We couldn't be happier. Otis can be a shy dog with new people but he seemed to take to Vee in practically no time. We received loads of updates and pictures and Otis had all the love and care we could've asked for! We absolutely will be booking in again, couldn't be anymore pleased!

I would highly recommend Jess. She is just brilliant with dogs, including my wonderful but challenging elderly EBT, Yana, who has dementia. We rarely leave Yana now, and usually only ever with close family members. However they were all attending our wedding! Finding Jess was such a blessing, Yana loves her - and we could relax during and enjoy our wedding day knowing she was in such caring hands. Whilst the house was in chaos, Jess was fabulous - keeping Yana fed and walked, and importantly calm and happy. We would definitely use Jess again.

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs of all sizes and breeds since I was 15. I love all animals, I’ve volunteered at a cat rescue so I am comfortable with being around more than one pet, especially hostile animals that need a bit more patience. I have been trusted with neighbours, friends and families dogs doing week long pet sitting for mixed pet households. I primarily work from home so I’m happy to stay over as long as I can connect to the WiFi! I am happy to do what is required of me to give your pet the experience that they deserve. Playing fetch, letting out for the toilet, going on short or long walks, building on existing training - can do! I’m working full time but primarily I work from home! I work 9-5 with a flexible dinner hour for any quick visits. For overnight or longer stays, as long as I can connect to the WiFi. I am free most weekends all day as well as mornings and evenings I adore animals and take the safety of everyone’s beloved pet as a priority. Your pet is my pet when in my care! I abide to your rules in your home, there is no such thing as too much of an ask when it comes to you and your pet being comfortable and safe in my care.

About: **DBS CHECKED** Hello! I’m Alex and I have cared for many breeds of dogs in the past, as well as my own cat Ivy for the past 3+ years and my 2 Guinea pigs, Churro and Viktor. I have owned many dogs previously, including Greyhounds, Staffies and even Cane Corsos. Additionally, I have also owned budgies, tropical fish and a tortoise. I always prioritise enrichment, exercise, affection and mental stimulation. The standard in which I care for my animals is very high and I believe it should be the same for all. I am currently working a part time job at an equine yard, but only work around 1-2 shifts a week. Now, as I recently graduated from college, I have a lot more free time and flexibility in my life and would love to fill this space with caring for dearly loved pets. A role of this nature is something I’ve been eager to do for a long time, as I love meeting unique furry personalities. Meeting animals with different traits and characteristics is always fun and interesting for me- and providing a great level of care for owners pets is something I love and enjoy greatly. I am happy to walk dogs for up to three times a day and would be willing to go on longer ones if this is requested and/or needed for the dog. I would prefer to care for animals at the owners location, due to my house being rather small and more of a cat-orientated household. However, I am happy to do daycare and may consider overnight care at my own home if I am comfortable with the situation and if I’m informed of important details e.g. temperament, size, bad behaviours. I am happy to do weekdays, holidays (summer, school, bank) and weekends if I am free and/or given enough time in advance. I have a fenced front and back garden and access to many suitable dog walking areas. Whether it’s a 15 minute stroll around the block, or a longer walk across the moors, I am more than up for it! A play and social session down at the local park is always a blast too. I am very fortunate to live in a great area for dog walking and adventures. I do own a cat and two Guinea pigs, but they are kept in a separate room (the cat goes outside but keeps to herself). My home has a high level of security, including CCTV cameras and multiple ring cameras too. I also have a wet room style bathroom so bathing medium sized dogs and under would be possible. I have a decently sized grass back garden and a small wood chip front garden. I also have an old dog kennel which is being used for storage, but if necessary, can be cleaned out for use. In terms of caring for a pet at the owners home, I have my own form of transport so commuting to the location wouldn’t be an issue (if it’s no more than around 20 miles from my location). I am perfectly comfortable staying over night and will happily adhere to any special arrangements and requests, such as number of walks per day, giving medications and specialist requirements. I am unable to walk large dogs if they are very reactive and strong pullers, otherwise I am totally happy. I do ask that I am informed of any personality traits or issues I need to be aware of e.g. is not friendly with other dogs, reactive to cats, must wear an muzzle etc. I have no personal preferences or limits when caring for cats, as I have lots of experience and knowledge- plus they’re quite a bit easier than dogs! Again, all I ask is to be informed of any medical requirements or specialist care for your pet.

We are so happy we chose Lou to look after our dog and cat while we went away to get married. Lou is friendly, kind, thoughtful, helpful and capable. We couldn't have asked for better. The pets were happy and relaxed when we got home and had clearly spent a lovely time with Lou. Lots of photos and videos and updates helped us feel relaxed and happy that all was well. Looking forward to having Lou back the next time we go away. Thanks a bunch Lou! :-).

About: I've always been an animal lover, and I have been caring for various pets for many years! I have my own cat, Tommy, who I've had the pleasure of taking care of over the past 10 years. Looking after him has given me hands-on experience with everything from feeding and grooming to recognising changes in his behaviour or health. Over the years, i have learned how important patience and building trust is with animals. In addition to caring for my own cat, I've also helped look after a dog for around 5 years. This included regular walks, feeding and playing. I helped with basic training such as reinforcing good behaviours on walks, as well as maintaining good routine and structure with him. As he can be quite an energetic dog, this experience has given me the confidence in handling dogs with various energy levels. I have also taken care of other cats and dogs for shorter periods of time. Whether it's been a few days or a weekend, I always make sure to provide them the best level of care and attention as I would with my own cat. I always ensure that pets in my care feel safe, loved and comfortable. I pay close attention to their needs and personalities to ensure I can give the best care possible. I currently work part-time, which gives me flexibility and plenty of time to provide attentive and consistent care for pets. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I make sure I plan my schedule around the needs of the animals I’m looking after. Because I’m not working full-time hours, I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and quality time throughout the week. I’m organised and reliable, and I always ensure pets are fed on time, exercised properly, and given lots of attention and affection. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully — including feeding routines, walking schedules, medication (if required), and any specific behavioural needs. I pay close attention to pets at all times and make sure they are kept in a secure and safe environment. I’m mindful of keeping doors and gates secure, avoiding unsafe foods or objects, and ensuring pets are supervised appropriately. I can also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel reassured while you’re away.

About: Hi, I'm a passionate dog lover with hands-on experience caring for dogs of different breeds, personalities, and needs. I have my own dog, Torrin, a 3-year-old German Wirehaired Pointer (GWP), who keeps me active and has given me valuable experience in training, exercise, and daily care. Over the past two years, I've also regularly looked after two dogs, Hattie and Senga, building strong relationships with both them and their owners. Through caring for multiple dogs, I've developed a good understanding of different temperaments, routines, and requirements, and I'm committed to providing a safe, reliable, and enjoyable experience for every dog in my care. Whether it's walks, drop-in visits, or overnight stays, I'll make sure your dog receives plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while you're away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I'll treat your dog as if they were my own. Pet care fits very easily into my routine, especially during the week as I'm currently on my university summer break and have a flexible schedule. This allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to walks, drop-in visits, and general pet care throughout the day. During term time and outside the summer period, I'm also available on occasional weekends and will always communicate my availability clearly in advance. I always aim to follow a pet's usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. Whether caring for pets in my home or in an owner's home, I make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and affection, along with fresh water, meals, and any other care instructions provided by the owner. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important consistency and communication are. I have a 3-year-old German Wirehaired Pointer, Torrin, and over the past two years I have regularly cared for two other dogs, Hattie and Senga. This experience has helped me become confident in managing different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so they can feel reassured that their pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while they're away.

About: I have been on rover since November 2023 and as massive dog lovers, we are having the time of our lives looking after other people's pets. Look at our reviews to see how happy and content all your pets are with us. I have recently started house sitting in your home too. I have had dogs all our life and been surrounded by dogs in the family since childhood. I have a Labrador called Bella who is 7, she is great with other dogs and very well behaved. She is a real pampered pooch, regularly exercised and has lots of cuddles. Unfortunately we lost Ted our 8 year old Labrador to cancer in September 24, you will most likely read a lot about him in our reviews. We now have Nelly who is a 1 year old lab. Both are great with dogs, however they don’t always have to come to your house when I am dog sitting, sometimes they can stay at home. Monday to Friday Maria works from home so your pooch will have lots of company and cuddles. I work local to home for lunchtime walks. On evening and weekends I run or walk with Bella, so your dog will get plenty of exercise. We have a large enclosed garden for safety , Bella sleeps downstairs in the kitchen or living room, your dog can sleep up or downstairs.

About: I’ve lived in BD13, Thornton for over 30 years, and have been a dog owner for the last 10 years. I retired from FT work in 2024, so have plenty of spare time. I walk daily, no matter what the weather, and know some great off road routes for dog walking, so can help your dog maintain a level of fitness if for any reason you’re unable to do so, whether due to health issues, or because of work or family commitments, or if you just need a break! I’ll record walks on Strava so you can see what exercise your dog has done, and I’ll send you pics to show your doggie having fun! Car owner, so can drive to / from anywhere local. For home boarding, I live with my wife of 33 years, along with Angus, our 12 year old Jack Russell Terrier. If your dog stays with us, they will be welcomed, and treated as our own. I retired from full time work in 2024, so have plenty of time to spare, and can offer dog care / walking services on most days. Even if it’s just a one off, to support your dog whilst you’re away for a special occasion, I can hopefully help out. My house has a lovely green garden, mostly fenced, so if your pet isn’t ready for walking the full requested period, they can relax either in my house or garden whilst you have time out! I will record all walks on strava, and send you screenshots of routes, so you know your dog has been exercised, aswell as pics if you wish.

About: I have always been surrounded by pets since childhood. I currently reside in a lovely new build property in Bradford, featuring five bedrooms and a large rear garden located on a quiet cul-de-sac. I've set up a small play area inside our garage specifically for the pets. I have a five-year-old Yorkshire Terrier whom I take for walks twice a day. As I work full-time working from home , Hence I am home with my dog for most of the time. Additionally, I have installed CCTV inside the house to keep a close eye on them. The garden is fenced, providing a secure environment, and my little Yorkie is a delightful companion to keep your pet entertained. I also have plenty of pet-safe toys and treats available for them to enjoy. In my daily routine, pet care is a fundamental aspect that I prioritize. Each day begins with taking my Yorkshire Terrier for a morning walk, which not only provides her with exercise but also helps to set a positive tone for the day. After my walk, I ensure she has her meals and ample playtime, incorporating interactive toys to keep her mentally stimulated. During my work hours, I maintain my dog’s well-being by ensuring she has access to her play area and is monitored through our indoor CCTV system. This allows me to keep a watchful eye on her while I’m busy with work tasks. In the evenings, I dedicate time to another walk, providing her with physical exercise and the opportunity to explore. I also make it a point to engage in playtime and training sessions during the week, reinforcing good behavior and strengthening our bond. On weekends or my days off, I like to enhance our routine with longer outings or trips to pet-friendly parks, which provide additional socialization and adventure. Overall, pet care is seamlessly integrated into my daily and weekly schedule, ensuring a happy and healthy life for my dog while maintaining my responsibilities. When caring for pets in my home or a pet owner's home, I follow a comprehensive approach that prioritizes their health, safety, and well-being. Here are the key aspects of my care routine: 1. **Environment**: I ensure that the living space is safe and secure. This includes pet-proofing areas by removing hazards and ensuring that all spaces are fenced or gated if necessary. I also provide a comfortable sleeping area and ensure that the temperature is suitable for the pets. 2. **Feeding**: I follow the pet owner's feeding plan, adhering to specific dietary needs and schedules. I provide fresh water at all times and ensure that food bowls are clean and easily accessible. 3. **Exercise**: Regular exercise is crucial for pets. I take them for walks, engage in playtime, and provide plenty of opportunities for physical activity. This helps them burn off energy and stay healthy. 4. **Mental Stimulation**: I offer a variety of toys and activities to keep pets mentally engaged. Interactive toys, puzzles, and training sessions are integrated into the daily routine to promote cognitive development. 5. **Health Monitoring**: I observe pets for any signs of illness or discomfort. If any issues arise, I communicate promptly with the pet owner and seek veterinary care if necessary. 6. **Hygiene**: I maintain cleanliness by regularly grooming the pets, bathing them as required, and keeping their living area tidy. This includes cleaning litter boxes for cats or keeping the yard clean for dogs. 7. **Affection and Socialization**: I provide plenty of love and attention, allowing pets to feel secure and happy. This may include cuddling, petting, and ensuring they receive social interaction with other pets or people. By following these practices, I ensure that pets receive compassionate and thorough care, whether in my home or theirs, creating a nurturing and loving environment.

About: I have taken care of my neighbours dogs in numerous occasions and have had 10 years worth of experience with 3 cats of my own. I understand how dearly pet owners love their pets; as if they were their own children (I know I do!) and therefore believe that I would be a great carer for your little ones as you enjoy your break! I am a Biomedical science University student living at home and have a lot of free time to take care of and provide attention to your pets! I am also trained in lab skills and know what behaviours in animals would be alarming. I can maintain the same or a very similar routine for your pets as the ones they follow when you are around, I am a massive animal lover and can take really good care of your fur babies

Excellent. Lovely personality, wonderful with our furbabies who had a wonderful time with her and her dog and other ne playmates they made friends with, when they were being looked after while we were away for the day. As far as we are concerned she is our family dog minder and walker for life and it is a weight off our minds to know she will be there when required.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bradford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
