“Callum has been fantastic with Ben. He clearly spends a lot of time with him, playing and making sure he is happy. Ben is an older dog who likes taking the walks at his own pace, and Callum has been wonderful with this. He has been really flexible and accommodating when my days run long, which is a great help. Ben heads straight in to Callum’s home every day, so he obviously enjoys it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone as a caring and reliable dog sitter.”

About: I’ve been around dogs for as long as I can remember and have grown up with both large and small breeds, from German Shepherds to little terriers. I currently have a 6-month-old Sprocker Spaniel, so I’m very familiar with the energy, enthusiasm, and affection that dogs bring into our lives. Spending time with dogs is something I genuinely love, whether that’s taking them on long walks, playing with them, or simply making sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I treat every dog as if they were my own and understand how important it is for owners to know their pet is in safe, caring hands. Alongside caring for healthy, active dogs, I also have experience looking after senior dogs with mobility issues, ensuring they receive the patience, support, and extra care they need. I’ve cared for rescue dogs, helped build confidence in dogs struggling with social anxiety, and supported dogs with medical conditions, including epilepsy, always following owners’ guidance and routines closely. My experience with dogs of different ages, temperaments, and needs has helped me become adaptable, attentive, and confident in providing the individual care each dog deserves. I work from home three days a week, which gives me plenty of time and flexibility to provide attentive pet care throughout the day. I have my own dog, so caring for pets is already a big part of my daily routine. We enjoy three walks a day (one long walk and two shorter walks), along with playtime, training sessions, enrichment activities, and lots of cuddles. I like to pay close attention to each dog’s personality, energy levels, and mood so I can tailor their day to what they enjoy most and what makes them feel comfortable and happy. I provide a safe, loving, and calm environment where pets are treated like part of the family. I take the time to get to know each dog’s routine, preferences, and needs to help them feel secure and settled. Whether caring for pets in my home or in their owner’s home, I ensure they receive regular exercise, playtime, mental stimulation, fresh water, feeding according to instructions, and plenty of affection. I always monitor how a dog is feeling and adapt activities to suit their energy level and comfort, while maintaining a safe and trustworthy environment at all times.
“Sena was very promptly responsive and answered all my questions before booking. She kept great communication all throughout and was very friendly, putting my mind at ease. My dog liked her instantly upon meeting which is a great sign for me! Throughout the day she sent me photos and updates about my dog keeping me very relaxed that my dog was comfortable, happy and well taken care of, I could also see this from the photos. I definitely recommend her to watch your pet and if I'm in the area again I would definitely seek her out. Thanks Sena!”

About: Me and my family, since I was very little, we were taking care of rescue dogs and cats (I’m coming from Greece in which there are many stray animals) until they would find a family. I have a lot of experience with any kind of breed, age and health conditions as many of them needed medication to get healthy again. Except this experience of mine, I have one dog back home and I miss him. This motivates me a lot to take care of other pets and give them the love I would give to mine🩵 I’m a MA graduate with part time work in weekends so during the week I have plenty of time to meet and take care of your furry loved ones. I can maintain a safe and calm environment in owner’s space for their pet. Unfortunately the place I live doesn’t not allow pets, so I can only do visits and take care of a pet in their familiar environment.

About: I am a caring, responsible and trustworthy animal lover who truly enjoys spending time with pets. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine and needs, and I always make sure they feel safe, happy and comfortable while in my care. I can provide walks, playtime, feeding, fresh water, cuddles and regular updates for owners, so you always know your pet is in good hands. I am patient with nervous pets, energetic with playful pets, and gentle with older pets who need extra care. Your pet will be treated with love, attention and kindness just like family. I take pet safety seriously and always aim to create a calm, clean and positive environment. I have a flexible schedule and can provide loving, reliable care throughout the week and weekends. I am available for walks, drop-in visits, daycare and boarding. Your pet will receive plenty of attention, playtime, exercise and care during their stay with me. I provide a safe, clean and calm environment where pets can feel comfortable and relaxed. I always follow the owner’s instructions regarding feeding, walks, medication and routines. Pets are supervised carefully, treated with kindness, and their safety is always my top priority.
About: I have done pet sitting on and off as a side project for many years, including while living in Los Angeles, as you can see from my profile. I had been travelling and pet sitting until recently settling in Sheffield. I work from home and love having animals around. I don't have any pets of my own because I travel intermittently, so I enjoy looking after other people's pets when I can. There are several large parks near the house which are excellent for long walks where needed. While I am mostly at home, I do go out from time to time, so primarily sit for animals who are OK for up to four hours by themselves. I will do my best to check we have similar expectations before the sit begins. I work from home, so it's pretty easy to factor in any pet care routines and pick up and drop offs. I do have a back garden so there's some outside space here, and many parks close by for walks. I'm adjusting to pet sitting expectations in the UK so am prepared there may be slight differences to the US. I would usually expect that people bring their own litter tray for cats and poo bags for dogs but if that is unusual let me know. I have a relaxed home, animals are welcome on furniture, but of course if that clashes with home realities and you would prefer they don't, just let me know.
“Amber was great with our 5 month old energetic pup! We were a bit nervous about leaving him for the first time, but we shouldn’t have worried as he seemed to have a great time and came back to us tired and happy 😊”

“Bobby had a great day at Laura’s and easily bonded with her and Jade. Laura kept us updated through the day - it was a very hot one - and ensured Bob had lots of opportunity for stimulation without overheating. Laura has a great way with all dogs and is really knowledgeable, so we knew he was in safe hands. We will call on Laura to help again in future.”
About: Your dog will be in experienced hands: I trained our pet Spaniel when I was a teenager and have had my own cats and dog ever since. My own Labrador, Dexter, will keep your dog company during their stay. I toilet and crate-trained him from twelve-weeks old, and since then taught him off-lead recall and on-lead courtesy (less pulling). Dogs hosted so far have joined me on day trips by train to other cities and come out in the Peak District with Dexter to enjoy nature hiking. To ensure the best experience and compatibility, we'll do a meet-and-greet between Dexter and your own dog, to make sure your dog's stay maximally enjoyable. I'm currently writing-up my PhD so love hiking in the Peak District with Dexter (and giving him opportunities to swim) every few days, so high energy dogs in need of long walks are welcome. My home is spacious with plenty of areas for your dog to relax or enjoy. And I'm home full-time during sits or boards.
“Our labrador husky stopped with Erin back in March for the day. She had a great time playing with skye and was well looked after. Would recommend Erin to anyone who needs doggy day care.”

“Rose and Charlie are extremely friendly and I felt entirely comfortable leaving Bonnie with them for the day. Plenty of updates and Bonnie seemed to have a great time. Would definitely recommend!”

About: I own a beautiful retired/rescued greyhound. I'm moving to part time work from home and would love to help look after you dog in my spare time. I've always loved dogs, while I never wanted my own children. Daisy my greyhound is my fur baby and I will treat all your dogs like the prince and princesses they are. I'm now working part time at home 3 days a week, so I'm available for boarding and day care any day of the week. I can make your dog at ease at home and take care of any medication needs, day or night. If visiting my home I have a fenced back yard with one lazy greyhound to keep your dog company.
“Emma has had Monty twice now, and he’s booked in for regular day care. She always looks after him really well, and is really kind and welcoming. She sends me pics through the day and is really accommodating x”

About: Experienced and caring pet sitter specializing in dogs. I’ve successfully cared for a wide variety of dog breeds including Corgi, Husky, German Shepherd, Yorkie, Cockapoo, Alaskan Malamute, Shih Tzu, and many more. I also have experience with cats, turtles, hamsters, and other small pets. Whether it’s an energetic puppy, a calm senior dog, or any other furry (or scaly) friend, I truly understand their needs and always make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home. As a work-from-home professional, I have the flexibility to provide exceptional care for pets. My schedule allows me to be available throughout the day, ensuring their needs are met with attention and consistency. I must not walk dogs near dangerous areas and always ensure they stay away from the road. As a pet owner of both dogs and cats, I will never put them at risk, and their safety is my top priority. Additionally, I will not walk cats or bring them outside, and I will keep them safe from household dangers like toxic plants, open windows, or small objects.
“Emma was fantastic with Rosie, our Goldendoodle. She looked after her at short notice and took great care of her. Rosie came home exhausted after a full day of attention and plenty of exercise. Thank you, Emma!”

Stella had the best time with Hattie and Will! They were so accommodating with our timings and scheduling, helping ease Stella through our weekend with no disruption, only play! Nothing was too much trouble, and they were so understanding of her puppy ways! Thank you both! :D

Erin helped me out very last minute by looking after Manny while I had to attend a medical appointment. She did a great job adapting and taking care of him on a hot day, thinking about his safety and comfort. He had a wonderful time and it was very reassuring. Absolutely recommend. She is knowledgeable with rescues and sensitive dogs.

Melissa and Ben have been fantastic with our Golden Retriever, Milo. He can be a bit anxious and takes time to get comfortable with new people and environments. Melissa and Ben have been incredibly accommodating and have made sure Milo has settled in quickly, and have provided updates, photos and videos through day care sessions which has been reassuring. Would highly recommend.

Isabella was so accommodating fitting us in quite last minute! She is clearly great with puppies, we got sent lovely picture updates throughout the day and message updates. Puppy came back so happy and tired from her stay! Feel so happy to have found someone so great whilst we’re at work to care for her!

Adam was really good with Ollie who is just 11 months old. He was very descriptive in terms of what he offered , was amazing with Ollie and sent us lots of pictures and videos throughout the day. We felt very reassured having Ollie with him and we can be quite anxious pet parents! Would definitely book Adam again and highly recommend!!

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
