“Absolutely fantastic sitter!! First time going away without taking Teddy with us so we were so happy to leave him in good company with Ellen!! Such an amazing job! The daily pup-dates were soo lovely and informative! 🥰🐾🐶 definitely rebooking!! Xoxo”

“Laura was a fantastic dog sitter! She stayed at our home for three nights, took our dog on lovely walks, and left everything clean and tidy. We would happily recommend her.”

“I can’t recommend Nikeisha enough, communication was excellent and everything went so well despite my last minute request. My dog is very anxious around new people to say the least, but she is a complete natural and Luna loves her. This is the longest I’ve been away from her, but I felt no worries at all. Don’t hesitate to book with Nikeisha!!! Thank you so much xxx”

“I would highly recommend Amy as a house sitter. She was fantastic for a week with our adolescent GSD mix (looks like a labradoodle!) she was great keeping us updated, kept him well walked and played with, even in extreme heat, and treated our home with respect, it was left impeccably! Amy met with our dog before the sitting and kept us updated throughout the week. I would highly recommend her and we will definitely be using Amy again. Thanks so much Amy.”

“Grace did a great job taking care of our greyhound Scout. She arrived on time and gave us some updates through the day. Scout was treated to some snacks and a nice woodland walk. Gave us total peace of mind, and we won't hesitate to book Grace again!”

“Wonderful as always to have Shannon looking after our German Shepherd. She did really well to keep her engaged through the heatwave! Great communication and updates throughout our 3 week holiday”

About: I have owned and cared for my Poodle since 2018. Although my dog is currently back home, my love for dogs has never changed. I miss spending time with dogs, so I decided to become a pet sitter. I care for only one dog at a time. This allows me to give each dog my full attention, care, and affection. I know every dog has its own routine and personality. I will follow your dog’s usual schedule for meals, walks, playtime, and rest. I can administer oral medication if needed. Walks will be tailored to your dog’s age, health, and energy level. I do not have any other pets at home. Your dog will enjoy a calm, safe, and comfortable environment. I will send regular photo and video updates throughout every stay. My goal is to help your dog feel happy, relaxed, and loved until you return. I have a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide plenty of attention throughout the day. Your dog will have regular toilet breaks (4-6hours/ except night time), regular walks (more than 2 times, more than 30mins per walk), exercise, playtime, and companionship, and will never left alone. I care for only one dog at a time, allowing me to give your dog my full attention. I do not have any other pets at home. I will follow your dog’s usual routine, administer oral medication if needed, and send regular photo and video updates.

“Maddison did a great job in looking after our Cavapoo, Teddy, when we went away for 5 days. We came back from our trip to find him happy and relaxed. Maddison had continued his routine well, feeding & settling him, plus taking him for regular walks. Communications were great with Maddison and she looked after everything well in our home. I would have no hesitation in booking Maddison again to look after Teddy.”

“Priscila took very good care of our beloved pooch whilst we were away. Willow is a large dog who does not get on with all dogs. There were no issues whilst she looked after her and we were provided with regular updates and photos. The house was spotless when we returned and Willow seemed very well looked after. Priscila's communication was great, feeding and medication instructions were followed and she was very quick to reply to communications. I would recommend her strongly to any dog owner!”

“Sophie was great, did what she said she would, and sent us lots of photos and videos of our cat playing and eating and drinking to set our mind at rest. He seems his normal self now we are home again which is a massive relief for a cat with abandonment anxiety, we were worried he would be anxious - thank you Sophie!”

About: Hi! I’m a huge dog lover based in Sheffield with experience caring for dogs of all sizes, from small breeds to larger dogs. I’ve grown up around dogs and have helped train them to be crate trained, potty trained, and even learn fun tricks. I love getting outdoors for long walks and making sure every dog gets the exercise, attention, and affection they need. Whether your dog is energetic and loves adventures or prefers a slower pace and lots of cuddles, I’ll tailor their care to suit their personality and routine. I live in a quiet, calm home where dogs can feel safe, relaxed, and comfortable. I also have a flexible schedule, so I’m available for boarding, daycare, walks, and last-minute bookings whenever possible. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I’ll treat your dog like one of my own. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing they’re happy, well cared for, and getting plenty of love. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry best friend! 🐾 Pet care fits really well into my routine. I attend university roughly twice a week during term time and I climb around three times a week, but outside of that I have a very flexible schedule as I’m not currently working. This gives me lots of time and availability to dedicate to looking after pets, whether that’s walks, daycare, or boarding. I have a calm, pet-friendly home with no children, no other pets, and I do not smoke. I have an unfenced garden that is backed by houses away from roads, and dogs will always be supervised and taken out on a lead for regular toilet breaks. I can also offer frequent walks, with several nearby parks providing plenty of safe exercise and variety. Your dog will always be cared for in a safe, relaxed environment with their comfort and routine prioritised.
About: I’ve been so lucky to always have beautiful dogs and cats in my life and I’ve always cared deeply for all animals! I will genuinely be so pleased to spend time with your pets and will give them all the love and attention they deserve. The worst part of going on holiday is leaving your fluffy friends so make sure you can relax in peace knowing that they’re being taken care of with lots of heart. I can send as many or as few updates as you like and can help ease any holiday worries about your pet. 😻🥰🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ I am a primary school teacher who is completely work free until September so I have bags of time to spend taking care of your pet whilst you’re enjoying your summer fun! Safely looking after animals is super important and I am always extremely careful and cautious when taking care of my pets and I am no different with other animals. A safe pet is the happiest pet! This including making sure indoor animals stay indoors where they belong, making sure to check they have food and fresh water available at all times and doubling checking before leaving your property. As a school teacher, it’s important that I am trustworthy and I’m trusted everyday with young children.
About: I grew up in a family that always had pets, especially dogs of all sizes, from Shih Tzu to Mastiff. In 2020, we adopted a kitten named Bagheera, and later, in 2021, we welcomed a puppy named Baloo into our family. I love spending time with them, especially taking Baloo for long walks. However, as I have recently moved to Sheffield, I find myself missing my furry companions during the week. Therefore, I am looking for companions I can care for. I am experienced in providing care for both cats and dogs, including walks and playtime. I work full-time with office hours from 9 am to 5 pm. However, I am available for a drop-in visit during lunchtime at 1:00 pm, as well as before and after my office hours. I'm also comfortable with doing sleepovers at the pet's home." I can provide all the necessary safety to your pets without compromising their play and walk times. I will make sure your dog is on the lead during walks.
“Sadie looked after our dog Otter for a few days in our house. We were very happy. She looked after our dog really well and left everything in the house very clean and tidy. I would highly recommend her.”
About: My family has had a variety of different small dogs, so there are many behaviors of dogs that I can quickly pick up on what they are trying to say. My former pets always liked to sleep with me and I didn't mind this behavior from my pets, and I used to babysit various kittens for friends, which made me a lover of pet care and enjoy it. I'm currently tasked with editing my dissertation at home, so I have plenty of time to play with my pets! I am flexible with the time I have at my disposal each week. The home we live in now has good light and an open fenced yard not on the road with catnip plants that the cats will love, which makes the neighbor's cats always enjoy visiting the yard. There is a large lawn and park right outside the house for dog walking and if pet owners need any additional pet care services, I will do my best to accommodate them. I am currently working on my dissertation at home all day and I have plenty of free time to play with your puppy or cat and time is freely available, so book now. I live in a house with a small fenced yard and there is a large park near the house for dog walking, so if there is anything extra you need just let me know!
“Ada did an amazing job looking after our dog and cat whilst we were away. We’ve never left them with a sitter before and were quite nervous as our dog can be anxious around new people but her calm and nurturing demeanour put us at ease straight away. We loved the daily updates and pictures and could fully relax on holiday knowing they were happy and safe. Thank you so much Ada!”

Jess accepted my house sitting request with short notice, allowing me to travel and leave my furry baby for the first time. Jess was took good care of my Mable, sending me daily updates and reassuring me that she is well taken care of. Jess also took good care of my place and is very trustworthy. I’ll definitely book him again.

Sasha has looked after our Beagle, Freddie, a number of times and she is absolutely wonderful! Freddie just loves her! Sasha is a very kind, approachable person and she has been flexible and accommodating to our schedules etc. Highly recommended by dogs and humans! 🐾

Excellent. Both my dogs settled with Sophie straight away. On the first day I went my Dacshund hurt his leg. Sophie took him to the vets for me and looked after him well. Giving him his medication having to feed him by hand. A lot of work for her to do as she works from home also. Definitely would recommend Sophie to anyone. Especially if your dogs are needy dogs. Came home to a lovely clean house.

Michelle came to meet us beforehand and she is lovely, friendly and very reassuring (it was our first time leaving the cat!). She clearly knows lots about cats and how to care for them, she sent updates whilst we were away which was really appreciated and our cat is very happy with Michelle! 🐱😊
Felicity stayed at our place with Asha, our dog, for 5 days while we were abroad. We could see that Asha was very relaxed and being herself around her ☺️ Felicity followed her walking schedule , took her to our local park and sent loads of updates ! I would definitely book her again in the future ❤️

I believe Grace is a dog whisperer! 😅 Our dog, Chilli, usually barks at someone new for about five minutes, but with Grace, it took only 10 seconds before he was licking her and wagging his tail. It was obviously love at first bark for him! 🤭 She was fantastic throughout, sending regular updates, which meant I could completely relax knowing both my dog and my home were in such trustworthy hands. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Grace again and will definitely be doing so in the near future! Thank you Grace! ☺️

Our lab Lillth loved her time with Priscila, we received lots of lovely updates of their day, Priscila took Lilith on walks, played, and then Lillth had a well deserved nap. Priscila is very friendly, respectful of our house, and Lillth looks forward to seeing her again 😁

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Sheffield walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sheffield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
