“Lucy is extremely human and dog friendly ;0) She welcomed our dogs in her home and listened to our dog’s needs. Our dogs were very happy and relaxed with Lucy. We would definitely book Lucy again Thank you x”

“After my original dog sitter cancelled on me with less than 24 hours notice, Cameron came to the rescue and agreed to look after Max! Cameron kept me up to date with what Max was doing & sent lots of pictures too. He had a fabulous walk with her & he came home very tired & happy. She has lots of space in her home for your dog to roam too! Would recommend! Thank you!”

“Sue was super friendly and accommodating. Fia seemed to enjoy her stay and was in no rush to leave when I collected her, she gave Sue lots of kisses before we left which is definitely a good sign. Will definitely be back!”

“Peggy had a lovely afternoon with Meisha and was very well looked after, with lots of activities and cuddles to keep her happy. The house and garden are 100% dog friendly and safe and I have no hesitation in recommending Meisha. Peggy will be staying again very soon.”

“Buddy is a very anxious and needy dog and he’s never been left with someone he doesn’t know. Janice was very patient with him and by the end his stay he was comfortable enough to sit on the settee with her! She kept me informed throughout the day and I feel very reassured for his week long stay with her next week 😊”

“Another wonderful day with Tracy and her family 😊 he really is so happy to be there, so happy in fact that I struggled to get him to come home!! Can't recommend highly enough, it's like leaving him with family 🥰”

“Edie had a lovely morning with Briony! We got some lovely pictures of her playing and relaxing, so it looks like she made herself right at home! Looking forward to bringing her again 😊”

“David was clearly a dog lover and both dogs seemed happy to go back on the second day. David was very good at communicating and sent photos of Leo and Poppy. I would not hesitate to recommend David nor leave Leo and Poppy with David again.”

“Sarah and Daisy always take great care of my dog, and are so lovely! I highly recommend Sarah to anyone wanting a calm and relaxing place for their dog to stay. Daisy is so sweet and makes amazing company. Thank you! :)”

“Buster loves his new day care home, he loved it so much on his first day that he didn’t want to come home, and whenever we say the words “where’s Trisha” he runs to his coat, think he has found some forever friends”

About: I have many years experience caring for my own pets and for family and friends, including feeding, walking, and making sure they feel comfortable and settled while their owners are away. As a young child I was taught how to care for our family pets, from cats, guinee pigs, hamsters and goldfish, dogs came later into my life when I became a young adult. I understand how important routine is for animals, and I always take the time to get to know their individual needs and personalities. When it comes to home care, I’m tidy, trustworthy, and conscientious. I treat every home with respect, keeping it clean, secure, and well looked after. Whether it’s watering plants, keeping things organised, or simply ensuring everything runs smoothly, I take pride in doing things properly. Above all, I genuinely enjoy helping others and providing peace of mind, knowing that both pets and homes are in safe hands. At the moment, I work from home four days a week, which suits me perfectly as it allows me to care for my dog and look after any others when needed. This arrangement gives me the flexibility to manage my responsibilities comfortably and ensures the pets receive plenty of attention throughout the day. During the weekends, I have increased availability to care for your beloved pets, should you need it. My days are dedicated to discovering fresh walking routes and exploring new destinations, all tailored to provide plenty of stimulation and adventure for those curious noses eager to experience new scents and surroundings. I have a fenced secure garden which is pet friendly just like my home, creating a safe, trusting, and comfortable environment is always my top priority. I take time to get to know each pet’s routine, likes, and dislikes to help them feel right at home. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or just some quiet company, I always make sure their wellbeing comes first. I pay close attention to any instructions or special needs, and I’m happy to adapt my approach depending on the service you need. If you have any questions or specific requests, please let me know—your pet’s safety and happiness are at the heart of everything I do!
About: As a massive dog lover, I've found joy in caring for furry companions for years! Along with my sensible, independent grown kids aged 17 & 10 years old and our well-behaved, trained three year old Pomeranian. I will be the sole care provider, offering a safe, loving home with a decent garden, ensuring plenty of space to play and attentive care for your pet 😊 I work from home full-time, so I'm always available to supervise and care for your pet. They'll have full access to our secure garden to roam and play whenever they like. To ensure a safe and trusting environment, your pet will enjoy a fully equipped home with access to fresh food and drinks, plenty of toys for playtime, and full access to our spacious, secure garden. Plus, with the park right opposite our house, they'll have plenty of opportunities for fun outdoor adventures. Please provide any specific supplies they need to make sure they feel right at home!

About: I have experience of looking after 7 golden retrievers at one time. I love walking and have a clean and safe home which is dog friendly. I am not currently working so have lots of free time to look after your pets. I am not available some weekends but am free most days in the week and every other weekend. I am willing to administer any care needed for your dog. I am willing to look after your pet overnight as well as in the day
“My puppy Lola was well looked after. Gabrielle took her out for her pretty regular toilet breaks (being such a young pup), and made sure she was cared for and given lots of cuddles. I knew I’d left her in good hands :)”

“George took excellent care of Dixie during her day with him. He sent many pictures to reassure us she was happy and settled. This was Dixie’s first day away from us so we were a little nervous but there was absolutely no need to be. We were held up leaving Tramlines due to the traffic and ended up being 45 mins late to pick Dixie up. George was very patient and kind, waiting up for us to pick her up. Thank you George, Lemmy and family for your wonderful care of our dog!”

“Super easy organisation with Holly due to great communication. Frank clearly had a great day and came back very tired after her day out. No hesitation to use Holly again for her first overnight stay very soon (Frankie says she can’t wait!)”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up on a farm, have had big dogs my whole life, from puppy to senior age and currently have a happy, well-trained Dalmatian who I raised from a puppy. I love exploring the Peak District and giving dogs the exercise, attention, and stimulation they need. With my own car and flexible routine, I’m always ready for walks, countryside adventures, and making sure your dog feels safe and cared for, as if they are a part of my family! As a university student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care throughout the week. I enjoy staying active and getting outdoors, so dog walks and spending time with pets fit naturally into my daily routine. I’m able to be flexible with timings and make sure dogs get the exercise, attention, and care they need. I live in the quiet community of Dore, that has easy accessible walking paths and parks. My flat is the end of a cul-de-sac and has a garden and large car park for quick pee breaks. My flat is very spacious and with plenty of open play space!

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Chesterfield
Ellie and Zak agreed to take our 10 year-old lab collie in for a daycare. We got regular photo updates showing how much fun he had with the abundance of dog toys they had in the house and playing in the garden (it was too warm for an old dog to go on an adventure). He seemed very content when we collected him and had some good long naps at home. Thanks guys!

Would 100 percent have Lucy look after Lola again, when we visit next time. Being a very nervous dog, Lucy was perfect with her by giving her the space and care that she needed. I could tell Lola felt comfortable with Lucy and Marnie, from the updates I received during her stay. She was left to explore and nap when she wanted too. Thank you very much Lucy.

Larna and Richard have been fantastic looking after Wilf overnight. He’s clearly had a great time and been really happy and comfortable with them, despite it being only his second night ever away from home. Thanks so much. Would very happily book again. Great communication and lots of lovely photos 🥰xx

Meg was amazing! From meeting her for the first time, she put our minds at ease that our pets would be in great hands. Our puppy and two cats were comfortable and happy in her care and we loved receiving updates throughout the day. She was very accommodating and happy to maintain our routines. We will definitely be coming to Meg again!

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
