for Zara to care for Herbie again! Thank you!

About: Hi, I’m Gabby! I’m 30 years old and a lifelong dog lover. I’ve grown up around dogs and I’m now the proud owner of my own cockapoo, Marley, who is 14 months old. Dogs are a huge part of my everyday life, and when I say my life revolves around them, it genuinely does! I love giving dogs the care, attention, exercise and affection they need to feel happy, relaxed and loved. Alongside caring for Marley, I regularly look after my dad’s two cockapoos (aged 14 months and 2 years old) when he’s working or away, as well as occasionally helping with my sister’s dog. I’m very comfortable caring for multiple dogs at once and understanding that every dog has their own personality, routine and individual needs. Marley is a very friendly, playful and sociable dog who loves meeting and spending time with other dogs. He is used to being around different breeds and personalities, which means any dog staying with us will have a friendly companion to enjoy walks, playtime and relaxation with (where appropriate). My dogs are walked several times a day, with at least four walks daily, alongside plenty of playtime, enrichment and outdoor adventures. I love being outdoors and spend a lot of my free time exploring the countryside, walking in the Lakes and going on hikes, so your dog will have plenty of opportunities for fun adventures and stimulating walks. I understand that dogs need more than just exercise — they need companionship, patience, mental stimulation and lots of affection. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of different temperaments and energy levels, from energetic dogs who love exploring, to those who prefer a calmer environment with lots of reassurance and cuddles. I work from home full time, which means I can offer lots of company, attention and flexibility throughout the day. Your dog will be welcomed into a caring environment where they can feel safe, comfortable and part of the family, with very little time spent alone. I know how much trust is involved when leaving your dog with someone, so I’ll always treat your pet as if they were my own. I’ll make sure they are happy, settled and well cared for, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you have peace of mind while you’re away. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your dog and provide them with a fun, safe and loving experience! **A typical day with me** Your dog can expect a fun, relaxed and loving home\-from\-home experience that fits around their usual routine. I do understand every dog is different, so I’ll always take the time to learn their personality, habits, exercise needs and any little quirks! My day with Marley usually involves plenty of outdoor time, with walks in the morning, afternoon, evening and a final walk later in the evening. Walks are typically around 30–40 minutes and include plenty of opportunities for sniffing, exploring, play and enrichment. Where appropriate and with your permission, I’m also happy to include safe off lead time in suitable areas. I have a large fenced garden which gives dogs plenty of space to relax, play and enjoy some fresh air throughout the day. As I work from home full time, your dog will have lots of company, attention and regular interaction rather than being left alone for long periods. I love being outdoors and spend a lot of my free time walking, hiking and exploring the countryside, so dogs who enjoy adventures will have lots of fun! Marley is also very friendly and sociable and loves having other dogs around, so your dog can enjoy the company of a canine friend if they are comfortable with that! Throughout the day there will be a balance of walks, playtime, enrichment, cuddles and relaxing. I will keep the routine as normal as possible to the home life so they feel safe, happy and settled while they’re with me. I understand that leaving your dog with someone is a big decision, and I know how important it is to feel confident that they are in safe and caring hands. Having grown up around dogs and being a dog owner myself, I understand that every dog is unique and has their own personality, routine and individual needs. I always take the time to get to know each dog and make sure they feel comfortable, settled and cared for. Your dog will be joining a calm, dog-friendly home where Marley is the only dog living here. He is a very happy and friendly dog who enjoys having canine company. We also have a large, fully fenced garden that dogs can enjoy safely, and there are no children in the home. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing will always be my priority. I’ll follow your instructions carefully, including feeding routines, exercise preferences and any specific requirements that help your dog feel happy and secure. I know how much dogs mean to their owners, so I’ll treat every dog with the same love, patience and attention that I would want for my own. I’ll keep you updated with regular messages and photos, giving you peace of mind that your dog is enjoying their time with me and receiving the best possible care.

Debbie and Andrew did a fantastic job looking after our two cocker spaniels while we were away on holiday for 10 days. It was the first time we had needed to use a dog sitter from outside our family group and we were therefore a little apprehensive about how they would fare in our absence. We needn’t have worried as we received regular detailed updates about how the dogs were doing along with lots of photos that gave us great reassurance. We would happily request Debbie and Andrew to look after our dogs again and I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Rowan sent regular updates for how the cats were getting on, including photos. Rowan followed everything we asked of them, which we're very grateful for! Vanessa stayed in my house whilst I was away for a week. She kept us updated with videos and msgs. She had plans for a day out in the week which we knew about. As Ted hadn’t been left alone all day before, and the weather was hot, she kindly cut her day short to make sure he was ok. We were very grateful for her kindness doing that and showed us how much she cared for Ted. It was lovely to see Ted happy and settled with her. Vanessa looked after him so well and I know he will miss her. We came home to a clean and tidy house, and a very content dog. Thankyou Vanessa.

FAQs for House Sitting - Pendle

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Pendle on Rover is £28.75 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 2,455 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pendle. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Pendle walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pendle choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
