Nichole arrived on time, spent time familiarising herself with Nell & Arlo’s routine and our home layout. We went on a short walk to allow the dogs to bond with Nichole and to assist with knowledge of dog walks in our area. The appointment was great to cover any queries. Feel totally confident our dogs are in good hands with Nichole. Nichole is very friendly and approachable, soon becomes apparent she loves what she does and cares for all animals.

New to the area and to finding a house sitter for my 3 dogs I felt confident leaving them in Lauren's charge. They were all happy to see her again after our initial meet and greet. I have already booked Lauren for another visit.

We'd like to thank Izzy for looking after our three dogs and our home so well. They weren't all that excited to see us when we returned which is always a sign that they enjoyed being looked after by someone else. Thanks again, Izzy.

Lara was fantastic housesitting looking after our pets, they all had a great time with her! I feel like they hardly noticed we left 😂 she texted us photos of them while we were away which was lovely and appreciated. The house was nice and clean when we came back as well. Christoper provided a great service looking after our doggies. He was greeted with a poorly dog and coped beyond what we had expected. Daily updates were much appreciated and kept us at ease. I hope he enjoyed.

This is the first time I have used David. He turned up right on time and my dog Laika took to him straight away. David was respectful of my property and left it clean, tidy and secure. Very pleased as this is the first time I have used a home sitter/dog walker in many, many years. Already have further bookings with David.

About: I grew up with dogs in our household and for the last 20 years I've had my own dogs but lost my last one, Sanza, a Toy Poodle, in June 2025. I dog sit two Dachshund sisters aged 15 regularly and enjoy it very much. I love dogs and would treat your dogs as if they were my own. Your pet's comfort, happiness and safety is my priority. I have experience of giving medication via injection as my dog was diabetic and had to have insulin injections twice a day as well as oral medication. I also have experience of looking after senior dogs as I have cared for dogs who are 14 and 15 years old. I am available to look after your dogs in my home or at your home so they have as little disruption to their routine as possible. I am retired so I'am at home all day so can look after your pets whenever you need me. I'm very flexible and can adjust my schedule to fit in around your needs. I have an enclosed garden which is fully fenced/ brick wall. The garden is very secure. I live in a semi detached bungalow so there are no stairs to climb. I have lots of toys for your dogs to play with. I am available to look after them in their own home or at my home. I am retired so I am around all the time to look after your dogs. I prefer to look after small dogs but will look after medium sized dogs as long as they walk well on the lead as I walk with a crutch so can't manage to walk large dogs who pull or lunge too strongly when they react to other dogs. I do not look after large dogs for safety reasons.

About: I’ve mainly looked after dogs for friends and family! Being where I live it’s a very happy place for a dog to run around! I’m very flexible as I can work from my phone with very flexible hours. I’m able to work anywhere at anytime! This works perfectly for me being a pet sitter. I live in a gated house with a big garden with many fields around me perfect for dog walks and a few streams near for a little swim!

About: Hi, I’m Phoebe, an experienced and reliable dog walker who genuinely loves spending time with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. I’ve had hands-on experience with a range of dogs, from gentle, easygoing companions like my own Lab/collie Milo (“Spuds”) to energetic, intelligent pups like my new addition golden retriever Goose. I understand that every dog is different, and I always adapt my approach to suit their individual needs; whether that’s a calm, steady walk, a fun and engaging play session, or simply providing company and reassurance. My two friendly, well-socialised dogs will join your pooch (unless you specified otherwise), on a pack walk, drop-in session or day-care adventure. This is a particularly great socialisation opportunity for dogs who enjoy canine company, come from a single-pup household or would benefit from some confidence building with other dogs in a safe and controlled environment. I’m confident with reinforcing good behaviour both inside the home and whilst out and about. Safety, trust, and making sure your dog feels happy and comfortable are always my top priorities. Pet care fits really naturally into my day as I work part-time from home, so I have a lot of flexibility. I tend to start my mornings early, which works perfectly for dogs who need a good walk or some attention before the day gets busy. Because I’m home-based, I can plan my day around the dogs I’m looking after, whether that’s longer walks, more active playtime, or just keeping them company so they’re not left on their own for too long. I’m able to be present and not rushed, which I think makes a big difference. It’s something I genuinely enjoy building into my routine, not squeezing in, so each dog gets the time, care, and attention they need to feel happy and settled. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I’m based in a quiet, rural area with access to safe walking routes and open spaces, ideal for calm, enjoyable walks and enrichment. My approach is always centred around creating a positive, secure, and stress-free experience for every dog in my care. My two friendly, well-socialised dogs, Milo (“Spuds”) and Goose, can also be involved in walks where appropriate, giving your dog the opportunity to enjoy positive pack walks, socialisation, and confidence-building in a safe and controlled environment. Whether I’m caring for your dog during walks, drop-in visits, or pet sitting in your own home, I take a thoughtful and attentive approach, ensuring the environment is safe, familiar, and suited to their needs. I stick closely to your dog’s usual routine, including feeding, exercise, and any specific instructions, so they feel settled and comfortable. I never leave dogs unsupervised and am confident handling different personalities, from energetic and playful to more sensitive, nervous or relaxed dogs, always prioritising calm, positive interactions. You can trust that your dog will be cared for as if they were my own; safe, well looked after, and given plenty of attention, affection, and reassurance while placed in my care.

About: I’ve taken care of a range of animals my whole life, my neighbours have asked me to take care of their pets ranging from a quick pop in to feed the cat, a lap round the village with the dog, putting the geese away at night and dog sat for many an evening. I am a student who has just moved home from university and am writing my dissertation so I have a very free and open schedule at the moment. I ensure that I have asked the owners all necessary questions in order to feel comfortable with the animal and ensure I can provide them with the very best care.

This is the first time I’ve left my dog with a sitter and I couldn’t have asked for better. My dog Barker was completely at ease from the very first minute which is a real testament to how Madeleine is with dogs. She kept us up to date throughout our holiday with fab pictures and stories which showed that our dog was having a brilliant time and was relaxed and happy. The house was in perfect condition on my return too, A very happy customer!

We couldn’t recommend Eve enough! Eve looked after our dog for a week while we were away on holiday, and she was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. We felt completely at ease knowing she was being so well cared for, and it was lovely to know she was happy and settled while we were away. Eve was reliable, caring and clearly has a genuine love for dogs. She kept us updated throughout the week, which was really reassuring and meant we could properly relax and enjoy our holiday without worrying. We came home to one very happy and well looked after dog! 🐾 We’d have absolutely no hesitation in asking Eve to look after her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring. Thank you so much, Eve!

Evie did a wonderful job looking after my cat, Ted, while I was on holiday. She made the effort to get to know Ted and learn about his routines and favourite toys before the visit. During my trip Evie kept me updated with messages and lots of lovely pictures of Ted so I could see he was happy. I came home to a spotless house and a very happy cat, who had enjoyed his week with Evie. He is already missing her. I would definitely recommend Evie and will be hoping to book her again in the future!

Eve is the perfect pet sitter! Our two sausage dogs absolutely loved her and you could tell how much she cared for them too. From her first introductory message all the way through to finishing a two-night pet sit, Eve was professional, friendly and a great communicator. She made us feel completely at ease knowing our boys and the house were in safe hands. The regular updates were really appreciated and our house was left in spotless condition - with two very happy, walked and waggy-tailed dogs to return home to. Thanks so much Eve, we will 100% be booking you again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Derbyshire Dales walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Derbyshire Dales choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
