About: I’ve been around dogs for as long as I can remember and have grown up with both large and small breeds, from German Shepherds to little terriers. I currently have a 6-month-old Sprocker Spaniel, so I’m very familiar with the energy, enthusiasm, and affection that dogs bring into our lives. Spending time with dogs is something I genuinely love, whether that’s taking them on long walks, playing with them, or simply making sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I treat every dog as if they were my own and understand how important it is for owners to know their pet is in safe, caring hands. Alongside caring for healthy, active dogs, I also have experience looking after senior dogs with mobility issues, ensuring they receive the patience, support, and extra care they need. I’ve cared for rescue dogs, helped build confidence in dogs struggling with social anxiety, and supported dogs with medical conditions, including epilepsy, always following owners’ guidance and routines closely. My experience with dogs of different ages, temperaments, and needs has helped me become adaptable, attentive, and confident in providing the individual care each dog deserves. I work from home three days a week, which gives me plenty of time and flexibility to provide attentive pet care throughout the day. I have my own dog, so caring for pets is already a big part of my daily routine. We enjoy three walks a day (one long walk and two shorter walks), along with playtime, training sessions, enrichment activities, and lots of cuddles. I like to pay close attention to each dog’s personality, energy levels, and mood so I can tailor their day to what they enjoy most and what makes them feel comfortable and happy. I provide a safe, loving, and calm environment where pets are treated like part of the family. I take the time to get to know each dog’s routine, preferences, and needs to help them feel secure and settled. Whether caring for pets in my home or in their owner’s home, I ensure they receive regular exercise, playtime, mental stimulation, fresh water, feeding according to instructions, and plenty of affection. I always monitor how a dog is feeling and adapt activities to suit their energy level and comfort, while maintaining a safe and trustworthy environment at all times.

Callum has been fantastic with Ben. He clearly spends a lot of time with him, playing and making sure he is happy. Ben is an older dog who likes taking the walks at his own pace, and Callum has been wonderful with this. He has been really flexible and accommodating when my days run long, which is a great help. Ben heads straight in to Callum’s home every day, so he obviously enjoys it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone as a caring and reliable dog sitter.

About: Me and my family, since I was very little, we were taking care of rescue dogs and cats (I’m coming from Greece in which there are many stray animals) until they would find a family. I have a lot of experience with any kind of breed, age and health conditions as many of them needed medication to get healthy again. Except this experience of mine, I have one dog back home and I miss him. This motivates me a lot to take care of other pets and give them the love I would give to mine🩵 I’m a MA graduate with part time work in weekends so during the week I have plenty of time to meet and take care of your furry loved ones. I can maintain a safe and calm environment in owner’s space for their pet. Unfortunately the place I live doesn’t not allow pets, so I can only do visits and take care of a pet in their familiar environment.

About: I have years of experience with a range of dog breeds and different ages. For example, I spent a few years helping to look after 2 elderly Jack Russel dogs, have boarded many different dog breeds, and did weekly dog sitting for two elderly large mix breed dogs. I also have my own dog which was rescued from the streets of Ethiopia! I’m currently a student going into my third year of an animal sciences degree! Because I’m a student I have a lot of flexibility and will always fit around your schedule and prioritise your needs. I have a quiet child and smoke-free home which has housed cats in the past. My only pets are a tortoise and a hamster who are both kept in safe parts of the house. I have a fenced in garden and plenty of quiet and cosy areas for cats to get some alone time! If you would like me to cat sit in your own home then I am more than happy to spend some time making sure your pet gets all the attention they deserve during my visit!

About: I have owned and cared for my Poodle since 2018. Although my dog is currently back home, my love for dogs has never changed. I miss spending time with dogs, so I decided to become a pet sitter. I care for only one dog at a time. This allows me to give each dog my full attention, care, and affection. I know every dog has its own routine and personality. I will follow your dog’s usual schedule for meals, walks, playtime, and rest. I can administer oral medication if needed. Walks will be tailored to your dog’s age, health, and energy level. I do not have any other pets at home. Your dog will enjoy a calm, safe, and comfortable environment. I will send regular photo and video updates throughout every stay. My goal is to help your dog feel happy, relaxed, and loved until you return. I have a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide plenty of attention throughout the day. Your dog will have regular toilet breaks (6-8 hours/ except night time) exercise, playtime, and companionship, and will never left alone. I care for only one dog at a time, allowing me to give your dog my full attention. I do not have any other pets at home. About: I bring more than just love for animals, I bring a lifetime of experience. Having shared my life with both cats and dogs for over 40 years, I’ve cared for pets through every stage, from their first clumsy steps to their golden years. Friends and family always count on me as their go-to pet sitter when they travel or host guests, because they know their fur-babies will be treated like my own. Whether it’s daily walks, cuddles on the sofa, or gentle care for older pets, I offer reliable, thoughtful, and genuine companionship. When I’m not buried in books, I’m happiest spending time with furry friends. Since I only work part-time in academia, I have plenty of free hours to dedicate to walks, cuddles, and check-ins. My schedule is flexible, so I can easily adjust to your pet’s routine, whether that means early-morning walkies, evening playtime, or cozy overnight care. In my home, pets get the full “grandma’s house” treatment; cozy, relaxed, and just a little bit spoiled. They’re welcome everywhere: on the sofa, on the bed, or curled up at my feet while I read. I have a little backyard where we can enjoy fresh air and shade, and just a short walk away are the parks, perfect for ball games, stick-chasing, or gentle strolls. Cats are just as welcome here, whether they prefer a quiet nap in a sunny spot, brushing sessions, or a bit of playful pouncing. When I care for pets in the owner’s home, I make sure to keep their routine consistent and their environment safe, as if you’d never left. Whether it’s walks, cuddles, feeding, playtime, or simply quiet companionship, I treat every pet as though they were my own, with love, respect, and lots of attention.

George took excellent care of Dixie during her day with him. He sent many pictures to reassure us she was happy and settled. This was Dixie’s first day away from us so we were a little nervous but there was absolutely no need to be. We were held up leaving Tramlines due to the traffic and ended up being 45 mins late to pick Dixie up. George was very patient and kind, waiting up for us to pick her up. Thank you George, Lemmy and family for your wonderful care of our dog!

About: Ever since I was a baby I’ve always been around animals, whether it be cats, puppies, or difficult dogs, I’ve always loved animals. Lenny, my parents dog, I trained to be responsive to my instructions and have a wide array of tricks. I would love to give all the love I have for my own dog to someone else’s whilst I’m here at university! I am currently a full-time teacher, so I am available to look after/walk your animals on Friday, Saturday or Sunday at any time, as well as in the evenings throughout the week. I live in a secure first-floor flat with access to a private balcony. I don’t have a garden, however, I live extremely close to local parks and have access to them 24/7, so your pet will still have plenty of opportunities for outdoor time and exercise. The flat is secure, and there is no way your pet would be able to escape.

I can’t recommend Leyton highly enough. Sid stayed with him for doggy daycare during the weekdays while I was away on holiday, with my partner dropping him off on his way to work and collecting him at the end of the day. Sid is a Staffy and a strong dog, so one of the things that was important to me when choosing someone was finding a sitter who was confident and comfortable looking after and walking a bigger, stronger dog. I had absolutely no worries with Leyton. Sid clearly loved his time there. He had walks, plenty of playtime and always came home happy and completely worn out, which is definitely a good sign! Leyton also fed him his morning and evening meals and gave him his medication, which made things so much easier for us. I really appreciated getting a lovely update at the end of each day telling me what Sid had been up to and how he’d got on. It was very reassuring being away and knowing he was happy and being properly looked after. Sid was unfortunately attacked by another dog while out with my partner over the weekend. When he went back to Leyton on the Monday, Leyton took such good care of him and kept a close eye on him, which I really appreciated. It was also obvious that Leyton genuinely enjoyed having Sid there, rather than it simply feeling like a dog-sitting service. Sid clearly felt comfortable and happy with him too. We’ll definitely be using Leyton again, not just for holidays but for the odd day when we’re going to be out for a long time and don’t want Sid home alone all day. Highly recommended. Thank you, Leyton, for taking such good care of our boy! 🐾

I couldn’t be happier with the care Rollo received from Amber! He’s a very nervous dog and this was his first time being left with a non-family member so I was nervous about how he’d react. There was no need to worry, he had a lovely time, Amber kept me updated throughout the day with how he was and sent pictures. I collected a very tired little dog at the end of the day, which is always a bonus! A tired Rollo is a happy Rollo 😊

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Sheffield on Rover is £25.3 per day (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 2,444 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Sheffield. About 86% of Sheffield sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Sheffield commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
