“Katie was amazing with my Dogue de Bordeaux. From the moment she met her, Harper loved her and I knew she'd be in good hands. I received regular updates throughout the booking too. I came back to a very happy pooch and Katie had treated the house with the upmost respect. I would definitely recommend Katie and will definitely book her again in the future. Thank you so much Katie for the love you gave to Harper (and Smartie the cat!) 😊”

About: Hi, I am Natalie I have a little Tibetan Spaniel called Bella, she is a massive part of our family and there is never a dull moment when she is around. She turns the incredible age of 18 in November! She does go to my parents as she is a family pet so this isn't a issue if dogs dont get on she will go to my mum and dad's house. I have a great experience with animals, often rescuing wild injured animals and also being a voulenteer for The Guide Dogs in chesterfield. I have owned hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, budgies and dogs. I love hiking, yoga and swimming. I also have a big passion for travel our recent trip being America and visiting Yellowstone and Montana seeing the beautiful grizzly bears with their babies. Your beautiful fur babies are in the best hands with me and will get treat like part of the family ! I also do a lot of hiking so am happy to take the dogs out with me too if wanted. I am currently working part time so will have plenty of time for your animals, I like to board mostly over the weekend but this is not always an absolute must. I have a lovely fenced secure garden for your pooches to play in. We also have stairgates top and bottom, our dog is elderly so we had these put in place to reduce the risks of falls. A big open plan kitchen and dinner for the animals to have lots of space in.
About: I do work in the office but am able to come home on lunch for an hour to walk & play. I only care for one pet family at a time so don’t worry about anxious dogs mixing. All my day care & boarding services include walks - no extra cost! Growing up with dogs, I’ve developed an intuitive understanding of their needs. From playful pups to senior dogs, I’ve cared for them all! I have dealt with medication for heart diseases and epilepsy and understand the importance of routine and timing for medication. I grew up with chihuahuas and a shitzu. I understand the need to adapt to different behaviours and anxieties. Most importantly I understand the need for dogs to feel loved and involved whilst their pet parents are away. I understand that communication is key when trusting someone to care for your dog and I will go above and beyond to keep you updated on your dogs day. Trust is the most important thing! I love all different breeds of dogs. I feel like I have a great understanding of their different types of needs depending on breed. I understand toy breeds unique needs, combining vigilance for their safety with a gentle approach to their emotional well-being. I understand that they may not need as much strenuous exercise as larger breeds, but they thrive on companionship and consistent routines, often being content with a short walk and plenty of lap time. Given their small bladders, I understand they may require more frequent potty breaks than larger dogs. I am extra cautious during walks, using appropriate safety equipment like a secure harness to prevent accidents, and being aware of other, potentially larger, animals that could scare them or put them in danger. I am able to accept boarding at my own home with my partner at the weekends and also midweek as long as you are happy for me to work in the office and come home on my lunch hour (I work 5 mins away) to let your dog out for walk and spend time with them (left 4 hours at a time). I can walk your dogs in the morning before work and in an evening too. We have no pets so your doggies have our full attention. I have a secure garden and allow any dogs to roam all of the house. We are closed to parks and fields and so there is plenty of outdoor space for them to enjoy! I only board one pet family at a time & am happy to adjust to yours dogs needs. I can follow any crate training too.

About: As a lifelong owner of both cats and dogs, animals are a massive part of my life. I have extensive experience caring for friends' and family members' pets, offering everything from quick drop-in visits to overnight stays. I am an active person who genuinely loves being outdoors, so I am always happy to spend my time taking dogs on long, refreshing walks to keep them happy and exercised. I am incredibly comfortable handling a wide variety of breeds and sizes, ranging from my own tiny, energetic Maltese to large breeds like German Shepherds. Whether your pet needs a long walk, a strict feeding routine, or just lots of cuddles while you're away, I promise to treat them like my own! I work full-time with a hybrid routine, which gives me great flexibility! On weekends, I am completely free and available for pet sitting, long walks, and drop-in check-ins, meaning your pet will get my undivided attention all weekend. During the week, my hybrid schedule allows me to easily accommodate dog walks and drop-in visits around my working hours. I am highly organised and always ensure pet care integrates seamlessly into my routine, so your pet will always get their exercise and attention exactly when they need it To ensure your pet feels completely safe and comfortable, I offer care exclusively in the comfort of your own home. Pets thrive best in their familiar surroundings, and staying in their own environment helps maintain their normal routine and reduces any separation anxiety.
“I can wholeheartedly recommend Fabiana and her partner Mateo for dog/ house sitting. We are always nervous about leaving our dog when we go away but they stayed in our home and ensured that he was properly looked after whilst we were away; they even worked their shifts together to give him his usual number of daily walks and not disrupt his routine. We will definitely ask Fabiana first before we go anywhere else. Thank you so much for the videos, updates and peace of mind!!!”

About: I took care of my cousin’s Husky puppy Momo in the teenager years. I helped him with learning to pee outdoor and walked him when my cousin was busy at work. That was my first experience taking care of a pet and absolutely loved it. Last year I pet sat for Dozy a 3 years old Weimaraner, Heiniu a 16 years old small dog and Badger a rescue cat for a couple when they were away in Spain. Recently I helped pet sitting my friend’s Maltese Lai who is less than a year old when she went on a holiday with her family. I am also an active 5-starred member on THS which I use when I go on travelling:) I’m very flexible with my time, I’ve just finished my gap year travelling around the world and currently I am mostly applying jobs online at home :) However, I’d still appreciate giving a bit of notice for pet sitting just so I can make sure I am able to do it:) Unfortunately, I won’t be able to board your furry ones at mine as I am lodging in someone’s house but I am happy to walk, drop-in and house sit:)
“I decided to try housesitting as my cat has struggled with my previous arrangements during holidays. I was very nervous about it as I’ve never used a house-sitter before. I’m so glad I found Jordan and booked him. He was wonderful. Jordan took very good care of the house and made sure my cat was happy. I received lots of updates and pictures which gave me enormous peace of mind. My cat had a lovely time hanging out with Jordan and was sad when he left! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jordan or book him again in the future 😊”

I’m always in and my partner works from home, we are very flexible and always at home. My dog loves company and has the friendliest temperament. She’s in her element when she has a friend. Doggy daycare with a hint of boarding for your pooches. My Italian greyhound has the sweetest friendliest temperament which calms new dogs on their first visit especially those that are anxious to new places. I have daycare dogs most days who are all treated like my own, they have run of the house and garden and are all calm and friendly in temperament and I wish I could adopt them all. I would have a clan of dogs if I could, but for now this is the next best thing. I will treat your dog like they are part of the family they won’t know you’ve gone. Plenty of treats walks and attention. I always do a meet and greet and I am happy to do free trial hours for those doggy’s that need a little extra to be reassured they’re in a safe space. Sent pictures of our pup our entire vacation and was so understanding when work men needed to be at our house while we were away due to a leak from the rain. We super appreciated her flexibility and she left the house looking great & pup feeling loved.”

About: I grew up with dogs in our household and for the last 20 years I've had my own dogs but lost my last one, Sanza, a Toy Poodle, in June 2025. I dog sit two Dachshund sisters aged 15 regularly and enjoy it very much. I love dogs and would treat your dogs as if they were my own. Your pet's comfort, happiness and safety is my priority. I have experience of giving medication via injection as my dog was diabetic and had to have insulin injections twice a day as well as oral medication. I also have experience of looking after senior dogs as I have cared for dogs who are 14 and 15 years old. I am available to look after your dogs in my home or at your home so they have as little disruption to their routine as possible. I am retired so I'am at home all day so can look after your pets whenever you need me. I'm very flexible and can adjust my schedule to fit in around your needs. I have an enclosed garden which is fully fenced/ brick wall. The garden is very secure. I live in a semi detached bungalow so there are no stairs to climb. I have lots of toys for your dogs to play with. I am available to look after them in their own home or at my home. I am retired so I am around all the time to look after your dogs. I prefer to look after small dogs but will look after medium sized dogs as long as they walk well on the lead as I walk with a crutch so can't manage to walk large dogs who pull or lunge too strongly when they react to other dogs. I do not look after large dogs for safety reasons.
“The dogs were all very happy having Lauren around to look after them. Dennis Spaniel can be a little tricky but Lauren was happy to manage him following my instructions and after a long walk together he flaked out.”

About: I’ve been lucky enough to spend my life surrounded by animals of all shapes and sizes – from playful pups and cuddly cats to tropical fish, and even bees! 🐝 Animals have always been a huge part of my world, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I have hands-on experience looking after dogs, cats, and fish. I’ve also trained my own dogs, which means I understand how important patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement are. Whether it’s a puppy learning the ropes, or an older dog who needs a gentler pace, I adapt to each animal’s unique needs. With bees, I’ve learned the importance of calm handling, respect, and attentiveness – skills I bring to all the pets I care for. Safety, trust, and making sure your pet feels comfortable are always my top priorities. Your furry (or finned!) family member will be cared for as if they were my own – with love, attention, and plenty of fun. A Day in My Care 🐾 • Morning Walks (7am – 9am): A refreshing start to the day with plenty of exercise, sniffing, and tail wags. Perfect for dogs who like to burn off energy first thing. Session length can be discussed. • Midday Visits (11am – 2pm): Feeding, toilet breaks, playtime, or a calm walk — tailored to your pet’s routine. • Afternoon Adventures (3pm – 5pm): Shorter walks as welcome as the longer ones, or quieter sessions in the garden depending on your dog’s needs. • Evening Check-Ins (6pm – 8pm): Dinner, toilet breaks, and some quiet companionship to wind down. Your pet’s safety and happiness always come first. I understand how much trust it takes to let someone else care for your furry family member, and I take that responsibility seriously. • Safety: I keep walks controlled, calm, and enjoyable. I only use secure leads and harnesses, avoid unsafe areas, and always pay attention to your dog’s comfort and limits. It’s always good to get to know your dog beforehand so let me know what they’re like both inside and outside, any behavioural quirks or anything else you might think useful. • Trust: Animals respond best when they feel safe and respected. I will take time to get to know your pet’s personality so they can relax and enjoy themselves while you’re away. • Environment: I adapt to your pet’s routine and surroundings to reduce stress and keep things familiar. Walks can be energetic adventures or calm strolls, depending on what your dog needs. You can feel confident knowing your pet will be cared for with patience, consistency, and kindness — as if they were my own.

What can I say other than Fabiana is an excellent house-sitter. She looked after our two pups for 3 days, took them for long walks, provided us with plenty of pictures and videos, and really looked after the house, even doing some of our laundry (which was a really pleasant surprise!). If you have any house-sitting needs, I highly recommend you engage with Fabiana. We'll definitely do it the next time we're away from home.

Jordan looked after my dog Milo overnight as he does not cope well with kennels. Milo had met him twice prior to the booking and always a good sign when he wagged his tail at Jordan on seeing him. Jordan took onboard all Milo’s individual characteristics for dog walks as he is reactive. Plenty of contact and photos during the visit added to feeling relaxed about leaving Milo at home. Jordan gives off such a calming persona and this is much welcomed. Would book again when the need arises 👍

Sue is THE BEST. She cares so much about my dog that I don't have a worry in the world leaving him with her. Sue is caring, thoughtful, warm and friendly. I would recommend Sue to anyone looking for someone to leave their precious pets with - you're in more-than-safe hands. We'll have Sue back any time we are away in the future! Thank you ever so much, Sue xxx

Kirsty was amazing with our cats. She was friendly and attentive and genuinely cared about them. Some of our cats are quite timid so we weren’t expecting them to be seen at all but Kirsty was patient with them and they even took some treats from her 🩷 her updates were frequent and made us feel much better about leaving them. Would recommend to anyone and will be asking her back!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Chesterfield walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chesterfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
