Through Nova’s love, care and attention, we have 100% peace of mind that the boys are OK while we are on holiday. We have used Nova quite a few times over the years, and I cannot praise or recommend Nova highly enough, like I said in my first review about Nova, our world would be a lot nicer if there were more people like Nova in it.”

“I could not recommend Penny enough! We booked quite last minute and we needed someone for 8 nights to look after our dog Bou. Penny was so quick to respond and come round to meet Bou. I’ve never had anybody stay in my house before to dogsit so I was apprehensive, but as soon as I met Penny I had absolutely no worries at all! Bou loved her immediately and I could tell how amazing she was with animals. A huge plus was she gave regular updates all throughout the week including photos and videos of Bou which was lovely, we felt so at ease, we could really switch off and enjoy our holiday knowing Bou was in the comfort of her own home with someone she loved. I’m not sure she even missed us once 🤣 she enjoyed her walks, cuddles and company and we’ve come home to the house as we left it. We will 10000% be using Penny again in the future. About: I’ve had dogs in my wider since I was young, having a dog in my direct family since I was 13. When I moved away from home, I had some pet-less years but more recently since 2024, I became a cat dad to 2x 13yr old Short hairs. I work remotely and usually from home - so I can always travel with my laptop if needs be. Otherwise I start at 8am and finish at 4pm for morning and night drop ins. I lead an active lifestyle, so I can keep your pets active with me, if they need that energy expenditure I am aware of the care needed when entering a new space, especially keeping routine for pets and spaces hospitality tidy. A stranger in a new space is always daunting, but I lead with care.

About: I’ve just completed a 2 year animal management course at Askham Bryan College. I have experience working at a dog kennels, a dog training club and a doggy daycare! I have always loved animals, I don’t remember a time I haven’t had some kind of pet. I feel confident with different breeds of dogs and can work with any specialised needs they may have. I also feel comfortable looking after cats (I have 4 of my own and have past experience cat sitting). I’m currently completing a college course, it is only 1 day in person a week - the rest is online. This means my schedule is very flexible. The only day I need to be out is Thursdays from 9.30am to 4.30pm. I have lots of experience with animals, from my personal life and from college and work experience. College has helped me identify and understand safety risks and safety measures to take, including following legislation to protect both animals and people.

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs many times, having had a dog myself when I was younger. I now have a cat who requires occasional medication so able to do this also! I work from home and I’m able to be fairly flexible around the needs of your pet, whether that’s morning visits, over lunch or in the evening! I have a cat of my own, however if someone wants or needs their cat to come to my home, I’m able to keep them separate if they’re wary of each other or don’t get along!

About: I've been a lifelong dog lover and owner. Apart from the Yorkshire terrier I had as a child, I've always been a fan/owner of rescue dogs, all shapes n size's n ages n medical needs and more. I'm happy to give animals any medication they may need, I understand if any pets have fears about other dogs, or objects. I can appreciate if you or your pet have any routines that need to be followed, and I will always abide by any rules/needs you and your pet have. I've experience of nervous dogs. I've also self funded my level 3 qualification in canine first aid, and I'm always keen to learn more about animals, dogs in particular, their psychology needs, training, behaviour. And I looked after a friend's housecat in January, so I've learned to change litter trays, and the importance of keeping housecats safe. My friends cat needs medication at set times through the day, so I got up early to give this, I adapted to the needs of the cat, and I'd do the same for any animal. It is a long time since I had rabbits, guinea pigs etc, but if you can educate about what you require me to do for your pet, then I'm eager to learn! Currently I help to care for my elderly father part time, but I have plenty of time to care for your pet needs. I don't have any children, and are unable to have my own pets , so I'd love to help other people care for their pets. I'm very adaptable, I drive my own car, I'm happy to work around your schedule. All I want to do is keep your pet and yourself happy. I adapt to whatever the situation I'm in presents to me. I understand that as humans are unique, so are our pets too. Keeping pets to routine they are used to me matters hugely to me, and equally keeping pets safe is of the utmost importance to me. As is respecting your and your pets privacy, I would never take a photo of your pet without permission, and I'd never post on social media. When I had my own dogs, I'd get up and let them into the garden if needed, then a cuddle and fuss, give them a little bit of breakfast, I'd have a cuppa, get dressed, and we would go for a walk. Then back home, a clean up if needed, a treat for them. If they wanted to play with toys then we would, if they wanted a nap they had one. Then another walk in the afternoon, then their main meal around 5pm, a dental stick around 6.30pm. Then more play if wanted, outside in the garden. Or snuggling on the sofa with me. I've tended to have mature dogs who enjoyed snoozing, but I was happy to go with whatever the dogs wanted. If my dogs needed it, they were bathed outdoors, as my bathroom is small lol.

About: I have lived on a small holding my whole life, caring for various animals including domestic, farm, and exotic pets. I have been part of the Riding for Disabled and 4 the Love of Cats (charity), as well as having experience in training Police dogs and horses. I care for my parents three dogs (two Golden Retrievers and a Cocker Spaniel) at their home when they go away on holiday. I am currently not working, so I have a flexible schedule to care for your pets at any time of the day or night, other than Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. I am happy to travel anywhere within my 10 mile working radius as I have a car, and can even take your pet out on a nature trip so long as they travel well. I am flexible in my care and can abide by any rules and schedules you set as long as you write it down for me.

About: I am a qualified dog grooming teacher with over 10 years’ experience in training individuals to become skilled, compassionate, and responsible groomers. My teaching goes far beyond coat care — I focus on the overall health and wellbeing of dogs, ensuring learners understand how grooming plays a vital role in early detection of health issues such as skin conditions, parasites, ear infections, and behavioural concerns. I also teach safe handling, salon hygiene/biosecurity, first aid, and client communication, preparing learners for both employment and running their own grooming businesses. A key part of my teaching is upholding and promoting the Five Animal Welfare Needs as outlined in the Animal Welfare Act. I ensure the learners understand how to create a safe, low-stress environment for each dog, and how to respect their emotional and physical needs throughout. This includes recognising stress signals, understanding behavioural needs, and always grooming in a way that protects dogs from pain, suffering, injury, or disease. Over the years, I’ve proudly trained hundreds of groomers, many of whom have gone on to build successful careers. I’m passionate about raising standards in the dog world and believe that this starts with having the knowledge and skills. Dogs are able to travel to work with me and are in my care all day. They are regularly taken out for rest breaks whilst at work. They have access to fresh clean water and are walked often. During the school holidays I am at home with the dogs all day. My garden is completely secure, it is fenced off around both sides and I have a garage at the other side that is connected to my house. Dogs will also have their own safe place to go and relax.
