“Lucy is amazing! So kind, lovely, and have knowledge about dogs. Lucys little girl is so good with other dogs and she’s been playing with Willow all day! Willow found a new bestie! Thank you Lucy! Highly recommended and all your help in looking after Willow is much appreciated x”

“Truffle absolutely loves going to stay with Nicola during the day. There’s a small number of other dogs to play with that all have a lovely temperament including Nicola’s own dog, Boots who Truffle loves! We get lots of pupdates through the day and she’s always having the best time! We would definitely recommend her and will be using her daycare again 😊”

About: I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family. I take the time to understand each animal’s unique personality, routines, and needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I have experience with puppy training—from crate training and leash manners to basic commands—and I’m also comfortable providing gentle, attentive care for senior pets, including administering medication and keeping a calm, familiar environment. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or quiet companionship, I make sure every visit leaves your pet happy and stress-free I am a healthy, active, retired professional lady. I live alone so would have plenty of time and love to give to your fur baby My garden is fully fenced. Your fur baby would live indoors. Sleep on my bed if that is what they are used to. I have no other pets so it will be just your dog.
“Dixie and dougal had a great day with meg. She helped us out last minute and i would highly reccomend her and she kept us updated throughout the day with messages and pictures. Thank you again”

“100% recommended! Natasha and her partner, Joe are wonderful carers. Harry is an elderly border terrier who suffers greatly from separation anxiety but he settled in very nicely, very quickly at their home. Even so much so that he was fast asleep, snoring on the settee within hours! We had a pre meet and greet, and I knew from that, that he was going to be absolutely fine. I received regular updates and photos throughout the day on how he was getting on. Very impressed and I will be booking Natasha again without any hesitation.”

About: - I’ve grown up with dogs and have spent years dog sitting for friends and family, so you can expect a calm, confident, and caring pair of hands looking after your pet. - I understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone new, which is why I’m always happy to have a phone call beforehand or arrange a meet and greet to make sure you feel completely comfortable. - Growing up, I was kept on my toes by two very strong-willed terriers (including a particularly determined Patterdale … if you know, you know). They’ve given me plenty of hands on experience with lively, intelligent, and sometimes escape-artist dogs, so safety and awareness are always my top priority. - I’ve looked after a wide range of breeds, from Dachshunds and Chihuahuas to Corgis, Retrievers, and Bichon Frisés, and I adapt my care to suit each dog’s individual personality and needs. - For your peace of mind, I am fully insured and take every precaution to ensure your pet’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing at all times. I work from home and I’m my own boss - so my routine is flexible and can adapt around what your dog needs and likes to do! If allowed, I can even take your pet for a dog-friendly ice cream at the local cafe! 🍦 (a 5 minute walk from my home) (For dog sitting) I have a secure, spacious garden for you dogs to roam around. It’s fully patterdale proofed by Zamba, seasoned escape artist! So your dogs will be perfectly safe and secure. And my house is spacious with plenty of room to roam around. There’s no other pets in the house so your dog will have my full attention. My house is a 2 minute walk from the local park and the back garden is surrounded by woodland - so lots of sniffs and it’s a dog’s paradise!

About: I currently have a family dog named Otto who stayed at my parents house when I moved out with Paddy. We still take him on dog walks, look after him in our home when my parents go away and we had to care for him when he was a puppy (and going through the testing teenage years). I’m currently at home full-time until September, so I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, care, and companionship throughout the day. I can tailor my routine to suit each dog’s individual needs, whether they enjoy long walks, playtime, or simply having company. I also have a car, which gives me the flexibility to travel and explore different walking routes. When I start a new job in September, I’ll update my availability to make sure I can continue offering reliable, high-quality care. I live in a spacious two-storey home with a secure, fully fenced garden, providing plenty of room for dogs to relax and play safely. We also have a stair gate available for dogs who aren’t permitted upstairs, although we’re happy for well house-trained dogs to have access to the whole home. We’re fortunate to be close to several fantastic walking spots, including Holmebrook Valley Park, Linacre Reservoirs, and a number of other local parks. We’re also just a short drive from the Peak District, offering plenty of opportunities for varied and enjoyable walks. We currently don’t have any pets living in our home. Our family dog, Otto, a friendly Golden Labrador, lives with my parents. If your dog enjoys canine company, Otto may occasionally join us on a walk. However, if your dog prefers their own space, that’s absolutely fine too, and all walks and care can be tailored to suit their individual needs and personality.
About: I have many years experience caring for my own pets and for family and friends, including feeding, walking, and making sure they feel comfortable and settled while their owners are away. As a young child I was taught how to care for our family pets, from cats, guinee pigs, hamsters and goldfish, dogs came later into my life when I became a young adult. I understand how important routine is for animals, and I always take the time to get to know their individual needs and personalities. When it comes to home care, I’m tidy, trustworthy, and conscientious. I treat every home with respect, keeping it clean, secure, and well looked after. Whether it’s watering plants, keeping things organised, or simply ensuring everything runs smoothly, I take pride in doing things properly. Above all, I genuinely enjoy helping others and providing peace of mind, knowing that both pets and homes are in safe hands. At the moment, I work from home four days a week, which suits me perfectly as it allows me to care for my dog and look after any others when needed. This arrangement gives me the flexibility to manage my responsibilities comfortably and ensures the pets receive plenty of attention throughout the day. During the weekends, I have increased availability to care for your beloved pets, should you need it. My days are dedicated to discovering fresh walking routes and exploring new destinations, all tailored to provide plenty of stimulation and adventure for those curious noses eager to experience new scents and surroundings. I have a fenced secure garden which is pet friendly just like my home, creating a safe, trusting, and comfortable environment is always my top priority. I take time to get to know each pet’s routine, likes, and dislikes to help them feel right at home. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or just some quiet company, I always make sure their wellbeing comes first. I pay close attention to any instructions or special needs, and I’m happy to adapt my approach depending on the service you need. If you have any questions or specific requests, please let me know—your pet’s safety and happiness are at the heart of everything I do!

About: I’m a warm, friendly and reliable pet sitter, and together with my partner Lauren, we offer caring and dependable pet sitting for animals of all ages and personalities. As pet owners ourselves, we understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust to care for your pets and keep them happy, safe and comfortable while you’re away. Having rescued my own dog in the past, Lily, I know how much patience, trust and gentle care can mean to a pet. Through helping with her training, building her confidence and understanding her individual needs, I’ve developed a calm and compassionate approach to animal care. Together, Lauren and I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality, routine and needs so we can make them feel settled and well cared for. Whether your pet enjoys playtime, quiet companionship, sticking to a familiar routine or needs a little extra patience and reassurance, we always adapt our care to suit them. We’re especially understanding with young pets who are still learning, as well as older pets who may need a softer, more attentive approach. Pet care fits really naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I run my own business, so I have a flexible schedule and can plan my time around the pets I’m caring for. This means I’m able to offer visits, walks, and sitting at times that work best for each pet and their owner. My partner Lauren also helps with sitting and works remotely, so together we’re able to be really flexible and make sure pets get plenty of care, company, and attention throughout the day. We love creating a calm, caring environment and tailoring our service to suit each pet’s individual routine and needs. We offer pet sitting in the pet’s own home, as we find this is where they feel most comfortable, settled, and secure. Staying in their familiar surroundings helps keep their routine as normal as possible and can make the whole experience much less stressful for them. We always take the time to get to know each pet’s usual routine, from feeding and walks to playtime, rest, and any little habits that help them feel at ease. Our aim is to make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away, with plenty of attention, reassurance, and love.

About: I grew up with dogs in our household and for the last 20 years I've had my own dogs but lost my last one, Sanza, a Toy Poodle, in June 2025. I dog sit two Dachshund sisters aged 15 regularly and enjoy it very much. I love dogs and would treat your dogs as if they were my own. Your pet's comfort, happiness and safety is my priority. I have experience of giving medication via injection as my dog was diabetic and had to have insulin injections twice a day as well as oral medication. I also have experience of looking after senior dogs as I have cared for dogs who are 14 and 15 years old. I am available to look after your dogs in my home or at your home so they have as little disruption to their routine as possible. I am retired so I'am at home all day so can look after your pets whenever you need me. I'm very flexible and can adjust my schedule to fit in around your needs. I have an enclosed garden which is fully fenced/ brick wall. The garden is very secure. I live in a semi detached bungalow so there are no stairs to climb. I have lots of toys for your dogs to play with. I am available to look after them in their own home or at my home. I am retired so I am around all the time to look after your dogs. I prefer to look after small dogs but will look after medium sized dogs as long as they walk well on the lead as I walk with a crutch so can't manage to walk large dogs who pull or lunge too strongly when they react to other dogs. I do not look after large dogs for safety reasons.
“Kris was great for flexibility and communication, she truly looked after Fia yesterday. Fia came out tail wagging and happy, then slept for 2hrs straight. Kris is definitely my kind of doggy-person.”

About: I have had my pampered pooch (Max) from a puppy, since I was 14 in which I walked daily, bathed and fed. I love to walk and explore new areas and I love our fluffy friends or take care of them in the comfort of their own home 🏡 I am currently a full time postgraduate university student in, contact time in university is minimal due to final independent projects so I have a lot of free time. I live in a house with a spacious fenced garden and a lot of room for your fluffy family member to explore and enjoy 🐾
“I can't praise Cameron enough. Luka had a wonderful time and I think it tired him out a little 😁 Cameron is knowledgeable and takes the time to listen, so you can leave knowing he will be well looked after. Luka is a Cocker puppy so still learning anyone who has one will know 🫣 but Cameron was not phased in the slightest. This was my first time leaving him, but all my fears washed away when picking Luka up after his first day, he was happy and the next visit he couldn't wait to get in and play.”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up on a farm, have had big dogs my whole life, from puppy to senior age and currently have a happy, well-trained Dalmatian who I raised from a puppy. I love exploring the Peak District and giving dogs the exercise, attention, and stimulation they need. With my own car and flexible routine, I’m always ready for walks, countryside adventures, and making sure your dog feels safe and cared for, as if they are a part of my family! As a university student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care throughout the week. I enjoy staying active and getting outdoors, so dog walks and spending time with pets fit naturally into my daily routine. I’m able to be flexible with timings and make sure dogs get the exercise, attention, and care they need. I live in the quiet community of Dore, that has easy accessible walking paths and parks. My flat is the end of a cul-de-sac and has a garden and large car park for quick pee breaks. My flat is very spacious and with plenty of open play space!

Larna and Richard have been fantastic looking after Wilf overnight. He’s clearly had a great time and been really happy and comfortable with them, despite it being only his second night ever away from home. Thanks so much. Would very happily book again. Great communication and lots of lovely photos 🥰xx

Meg was amazing! From meeting her for the first time, she put our minds at ease that our pets would be in great hands. Our puppy and two cats were comfortable and happy in her care and we loved receiving updates throughout the day. She was very accommodating and happy to maintain our routines. We will definitely be coming to Meg again!

Absolutely loverly couple who took on my 5 month old bitchon. My husband was unsure about leaving him while we are away but has been reassured by the trial day and Emily keeping me updated. Can definitely recommend as a loving. safe, secure and knowledgeable place to leave your fur babies

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
